agbameta: LWKMD......LMAOu are needed at the Xmas light thread in akwa ibom. Not all those kirikiri tnz fashola did. |
And to all the uninformed ppl on this thread, masquarades are majorly cultural not religious or paganism. . @ Rossike, my own creation story did not involve sky diving. Speak for ur self. |
Nightshift: I was hoping to see the big scaring masquerades - Ijele, Okpoma, Ogbangbada, etc .Nwoke be anyi o, I na efu maka mma enyashi? |
@ OP, its no brainer. We igbos know that's what u think, only that it won't work for u as far as 2015 is concerned. U are moved by cowardice because buhari commanded u to come and join him so that the northerners dreams can be achieved. After which they wl frustrate u like they did Awo and Abiola. U guys never learn. Foresight my left yansh. OBJ the only proper Yoruba president did not receive any Yoruba support in 1999, so where is the evidence of all the political sophistication u want us to bliv in? mtchew |
And finally Agbameta has been covered with sand |
TribalEAST: if it were for the igbos alone, it would have been called igbowood but it is called Nollywood and the N stands for nigeria just like G in Ghollywood stands for ghana, or do you see the ashantis laying sole claim to ghollywood? We are talking of English nollywood, its owned by igbos. Mere presence of few Yoruba actors doesn't amount to ownership. U ppl were the ones saying that igbos now act in Yoruba movies, does that mean igbos own Yoruba nollywood? . The only kwanta there is that 2moro, Yoruba will start whinning that igbos want to dominate them in their own industry, u know Una sabi talk that kind insecurity talk. |
Ayekotoo: no one disputes these with you. what I believe they are asking is that yoruba speaking movies are more popular/ better than Igbo speaking movies which are even insignificantsYoruba movies are inexistent in the east while Igbo movies are there. Igbos in SS/SE don't even know yoruba movies exist, those that are even aware say via dstv don't watch it and don't know anything abt it. |
cashkid18: early nollywood movies wia produced in igbo language before igbos decided to start producin in english for it to sell world wideEven at that, Igbo spoken movies are still produced, and it received a big boost in 2013 |
Toks2008: Though this is a digression but it was Yoruba films that laid the foundation of Nollywood before the branding talking about the Herbert ogundes, the Baba salas, the Adeloves, the popular Igbo irumole that Igodo copied and so on.ur ogunde didn't lay the history of the industry, nollywood. Nollywood as an industry started with igbo spoken living in bondage in 92. Igbos were making movies before the living in bondage but the latter went fast to the world and an industry started. |
Yorubas and their prattling. Omotola Jalade featured on Forbes Magazine is arguably d biggest Yoruba actress and never acted Yoruba movies. Who sabi all dis bleached up sikira sindodo, ashewo to re Mecca and other lesbians wey full Ofe-m-m-anu-wood? Even Mercy Johnson of yesterday speaks flawless Igbo and isn't even igbo and bigger than all Ofe-mm-anu-wood ladies. The just concluded BBA had housemates speaking igbo and some African housemates speaking words like chineke, igwe and co. Jim iyke was nearly mobbed the other day in an African country Which of-e-mm-a-n-u actor is that well known in Nigeria let alone cameroon or Kenya. Of-em-ma-nu-wood should chill and make movies to entertain their agbero and bleached up sisters. Igbos don't care.
|
TribalEAST: i told you to mention your igbo seasoned musicians that sing purely in igbo then compare them with these guys: yinka ayefele, lagbaja, pasuma, kwam 1, tope alabi, osupa etc.u will easily pick their names cos they are from ur: village., ppl in SE don't know them. Unless osupa is davido, if u read about sunny bobo, wl u register it in ur memory |
NOLLYWOOD IS NOT OWNED BY THE IGBOS... OLU JACOB, JIBOLA DABO, OMOTOLA JOLADE EKEINDE, BISI KUDIRAT...JUST TO MENTION FEW... THOSE ARTISTES ARE THE CREAM OF NOLLYWOOD MOVIES N THEY ARE ROOTED FROM YORUBA TRIBE ...... MOST OF YOUR PEOPLE(IBO ARTISTES) ARE SHOWING KEEN INTEREST TO YORUBA MOVIES...
I think ur case is now irreparable since u can afford to say that yorubas are the cream of English nollywood. Goodluck in ur fantasies . Acting is not ownership btw. if olu Jacob is acting, does his role go beyond collecting his wages for the igwe he played? does that mean he owns anything |
You're absolutely correct man. I havn't FOR ONCE seen a movie store where they lease/sell yoruba movies in the SE.
And they want to use ogbomosho to rate whether igbos produce their movies. Presently, they have started mass production of Igbo movies again. And they are a lot richer |
WHICH CULTURE ARE U EXPORTING WITH UR NOLLYWOOD MOVIES? U NOLLYWOOD IS THE COMBINATION OF YORUBA, IGBO N HAUSA ... OMOTOLA JOLADE, GENEVIEVE NAJI, HALIMA ABUBAKAR..... JUST TO MENTION FEW IBO CULTURE IS NOTHING TO WRITE ABOUT...
