tosinjoe: Hello house, I need ur advice on this, I played d lottery as single but got married January ds year, d issue is that my wife stays in the uk, how do I get her form across to her to fill, note I hav a high case number, 16***, do I still stand a chance? Thanks
Good morning. Please give her the link to where she can download the form. She needs Adobe Reader XI to be able to fill the form on the system, save it before printing it. Then she will sign the part she has to sign i.e. Part I of the form and leave Part II. After that, she'd need to send the form as well as her passports photograph to you, so that you include it with yours before sending it to KCC via courier which you can track. Never send yours separately and hers later; disqualification.
Take care.

G2Glory: My Fellow Forumities,
Good morning to you all and we are highly excited to inform the house that we had a successful & wonderful interview this morning.

It is the Lord's doing & it's marvelous in our sight. I am very grateful for the exprience/advice shared on this forum. By the grace of God almighty we shall all end with shouting of rejoicing in Jesus name.

Now, our Itinerary:

Pre_interview Activities:
- All documentation were properly arranged with Principal applicant leading.
- Ensured the originals & Photocopies (Birth certificate, Police report, School Certificates & Medicals) are in order.
- We ensure no document(s) was missing & did a thourogh check before leaving.
- We had a review all the forms sent KCC & had a dry run interview with my spouse for consistency.
- We got the children involved by reminding them of their birthdays.
-We prayed & sought for God's favour & help before leaving home.
-We had a baby after sending our forms to KCC & we had notified them (LagosIV) before the interview date.
-We prepared his own DS230 form & presented it at the venue.
- We left home early enough & arrived at embassy by 5.45am and drove in with the entire family.

At the Embassy:
By 6am, we moved in & there was a briefing & 2 lines were formed for Immigrant & Non-Immigrant
- Were instructed to remove phones, electronic gadgets, oil, liquid, metal object but i was allowed in with my car key.
- Were instructed to please open your medical envelopes (All seal envelopes must be opened & failure to do that point may resulted in turning you back - pls be attentive to the instruction)
- At first point: Principal applicant was called & requested for 2NL, then we were given a slip for payment, blue tags & number was given to us.
- Another slip was given to us to fill in Principal applicant name, email & Address.
- Next we got seated & waited for security checks (Pls ensure you abide the instruction to do away those items that are forbidden).
- We moved inside for final security check (scanning machine) before we were ushered into the hall.
- As you entered, you will be given a number that will serve you for the day. Immigrant applicant were other to seat separately.
- We waited patiently until they called our number for payment - we did that in USD & issued a receipt (don't misplace it).
- We got seated & waited for sometime before they started attending to Immigrant visa.
- About six(6) families came this morning & first two families were granted.
- About few minutes to 9am, my spouse was called & moved toward the counter with new baby & i was called as well.
- We were told to raise up our right hand make an oath to say the truth & we did accordingly. All forms were given to us to sign & either of us signed for the children.
- Our fingreprints were taken. I was instructed to go & sit down while my spouse was to be interviewed.
- The conversation goes thus:

CO: Your name?
Spouse: Answer according

CO: when did u get married?
Spouse: Answer accordingly

CO: Where do u work & what is your role?
Spouse:Answer accordingly

CO: You had a baby after submitting your form to KCC & what are the proof to show?
Spouse: DS 230 form was submitted & signed there, we presented the photograph for naming, church dedication, photograph showing family members with us during the naming, etc

CO: Have been to US?
Spouse: No

Now the CO called me for clarification:
CO: Have u been to US before?
Me: No

CO: You have a valid visa & why have you not used it?
Me: I explained that i was to go for a conference but had to postpone to later date.

CO: She said CONRATULATIONS. Brought 2 papers & handed it over to my spouse & explained what we need to do. All our originals were returned.

Spouse: Bursted to laughter & we gave all glory to GOD for this milestone.

