The situation is so pathetic. But I tell you APC will win not because the people want them but because they have more party loyalist. This is what determines the outcome of this election cause the common man in the street don't like the candidates from both parties. To me I don't think PDP is ready to win this election. I'm even still contemplating voting.

If the govt wants to tow the path of legalizing guns for citizens, it is very possible to keep the database but that's another topic. Moreover the database of every driver license holder is intact the last time I checked.

Are you kidding me? Did you understand what I wrote before you quoted me? In Nigeria citizens are not allowed to own guns. I'm talking about what the constitution allows here. The pump action you mentioned there, as far as govt is concerned, they are issued to hunters. I'm talking about the constitution recognizing the security threat and allowing citizens to own guns for protection not those hunter stuff.

In my opinion, Fayose was wrong to enact such laws in the first place. The fulanis have the right to live and work in ekiti just like every other Nigerian. Why ban their business of cattle rearing when they have no other means? Why criminalize the fulanis as if all fulanis are killers? There are bad eggs amongst every tribe, why do we make it look like violence is exclusive to northerners only. The people we should frown at are cattle rustlers who steals cattle from fulanis and use them as disguise for their evil deeds. I'm sorry to say this but you sound like a primary one pupil still learning reading and comprehension. Did you even see the law in the first place? Is Fayose a law maker? The herdsmen were simply banned from moving around with cattle or guns. They were never banned from entering the state. No governor have such power. More so the governor only assented a law made by the state assembly.

That's the painful part. Nigeria law does not recognize gun for protection of property. So you are not allowed to move with it. You have to be a hunter to own one or you can lie you are one just to get a license. Plus. those nonsense guns are what is permitted. What I see is that this is just a way of keeping the masses in check. Our elites are always afraid and they have guns regardless of what the law says.

To be frank there is no way the nigeria of today can equip the police to be effective. What we need is a policy that can stabilize the security in the land. We need the gun law amended in this country. A situation where someone purchase a weapon from our neighboring country and crosses the border (we have no border), and use it in holding people hostage simply because our govt does not permit gun for its citizens.

Now if citizens were allowed to own guns I can tell you boko haram wouldn't have been able to seize that large area of land and the amount of IDP would have been less. Even in Libya before the death of Gadaffi, allowed it citizens to own guns.

State Laws versus federal laws, this bill ain't going nowhere. A Nigerian has a constitutional right to move around in to any part of the country lawfully.

There is nothing like state vs federal here. You are still allowed to move around except that you cannot move around with cows and guns. If you are caught, you face the music squarely.

The simple fact is, we are an oil dependent nation. So long as the oil prices were high, we could afford not to tax everyone extra. We wasted the money we could have saved on corruption, and on deceiving Nigerians that we were prosperous. In reality, the basis of our wealth was false.

And has corruption been eliminated. Do you think money is not been siphoned as we speak.

We are going to have to walk a hard and arduous path to self reliance. I hope APC is interested in that path, beyond raising taxes...they have to fix the lights and end corruption.

I am yet to know what criteria were used for Imo State to be on that list. Even Yobe, Bornu and Adamawa States were exempted.

The Biafra issue is not even visible in Imo State and presently the State is just a construction site to private developers.

Yobe and Bornu are on the list. Read the original news. And moreover they listed it for their citizens planning to visit these places. It doesn't mean its not safe for us Nigerians

And I can tell you that its a lie. I'm talking from first hand experience. Anybody can be shot at. It all depends on who you are, the kind of temper you have, and the kind of cultist and temper the cultist possess, the situation (the main issue), etc.

What I deduce from your story is that your husband is a sincere man. To be sincere, it takes a fraudulent individual to practice Christianity in nigeria for straight 20yrs with a strong zeal. Why your hubby has become outspoken is because he has seen that a lot of people who claim to be christians are atheist like himself. The number of atheist have risen in recent years due to the numbers of fake preachers everywhere who ventured into christianity because of unemployment. Even many pastors these days don't believe what they preach. Atheist are everywhere just that majority are just pretending to be christians. Some are even pastors. I would have explained my reason for these conclusions but typing with the phone is hard work.

What will kill the APC faster at the federal level is that they don't respect public opinion at all. They just dish out lies as if everyone is stupid.
