babyfaceafrica:Alright. It was actually Tinubu. |
babyfaceafrica:You said deputy SP and deputy speaker. The top 4 positions are President, VP, SP and Speaker. For the first time in 2007, Igbos lost out in any of the top 4 positions plus party chairman. They were given both deputies as consolation. NW - president SS - VP NC - SP SW - Speaker NE - Party Chairman In 2011, President and VP got swapped between NW and SS, while SW sold the Speaker position which should have been occupied by Mulikat Akande to the NW (Tambuwal). |
ikezuora4689:That tells me the kind of mum, sisters, aunties, female cousins, nieces, grandmas etc you have. I would have been married for the past 1 to 2 years if not that I insisted I must marry an Igbo girl, among other set qualities, and I don't have any regrets about it. |
tolugar:Na Ibadan or Bayelsa guy. They say 'socked' instead of 'shocked' (as in, pronounce 'sh' as 's'), so he assumed the spelling is 'sucked'. |
Threebear:You really want to argue this? Like seriously? To start with, 'many' means a large number. How on earth does three imply a large number? Even among 10 samples, you can't call 3 a large number. If 3 words were misspelled in a write up containing over 70 words, does that imply 'many'? You can say she misspelled 'some' words but not many. Three can only be many among 5 or 6 samples. Stop misusing words biko. Three cannot be many in that case. That said, it was the op that wrote 'voted' in place of 'votes'. Check the screenshot of her tweet and see that she actually wrote 'votes' instead of 'voted', and that was the reason I corrected it. Even you the grammarian wrote 'vote' instead of 'votes', so perhaps you also have issues with spellings, judging you by your own standard. I also mentioned that I corrected the 2 obvious spelling errors while copying the chat which were 'fingers' for finger and 'to' for 'too'. Even both errors are not serious misspelling errors because most people who write and fail to proof-read their write-ups before posting on social media can easily make such errors. I make similar errors sometimes and even have to edit the post again after the initial posting, whether on Nairaland or Facebook. Some people aren't that careful. I just took a look at it again. |
mancanoe:You copied someone's post and even copied the 'Quote', 'Report' etc along. Chai! ![]() |
OneCorner:Can we just stop these tribalistic comments please? Don't you get tired of these endless wars between Yorubas and Igbos all over social media? |
Threebear:He said there were many MISSPELLINGS. Misspelling isn't exactly the same as grammatical blunder, and I made sure I kept highlighting the word 'misspellings' wherever I wrote it. Talking about grammatical blunders, there weren't MANY of them like the person I quoted opined. Yes, it wasn't a perfect write up by Bisola, but I don't think the so-called grammatical blunders are that striking. Many Nigerian graduates today won't write better than she did. You can take it upon yourself to correct her write up, show the corrections in bold, and let's compare it with the original write up. That's probably the best way to see the MANY grammatical blunders, and we'll know how significant the blunders are. |
KaptainAfrika:But even Akpabio denied that he ever asked where God was when he picked up Udom and made him governor, thereby acknowledging that it was God that did it. In 2015, Akpabio himself said that God chose Udom, so why should it be a crime if Udom repeats the same thing now? The issue is that Akpabio has lost all his bragging rights from Udom. He cannot get any benefit from him anymore cos he swore to remove him and failed. This is a common thing in politics when people break up with their godfathers. Even Obiano did the same thing to Peter Obi, and we saw how he worked against Peter Obi's interest in the presidential election. Udom is a wise man. If he had defected with Akpabio, he might have lost his seat. Akwa Ibom people, just like the South East people are very sentimental about their support for PDP. So far, APC hasn't shown itself to be a neutral party that upholds the interest of the people of SE and SS, especially with Buhari as president, so the people of Akwa Ibom hate APC. You say Udom would have done what Abdulfatah Ahmed did? So what did Abdulfatah achieve by decamping with Saraki? If he had stayed in APC, he would have won a senatorial seat in APC by now. |
garfield1:Did you notice the parts of the governor's statement in bold: In view of the outcome and declaration of the results by INEC, I wish to congratulate the Governor-Elect Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri over his election as the incoming Governor of Adamawa State and wish him successful tenure, ” he said. Will he wish Fintiri a successful tenure if he plans to challenge the outcome in court? Will he still challenge the outcome in court after saying he will respect the people's mandate? |
Where is senatordave1? He still believes APC will win Adamawa. He was even boasting they will use MRDD to cancel the election so that APC can Kanorize the rerun. . |
KaptainAfrika:Udom tried hard to maintain peace with Akpabio but Akpabio insisted he must deal with him. Notwithstanding the fact that Akpabio tried in terms of infrastructural development of Akwa Ibom, he plunged the state into a lot of debt. Despite receiving the highest allocation from the FG, Akwa Ibom owes the 2nd biggest debt among the 36 states. Udom could have instituted investigations against Akpabio but he didn't. Even when EFCC started hounding him, Udom kept shielding him. Udom's only sin was failing to allow Akpabio run the state by proxy, and that's why he swore that he must remove Udom. Now that he has failed, what do you expect Udom to do? To start worshipping him? |
