My Lexus RX300 revs at 4000 for 120km/hr on the highway. Isn't this too high for such speed? And my fuel consumption is too high.
I plan on driving this car from Lagos to Kaduna for Christmas

Scan the car, I bet your knock sensor or TPS sensor is bad.

The main issue i am having is that while on motion the vehicle jerks and once i take off my leg from the accelerator is stops jerking amd moves but the movement isnt smooth as i know a car's movement should be so i scanned after wasting money from trial and error mechanics.

Please help me out, is there an educated and sincere Engineer that i can take this car to that will just fix these issues without skinning me.

That's same car that was involved in a collision that was fixed by me.

I can see a passenger who's careless about her safety because she did not wear her seatbelt, hence her forehead hitting the windshield. Probably, he was driving a little too fast or was high from drinks and or smoke.

EOD. I discovered the stereo plays when i off the headlight / dashboard light but malfunction when i put on the lights.

Have your electrician take out the radio, open the fascia, use rubbing alcohol or any appropriate electrical cleaner, clean it and allow to dry. He may also do same for your steering wheel control and dashboard components.

I took my car to car wash 3 days ago
After the boy wash the car finished he uses the dashboard spray he saw inside my car. I never told him to spray it oh.

He empty the full can all over my dashboard and 4 doors.

Since then my stereo has been malfunctioning. I can't play FM/music anymore. It look like more than one button is on standby. It just keep turning and switching.

I thought it will work by itself after a day or two. But it's already 2 days. I am just sad men. Driving no longer fan as music cannot be played

Is there any way I can solve this?

Hello, my good people.

So I'm a first time car owner (since February of this year) and I'm in a distressing situation.

I own a Hyundai Elantra 2015 model and the original compressor for the car go damaged sometime in May. The technical told me it would be impossible to get a manual Hyundai compressor and the automatic compressor won't last and was expensive. He ended up constructing and fixing a Peogut compressor.

Ever since then I noticed that the vibration of my car increased, although it's negligible but the car's sound has changed.

Fast forward to date, I started hearing a knocking sound when I turn on the car. I took it to my mechanic and they said the sound is coming from the compressor and not the engine. The disconnected the fan belt so the pulleys were not turning and the sound wasn't there.

I spent around 20k just yesterday trying to fix the sound and I just wasted my money. The AC guy said the bearing and pulley of the compressor is bad, so he changed it but yet the sound is still there.

At this point I'm getting fed up. Please has anyone been in the same situation or experienced the same issue?

I need help.

Replace the AC compressor with the type that is meant for your car brand new.

I bought a new 75aH battery for my Nissan Xterra SUV 2001 3 months and half ago.
For more than a months now, I noticed whitish particles on the positive and negative terminals of the battery.
I usually clean the particles and the car will start after some 10 , 15 or even 30 minutes but the same cycle has been repeating itself over and over again.
At times the car will go off when I drive for 60- 90 minutes and i will have to clean the whitish particles before it will start again.
The check battery/low battery light also come on repeatedly.

I am tired of all this.

(1) Please What should I do?
(2) I want to service my car. Which type of engine oil should I buy?

Wash with detergent and water, then apply copious amounts of grease or Vaseline to the battery post and wiring terminals.

I Just finished installing new piston rings on my engine.

I need a work through stages to follow.

After the fix the car idles for about 6hours. And alot of fuel bunts for ring siting.

But My mechanic told me not to fire the car and to drive it gently and change the oil one week time and i most not carry load or use the AC for now.

But from online search they talk about 500/1000 miles for break-in.

Some reports said 30mins is enough for ring to sit properly.

After changing the knock sensor, I enjoyed it for few days, the car move smoothly select well without sluggish.
Just yesterday as am about to overtake one car, it start to sluggish again and I Have to match it up to pick.

I was so worried and I took it to rewire and he scanned to detect that the knock sensor they changed was fake.
The code below Is what the machine saw:

P0325 knock sensor 1 circuit ( Bank 1 or single sensor

P1346 VVT sensor/ Camshaft position sensor circuit range/performance problem bank 1

The rewire now said he will buy tokunbo knock sensor that will work, but I saw some new knock sensor on JUMIA

Have an electrician check your wiring to your camshafts sensor and knock sensors, if they're good, buy tokunbo sensors that is removed from a tokunbk engine.
