what is the point of discussing through 7 pages when no one is thinking about how to effect change? things do not have to remain the way they are but they will do so unless YOU stand up. if we cannot rise together then we will perish together. let us demand better governance from our governments, we the people have a say in our government. no human being deserves to be held under such conditions.

what can we do to raise awareness and force the government to do something about improving the state of our prisons?

TravelRe: Nigerians And Fake Accent by Kgdavid(m): 4:23pm On Jun 30, 2013
Originalsly: Instead of faking an accent it is better you practice speaking correct English and speak clearly.Fake American accent was one of the main reasons that turned people away from Nollywood movies in the US.Fake accents should be kept within Nigeria...it can work here...not abroad. In one sentence you can hear these idiots change from a New York to a Southern to some version of a UK accent....and they think they are doing great! What would you think of a person who begins speaking to you in Igbo accent that changes to Yoruba accent and ends up the sentence with thick Hausa accent?
depends on what the objective was. in some western made african movies i have heard a lot of what i know to be a fake african accent...dint put me off the movie cuz i got the point. blood diamond is one that springs to mind. the sierra leonian accent used was not accurate at all but no one is screaming "fake accent!".

like the op said living with these people forces you to change your accent. its particularly irritating having to repeat simple words over and over again or having to say "sorry?" over and over again. it makes even the simplest conversations most cumbersome and awkward.

i find that i have different accents based on my mood. when i am extremely serious i naturally have a british tinged accent but even in the states when im relaxed with my white friends i use a yoruba tinged accent...i cant speak yoruba though so would i be accused of faking it? i picked it up from my best friend. its only natural to adapt
SportsRe: Keshi Should Be Celebrated Not Condemned - Amaju Pinnick by Kgdavid(m): 3:45pm On Jun 30, 2013
thegoodjoehunt: You are saying wrong analysis and start talking of wingers. Tucute was talking of us playing Oduamadi, Emenike, Osaze and Moses. 3 there are strikers. Mikel said in training before the confeds that Keshi is training them to be a morepossessive side. Fielding in 3 strikers will take the objective away.

By the way wingers are midfielders not strikers. You can have wing attackers but playing 3 men whose natural role is striking defeats the possessive side Keshi is trying to build.
i'm not saying we dont play possession, im saying that we will play possession with the same 4,3,3 formation as opposed to increasing the number of midfielders. for all intents and purposes wingers are classfied as attackers everywhere in the world. for nigeria Moses and Emenike dont play as strikers, they play as wingers and Odemwingie often does the same. technically wingers are only classed as midfielders in a 442 or 451 formation but in a 433 your wingers are definitely forwards. this is the formation we have played under Keshi and he has shown that this is a formation he does not want to change regardless of whether his best attackers are available. the point i was making is while the team is about possession football, this type of game also needs pacy wingers. its the same principle with other possession based sides like spain and germany to some extent. 433 formation with good passers in midfield and quick skilful attackers on the flanks with a good finisher as the central striker.

The above is a complete rubbish

with the way eagle play now i think they are the most dangerous team in the world

U could ve been left with no option if the chances were converted ! wouldnt u

never mind how many u missed; the question should be

How many clean chances half chances were created

mind u the BBC commentators keep referring to Nigeria eagles each time Spain or Uruguay were playing; in their words the 3 nil doesnt tell the story; Nigeria squandered lots of chances

i guess they were marveled by our style

If there should be any grievances at all NFF should explain to Nigerians the reason they bought return ticket after Ivory coast match i think

but then wat a country! if Nigeria need to survive then some people need to get lost in one way or the other lipsrsealed
i dont know what ur talking about but whatever it is you are trying to say certainly has nothing to do with the point i was making. what i was talking about is whether or not Keshi is trying to change our formation according to what one poster said. simple. we did create chances bt mostly from midfield play. apart from one ahmed musa move how many chances were created by our wingers? as opposed to the number of chances created by our wingers during the nations cup? apart form Gambo's chance how many proper chances did we even have? this was not even my point earlier but just had to point it out
SportsRe: Keshi Should Be Celebrated Not Condemned - Amaju Pinnick by Kgdavid(m): 6:00am On Jun 30, 2013
thegoodjoehunt: @tucute. Coach Keshi is moving the team towards possessive style of play which will mean more midfielders and less attackers. So your strike force won't suit the coach's style. He needs a very prolific good finisher and a reserve to complement it. He is notgoing to continue the way he played at the afcon. It is a progressive growth.

