XYZZ: House, how do one pay the visa fees, is it cash in naira or $ ? Or POS?
You pay the visa fee by cash on the day of your interview. You either pay in dollars which is $330 or the naira equivalent @ N165 to $1.

G2Glory: Thank you for that piece of information but i need clarification on the statement"photocopy' of all documents. Does it include the police report which i presume should be a confidential.

For the spouse of principal applicant: My birth certificate was issued by local govt in mid 70's & just to find out if i need to do the NPC one.

My spouse (principal applicant) already obtained the one from NPC & need to know if it's a must that i get the NPC birth certificate as well.
For me, I'd advice you get your NPC birth certificate. I did for both my spouse and I for 6k in Benin @ 3k each. It's not much of a financial burden for one extra one. This is just to be on the safe side to avoid any eventualities o. Then about this '92 stuff, I don't know about it.

Some time ago, a question was raised almost similar to yours in www.nairaland.com/1359935/u.s-consular-officer-ask-me thread, below was the visaofficer's response:
Good morning! We do recognize NECO results. Applicants must have 5 scores of 5 or better in 5 different subjects on the WAEC, SSCE, NECO, or NABTEB certified exams; or they can qualify with a BSC degree, HND, or OND from an accredited university or polytechnic institution. The WAEC or NECO subjects must be academic subjects (for instance, English, biology, math, etc.). Trade subjects, such as plumbing or garment making, do not count for the DV program. We really, really like it when applicants bring scratch cards so we can verify their results. smiley Good luck!

G2Glory: :

For children below 14 years. The consultation fee is 7k. Anybody above 14 years pay 12K as consultation fee.

The children that we paid 31K was close to 2 years while those one 5-8 years we paid 6,500 naira for vaccination (we went there wit their immunization records). For adult we paid 2k for vaccination.

Ensure you go there with photocopy of your biodata page(all of you), photocopy of medical records & 2 passport photographs & be ready to pay your consultation fee at Zenith bank (Awolowo Rd branch, opposite barrack) is very close. Please ensure your run copies of your medical records to save time.

Please prepare to spend sometime there as it might be challeging at times with those people there, !!!!!!lol!!!!!!!!. We got there as early as 6am & not allowed to drive bc they inform that they start attending to people by 8am but it cools & they allow us in later.

We are unable to use POS that day & we got to make payment for consultation fee at Zenith bank, other payment is made there.

Do not forget to register your name as you enter because you will be attended to based on that list.

God bless us ALL IJN.
Beautiful piece.

Dmo4real: Pls, abt d police or no police report i dnt knw hw true is it bt i learnt dat we can also obtain it from our local police station or is it compulsory we get it from their headquater.
jollyiwin: +am doing mine in my state CID.thats what many did and there where no complains.
Plus, you will be made to pay extra. Confirm that please. I think since the police report just takes a day(as matter of fact hours) to process and collect, you can do that when you come to Lagos to do your medicals as it's only in Lagos you can do that. When you come do your medicals at The Children's Practice, the police is not far from there. Most folks in DV2013 did same, I see no point in rushing over it and incurring more cost. What say you e-family?

principo: Got to d embassy before 6a.m.almost started the day on a worried note as my daughter started having a runny stomach.very worried but God took control.screening started by 6:15.no handsets, powder, comb, charger, spoon, baby food, water,or any form of makeup at all is allowed.if any is found on u,look for where to keep it n join the queue all over again.screened in three places b4 entering the hall.at the 3rd stage,u might have to give up your belt.i had to take off my wristwatch n put it in my bag but still wasn't allowed to go in because there were two blades in my purse.found one but couldn't find the other n was held up.i.had to keep apologizing,at the end they let me go despite not being able to detect where it is.finally got in,n my husband went to pay for the visa fees,218 for 4ppl.then he was called to window 21 for documentation.windows 13,14&15 were opened for immigrants.window 13,the dreaded white co i have read of from 2013thread,window 14 the black angel,n 15 a white man.after about 30 mins,my husband and i noticed the white co in 13had our forms with her.not too long ,our number flashed.we went to her full of smiles,n she was full of smiles in return.very
friendly.the following dialogue ensued:co-good morning.us-good morning, how was your night?replied.co then asked 3ques n that was all.1-highest qualification, present employment, how long have you guys been married?asked me to help fill some info we left unfilled in the children's form.congratulated us n didn't even bother to ask for the pics.visa to b collected next week.sorry for the epistle.
Congrats, we key into this. This is not epistle. We like it more detailed. Thanks.

