toye88: Hi Guys,

Please what is the Alien number (A-Number) and the Department of State (DOS) Case ID number
Alien Registration Number (“A” Number) or Alien Number
A unique seven-, eight- or nine-digit number assigned to a non-citizen at the time his or her A-file is created. The 9-digit U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services number listed on the front of Permanent Resident Cards (Form I-551) issued after May 10, 2010, is the same as the Alien Registration Number. The A-number can also be found on the back of these Permanent Resident Cards.
You can find the A-number by reading the visa. Below IV Case Number, you will see Registration Number. This number is the A-number. The A-number should be 9 digits including the A. If it is 8 digits, just add a "0" between A and the following number.
To get the DOS ID number, you need to open an account on USCIS ELIS

Firewami: Thank alot for all ur numerous counsels on this forum, pls do i still need to print the back code sheet and submit it with our application, is it a must? The reason is that the agent that played for us does not want to release the confirmation code to us and without the confirmation code i can't have access to the back code sheet. The agent is pestering me for N200k, which i'v being persuading him to wait until d visa is granted, can i go ahead with processing since i have case number and selection letter with me?
Good day!
Submitting your documents: Submit each completed form listed above and photographs for yourself and your family members to the address below. In addition, be sure to include the barcode sheet from your original selectee notification letter. excerpt from http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4759.html

The selection letter you referred to above which I have seen, is suppose to include the bar code as well. But in case you need to print it out yourself from the net, good news is that you can do that without having your confirmation code. If you know the email address, date of birth and full name used in the initial eDV entry, you can go here: https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC/%28S%283ir1sj4545m0noz2tg3wyf31%29%29/Secure/RetrieveConfirmation.aspx to get your 1NL.

With this, you can say bye bye to the f.a.g.g.o.t agent. He's not needed.

Takia!

geogec: Gud day mr forumites, am new on this forum but I need some help here. 1. My wife was selected but there are some area we are having challenges 1. The D of B in her GCE result is not her really D of B. So what do we do about it. 2. I want to know she should be expecting her 2NL her no is 2014******88** and if the letter comes hw long will it take you to go for the interview. 3 the medical test and the police clearance can one do it and get it one week to the interview date. Thanks please I need ur response
Greetings!

1. The DOB thing in WAEC certificates is not unique to her, so an affidavit from the court would just take care of that.
2. The way the bulletin is going lately is kinda unpredictable to me now, but all things being equal, she should be current say February tentatively, if not March. So it is when she checks every 10th of every month here: http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html and discovers she's current before she starts expecting her 2NL. 2NL normally arrives at least 4-6 weeks to interview. It can be earlier than that sometimes anyway. This gives you ample time to put all civil, academics, etc documents in order.
From (2) above, I think you should be able to deduce when to start expecting 2NL.
3. Yes you can do it one week before interview, but to be on a safe side, I advice 2 weeks before interview as most forumites that have gone for interview did, you don't wanna have any eventualities, do you?

Cheers!

phatdon4u: Hi forumites! A friend of mine got a mail from kcc dat her info is incomplete. pls in wat format will she reply the mail stating the missing info its urgent plsssssss
She will need to fill the DS-230 from all over again, and input the missing info. If she's the primary applicant, she would also fill that all over as well providing the missing info. She would then print them out, put her case number on the upper right corner of the forms and any addendum if applicable. Sign on where she's required to sign now. Then she would scan all docs, insert them to a Microsoft Word file she would create (this would enable KCC to print it as it is, not a large-out-of-margin document), save them. Then she would have to attach them to email and send to KCC.
I don't think KCC would input anything on your forms for you, it should be against policy. For you to update any info, you need to send forms all over again.

PS: If she has PDF printer driver installed in her system, she can print them all in pdf format, attach and send to KCC.

Sure this helps.
Cheerio!

mr rule: please is it any way one can change his contact person address is US after recivin 2NL
Yes, during your interview. After a successful interview, give the address to the CO, telling him/her you wish to change your contact person's address in the USA. Btw, you may also go with it when you are jetting out and give it to the CBP officer or whoever it is to update it for you.

Cheers

Atandaishola794: @kevwe-flex Thanks very much for your response. May God bless u. I've checked the instruction and found as u explained. But what is 1NL and 2NL? Kindly explain.
It's our own informal way of referring to 1st Notification Letter (1NL) which is what you got notifying you that you were selected; 2nd Notification Letter (2NL) which would be your interview/appointment invitation. Did you get it now?

