Cindino20: Yea...you can be admitted in both summer and winter....I moved to bochum in summer '14. Application for summer semester opens in November or so....till jan.15
I know just one chemical engineer in my dept..he is from the U.S of A....he is done with his masters and doing his phd in Bochum...The first 2yrs chemistry courses u did would probably be introduction ..but u can mail the course advisor a student copy of ir transcript and ask if its compatible.
Aside chemistry u can aslo check out Material science, Some engineering courses.
All the best! Thanks bro, God bless you, but na wa for daad o, why would they exclude chemistry Ruhr Bochum from summer semester na! thank you jarry. |

lobito007: So what are those schools in Berlin where english engineering courses are free? My thorough search on daad.de has not given any Yeah I've noticed that also, most of the private schools for engineering are in Berlin, but this may also be due to the fact that your search on daad is limited to summer, or don't you think so? My curve 7 blackberry device makes my search on daad quiet strenous as well and then the summer semester usually leaves us with few options. Alles Gute. |

Cindino20: A REPLY TO EKE40seven's questions...Apologies for late reply..didnt get the notification.
1.I m Cindino20, studying chemis Lovely, you nailed it all here. But I have some questions as regards your msc course chemistry in Ruhr Bochum, on the website it states that it begins both winter and summer, but on daad it says winter only, did you come across this dilemma during ur application? Also, how many chemical engineers are in your department? Do they admit chemical engineers? I did so many chemistry courses on their course content(and did quiet well in them) from my first 2years in chemical Engineering, but to my surprise Fau erlangen told me by mail that they don't normally admit chemical engineers, so that's why I'm left wondering, thanks again please I await ur incisive response especially on the summer issue and when the application period BEGINS. Danke mein bruder. |

number13: The point I was trying to underline is the fiercely competitive nature of the admission - so much so that a student with very high undergraduate CGPA from Nigeria can be rejected. Good statements of purpose and letters of recommendation sure helps, but especially when they are unsure about Nigeria's academic standard as it is, one's grades in the relevant subjects - to which the CGPA is directly related - is the most important factor, and a 3.30 CGPA on a 5.0 scale might simply not cut it. Then what reason did they give your first class friend for his rejection? I think we should take note of the fact that indians and chinese apply to these courses too year in year out, and in addition to their first class grades, they also have very good practical work and experience in related fields, some have high GRE scores, or have made researches and published journals even from their school days, so sometimes our work experience and motivation letter or 1000 words essay(sometimes required by TUM) would have to be powerful as well to keep us in the competition.Danke. |

Hello house, I appreciate everyone in this thread and all our ogas dem, Eke et al. There's something I really want to learn about uniassist though it's not an issue that comes up often, as regards the way they convert our Nigerian cgpa, do they do it the normal way or has anyone had an experience with them in which they used a different maximum or minimum grade for us,especially those who have dealt with them recently, I await your incisive responses. Again keep up the good work guys. Danke. |

sonyville: Hello.guys... Please I want to apply for MSc again as my first application didn't work out (just got informed) . I went thru Daad but the schools I saw didn't seem to be accepting applications now for summer even when daad claim they have summer session. I saw Rhine Wahl, university of applied sciences bremerhaven, university of Flensburg etc. Do anyone have any school currently accepting applications for summer ie March/April 2016? I want to apply. Thanks for ur anticipated response Most appplications for summer usually begins october or November especially with schools under uniassist, what course are u applying for in flensburg and bremerhaven? and what are the other schools u've found cos I'll also apply for summer by God's grace. You can check lasers and photonics- ruhr bochum, nuclear applications- fh aachen(they only take those with prior nuclear knowledge in summer, all other related fields are for winter) lnternational engineering design lubeck(only need 35 applicants), and many others, you have more options than I with a chemical engineering degree. Alles Gute. |

Please what is the meaning of 180 credit points? 180 credit points is usually equivalent to 6 semesters or 3years of study. My two onions though, Cheers. |

Atigba: Thanks Your German grade is 2.8 if I'm not mistaken, some private schools might take you, also the university of applied sciences in Germany may consider your work experience as well, so just go out there and apply to about 5 schools including private schools, and believe you me your chances are high. Alles Gute. |

kennyoguns0509: Though from experience/ regular uni-assist customer either dey evaluate ur document or u apply through uni-assist it depend on d skool to reject/admit. In a nutshell it depend on d skool Yea you are right, and it may also depend on the number of places available for the particular course, so it seems the admission process and timing varies not just from school to school but from department to department in same school |

obiWon1: I greet u all my good people... I appreciate d good work u guys are doing in here. The information that has been dropped here since part 1 of this thread is unquantifiable and has been of immense help 2 alot peeps.
I've been observing and reading silently (pardon my silent mode)... I would like 2 state my case humbly and as well get as much info d house could offer.
Am a BSc holder... Am aiming to be admitted come this Winter Semester. I've applied (though a bit late) 4 my masters in Cottbus-BTU Bradenburg via Uni-assist. I've made my payment & as well hav receive an acknowledgement and payment receipt via mail but till date d status of my applications are still showing 'processing not yet started' even though d application deadline has elasped.
My questions... - For those that hav been makin use of Uni-assist services, is there any mail they ought to hav send i've not receive apart from d ones i started above.
- What are my chances of still being admitted seeing that alot of prospective Winter Semester peeps have already gotten their admisson letter and some has already secured their Visa but mine is yet to be processed by uni-assist before onward forwarding to my chosen School.
- To avoid missing out this Semester - knowing fully well i will bang d admission with my degree Cert. - i had to apply for BSc too. as well in same Course & School. Do u guys think my action would limit my chances of getting admitted for d Masters (assuming dsame admission panel for Masters would still precide over that of Degree) on d ground my action looks desperate.
Pls pardon if my questions, somehow, hav been answered previously... And to some that might see my questions as weird . When u see testimonies flying around, u tend to be more apprehensive and anxious to receive yours as well.
Waiting in anticipation for a reply. Thank you all.
And to guys that hav secure theirs... Congratutions! I will rejoice with u guys soon. Isha Allah. I think you should worry less, from what I've gathered so far from the part one of this thread and elsewhere, and if past experiences are anything to go by, application made to uniassist even a day before the deadline would still be sent to the school, and in many schools admission would still be on even until august. My 2 cowries though. |
