virginofafrica: Please, will they accept statement of result from me. Because my real certificate is not yet ready, your urgent reply will help alot.
I believe WAEC cert is only ready only after 5 yrs from the time you wrote the exams. So I believe they are aware. But have u gone to WAEC to verify first?

Timika: @virginofafrica and @flex. Pls can i be quite about my primary school, cos the first school leaving certificate cant be found in d school where i finished. The head mistress want to give me a cover letter, but my date of birth in the school register is different from wot i am using nw by one yr. The yr i joibned d school is also not correct. And d headmistress insits she wil£ include all those information like that pls help me. Wot do i do?
One thing is certain about the DV lottery, HONESTY which will lead you to your visa and eventually green card. Whatever you are doing, let it be the truth only. if you can't get your First school leaving certificate, leave it but include it as the institution you attended. It's not compulsory. the minimum requirement for eligibility is O' level which I believe you have. Go to WAEC and get your certificate. It's just N2,000. But make sure you don't forge anything at all. Whatever you don't have tell them u don't have and give them good enough reasons why it is missing. You can go with d covering letter from the headmistress to the interview but do not submit it. You can tender it if d need arises. Or you may not be asked about it. So go ahead and submit your forms. Pls ensure all fields are filled properly and put N/A where "Not Applicable".

virginofafrica: please i will advice you to print out the form fill it with you pen. Then sign it. And scan then attach it and send it. I will not advice you for to use adebo xi
After filling with pen, you can actually fill it by typing it directly on the adobe, it makes it legible and neat. |After filling it there, print it, sign it and affix your 2x2 passport photographs and send via courier, but remember to put your CN on the top right side of all the documents. U can also mail it if u wish.

Vikktorr: Why not fill your form with a computer using the latest adobe reader, print, sign forms DSP-122 and DS 230 part I and send via a courier service. It wasn't written anywhere on the forms to send via email. I believe the email address is for inquires.
You can actually send via email. I called them and their response was in the affirmative. Also, I know of people in DV 2013 who sent via email and they got their 2NL even acknowledgment of receipt of the said forms. But if you are in doubt, do as Vikktorr has told u and send via courier which you can track as well.

virginofafrica: yah sire i will advice she just put in some vocational work she's good at. Like tailoring, hair dressing and the others. Then she should try get some proof for that. And then put in her highest level of education, and if they ask give reasons. I mean you must have some proof. Please nairalanders your help is needed here.
How can you advice that when the rule states that:

The principal diversity visa applicant must have a high school education, or its equivalent, or two years of qualifying work experience, under provisions of United States (U.S.) law. This was explained in the DV Instructions for your eDV entry.

High School Education: A high school education means successful completion of a formal course of elementary and secondary education comparable to completion of a 12-year course in the U.S.

Work Experience: If you are qualifying with work experience, you must have two years of experience in the last five years, in an occupation which, by U.S. Department of Labor definitions, requires at least two years of training or experience that is designated as Job Zone 4 or 5, classified in a Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP) rating of 7.0 or higher. The U.S. Department of Labor provides information on job duties, knowledge and skills, education and training, and other occupational characteristics at their website http://online.onetcenter.org/. The O*Net online database groups work experience into five "job zones." While many occupations are listed, only certain specified occupations qualify for the Diversity Visa Program.

So even if she puts hairdresser or whatever, that won't qualify her cos it won't be up to the Job Zone or SVP. So with her O'levels, she's good and eligible.

Like so many Nigerians you want to start off with a lie then continue to make thing worse.

Your Coz has done the correct thing by including wife and kids on first application.
It is common for people to live together without marriage (this is called common law wife)
The thing will be convincing visa official that it is real and not just conveniance.
Any documents that support will help.
What about letter from priest or official that knows you.
But tell honest story and you are closer to visa than lie which may cause ban as well.
well said.

Re-Scheduling Your DV Lottery Interview.
Re scheduling your interview for the DV Lottery may reduce your chance of getting the much awaited U.S Immigrant visa. It is because there are annually 50,000 diversity visas only available from the American Government under this program. As all the people who are selected as DV Lottery winners don't have the required eligibility requirements to show and get the visas at the interview. Approximately 125,000 individuals were registered for further processing for the fiscal year 2014 (October 1, 2013 to September 30, 2014). Each selected person will have a specially allotted case number for them. It will start from number 1 in numerical order along with their geographical region.
From October 1st, those selected people will be called for the DV visa interviews at the U.S Consular offices. Lowest case numbers will be called first and it will follow in numeric order from lower case numbers to higher case numbers till the visas exhaust or till the date of the program close officially on 30th September. Some time case numbers which are higher than 68,000 don't have chances to be called for the Interview as the allotted visas are exhausted, and further interviews will be cancelled.
So now you understand the situation in the USA visa lottery interview. If you reschedule your interview around October November you may have the chance to get the interview in time. But in the later months you will have less chance to attend the interview as this program of visa lottery serves those who comes first get the visa. It is up to you to decide on it.
In some countries you can reschedule only once and if you request for a second time you will never get response from them.
While in many other places after you get the second letter (2NL) you can contact the U.S Embassy through the email or handover them a requesting letter on a working day at your Embassy and can request for a reschedule in a later date. The rescheduled date will be as per their calendar and can't be as per your wish.
After obtaining the new date for the interview you must take your visa fee along with the new interview date announcement mail on the new interview date. If you failed to do this you will not be allowed to enter in to the Embassy.

