Bro..that's not true. I applied to University of Duisburg-Essen and I was rejected. The reason for my rejection was because I submitted proficiency letter in English language in lieu of TOEFL/IELTS.

I mailed the school and they replied me that the examination committee made a decision not to accept proficiency letter again bcoz they have bad experience about proficiency letter. Note: the school accepted proficiency letter during 2014/15 admission nd they didn't accept it this year.

I got admitted to another school with a proficiency letter addressed to uni-assist. The school is not even under uni-assist oo. I sent my documents directly to the school with a proficiency letter addressed to uni-assist.

So, every school with different admission requirements. Germans are kinda strict with their requirements. If they ask for letter "A", jes give it to them. They might not accept any other document in lieu of it.

Oooohk.....still on d matter #TeamWinter2015 #Freiburger grin
That reminds me of the canadian thread where a skool some1 applied to in canada, Only just recently stopped accepting letter of profficiency for Nigerians and when asked why by mail replied dat it seems Nigerians speak many oda languages aside English. Dat one show say our Naija guys fit don go der go dey nak pidgen, thereby spoiling tins for odas coming behind. God help Naija.

Williamso pls I need ur advice here, the student copy has NOT FOR OFFICIAL USE boldly written on it, if I certify it would dat statement on it no longer matter? besides uniport has refused to certify it for me.

Ok. Since you've collected before, it shouldn't be much of a problem as they shouldn't be sending anything to your department. Still, make sure you pressure them. Mine took almost 3 months from start to finish... I didn't even bother certifying there. I simply made my photocopies and proceeded to Federal High Court, station road. Then the state courts were in strike.
Kk thanks mein bruder, I appreciate.

Hahahaha. Once I saw the cost, I knew. Hope you took the request to your department, else, you're on your own. I made that mistake and one month later they hadn't even started processing it.
Are u for real? God abeg o, actually I sent an official copy elsewhere this year march, so I just believed it would b faster this time. Please let me ask this, were u able to certify d student copy in skool? Do u think I can do dat at exam and records? I greet u my fellow G unique brother.

Please, what are the advantages of IELTS over TOEFL?
No real advantage actually, just that ielts is easier in terms of registeration while sometimes for Toefl, u may require an agent if u can't do it properly. Also they approximate the results to ur advantage. I'll also recommend ielts to anyone prefferably than Toefl.

Anyone preparing for summer application ? ......I'm interested ooh ... wanna give it a try even though its competitive and tight ...( I read mechanical engineering with 3.30 cgpa , ielts 6.5, GRE 151 quantitative , 148 verbal )

pls house , when is the right time to send my documents to uni assist ? Now that applications are not open or should i wait until applications open ?

Eke , Twinkle1, obinwann , styles and co make una answer ...i have cowries to give out ooooo...... lol
There's certainly no need for you to be in haste, rather if u've chosen ur desired school and course, start working on ur motivation letter. You can start checking on uniassist from october/November, however there are some schools with deadlines in septmbr/october, but most are not under uniassist. Cheers.

You can apply for it, it is okay, but make sure you also apply to oda schools and hope for the best, bremerhaven states on their website that there are just 15 places for the course but that shouldn't deter you, also check for their requirements to see if you can meet all. While doing that continue streaming for courses with daad, and check for summer. Cheers.

As far as I know, GRE is not required.
Check WWW.daad.de/en check for international programmes, search the portal by filtering appropriately for the programmes you want. Since you still have time, Read this thread from pali to pali and get yourself informed and you will be fine.
I assume you are one of those that crossed over from Canada so the spoonfeeding.

P.s Getting winter admission can be a bit challenging as more opportunities are open for winter intake.
Oga Eke welldone sir, what u mean is getting summer admission can be challenging!

No negative consequence but positive one. I applied to four courses in a school and ope lo jasi. But note: If you are applying through uni-assist, you will only pay for one course while the rest are free even if they are up to 10 courses; so far it's in the same school. Fire your application as soon as possible because it makes different sometimes. Best of luck
I thought u'll pay 75 euros for one and den 15 euros each for odas! I mean the uniassist tin, or is it dat u'll only pay the latter when applying to oda schools only?