Also the coach can't battle taming egos (even though I feel Osaze is misunderstood and not a problem). His focus should be on boys ready to listen obey him and adopt his kind of play. Remembrr Boas at Chelsea or Joe Hart and Richards at Man City.
wrong analysis. the reason why this team looks to dwell on possession so much is because of the absence of creative skillful wingers. Keshi's formation has remained 4,3,3 throughout so i dunno wat change of style ur talking about. if anything, the absence of his favorite attackers could have prompted him to actually do wat yu suggest by playing 4,5,1 but instead he stuck with the formation and used inferior players instead. the style aint gonna change
SportsRe: Keshi Should Be Celebrated Not Condemned - Amaju Pinnick by Kgdavid(m): 5:38am On Jun 30, 2013
Akiika: Condemn Keshi ke? We dare not! afterall we won Tahiti, what an achievement. Stop making comments with stupid emotions, that team that played CONFED is not of international standard. World Cup qualification is a mirage for us, if the attackers he fielded are his best in Nigeria, then we should just quit international soccer.
basically you have not said anything meaningful at all. world cup qualification is a mirage when we are on top of our group? who is the one making irrational comments here? where did Keshi ever say the attackers he used are his best? please think deeply before commenting. what is there to condemn Keshi for? this confed cup is a useless trophy so he had every justification in trying out his local boys and in giving some untested players the chance to prove their quality against top opposition. now that some have messed up he himself has opened the door to those of quality. what is your problem? is winning the nations cup not achievement enough given the period of time Keshi has had so far? are you forgetting that everyone in the confed cup is a champion in their own right? guy pls go and sit down and refrain from assaulting my eyes
SportsRe: Keshi Should Be Celebrated Not Condemned - Amaju Pinnick by Kgdavid(m): 2:05am On Jun 30, 2013
all this noise is simply because Gambo missed a sitter. if all man utd fans were nigerians by now Fergusons head would have gone for keeping welbeck. just because he missed one chance does not mean Gambo should be shunned. for crying out loud this is a man who went from playing local league to facing the worlds best overnight. has Gambo even been capped prior to this confed cup? give the guy a chance!! look at Ahmed Musa, has he not improved?? there is no instant success in football or in life for that matter

SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Spain - Player Rating by Kgdavid(m): 1:31am On Jun 25, 2013
enyeama: very average performance, made some routine saves but was too easily rounded for the third goal.5
ambrose: solid, confident on the ball which was key to our retention of possession. great dribbling and excellent pass to release musa for Gambo's miss. 6.5
Omeruo: messed up for the first goal, last ditch tackle led to him getting injured. great talent but needs a lot of work.
Ogboagbona: talented defender who needs to be reprogrammed from a local player to an international one.at fault for second goal. (one basic tenet of defending is that you go for the ball at the earliest possible opportunity. he waited for the ball to come to him for him to clear comfortably thus give torres time and space to sneak in)5
Echiejile; vastly improved, good work down the left but failed to cover centre backs on certain through balls. 6.5
Ogude: hard working and definitely played ahuge part in keeping spain at bay. do yall think it was mmikel pressing so hard, tackling and intercepting like that? 6.5
Mba; some good attacking moves. 6.5
Mikel: man of the match, near perferc performance.9
Musa: vastly improved and our brightest attacker. 7
ideye: doenst play well without creative players around him. 5
akpala; intelligent runs but pointless otherwise. 5

subs

Ezewhatever his name was: impressed greatly. should be partnered with Omeruo
Ogu: some good movement. a player to monitor
Gambo: the transition from local champion to facing the worlds best proved too much for him. he should be given another chance.

SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Spain - Confederations Cup: (0 - 3) On 23rd June 2013 by Kgdavid(m): 10:20pm On Jun 23, 2013
going throught the commetns it is clear that Nigerians are completely clueless about football. at least most of you on this site. completely uteerly clueless bunch. that team out there went out and played great football despite being without several of its best payers. this is spain we are talking about not england or sweden...spain, the best eam in the world by a country mile. our boys have proven themselves in this game as beign extremely capable even if they are not yet completely ready. have you all forgotten so soon just hjow far this team has come? from the shcking boring dull displays under amodu and his successors to this kind of football were for a large period we matched spain at possession 51:49? imagine wat would have happened if all our injured players were available in this game? Moses, Emenike, Onazi,? what if Odemwingie was recalled? we would have created more and certainly made better use of the ones we had today. i said it way back at the nations cup that our defence was not yet good but they have improved vastly and will continue to improve. Ahmed Musa has always been my least favorite player but he is improving. Echiejile is improving, Mikel is regaining his old imperious unstoppable world class quality. Keshi has shown what he can do with a bunch of lower quality players, now imagine what he would do with all the big guns around? the football this team has played has been far better than anything i have seen Nigeria play for the past ten years!!! let anyone give me a match within that period where the boys have played better. prior to this tournament or even during the nations cup? we were on an 18 game winning streak. that is amazing especially in international football. Keshi has got the boys playing the right football and i for one i'm happy with this team. bunch of ingrates dont you know it takes take to mold a good team into a great one? talkless of the sack of rubbish that Nigeria was when keshi took over. we are making fantastic progress!
CelebritiesRe: Tade Ogidan Didnt Beat His Wife? by Kgdavid(m): 2:40pm On Jun 18, 2013
two conflicting accounts indeed raises the questions about what could be going on here but then again i ask, how did the public get to know that the woman was beaten if she never came out and said so herself? if a woman has a cut on her face does it automatically mean her husband beat her? if the cut on her face is isolated without other bruies on the face then its not likely to have been the result of a beating. i also ask thoug, who was that rival thats sent the story around, does she have a name? at this stage with three conflicting and unverifiable stories floating around it is simply best to leave the couple to their business.