Pls is it necessary to include primary school leaving cert or primary school testimonial or both? Then is it also necessary to have tertiary school cert or just the statement of result? Does a derivative needs to include academic documents to interview?

Kunlexymoore: Thank you very much my brother and I say amen!!! to your prayers. Yes o, we stuck to the word and we got the testimony. Favour truly was with us from the processing stages to the interview day and like you prayed till we get to America and even whilst there and beyond. A lot of people were happy for us while some were skeptical saying "there's nothing in America...don't leave your job o" but I trust God that His favour and mercy will see me through and stand me out over there in America. The same I pray for ALL Nairalander, especially those of us in this forum. We shall all continue to share testimonies upon testimonies in Jesus name.
Feel free to ask any question my brother and by His grace we shall be able to tackle it. Go and possess yours as well IJN. Regards.
Thanks my brother for really acknowledging me. God that started will surely see to it that all goes well. And for those that say, "there's nothing in America...don't leave your job o" are just saying their opinion which they are entitled to. The decision is yours. If they were in your shoes, they would be the first to grab such opportunity. I will certainly do ask any questions. Pls is it necessary to include primary school leaving cert or primary school testimonial or both? Then is it also necessary to have tertiary school cert or just the statement of result?
TravelRe: DV 2014 Winners Meet Here by kevweflex(m): 10:37pm On May 24, 2013
Why people failed at the DV Lottery interviews?

There are four main things that you have to meet to obtain the American immigrant visa under the Green card lottery program.
1. You must have successfully passed the high school education or must have the work experience with the required years.
2. Perfect Medical report. This means someone who is suffering from a communicable disease can't be issued with the American visa.
3. Security clearance. This is done by the Embassy even if you had provided the police clearance and other necessary things.
4. Provide an Affidavit of Support from an eligible person from the USA.
Further more if you are single play as a single person.
If you are a married person play the DV Lottery with your entire eligible family members.
Failure to include your eligible family members will disqualify you from the DV lottery program.
There is no need for a single person to be married to apply for the DV Lottery.
Also it is against the law for a married person to apply for himself alone.
These things when checked at the Embassy at the time of the interview will lead to the rejection of the visa application and the visa processing fee will not be returned back.
Furthermore arranged marriages by agents for the purpose of giving a visa to another person will result in the visa refusal. All the Embassies are advised by the State Department about this kind of fake marriages which takes place after the DV Lottery application period.
Provide the true original education certificate to proof your education as required by your consular office.
Your medical fitness certificate too can make you visa rejected if you didn't meet the medical requirement.
So these are the important things that can make a DV Lottery winner's visa application to be rejected. It is important for you to read the DV Lottery instructions carefully.

nereiskc: Pls pals I hv some questions to ask (1) in filling DS 122 and DS 230, hope filling them with pen is ok b4 scanning them all or am my to type in or print in on d forms. (2) After scanning all the forms must I convert them to pdf b4 sending them to KCC (3) is mandatory to still send the DS 122 and DS 230 through post or mail after sending d scanned copies thru email to kcc. Thanks
Why not type it on the PDF and print it out (cos it makes it neat and legible), sign page two of DS 230 and page 2 of DSP 122, then send it through courier( I used Fedex which costs N9,580 and takes 3 business days to deliver). I do not know how send through e-mail cos I have not done it before. Persons like pjogutum1 would be in better position to help with that option.

Kunlexymoore: First of all, I want to thank God for His faithfulness towards my family. My wife (Shewen4God)won the visa we both played as singles a week to our wedding. When the result came out, we needed to be sure she could add the rest of the family (we had a one month old baby then) to it, so we sent a mail to KCC which they replied in the affirmative. Then the journey began. We sent the forms to KCC including our marriage certificate, our daughters birth certificate and the likes as requested by them. We then started going through a number of forums online (including Nairaland)to learn especially from people in similar situations as ours (played as singles but later got married). A particular nairalanders testimony (Imcool) is worthy of note and really encouraged us likewise many others.

