You can do a change of name. I mean on the E-passport, i.e. going to the immigration. It may cost you about 60k. A friend did his. If you ask me, it's worth it.

virginofafrica: Please kween flix if you want to make a correction to my post. Please do it with respect! And don't insult me please. I said that because a friend of mine that won last year. Used just his computer training (basic) to fill the form. And now he is in new york ! Please i dont just post. Try to correct with caution. And you said am misleading people. Nairalander. What false infor have i given. And i will tell you my source. So please dont get this wrong.
Your responses are not founded. They are based on just intuitions and what you think. You don't just give outright answers to things you know nothing about just because your "uncle" did it before. Does he works at the embassy? Thank God I am not the only one that has observed it. If you read the DV 2013 thread, you will understand what I am talking about. There are ways you answer some questions you r not too sure about, you give open-end answers not saying things you think. Like getting a freedom certificate. Have you verified from O net website. That it is listed in the site, does not make it eligible, you should note that. And please like you said, quote your sources of information. I don't claim to know it all, the one I don't have clear answers to, I leave it. What are you trying to achieve here? Are u Don Jazzy? pjogutum1: Hellohouse: I and my family did our medical and police report over the weekend at Ikoyi. If not that I had extra money on me the whole show would have ended just like that without any achievement. We arrived Lagos on Thursday 6th as at 7pm and lodged in Vintage suits Adehanmi Street in Surulere and on Friday by 5:30am we left for the clinics and where the first to reach there, it rained seriously. But, for the little umbrella we took from Port Harcourt my little daughter of less than three months would have been soaked. My people, all protocol observed we started and finished the medical the same day and we paid the total sum of #124,400 (One hundred and twenty four thousand four hundred naira only)

Me: 12k +12k = 24,000 Madam: 12k +12k =24,000 My son: 12k + 22k =34,000 (the boy is 17yrs) My daughter: 7k + 35,400 = 42,400 (the girl is less than 3months old)

Imagine I went with my daughter’s immunization card oh! I don’t know what would have happened if I didn’t go with her card. We left the clinics’ about 2pm and straight to Alagbon and by 4:30 the police report was ready we paid #15k and left Alagbon at 4:45pm back to our hotel room and Saturday morning we departed to Port Harcourt. I thank God for journey mercies waiting for the medical result and the real interview now.
Congratulation to all those who got current recently we are moving gradually and I know God has perfected everything to his glory IJN.

Note: if you are a family man, please go with enough money for medical so you would not be disappointed when you are given the bill. The doctor in room 2 upstairs that handled our physical examination was rude to us; my wife had serious fallout with him. He doesn’t understand what customers focus is at all, the medical director was not around I would have reported him.
Wow. Thank God. You really spent. Wishing you success during your interview.

@ virginofafrica, stop misleading people. What you don't know, just silent so those who knows it can comment. Stop commenting based on your intuitions. There are rules and regulations and eligibility for a DV visa issuance. And there are the right sources for those info. You can better tell them to call KCC or mail them should they need clarifications.

pator: We got to the embassy around 6.20 a.m. We parked at the car park for #1,000 and then move to the U.S embassy to join the line around 6.30 a.m. I will say we were already late by then because the line was already long. Just about 4 people came after us (jaspa 400 was one of those who came after us). We went through all the protocols and in the hall we paid $990 (for my son, my wife and me). We submitted our documents and waiting for the COs to arrive. They finally started the interview around 8.30 a.m. First at 2 cubicles, (14 and 15) later another CO joined at 16. They were all male. The first 3 people that were called were all couples, 2 with children the other without children. All of them were granted visa. My family was number 4 to be called at window 14. The guy in window 14 was the youngest and seems to be tough on the first couple he interviewed. He spent almost 30 minutes with them before he granted them visa. The interview proper went this way:

CO: Good morning
Me, Wife and Son: Good morning sir
CO: Can you sign this form on the yellow line?
Me: Sure (I signed and he gave my wife her own to sign and then asked me to sign for my son)
CO: Do you swear to say the truth
Me: Yes we do
Co: Who is the principal applicant?
Me: Me
CO: What is your highest qualification?
ME: Bachelor Degree
CO: Which school
Me: O.A.U
CO: Did you serve
Me: Yes
CO: Where
ME: Benin
CO: Ok
She then turned to my wife
CO: Madam, you are expecting a baby?
Wife: Yes
CO: When are you due
Wife:XYZ
Co:O.k you will process her visa separately after delivery OR I will return your passport to you, when you have your baby you can come back and I will issue for all of you
ME:No, cant you issue for the 3 of us first and when the baby comes we will process her own separately
CO: of course I can if you want.
ME: Yes I want
Co:ok
He then brought out the white paper, circle the address and told us to go there on tuesday next week to collect the visa. He also gave us the sheet for payment of GC processing and told us to get passport and medical report for the baby and bring her after delivery. That was the whole story people. In less than 5 minutes we were done. I went with heavy albums with a lot of supporting documents, non of them were asked for.