dolphinife: I still trying to wrap my head around this. My girl came
to me one night while we were together she got
moody. I asked her what was up and she told me this; Said she was @ a party with friends and she felt like her
period was about to start so she went out to get "TISSUE
PAPER" just in case. Then while she was going she met
her friend
(a guy) who was also @ the party and
wanted to get to a friends place to drop off something.
So they went together. Eventually, she got to the guys friends place and went
into his room
. Where he locked the door and told her
that she should have sex with him or he'd call other
guys in the house to rape her
. Now on hearing this, I was shocked, disappointed and
angry. But I was concerned about her health so I told
her that we should go to the hospital so that a doc could
check her up, since it was sex without consent and she
might have been hurt. Now this is what baffles me. She
asked me if I was scared that she'd be pregnant and I said "that too". She looked me in the eyes and said he used a "condom" What do u guys think
DONT WANT TO WASTE MY TIM COMMENTING ON RUBBISH. EITHER THE STORY IS FALSE OR YOUR GIRL IS BLATANTLY TAKING YOU FOR A RIDE. CHOOOSE THE MOST APPLICABLE ONE.I HAVE BOLDED THE MOST GLARING INCONSISTENCIES IN THE STORY SO YOU CAN TAKE IT FROM THERE

1. THE GUY WAS HER FRIEND? IS A FRIEND LIKELY TO CALL OTHER GUYS TO RAPE HER? THEY MUST BE A CREW OF ARMED ROBBERS THEN! ITS NOT LIKE EVERY GUY AROUND THE CORNER IS JUST LOOKIN FOR THE NEXT GIRL TO RAPE.

2. THOUGHT HER PERIOD WAS ABOUT TO START? SHE MAGICALLY FORGOT ABOUT THAT ONE WHEN SHE WENT AIMLESSLY RIDING AROUND TOWN?

3. STORY SAYS THEY WENT TO THE HOME OF HER FRIENDS FRIEND. WHAT WAS SHE LOOKING FOR IN THE BEDROOM OF A MAN SHE DOESNT KNOW? AT THAT TIME OF THE NIGHT?

4. IF SHE REALLY HAD BEEN RAPED I IMAGINE SHE WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT HAPPENED.

IN MY OPINION YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS THE BIGGEST LIAR ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH.

IF I PLANT THE SAME APPLE SEED IN NIGERIA WHAT WILL COME OUT ? AN APPLE. YOU ARE NOT WHERE YOU ARE BORN. THATS A PREPOSTEROUS CARNAL AND SHALLOW ASSERTION. WE ALL HAVE LINEAGES. JUST CUZ A CHINESE MAN IS BORN IN NIGERIA DOES NOT MEAN HE IS NIGERIAN
SUCH ODD LOGIC. AN APPLE PLANTED IN NIGERIA IS NO LESS AN APPLE THAN AN APPLE PLANTED IN IN CHINA TRUE OF COURSE. HOWEVER AN APPLE PLANTED IN CHINA IS A CHINESE APPLE WHEREAS THE ONE PLANTED IN NIGERIA IS A NIGERIAN APPLE. A NIGERIAN APPLE SEED PLANTED IN CHINA WOULD PRODUCE WHAT KIND OF APPLES? CHINESE APPLES.

RIDICULOUS ANALOGIES ASIDE, AS FAR BACK AS PRIMARY SCHOOL WE WERE TAUGHT THAT CITIZENSHIP CAN BE ACQUIRED THROUGH ANCESTRY, BIRTH OR NATURALIZATION. MY DEAR FELLOW, CITIZENSHIP IS CITIZENSHIP WHETHER IT CAME IN ANY OF THE ABOVE THREE WAYS AND AS A MATTER OF FACT IN MOST COUNTRIES BIRTH CARRIES MORE WEIGHT THAN ANCESTRY. THERE IS ALSO A LITTLE THING WE CALL A PASSPORT. IF THAT YOUNG MADMAN HA A LITTLE BROWN BOOK CALLED A BRITISH PASSPORT THEN HE IS A BRITISH MAN. PERIOD.