Now to the testimony. Our interview was yesterday. We had a 10am appointment so we got there at about 8am. We were asked to wait under the tree till about 9:30am for immigrants call-up. We knew we had a challenge of how to feed our 1 year old baby since we were not allowed to go in with liquids. That was later sorted out as we had to drop the baby's bag with someone after the third attempts when we were called to line up by 9:30am. We went through the normal security checks and were given an initial tally number and my wife (the primary applicant was given a form to fill). We were later led through another security checks (airport style) into the main hall after handing another tag to us. We later went to pay at window 22 and then my wife's name was called at Windows 17 where we submitted our documents. My own credentials were not asked for at all (other than my medical report, police report and birth certificate) except my wife's since she was the primary applicant. Close to two hours later, our number beeped on Window 13 (the nicest of them all I believe and a bit elderly). Window 16 was shut "
'permanently'. The interview lasted just a little above 10mins. Though he asked a number of questions, they were straightforward questions. Our interview experience went like this:

CO: (Addressing the two of us) Raise your hands and swear that you are going to say nothing but the truth
Both of us: Yes we will!
Then we did the fingerprint stuff.
CO: (Talking to my wife) You give the baby (who was already sleeping - interceeding for us smiley) to your husband.
I was asked to sit somewhere. The good thing was my wife was audible enough as requested by the CO so I had an idea of the questions asked.
CO: Why do you want to go to America?
Wife (Shewen4God): I like to go to America to learn new things, contribute my quota and also help people; which I love doing.
CO: What are you doing presently?
Wife: Since I stopped work due to the marriage policy of our company, I focused on and concluded my MBA programme last year and since then I've been looking for job while learning some new trades like hairmaking and beads making
CO: What's your highest qualification?
Wife: I wrote PGD on the form sent to KCC but I now have my MBA
CO: Where did you meet your husband?
Wife: We met in my former office in 2009. We were colleagues.
CO: Did you play the lottery together?
Wife: No, we played separately as singles since we were not married then
CO: Where did you spend your honeymoon?
Wife: Ghana
Co: Oh I've not been to Ghana before
Wife: It's a nice place
CO: How long did you spend there?
Wife: 4days
CO: What other places has your husband been to?
Wife: Dubai
CO: For official purpose?
Wife: No, for vacation
CO: Has your husband married before and does he have other children other than your daughter?
Wife: No
Co: What about you?
Wife: No
CO: Please call your husband and have a seat

I took my turn and he confirmed the questions he asked my wife and few other ones from me
CO: How did you meet your wife?
Me: Met her through another colleague in her office and chatted her up
Co: Did you play the lottery as well?
Me: Yes I did. I did not win but my wife won
CO: Did you play it together?
Me: No we played separately
CO: Do you have some pictures of your wedding?
Me: Yes I do and brought out our wedding album and started opening the album
CO: Who is this? Where was it conducted? Is it a church? Where are your parents and hers?
Me: I answered him (Methodist Church) and showed him our parents picture
CO: Who made this album (Photobook)?
Me: My friend, he's a photographer
CO: Its nice
Me: Thank you sir
CO: What do you do where you work (bank)?
Me: Public Sector Department and described what we do

The CO then brought out two white sheet of paper and asked that I call my wife, which I did. He circled an address and asked that we pick up our visas next friday. We were so happy and my wife even shouted "God bless America" out of excitement and people sitting down had a good laugh. We bless God for His faithfulness from the beginning of this journey till now. Truly, like we say here....God is involved! We also like to thank good people in this forum who shared their testimonies, gave us wonderful advices and insights as regarding the various stages of processing. It made our job easy. Gentiger, Imcool, Demolang, Temmytanny, Godhelpmeoo, Neroxp (used your testimony as a prayer point), Spoonder, Jamaicanlady, Odunmanuel, Mercy 2013, Chuk 87, Kevwe_flex, Roodboy, Junkerhill and many of you guys too numerous to mention. Welldone and I say God bless you. See you @ the top!
If you stick to the "WORD" you will come back with a testimony. Yes that's it. Testimonies. Thank God for his mercies and favour. May that favour continue to go with you until you step into Yankee. And to your baby that brought joy to your home. Please do not forget to pray for us, cos my wife also is the principal applicant. Also never forget us, give us tips so we all come and testify.

nereiskc: Good day my good people, pls I need clarity of Nos 39 of DS 230 form II, I don't understand what they mean by Name and address of petitioner.
The petitioner is the principal applicant. The one that won the lottery. So put his/her name, address and telephone no there. I hope this helps?
