westcodes: Forgive my paranoia but it seems some of the guys posting here asking unnecessary questions also posted on the dv2013 thread as winners. It's confusing, I'm not singling anyone out but looking at some folks profile just gives this impression. I might be wrong though.

biggie1o2: hello House, i need your advice on this.
my younger sis won the lottery for 2014 through an agent, we have collected the details we need from him but he used her wrong date of birth and place of birth. she already has an int'l passport so we are thinkin of redoing a new passport for her.
the issue here is that her fiancee wants to do traditional marriage and court marriage go they can go as a couple, but am looking at the possibilities of it working out at the interview because the dates of marriage will be after she should have submitted the forms back to KCC cos they are about fill the form. so house your advice is reallyu needed here. should she fill the form as single and they proceed with their marriage plans or should she just do everything as single applicant and let her fiancee will follow her on a later date.

komakan: I reside in Abuja then I have to travel to Alagbon in Lagos to get my police report. Dat is not correct. You get it in ur area where U hv lived for six months ur vicinity. I hv lived in America for 6months and Sweden. So I hv to fly there to get police report. Let us be careful with d message.

seubis: Hello house,I m dv 2014 winner with case no 2014AF0002xx.I tried to check on the entrance status check to know if the 2NL has dropped but unfortunately when I entered my confirmation number and other details but the response I got was that the account is locked.pls I m worried because I still checked it yesteday morning and I still saw the 1st NL but when I tried to check back yesteday nite I was told the account is blocked.pls I m worried.help!!!!!!!

Thanks for the all round advice. Well really hope we are not compelled to have the baby here (not a problem if the CO insists but would make a lot of sence if the baby has US citizen straight from birth) if we get the visa and have enough time to travel before the Nov due date for the baby. Would possibly make payment at the hospital in the US and hopefully that would motivate the CO to give us the visa and allow my wife to travel asap to have the baby.

lagdude: Thanks for all round attention,first i need to know the meaning of 2NL,i think the embassy will notify the selectees on the hospital that you will have your medical and also necessary documents that will accompany the selectees for the interview and where is NPC's office in Lagos that i can authenticate our birth cert.

Stillluvnaija: House, My wife has finally become current in Oct.(20140000052**) I have three questions.

(1) When i sent our Forms to KCC in May (after i found we were selected) i included a physical passport photo but i read on the net that the passport should be submitted electronically (i guess via scan). Can someone advise it they anticipate any issue with this. I just printed the forms i filled online and submitted the hardcopy with the hardcopy passport to KCC via courier.

(2) I have original birth certificate do i still need the NPC certificate even though i am not the principal applicant? My wife is the pribncipal applicant and plans to get NPC certificate since she does not have the original birth certificate from birth.

(3) My wife is pregnant and due for delivery on 10th Nov and we would like to have the baby in the US. As i dont know yet when our interview would be in october, i wanted to understand from experienced members how long it takes for visa issuance after the interview.

I would appreciate your advice on this and May God continue to bless you.

lagdude: Thanks for the info, but is it tha KCCDV has sent the forms to the CO here in Lagos or Abuja because October is just like 1 and half months away,like how many months will the selectee be given to prepare their documents for the interview.

VisaOfficer: No offense taken, and you're right -- sometimes we make mistakes. Sometimes we issue to people who shouldn't receive visas, and sometimes we fail to issue visas to people who would be great travellers. We are constantly training and trying to improve, to reduce our number of errors as much as possible. This thread is teaching me a lot and I'm sharing the information with my colleagues, so keep it coming!

VisaOfficer: Sorry, I misread your original post. All you need to qualify from an academic point of view is a high school diploma, so he should be all right there.

Kunlexymoore: Hi my peeps. Just to intimate u guys that we (Myself, Shewen4God and our daughter) arrived America a week ago (North Carolina to be precised) and we had a safe and interesting trip. We thank God for His mercies and ur prayers as well.

We are settling in gradually. We've filed in for our SSN and we were asked to wait for a minimum of 10 days before we get it. We hope to receive both greencard and SSN before month end by His grace cos a lot of things we need to do here depends on those two items.

Lastly, this is for the ladies that won as singles i.e. played with their maiden names. You are expected to effect ur name change on ur passport in Abuja (if u already had a passport before you played)before going for ur interview so the name on ur visa can bear ur husband's name and you wouldn't have to go thru what we went through, trying to change it now in the USA. We travelled to the USCIS office within the state and we were asked to wait for the greencard to come out first after which we will fill a form for change of name and pay $300.00 for them to change the name on the greencard. You need not go thru all these.