M y fellow #team bremen. I hope you have paid your semester fee. I have been disappointed by our Nigerian banks ooo. Read my story:

I went to a nearby access bank branch in ikorodu to pay for the semester fee last week Wednesday. After many pressure on the branch manager to initiate the transfer, he said they will initiate it, I waited till Monday evening no feedback. I headed straight to Fidelity HQ to open acct and pay the fees plus blocked account on Tuesday. Madam Adeola said the semester fee will fly' but the blocked account cannot fly' saying I need a letter from my school stating the cost of living on a letter headed paper. I had to carry on with the semester fee processing. meanwhile I sent a mail to my schools to help with the letter.
From Fidelity, I head to First Bank Headqtrs in Marina (221.78 to an euro as at Tuesday), I showed them my credentials for blocked account, they said its okay that they can make my money fly'.

This morning on my way to fidelity to enquire about my transaction, I received a mail from FBnk that my transaction was declined. Reason: they need a proof of payment of semester fee. On getting to Madam Adeola, she said they are lack of FUNDS (I don't really undstand what she meant) until they hear from CBN. meanwhile semester fee deadline is August 15th. From there I went to confirm the mail I got from First Bank by meeting the transferring officer. He said if I can provide the evidence of payment there wouldn't be issue. I considered creating a new transaction with first bank to pay the semester fee since they have funds in treasury, which I did! though fidelity own is still in process. I don't want to take any risk that's why I opened the transaction in two banks (whichever one succeed first I will stick with and withdraw from the other account). I don't know if it has any consequence.

Advice to those that are yet to fund should get all necessary document in advance especially the letter from the school.

my question is, If this transaction is not successful tomorrow (which I believe will) what will be the consequence in Bremen and do I need to let my school know situation of things? please I need your input .

@ Nellyb24 you are mouthed for securing that Earth Science admission, I fear' when I saw the 10 limited slots when I wanted to apply then.
Lol, they said 10 limited slots, but the oda side of the story is that very few people apply to that Earth science course, in 2012/13 session, they had only 20 spots but just 21 people applied, so they had to reduce it to 10 slots the following session, then 33 people applied! and even last session just 15 people applied, so the course is not always that competitive, and like nelly said motivation letter matters.Anyway ur bremen course beats dat earth science course anytime in my opinion.

Obiwann thank you very much jarry, again I'm surprised I didn't find this polymer science on the daad website, is it that I didn't check well? Or daad hasn't been updated for a while?thanks anyway.
Hmnn, as regards the chemistry stuff my brother just as cindino guessed I have passion for chemistry, that's the main reason I chose chemical engineering, but to my amazement chemical engineering is way different from chemistry, it is more of thermodynamics, calculus, plant process design, heat transfer, etc. But the second reason I thought I could also apply for chemistry msc is that options
Were few, thanks for this polymer info.

I think they do it the normal way... I applied through them (and I am still awaiting admission decision). After their processing and evaluation of my application documents and my CGPA after being converted to that of German System is exactly dsame to what I got when I did it myself using the conversion calculator
During d conversion, I used maximum as 5.0 and minimum as 1. So for them to get exactly what I got signify it's done the normal way...

Check your mail. Sorry for d late reply.
Thank you, I'll reply u soon boss, though sometimes I have u confused with obiwann(another correct guy) lol.

Please, has anybody applied to study medicine in Germany?
Some may have applied, but it's rare to find, because even in Germany the course has a national numerus clausus, so I believe this may be the reason why, also I do not think you can easily find a medical course without at least a B1 German knowlege requirement but notwithstanding you could search the daad to see if you can find English taught medicine programs.
My two onions. Cheers.

[quote author=daimlerbenz post=36770684]Well based on your query, I did a search. Except if this is not the course you want . But yes, there is a tuition free Masters in Berlin. Check quote)
Nope, that won't do, he's more concerned about courses that begins in summer, and that course in ur link begins in winter semester, I agree with him cos I've also found out(at least on daad) that there is hardly any(if any) free tuition engineering course in berlin for SUMMER application
