Engineers should do proper sizing/dimensioning of any electrical project they are about to carry out, they must not settle for less i.e all materials used for installation should be of quality standard that itself is a control mechanism. But we know in 9ja after inflating the quotation for a project some will still buy low quality goods at a far lesser price to gain more.

Secondly,proper routine inspection for faults and maintenance should be carried out as scheduled (weekly preferably) you don't need to be an engineer to be told this is an important control measure which is often neglected of which when carried out 90% of incidents like this fire could be avoided..

NB: I'm not an expert in electronic billboards just giving my opinion from my experience as anyone in the field of engineering will do, others might have a different view.

Definitely electrical fault.
Possible culprits:
1.Spark (Electric Arc) caused by loose electrical contacts.
2. Bad wiring i.e using cable with smaller dimension for wiring that demands larger dimension.
3. Use of fake protective device (fuse,circuit breakers e.t.c)
4. Exposed wires coming in contact and causing a spark.

I save 20 to 25 percent monthly (when my siblings and girlfriend don't ask for assistance)! F**king house rent prevents me from saving even more, 30% monthly for the house rent ! Need to start my house project sef and save me some cost after completion but with demolition here and there in Abuja me no want fall victim ooo!