POINT TO NOTE
1. It seems they have surplus visa left as they were not really thorough in the interview again as much as they did in the earlier stage.(My thought though). So, it is an encouragement for those with high case number it might after all be a blessing in disguise for you.
2. I went with 2 O Level results, one SSCE and one GCE same year in 1995. The SSCE has P7 in English while all other results were very good, while GCE has Credit in English with all other results also good. The guy told me both of them were fine and he advise I use the WAEC with P7 in English it doesnt matter. So, 5 credit is 5 credit not necessarily in any subject.

I thank God for everything and very grateful to this forum too. I met jaspa 400 over there I'm sure he will share his testimony soon.
2.
Congrats. This is what we want to be hearing. Good news, and great testimonies that are inspiring.

Well then, package your job role and functions properly in your DSP 122 form and send it to them. If they check and it meets, they will send you your notification for interview. Remember again, the O*Net online database groups work experience into five "job zones." While many occupations are listed, only certain specified occupations qualify for the Diversity Visa Program., which must have two years of experience in the last five years, in an occupation which, by U.S. Department of Labor definitions, requires at least two years of training or experience that is designated as Job Zone 4 or 5, classified in a Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP) rating of 7.0 or higher.

Kunlexymoore: Guys, I need your inputs on this: My Visa was issued on the 23rd of May which means I have till November 22 this year to travel (going by the six months validity of dv visa) also corroborated (said to me) by the lady @ the collection centre. To me, that's a good one since I planned going around October after my final masters exam which holds in August and ends around middle September. It also allows me more time to prepare and flight tickets are cheaper then than summer (June-August).

However, the second paragraph on my 2NL (which I believe is same for everybody) reads: Applicant and family members cannot be issued a diversity visa or accompany you or join you in the United States under DV-2013 program after September 30, 2013. So what does this mean? Does it mean this supersede what I have on my visa or vice versa? Does it mean those of us getting our visas now no longer have six months to prepare? I need to clarify this so as to know the options open to me and not risk leaving after Sept 30.
Ah baba Kunlexymoore na you dey ask this kind question? Please relax, your visa which is the your gateway to yankee is already in ur hands. Before I proceed in answering ur second paragraph, I'd like to ask u this question; what is the fiscal year or duration for DV2013 lottery?
Is it not from Oct 1 2012- Sept 30 2013? So the paragraph is just saying those who haven't got their visa on or before these dates would not get it for DV 2013 after Sept 30 2013. It ends for them and begins for us (Oct 1 2013) who are DV 2014 waiting to come and join you guys. Guy your faith don dey fail o. this one is not the evidence of things not seen again o. Ur visa is in your hands and that paragraph does not affects you bro. Go and prepare for your exams and a beautiful flight. Hey make sure that flight is worth the while for your family o. Make hotel reservations and stop overs at some point before getting to your destination as you have ample time to prepare financially.

What means did you send the forms and since when have you sent it? If you used a courier, you should have a tracking number with which you can track it, and it takes 3 business days to get delivered. You can also verify from them by calling them. They will ask you for your Date of birth, full name and CN. So get it readily available when calling them.

arun12: I have selected 2014 DV.but my problem is without married i have one kid, still i'm not married , when i'm apply for Dv Lottery i mark single ,now we are going to take wedding , but how can i change my status .they will accept or not. Please advice me.
Of course they will accept your change in status if it is genuine that you got married after playing the lottery and that you did not stage-managed it to accommodate for your derivative to follow to USA if eventually u r successful in your visa. Please do not forge anything, just be honest. If you are planning to get married now, ensure you take pictures, have a valid marriage certificate and other necessary documents to back it up. And there's provision for children born out of wedlock, they know these things (whether it's called common-law or there about, I have forgotten). But note, cos people are really desperate about these whole thing and could go any length to get anything, the CO would be really meticulous about your case to ensure there's no scam in it. Have you submitted your forms yet?

thuyahky: please what such a question the co may ask from people who applied for single @ the interview, also can someone change the address and email when filling the dsp form cos am not living in the former address which i put when i apply...
Note: Questions are gonna be based on the information you ve given them so far, like highest qualification, best subject from school, what you do currently, ever been denied a visa, bla bla. But once your information and documents are true and genuine, of course you would be able to defend yourself boldly. But if u lie, it means you would need a thousand lies to back up your single lie, which would not definitely set you free.
Also you can change your address as it is possible for one to relocate since after playing the lottery. You can inform notify them of this that your address changed and would like to put the current one which is valid. You can reach them on this line as from 12:30pm Nigerian time during business days: +16065267500

How To Find the Qualifying Occupations on the Department of Labor Website: Qualifying DV Occupations are shown on the Department of Labor O*Net Online Database. Follow these steps, when you are in O*Net Online to find out if your occupation qualifies:

Under "Find Occupations" select "Job Family" from the pull down;
Then Browse by “Job Family”. (For example, select Architecture and Engineering) and click "GO";
Then click on the link for your specific occupation. (As an example, select Aerospace Engineers. At the bottom of this Summary Report for Aerospace Engineers, under the Job Zone section, you will find the designated Job Zone 4, SVP Range, 7.0 to < 8.0. This means using this example, Aerospace Engineering is a qualifying occupation.)

If you do not have either the required education or qualifying work experience, you are not eligible to be issued a diversity visa. Only you, as the principal applicant, must meet this requirement. Your spouse and children do not have to meet this requirement. Do not continue with this application if you do not meet the qualifying education or work experience requirements explained above.