Atandaishola794: Dear forumites, pls help me out. I am an HND holder but had only 4 credits in my WAEC and also dont have a testimonial. Will this affect me in my interview?
You already have HND which now is your highest qualification (The principal diversity visa applicant must have a high school education, or its equivalent, or two years of qualifying work experience, under provisions of United States (U.S.) law. This was explained in the DV Instructions for your eDV entry.High School Education: A high school education means successful completion of a formal course of elementary and secondary education comparable to completion of a 12-year course in the U.S. ). Just be prepared to prove your HND courses and probably project work.

gokman4u: Good forumites,
Pls what can a DV2014 selectee that forgot his email address password do?
He's not computer literate and the email was opened for him by someone long ago before he even played d DV lottery.
Its a gmail account
The option of password recovery is daisy for him becos he cannot answer password recovery questions.
He sent his forms 2 KCC with d email add and he is awaiting 2NL.
Pls what can he do?
Pls help.....
Like jollyiwin said, since he can't access the email, do timely check on the DV lottery Entry Status Check: https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC/Secure/StatusCheck.aspx for your 2NL, it would be there when it drops. I also thunk he should open a new email account for subsequent correspondence and discontinue the use of the former.

plz i hv a couple of questions to ask
1) My wife is a 2014 Dv winner,we actually played d lottery as couple bt wt her maiden name since we hv nt done change of name. Nw dt her maiden name hv bn changed, will i use d new name for her int'l passport n oda documents or continue wt d maiden name dt she won wt.
2) She will delivery (By d special Grace of God) within last wk of
Jan,if she is current dn,do u adviced we contact kcc if she hv nt
received her 2NL or wait wn she recieve d 2NL and contact d Lagos
consular office, dis bc i heard dt any update in one's file will affect d time he will receive d 2NL wch i dnt wnt to alter d interview date.
tnks alot,awaiting ur candid responses
Good evening to you too.
1) Check this from someone who has the same issue as you and decide: https://www.nairaland.com/927190/dv-2013-winners-meet-here/805#16888054
2) You can contact KCC if you wish. Now, this talk about 2NL being delayed because of update, is there a prove to that? All I know is that cases are handled in the manner in which they came. Take for example your case file is there and already processed and waiting to be current, then you send KCC an update, they will just include it in your file as well and wait as normal. Your case number also determines when you are current and scheduled for interview. So whether you contact KCC or not, you will still need to fill the DS-230 for your baby anyway to the embassy. So if you are careful about delaying your 2NL, you can wait till you go for your interview.
Hope it helps? Others can contribute.

@bukiema...i will try and list

after the swearing and finger print, the questions asked were:
CO: what are you doing now
ME: Working at...
CO: when did you start working:
ME: 20....
CO:Before now what were you doing
ME: Masters
CO: What skool
Me: Univ....
CO: ohh I love that skool. What is your job function
ME: Risk Mgt
CO: how come you are not doing something related to your course
ME: started working in this particular industry & I have since been there.
CO: ok..thats good

After some few clicks she smiled and told me congratulations and welcome to USA. By the way, the CO was an african american (beautiful lady!)...so I guess my mind was not in the questions being asked cheesy... she then gave me 2 papers (1 for visa pick up, the other USCIS payment).

I forgot to inform you guys that my interview date was shifted. It was initially billed for October 31st, however, I received a call informing me of the new date of 13th Nov... I was a bit annoyed because I felt a mail should have been used to back up the call (for me that was standard going by my training). so i mailed them that same day...the response i got was stunning...I was told I could not reschedule a date after the date advised (13th) and if i missed the interview that would be all. waiting be dis, see me see wahala, na me beg u say make u shift am?...was so furious so I almost sent a stinker mail to them...but after persuasion from my friend and colleague, I dropped the idea...

