See ehn, almost every guy pass through this phase at a point in life including myself. I remember how i used to cram lines too those days chai!
See ehn, you don't just stop a lady and ask "Can we be friends?". It's totally wrong. I can swear the lady was expecting you to say something reasonable the moment she stopped for you. Next time, try and be more creative. You can stop a lady by simply saying "Hi", "Hello" etc. And next thing to come outta ya mouth should be, things like, "How you doing today" then go further and tell her ya name i.e "I'm xoxoxo how about you please?". Then ask her if she lives in that neighborhood cos yoi haven't really been seeing her around. Then you go further and tell her you'll like to be friends if she wouldn't mind then ask for her digits. Bid her farewell and go ya separate ways. Remember to wear a soft smile while doing all of these and be confident too.