Igbo culture is the only visible culture in exported nollywood. Ranging from dressing, food, vernacular, festivals to every other thing. Olu Jacobs acts igwe, not alafin. if omotola were to bear a local name, its most likely Amaka. Its like u don't know how the coverage of English nollywood worldwide. Its no 1 in Africa to start with. |
TribalEAST: hey kid, reason well.ngwa, keep deceiving urself. Even Yoruba movie makers understand Igbo owns nollywood and talk about it. The other day, they were a cussing igbos of marginalizing them. Are olu Jacobs and omotola not in the English section again? That we accepted to employ ur ppl doesn't mean the status quo changed in anyway. So, what about the Igbo soaps of Clinic matters, Masquarade, and so many others on TV? . My dear, we have mainstream nollywood |
paranorman: The easiest in nigeria is either hausa or yoruba.. Talkin from experience mehn..All the tnz u mentioned up there is applicable to all southern nig languages |
Odenigbo Aroli: This is a big fat lie from the pit of hell. Imo Igbo is the most complicated Igbo! I will say this, the only Igboman who speaks his core dialect and everybody understands is an Anambrarian. I can't understant an Owerri man,Mbaise and even the otuocha people. Igbo movies are acted in Anambra Igbo so everybody can understand. Stop spreading falsehood!lol at otuocha ppl |
TribalEAST: we read newspapers and watch cable TV everyday, how come its only flavor and other yoruba indigenous singers we see? Where are the other igbo musicians? Who are they? Do they sell albums? Are they sleeping? Why cant they succeed in lagos? (succeeding in lagos is succeeding africa). Are they ghosts? Why arent they recognised? Maybe cos they are palm wine joint singers. And am telling u that u are staying in the village if u think flavour is the only person singing in Igbo Lang. Who even knows those yorubas u mentioned up there? U left davido, and few others and went and started listing ur village singers . And u think igbos don't have their own indigenous singers? are u in igboland? Who knows those of ur village ppl in the east? |
tintingz: My question is why do igbos use english in their movies why not in igbo language??There are plenty of 2013 Igbo spoken moves in my house. Who told u they don't make Igbo movies? If not that I was in Lagos in 2006, would I have know Yoruba movies exist at all. Yoruba movies are inexistent in igboland |
tintingz: The rate of comments so far on easier language in NigeriaI agree with u. On popular consensus, Hausa is the easiest and Igbo hardest. Dats how this thread shd have gone, not some insecure ppl coming to compare and contrast with igbos |
FreeGlobe: ilegun kid what Aurthur Eze said is the truth. Yorubas politicians can go and die. Stop taking it personal. Last time I checked yorubas never made anybody presidenthelp me out |
FreeGlobe: As if anambrarians were allowed to vote. Are you talking the same people that voted him massively under ACN in the Senate? Anambra people want Ngige regardless of his party. you saw it play out in the last electionNgige had his 2003 elections rigged for him too |
ilugunboy: Keep making noise....the greatest wish of GEJ today is to have the SW, unfortunately that is a pipe-dream.Insecurity An average Yoruba man wishes evil will befall a whole tribe soon. What a grp of i insecure ppl. . anambra local politics dismantled all the political sophistication in APC. sophistication my foot |
gurnam: Where? In Anamabra ? The campaign words used in Anamabra will be GEJ undoing in the SW.I was talking abt the way APC was removed in anambra. Moreover, who cares abt the propaganda u are planning against gej? Arthur or not, did u want to vote gej before |
Dollarjunkie: Yet he looks more healthy than ogbeni Rauf.Aregbe that looks malnourished and diseased. |
geeez: Just like you were also concerned with OBJ's family affair when Iyabo wrote him a letterSame way foreigners leave their lands flowing with honey and come to make profit in Nigeria. Are igbos not everywhere in the world, what's all these about Lagos? What abt those that left Ogun, ekiti, Oyo. to come and beg/tout in Lagos. Are there not motor parks in Oyo, etc? So much for human indices devt. SE has two states in the cashless policy, what have u? |
geeez: Chime's performance is no where near Fashola's, Amosun's and Aregbesola'sYorubas are the worst marriage handlers. Don't go there. Who are amosun and aregbesola again? |
ilugunboy: Funny old man.....Local politics that dismantled ur sophisticated politics. lwkmd |
phase1: and the 'my d1ck is bigger than yours' comparison goes on. Yoruba! chai!Ask him how many Igbo singers he knows abt? If he knows only flavor, then he must be living in all those Yoruba villages called towns. . Its better the yorubas in this thread face this topic than using it for another e- bashing object |
Ohraybs: I am personally attacking you here,Igbo of all Languages,Chai,my friend igbo is not recognised at all in the world..Yoruba is the most Language recognised in the world,Yoruba is the only course being accredited in Some American Universities for students to go study........Let's talk bout Nollywood aspect, after English,Yoruba Movie is the next cos I barely see Igbo movie in market, xcept ur states, and rite nw sef Yoruba movie don dey take over English sef cos almost all d English Actors and Actresses are comin over to Yoruba...........Lies. Self consolation, which Yoruba nollywood is taking over English. Lwkmd. Do we see Yoruba movies in the east/SS? No . So stop thinking that what is obtainable in ur land is the sane elsewhere. If u actually see Igbo movies in ur areas, then u have to ponder on some things u wrote up there. |
YORUBA LANGUAGE IS THE EASIEST NIGERIA LANGUAGE TO LEARN. MAJORITY OF NIGERIA ARTISTES USES YORUBA LANGUAGE IN THEIR LYRICS NOLLYWOOD MOVIES (ENGLISH ) USES YORUBA LANGUAGE SOMETIMES IN THEIR SCRIPT ..... YORUBA LANGUAGE IS ALSO SPOKEN IN EDO, DELTA......... ..
English nollywood uses Igbo as the second language, don't get it twisted. |
