^^ Come back home as soon as you are done, we need to educate all out Muniratus and Iyabos well. |
But 75% of technical graduates and more than 85% of general graduates are unemployable by India's high-growth global industries, including information technology and call centers, according to results from assessment tests administered by the group. That's some alarming statistics I hope nikkygal is wrong about how light-skinned-struck or foreign-struck we are in Nigeria, but with the little I've noticed, I doubt she's exaggerating. |
^New section, new trolls. SMH |
This is extremely shameful, See raw cash!!! meanwhile, little kids are dying all over Nigeria in poorly funded hospitals! Roads not fixed, Police underfunded, Workers paid death wages, No light! no water! Please name and shame those Journalists. |
Eziachi:Quoted with Respect and for Posterity! |
One United! |
I agree. The explosion in information technology has contributed massively to the passion we've witnessed so far. But Nigerians have always been passionate about politics and governance anyway. We've anointed kings and we've poisoned them, We fought slave raiders and battled colonialism, We hailed Military rulers and burned civilian usurpers (wetie!). We fought a civil war with enduring pains and made sacrifices for peace. We are a passionate people and all we've witnessed so far this season are different manifestations of that Naija passion. I expect to see more. Yes, the legacy of Military rule silenced a generation of Nigerians, but their children are shaking off the fear. They are declaring their freedom to speak and be heard. I don't think their voices will grow quiet any soon, I hope these leaders, whichever party they belong to are ready for them. Nigerians like "Beaf" will give a lazy President Buhari Hell and I'm glad to count him as a brotha, while a Nigerian like Oyb will never let President Jonathan's mess-up's go unnoticed. They are simply telling us that the Naija spirit is alive and they won't suffer fo.ols and laggards. I hope these new generation of leaders are ready for us. |
@greateros. Good post! Let's forget the fights and vote Buhari + Bakare + Fashola for a progressive Nigeria. . . |
edoyad:It's malicious propaganda by PDP http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/News/Metro/Politics/5687614-146/story.csp "The message, being circulated under the title of "Lagos Voters" read that "Fashola says no to Tinubu's juju oath swearing, let us all pray for Fashola's protection from the evil Tinubu godfather." "Mr Fashola, while speaking to journalists after a meeting of the party's leaders held at Mainland Hotel in Oyingbo, urged all Lagos residents to ignore the message. "I will ignore it and I implore every right thinking member of our party to remain vigilant," he said. "This is the manifestation of the corrupt character of the PDP which is posing as Labour and all sorts of things to destabilise all other parties. People must be vigilant. They must wake up to all these false antics. They must ignore all these text messages of fear and deception. People should ignore all those text messages; they are messages of farewell because the PDP is going." -Babatunde Raji Fashola |
Jarus:I agree, there is no need to attack ACN. It serves no strategic purpose. We will send word to Bakare. Buhari + Bakare + Ribadu + Fashola = BBRF 2011 !! |
There is a lot to admire about Ribadu. There is really no need for this rancour, Nuhu Ridadu has proven himself to be an effective administrator and a progressive at least by current Nigerian Standards. I will welcome an alliance with Buhari, Let us focus on the real enemies. Buhari + Bakare + Ribadu + Fashola = BBRF Progress 2011!! |
Palmgrove!! Buhari + Bakare + Fashola!! |

Ibime:
@kalokalo: I think military rule might have ruined the minds of our politicians. Militaries by their nature must be centralized, socialistic, etc. Nigeria by its multi-ethnic nature needs to be run in a decentralized manner, if we want it to succeed. A wiser, more visionary leader would be thinking about how he could empower the states and LGs, and use them as engines for growth. GEJ instead seems to prefer this top-down approach.
Nuff said.
A whole bunch of boondoggle projects in the making. May Buhari kill these projects.
|

