Politics / Re: APC's Muslim-muslim Ticket: What Are The Far Reaching Implications? by khadaffi(m): 4:11am On Jul 11, 2022
ElSudani:
If the ticket is rejected a bad precedent would be set, a new gulf of division and schism would be established between Christians and Muslims for a very long time.
It will trickle down to the state and local government levels. Your faith rather than your competence will be given undue importance in seeking office.

Let it be like that. Do you think religion is not already given undue importance. Otherwise ask yourself if you sincerely think a northern Christian politician does not exist. Why present a Muslim? Do you guys think we are foolish in this country. Already we are seeing the state giving undue advantage to one religion over another. The recent supreme court ruling of wearing of hijab is a pointer. Any Christian that vote for a Muslim Muslim ticket is a bastard. No northern Muslim would do that if the reverse was the case

All southeast states, 5 out of 6 southsouth states, 3 of southwest 6(ekiti and ondo), two of NE, 3 of northcentral(benue, kogi, kwara) and NW indeterminate for now.

Can you mention the south south state that you think he would loose? Your analysis is skewed.
Obi is winning the entire South East and South south states. Most of the south west will also move to his favour same with some of the north central. The problem now is that the opposition are not sleeping. They are currently devising a rigging strategy that we might have not seen or heard of.

Why is it that almost every politicians has something not too clear about his educational background or something relating to it. What is there to say I didn't attend high institutions and the rest. Toor na dem Sabi. There's no election whatsoever in Nigeria whether local, state or federal that somebody somewhere won't accuse someone of not attending a school as claimed or forging of certificate.

The thing many of you don't know is that most of these politicians are illiterates and this is the reason we want the younger generation to take over. Tinubu is my father's age mate. During their days it was difficult to find an educated person. By educated, I mean someone with a primary six (FSLC) certificate. But you would agree this is not the case with the younger generation. It doesn't mean they're not intelligent. Even my dad did not attend any primary or secondary school. He only read at home and wrote exams to get his certificate and he rose to a reasonable rank in the military.

Education / Re: Nigerian Woman Who Returned To Secondary School After Child Bearing Graduates by khadaffi(m): 6:48am On Jun 25, 2022
Reference:

Education is the panacea to almost all the social ills we see today, stop personalising everything and thinking only in terms of individual gain. Proper goverments ensure the education of vast numbers of citizens because this is the bedrock of development, the kind of social stability that creates the many doors you want opened, because right now there are few doors and everyone struggles to get through.

An educated man is less susceptible to crime, manipulation of every kind and the inducements that denigrate his personality.
In this season of elections and the empowerment of leadership that determines the quality of our lives going forward, an educated man is less likely to be swayed by ethno-religious politics or vote selling because he realises the consequences.

Have enough educated people and the value of the average PVC rises making your well structured and well intended vote of more positive impact.
For no matter how well your intentions are at the polls Nigeria's destiny will unfortunately and ultimately be determined by the vast hordes of illiterate citizens who will vote with their hearts and not their minds because their minds are uncultured.

You might have to go back and read my post you quoted. Now let me rephrase what I wrote there. Tertiary education is useless and not important. I quoted you because you were encouraging her to continue. Everything you are writing here can be achieved by the basic education she has received. If she does not achieve it then there is basically no need to further. Tertiary education was actually meant to develop ones career. But in Nigeria it has become what you get before you begin your career pursuit. This is an anomaly. It is not obtainable in any serious country. That is why in Nigeria basic education is free in most states but tertiary education fee continue to rise. This is how it's going to be if we want a head way.

So in summary what you wrote here is not debatable but it can be achieved by the basic education she already has.

Stop discouraging people from furthering their education
Education is a legacy and is the key

Key to what? Please stop giving people false hope. In other developed climes people will achieve a lot with just a high school certificate which is what she just achieved but here you're encouraging her to continue education. If the education she just attained has not opened any door for her then no need to expect that further education will open any door

This could serve as motivation for many people

What motivation? This is nonsense. The purpose of education is not to humiliate anyone. There is an age range required for each classes and if you've exceeded it you are supposed to start considering adult education. That is the purpose of Adult education. It does not exist for fancy. GCE is also not for secondary school students, it is the exam written for adult education. An equivalent of SSCE.

Oga don't listen to that rubbish that dude is saying there. I have a Koran here with me the English version. The book is really violent. I've had the book since 2004 and I've never been able to bring myself to finish it. It is really a violent book especially against christians. I can't count how many times it kept instructing them to kill christians or not to trust christians or one negative thing against christians. It was almost in every page I read. My mother was born a Muslim but has since converted to christian. She has confirmed it severally that the religion is violent. There is also a popular man I know personally, I don't want to mention his name here. The Man told me categorically that it is a sin if for example he is with those guys stoning Deborah and he refused to join. All Northerners are tacitly in support of this violence. That right there is inaccurate, Southerners were killed but why was it tagged Igbo coup and not Midwest coup, that's the concern, not Benin coup, Ademolega was there so if it was on the basis that MI Okpara was not killed what about the Midwest, so the appropriate name ought to be Midwest coup and not Igbo coup however be that as it may it all been a great lesson from the past

It was tagged igbo coup because of politics. Most politicians then were very intelligent. I've spoken about this issue to some of them before they passed on. The reason they called it Igbo coup is because the northerners were the one in power and there was no way constitutionally that the NCNC could grab power. The only way was to kill other party element and grab power. This might not be correct but that was how the northern element saw it. Now the Midwest was just formed so there was no way they could pull such stunt. So everyone suspected the igbos were the one behind the activities. This might not be correct but that was how they saw it. That is why it's called Igbo coup.

That was not what lead to the civil war, what led to the civil war was Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu and his groups trying to wade in similar situation, just because he had Chukwuma in his name and becuase Zik and maybe MI Okpara was not killed however the whole country was able to forget that Midwest was also part of Nigeria and Nzeogwu was even from Midwest,

Whoever they burn in the West or North shouldn't be an Igbo man's business so far the person is not Igbo, once we get involved they settle their scores, remember the wild wild west chaos between Awolowo and Akintola also contributed to the coup and much later civil war, we should mind our business, Christian or Muslim isn't the problem

You see that bolded part. That is a lie. Infact what you said there is true according to the version of the Igbos. I have listened to many of these Igbos misinformed youth when they speak about what led to the civil war and they never for once mentioned that Midwest was actually the region that caused the war. They kept mentioning Igbos, Igbos,igbos.... The Midwest led the coup and did not kill their premier. They also did not kill the igbos premier, another coincidence is that both premiers were from the same political party. so when there was retaliation in the whole country, even the Midwest were killed and assumed to be igbo. Anyone who tells you anything else is saying bullshit. I can't count the number of times I've said this on NL.