Threebear:I just took a look at it again. I only picked up 'too' instead of 'to' and 'finger' instead of 'fingers' or perhaps 'hand', among the spelling mistakes. I already corrected them below. Which other ones, biko? I am not a grammarian. I didn't study anything close to English Language in the university, but I know I am not bad with the language. I copied and pasted the post here. Can you please show me the other SPELLING mistakes apart from the ones I already commented on. Thank you. "So, are they trying to say that the finalists didn't deserve to make it to the finals? I personally think they Did and majority of the audience voted Miracle. The Brand has its integrity to protect too and I don't believe they would tamper with votes etc. They should also not forget, that millions of people would maximize just one week in that house. DON'T BITE THE FINGERS THAT FED YOU JUST COS YOU NO BELLEFUL OOOO." |
temmypotter:How is that write up full of misspellings? Apart from 'finger' written in place of 'fingers', which other misspellings are there? If you're talking about her grammar and punctuations, it's a different thing entirely, but even at that, she didn't do badly at all. That lady wrote better than many Nigerian graduates at the moment. PS: I just realised the more accurate expression (though uncommon in Nigeria) is "not to bite the hand the fed/feeds you". |
priceaction:Wike and Amaechi (the 2 demons in Rivers State) were in the same camp then, so there wasn't any battle for supremacy. Now they are in different camps, Amaechi still feels he has to revenge Wike for what he did to him in 2015. Until they reconcile or any of them loses power completely, peace may still be far from Rivers State. |
Iyajison:Did he actually say that? |
Zombiekiller010:You dey mind them? As it is now, there will be at least one PDP governor in each of the 6 geopolitical zones starting from May 29th, but same can't be said of APC as there won't be an APC governor in the South East. |
Justpd:I'm still amazed. In 2015, PDP lost to APC in the presidential election with about 2.6 million votes but won only 2 states in the North. 4 years later, they told us Atiku (a fellow northerner) lost to Buhari with even a greater margin, yet PDP has claimed 5 Northern states (and narrowly missed Kano cos of rigging by Ganduje). How can somebody tell me that presidential election wasn't rigged? |
gift01:Did you hear of any violence in Adamawa today? Did you hear of deployment of thugs by any party? Do I need to remind you that PDP lost Gombe to APC, yet there was no noise anywhere? It's not about PDP losing but the circumstances that led to the loss. If APC beats PDP fair and square like they did in Gombe, Plateau etc, nobody will complain. |
ifeelgood:So what has APC done in 4 years? Are you aware that more soldiers have died in the hands of BH in these past 4 years than between 2011 and 2015? |
rentAcock:Bros, the statement in bold is simply IMPOSSIBLE!!! |
Not Sorry for the pains you brought upon your self this time around Dr Kenny. So don't get worked uo! We give you whatever you ask for at anytime kennydoc, as you can see. Our response to your foolish comment today is different from the response you got yesterday. Be guided Doc!
Young man, I don't give a rat's ass about your response. I am equal to the task, insult for insult, abuse for abuse. If we meet ourselves face to face, I will look you eyeball to eyeball and say my mind. You and your APC colleagues have been insulting Saraki all over social media as being a clog in the wheel of the phantom progress of Buhari's 1st tenure, but facts on ground show otherwise, that Saraki led one of the most successful National Assembly since the return of democracy. His only ill is that he refused to be manipulated by Buhari's presidency. |
Can you SHUT up and get off our mention for once! We don't converse with losers and people that lack morals!
And who do you think you are? You and your ilks are clear examples of people who lack morals. Justice, fairness and equity are far from you. Value for human life is completely alien to all of you. What do you know about morals? Get out!! |
This is a very good sign of good things to come.
People like you and your party members believe Saraki's 8th National Assembly is the worst, simply because he didn't allow himself asslick Buhari. |
My only joy is that many Kano people and people from other parts of the North are angry with Buhari now. If he ends up losing the case, there won't likely be any protests and killing of innocent Southerners in the North, as some of us used to fear. |
Amitez:President - Muslim Senate President - Muslim Speaker - Muslim Let's not forget that Acting CJN is now Muslim. All the heads of security outfit apart from Navy are Muslims. Would Northern Muslims and MURIC members have accepted the situation if the reverse was the case? That's one of the reasons why PDP is far better than APC. PDP is always sensitive about the balance of religion and geopolitical zones in power sharing. |
senatordave1:Once PDP wins, they will buy the MRDP (or whatever the name is) guys over, and they will withdraw the case from the court, the same way the AAC deputy guber candidate was bought over into PDP. That will mark the end of the game for Adamawa APC and Bindow. |
senatordave1:That's what you guys want, so that you can do an Osun or a Kano in the repeat elections. Hopeless party that relies on violence sponsored by security agencies to win elections. |
Iyajison:He has relocated to Warsaw, his new constituency. ![]() |
Awol1:You think as deputy guber candidate, he doesn't know his party is losing? Moreover, he said Amaechi made him sign an undertaking that he would resign if they win, so that Amaechi will put his own loyal candidate in his place. |