fstranger3:There is an argument to be made about our lack of clearly defined political ideologies or even a coherent social ideology. I welcome that argument and I will agree with you on that. BUT we still have something, we have a situation; We have a country, we have living breathing human beings, as imperfect as they are, we have laws, as much as I disagree with them, we have Religions based on moral codes of right and wrong, we have moral ideals even within our imperfect state and culture. So, It should not be too difficult for an Adeboye, Kumuyi, Oyedepo, Imam Whatchamacallit to guide their flock and speak boldly against the oppressive acts of our politicians and political leaders. to keep quiet and maintain this peace of a grave yard is unacceptable, what peace? is America not peaceful? aren't their Religious leaders taking sides? What we have is the peace of an executioners room. I do not care about Tinubu, condemn him, do the same to Buhari, Obasanjo, Igbinedion, Ibori and Co. Do it across the parties, Speak out against the oppression and looting presided over by these people. The poor roads, poor healthcare, terrible education services and large scale insecurity endured by your congregants every day should move you to take a stand and be specific about it. I refuse to accept that their duty stops at the collection table, Nigerians are groaning and dying and all you can do is leave them to their fate and hope for the best? eff your rituals then! As a religious leader, You lose your right to preach morality to me if you cannot stand side by side with me against oppression and immoral rule. MLK did not hide behind the bible, neither did Archbishop Oscar Romero. Just like the Great Awakening provided a foundation for the Political reforms and revolution that swept across Europe and the colonies in the 16th century helping to give birth to America as we know it, I believe our self appointed custodian of faiths can help bring some change to Nigeria. I agree, we don't have a coherent set of ideologies, but we have a situation. let them speak to it. Warrior, I may not be a fan of their faith. But considering the influence they have over people's minds, I definitely despise their silence. It is an immoral silence. BTW, I saw your dig at DK and Naijababe ![]() |

Great work y'all, in less than 24hours?! whoever the forum member that is willing to foot that bill, may you and your generation never walk alone.Amin Ase Edumare! God bless Oyb too! I will join the FB page as soon as I can, I will send you an e-mail Ceah. I also think the Yahoogroup idea is great. I already belong to a few Naija politics groups on Yahoo. Jarus, call the group whatever you choose, Internet warrior, Vanguard, or anything is ok by me, just give it an identity. |
aribisala0: the fact remains that the north feeds the south with grain, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, millet onions, beef, sheep, goats and chickens the flow of these products in nigeria is unidirectional from north to south ALWAYS. last year the transporters went on strike and lagos nearly starved with food price inflation of more than 100%Not all True Grain? what grain? Millet and Rice? beans? The most widely consumed staples in Nigeria are Rice, Yam, Cassava, Maize and their various by-products. no? Yam: Predominantly South to Lower middelbelt produce: SW(Ondo-Akure-Akoko-Owo-Ipele axis), Ekiti, Osun, SE Imo, Ebonyi Enugu) Kogi, Benue, Nassarawa. You can look it up Nigeria is the Largest Producer of Yam in the World, and it's production comes largely from the Rain forest South to the Southern limit of the Northern Savannah. Rice: largely imported. South or North has little to do with that. Cassava: Mainly produced in the South. 17.6 million tonnes in the South alone --> http://www.fao.org/docrep/007/y5548e/y5548e07.htm Kogi and Benue produces about 7 out of the 9 million from outside the south. Corn: Very localized production, Produced more in the South due to it's two-seasonal characterestics, early maize and late maize from Akuros and Fadamas. If you can prove me wrong I'll be glad. but I say South. Yes, the spices like Tomatoes, Onions, Pepper and are mainly grown in the North plus Beef, Maybe goat, but I'm not too sure about that, I know we have different goat varieties across the regions. I don't think people will starve because of those spices. Beef of course is very important. I think Northerners control much of the Truck and food transport business, I believe that was the reason for the Scarcity, I've personally witnessed lines of Trucks from Lagos and Kano buying Truckloads of Yam from Local farmers at Ipele near Owo in Ondo State during the Yam season, that's in the South. I don't think Chicken is predominanlty raised in the North, It is a more even spread by my guesstimation. I may be wrong, I will welcome credible data on that. Potatoes, Millet: These are not Nigerian staples, Nigerians eat very little of those, especially in the South. no? I think we scare ourselves too much about these things, anyway, our failure to count ourselves and produce credible national data is to blame for all these assumptions. Slightly off topic: North or South, I believe Nigeria is largely self sufficient in food production, at least for our local staple consumption, what we need is to make more money from our large human resources through large scale Farm commercialization, mechanized farming and increased export. by the way, lest i forget, eeefffff the British! |