The cab that took me there had no bright head light... was scared wen we got to 3rd mainland and the whole place was dark...this was arnd 4.45...@bukiemma I tink I have tried...need to get back to work!
Hmm, interesting. No matter what, we always learn from every testimony as they are peculiar. I understand that you may be busy at work. Congrats bro. Which one be stinker mail again? u want stink them? grin

Wellton: Please house I need ur help!... I made a change of name(Surname) after my secondary school in 2001. Now all my documents including my GCE results and first degree are in my current surname since then. And I also wrote NECO SSCE in my current name in 2005 but the results were cancelled
My problem now is that I want to collect my secondary school testimonia and I am confused if I should ask my school to issue my testimonia in my old name or current name. Thanks in advance for ur contributions.
It should be in your old name, since that was what you were using then. There should be consistency in what you say and present. Since you've changed name and can prove you are the same person, you are just fine. The burden of proof is on you.

kemikemmy: [color=#000099]Please i like to know if there is any good advice for a single mother (never married) without children father's name on
children birth certificate that won the lottery. All her form to KCC stated single and only children name included
I've read several post and comment but there is non that answer the question.
She like to know what to do. Any other alternative? or she should just forget about the whole thing.
Please your advice is needed urgently thank you. Under the Visa lottery instruction it is stated that both
parent name must be included.

please help!!!

If 1) The child was included in your initial DV entry
2) You can prove that the child is yours and s/he is really yours,
My sister, I am very certain that you are good to go. Except if and only if you had the child before the initial DV entry and you did not include the child as your derivative and you want to include the child now, my sister, automatic disqualification for you. You may be charged for alien smuggling and face possible permanent ban from entering the States.
My advice: ... I'd rather not say now, I will wait for your response. You may also ask the VisaOfficer via the link Obatide also gave you, he is in the best position to answer you.
TravelRe: DV 2014 Winners Meet Here by kevweflex(m): 10:26pm On Nov 16, 2013
Obatide: Though your question goes to those who have been interviewed, but before they respond, may I try to answer with my little understanding of your question? (though, I pray to have successful interview too very soon)
To start with, beneficiaries are not mandated to submit their evidence of education but if you have it handy, no crime
Also, for Principal Applicant whose certificate is mandated, it is stated that proof/evidence of completion of 12years of education (bolded), which means if you are submitting GCE (being an external exam), a testimonial will be considered but if NECO, WASSCE or Any approved internal exams, Testimonial is not compulsory
Does this help a bit?
kennex89: thanks bro this helps. My wife is just the one that needs to show evidence which i know all her papers are complete and she has her testimonial too.
XYZZ: Please house, for those who are waiting for their interview and those who are waiting for their 2NL, please I beg you fill free to ask any question if you have any challenges or if you need assistance towards your preparation. We that have gone for our interview are in better position to answer questions, they are many people here who will assist. For the fact that u won the lottery and they sent u r 2NL means that they have allocated a visa for. So please always say the truth no matter how silly the truth is. Go and take ur visa.....

@kevwe, maybe u don't take note, after submission of above listed other documents in NPC office, what will convey Your request is that covering letter/application. However, they do refer applicant to manual typist around their office to get it typed at a fee, but trust me, just feel people could have it handy to avoid unnecessary stress & exploitation, which is the primary purpose of this thread.

XYZZ: House, first of all, thank God. And i would like to thank every body in this forum for all your kind encouraging advise and support, its always nice to have people like you guys. I am so grateful to be part of this family.

It always nice to have a strong defence if you are not sure of some documents should the CO ask you about them. I have gone to US embassy sometime in 2007, which i lied that i was in the Nigeria Navy, all in the name of yanky... I also said i was married then but all na lie, anyways they denied my self and 2 of my guys visa. So i was so scared that these will come up. Even my Waec date of birth says 1986 why my International Passport is carrying my real date of birth 1979, i was also sacred that this might come up. To cut the stories, God always have his ways. I thank God cos none of all these errors were asked.

My Interview:

Our Number deep in windows 15:

CO: Good morning Sir
Me: Good morning ma

CO: Are you Mr. XYZZ
ME: Yes ma, and she turned to my wife and asked her the same question

CO: Can you please raise your left hand and say u will say the truth and nothing but the truth?
Me: Yes ma

CO: can i take your finger print
Me: Sure, so she took our finger print:

Co: Whats your highest level of education
Me: XYZ

Co: What year did you get married
Me: XYZ

Co: What’s the date of birth of your son
Me: XYZ

Co: What do you do at work
Me: YXZ

Co: For how long have you been married
Me: XYZ

She started typing and brought out 2 paper and advice us on how to pay our Green Card fee, and said welcome to America; i asked her if that’s all? And she said yes that’s all.

I just want to thank God cos i have been praying and asking God for easy interview and that was what God did for my family, my wife is a lawyer and the CO did not ask her any questions, i was suppressed.

For people that are waiting for their interview, listen the visa is yours go and pick. Texas loading........