Lesson & Advice for Others:

- I saw someone that came with passport phoograph that did not meet specification. Pls adhere to instruction. The person was lucky & was told to go out & take a correct one.

- Someone international passport dropped from his enveloped & never knew only for someone to find it & return it to the security guys.

-Pls avoid anything that can put on pressure & ensure that you arrnge your document very well.

- For us, they did not collect the photocpies of police report i strongly advice you go with it on the day of interview.
- Stay focus & don't manipulate in any way & by the grace of GOD we all stand 99.999% of getting if you meet the requirement.

More gist later, i need to go - GOD us all.
Hmm, like I was reading a book. Congrats bro. We key into your success.

Obatide: Happy weekend to everybody, GOD blessed my family with a new baby recently and I have been busy with some other schedules recently, that's why I have not posted here since.

Congratulations to all members who got their 2nd NL recently including my family's own that came the second day after birth of our new baby, God will grant us all, successful interview.

To those who have gone for medicals & police reports, congrats, may we all have successful interview by God's Grace.

However, I observed the low percentage of interview testimonies here in this October, is that people were not that current or they are concealing the works of GOD?

Lets endeavor to share as they all help others
Happy weekend to you and members of your family too. Congrats on the addition to your family.

caseless: i think he's married. oyibo boys nor de misbehave when the world is at their feet....na we dey do that one.
bought a whole neighborhood ? him own don pass bekiaful!
FACEBOOK founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has splashed out $US30 million ($31.82 million) dollars to buy four houses adjacent to his own five-bedroom home.

The San Jose Mercury News reported on Friday that the 29-year-old multibillionaire decided to buy the homes in the ritzy neighbourhood of Palo Alto after discovering a developer planned to buy one of them to build a mansion.

The report said Zuckerberg had no plans to build a "Taj Mahal" on the newly acquired properties, and had in fact leased them back to their original owners.

Zuckerberg, whose fortunes is estimated at $US19 billion, reportedly paid $US14.9 million for one of the homes, which was "absurdly high," according to a real estate agent quoted by the article.

However, the price is less surprising "if somebody wants to buy a property and the sellers don't want to sell," agent James Yang said.

Palo Alto is one of the most expensive cities in the United States, and boasts numerous tech moguls among its residents, including Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, and the home of late Apple founder Steve Jobs.

BusinessMark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, Is The Highest Paying CEO In The States by kevweflex(op):
Don’t cry for Mark Zuckerberg. He’s doing just fine.

In fact, according to GMI Ratings’ 2013 CEO Pay Survey, released Tuesday, the Facebook (FB) founder was the highest-paid corporate executive in the country in 2012, bringing home a whopping $2.3 billion in salary, bonuses and stock awards.

Zuckerberg is far from alone in seeing his bank account boosted. According to the report, median compensation among corporate CEOs rose 8.47% from 2011 to 2012, with pay at S&P 500 companies up 19.65%. For the first time ever, the top two CEOs in the survey reported compensation in excess of $1 billion, and all of the executives in the top 10 earned at least $100 million.

The GMI report surveyed 2,259 publicly traded North American companies and 2,250 CEOs who had been on the job for at least two consecutive years.

“Our 2013 CEO pay survey marks a third straight year of significant realized compensation increases for North American CEOs,” GMI wrote in its report. “Indeed, the median change in realized compensation from 2011 to 2012 was more than 8%, less than the double-digit increases of the prior two years but still substantial. However, with minimal increases in Total Annual Compensation across our sample, including base salary, the primary trend throughout the survey is that large pay increases in 2012 were mainly fueled by the exercise of large blocks of stock options and the vesting of outsized restricted stock grants.”

Zuckerberg himself helped prove that point, taking home “just” $503,205 in base salary, but realizing more than $2.276 billion in profits after exercising 60 million stock options.

Here are the top 10 U.S. CEOs in terms of compensation, according to the GMI report.

1. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook -- $2,278,668,214

2. Richard Kinder, Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI) -- $1,116,685,089

3. Mel Karmazin, Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) -- $255,355,676

4. Greg Maffei, Liberty Media Corp. (LMCA) -- $254,890,638

5. Tim Cook, Apple (AAPL) -- $143,828,867

6. Edward Stack, Dick’s Sporting Goods (DKS) -- $142,052,496

7. Greg Maffei, Liberty Interactive (LINTA) -- $136,450,484 (in addition to his compensation for serving as CEO of Liberty Media)

8. Howard Schultz, Starbucks (SBUX) -- $117,562,601

9. Marc Benioff, Salesforce.com (CRM) -- $109,544,875

10. Frank Coyne, Verisk Analytics (VRSK) -- $100,432,117

Malcolm28: Dear Forumites,
My interview is in the early days of December and I have some concerns I'd like the gurus in the house to throw some light on:
1. I hold 2 Masters Degrees (MBA and MSC) whose certificates I did not bother to collect all the while cos of the tedious processes involved, my lack of available time to do that and the fact that I didn't need them all the while as I am self employed. Now with the lingering ASUU strike, its become very difficult to get the certificates or statement of results. Will a "to whom it may concern" note which I collected a while ago do for the purpose of the interview should I not be able to obtain the certificates before the interview?
2. In the forms I sent to KCC, the portions where I was required to provide the name and address of the place I am going to reside on arrival to the US, I answered "not yet known" because at the time I was still discussing with possible hosts. Now I have the full address of where I will be staying. Do I need to send a mail to the embassy to update this piece of information on my forms or do I wait and update that at the embassy during my interview? My interview notification letter (2nl) is already with me.
thanks.
Good day. It's been a while.
1. Just explain what you've just written on '1' above and go with the 'to whom it may concern', and if you've got the notification of result or whatever the school may have used to notify you of the degree, go along with it as well. With these, I am very positive you are ok. They are aware of the ASUU strike.
2. You can update the the address on the day of your interview.
Cheers! Wish you success on your interview.

Travel2 Nigerian Students Back Home After Over A Year In Hiding In Canada by kevweflex(op): 7:45pm On Oct 20, 2013
2 Nigerian girls who have been in trouble with immigration authorities in Canada since June 2012 after they were caught working in Walmart.

The girls, who were students of University of Regina, had student visas which only permitted them to work only on campus and not outside. They didn’t know working outside campus was not permitted under the terms of their student visas and when they were caught, they were put under a deportation order. (Read the full story here)

Victoria Ordu and Favour Amadi (pictured below), have been in hiding for more than a year and took refuge in four different city churches hoping that the Canadian authorities will forgive them…but that didn’t happen. The authorities refused to budge and the girls had no choice but to return to Nigeria. They left Saskatchewan yesterday Friday Oct 18th. They were scheduled to get on a plane to Nigeria last night, so they should be here by now..

According to the BBC, the University of Regina President, Vianne Timmons, was at the airport to say good-bye to the ladies. Timmons said the girls left voluntarily in the hope that doing so would allow them to return to Canada later. The University is vowing to help the students come back.

HealthUNBELIEVABLE: SEE What Sleeping Can Do To Your Brain! by kevweflex(op): 8:44pm On Oct 18, 2013
Research have shown that the brain uses sleep to wash away the waste toxins built up during a hard day's thinking.
"Waste removal system" is one of the fundamental reasons for sleep, the team of U.S. researchers believe.
Their study, in the journal Science, showed brain cells shrink during sleep to open up the gaps between neurons and allow fluid to wash the brain clean.
They also suggest that failing to clear away some toxic proteins may play a role in brain disorders.
It has been shown to have a big role in the fixing of memories in the brain and learning, but a team at the University of Rochester Medical Centre believe that"housework" may be one of the primary reasons for sleep.
"The brain only has limited energy at its disposal and it appears that it must choose between two different functional states - awake and aware or asleep and cleaning up," said researcher Dr Maiken Nedergaard.