Boomshakar: Good morning house please already i have
birth
certificate from the local government
council of my state. Please I want to know
if it is still necessary/compulsory to get
the one from NPC. Thanks
Yes it is both necessary/compulsory to get the NPC to be on the safe side. NPC is just 3000 in Benin City, other places could be cheaper or higher. But overall, it shouldn't cost you more than 5k. So it's not too expensive to get it as far as I am concerned o. Just prepare safely, don't look at the cost implications at times, cos this is an opportunity offered to you on a platter of gold.

ernestleon: Day 1:
8am-at the medical centre Naples I did all the required stuff and vaccination (2 vaccines)
2pm- at the General consulate for digital fingerprints.Went through security checks and then we were ushered in.Getting inside,I took my sit and waited for my number to be called and after 10 minutes "number 5, numero 5" I heard, immediately I stood up and walked to the window. "Passport and interview letter please" she asked ; quickly I submitted them. She looked at the passport and the computer and she talked to her colleague then she turned to me saying "I'm sorry we technically can't take your fingerprints today because we don't have authorization yet from the U.S, tomorrow please come 7:30am and we will do it before your interview."
Day 2: 6:45am I arrived at the General consulate looking at the Mediterranean sea with U.S. soldiers outside patrolling around the consulate looking for the next bin laden; we went through same security protocols and finally in the hall again with 16 persons and I was the only African and the only dv winner so I was the first to be approved in Italy this fiscal year.
I took my sit and waited for my number to be called and it got to my turn I submitted the documents and she asked if I had any document from my university fortunately I was with my student handbook for credits exams and grades registration. She took it and then we did the fingerprints and she gave me an envelope(containing medical results and x-ray in a disc ) coming from the medical centre saying " give this to the officer when you get to the U.S. " .I went further with the payment of the visa fee which was 264 EUR and then I took my sit again. The interview started and it seems pregnant women and families with babies were called first.
finally it got to my turn and I stood up approaching the window I thought I saw Peter crouch because they look similar.I did fingerprints again and then the oath.
Co:Congratulations again for your selection as a winner.
Me:Thank you
Co:I'm going to ask you some couple of questions
Me:Ok
Co:Where were you born?
Me:I was born in Benin city,Edo state,Nigeria.
Co:Benin as in Benin republic?
Me:No Benin as in Benin city.
Co:Ok, how long have you been here in Italy and when did you leave Nigeria?
Me:I have been here for 2years and I left Nigeria 2011 18 August.
Co:Oh great! when were you born?
Me:I was born 7th September 1993
Co:woah you are very young.Tell me where did you school?
Me:I did high school in Nigeria and I'm schooling here in Italy.
Co:When did you finish high school?
Me:2008
Co:Waoh you were like 15 then.
Me:Yes I was 15.
Co:so tell me when do people normally finish high school in Nigeria?
Me:It depends on one's intellectual capabilities and finance. Some may finish at 18 some 15 some 17.I was promoted at some certain point.
Co:I can see that you are among the intellects(looking at my university grades and my waec grades) tell me what was your best subject?
Me:Economics
Co:Fantastic, I can see that's what you are studying at the university. (looking at my university handbook where exam grades are recorded)So when did you get into the university?
Me:September 2012 but it became official in October.
Co:What did you do before you were admitted?
Me:I worked for a vine producing firm.
Co:What year are you in the university?
Me:2year.
Co:Great! now 2year and 1 year left for you to graduate, what are your plans?
Me:I'm working on a transcript.
Co:perfect.Michigan, what's there?
Me:my uncle.
Co:Can you stay with him
Me:Yes
Co:what does he do?
Me:he is a pharmacist.
Me:please can I correct something ?
Co:sure
Me:I wrongly spelt the address of my uncle and there was a wrong date of school on my dsp form.
Co:Ok, I will correct that.(he corrected it and signed close to it)
Co:Ok Mr Ernest I will have to type somethings please wait.
Me:ok
after a minute
Co:Mr Ernest do you have any id from your university other than the handbook for grade recording?
Me:Normally my university don't have id,the official Id is the student handbook for exams, credits and grades registration. but sure I brought alternative.(An Id from the bursary department in my school)
Co:Great let me take a copy please.
Co:Please take a sit I will call you shortly.
Me:ok thank you(smiling)
after 3minutes
Co:ok mr Ernest I want to tell you that your visa has been approved and it will be printed tomorrow so you can go to the address my colleague gave to you at 5pm tomorrow.
Me:thank you.

As far as I know, there's no issue there. As long as they join the principal applicant later before the expiration of their visas. Note their medicals needs to be valid before they jet out also, so they won't have to do it over there which would be expensive.
