- Nigerians were ranked number 29 in the world as among the best in English proficiency

- The ranking was based on English proficiency tests done by a sample of adults in countries that participated
Nigerians are the third-best speakers of English in Africa, according to the latest report by a global private language tutor, Education First (EF) .
The country was ranked number 29 in the world with South Africa being ranked number six globally.
The English Proficiency Index (EPI) by the Switzerland-based company ranks Kenya behind South Africa even though Nairobi still emerged as the highest placed African city.

Other African countries that appeared in the top 100 list included Ethiopia (63), Tunisia (65), Egypt (77), Cameroon (83), Sudan (87), Algeria (90), Ivory Coast (96) and Libya (100).
Nigeria ranked fourth most corrupt country in West Africa
The top country in the world was the Netherlands followed by Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Singapore finishing the list of the top five.
Kenya had a high proficiency EF EPI score of 60.51 with Netherlands leading with 70.27%.
In terms of city's, Nairobi emerged top in Africa with an EPI score of 61.94% followed by Lagos which scored 58.47%.
Africa’s average proficiency score dropped, primarily due to score changes in South Africa and Ethiopia and to the inclusion of Sudan and Cameroon, which both fall in the ''very low'' proficiency band, the report said.
The EF report links English proficiency to innovation, public investment in research and development, number of researchers per a population of one million as well as technicians per capita.
The scores are achieved through analysing results from 2.3 million adults who took an online English test in 2018 via EF Standard English Test, 100 countries participated.

My people, Something really terrible just occurred now.

I have dated my girlfriend for about 6 months, she is the most open individual I've ever met... She has told me most of her secrets. She is a very beautiful and intelligent girl and what really made us thick is that I was there when she had seizures in the past.

To the issue, She answered a call today and I felt suspicious and I decided to confront her immediately, but as she was trying to explain, I cut in and acted with mistrust and accusations that I suspect cheating. She left by saying she needs space but I feel I've lost her because I'll be once guilty of inducing her seuzures.

6th of January 2020 is the day I won’t forget. I work as a personal assistant/secretary to my boss who happens to be a former politician.

My boss came to work with her housemaid for her to help in sweeping, cleaning and tidying up the office being the resumption day. She instructed us on how to go about it before she stepped out from the office promising to come back in the afternoon.

We started the work immediately until afternoon time when I decided to rest and eat. My worst mistake and nightmare was attempting to put my hand on her shoulder in my stupid bid to convince her. Immediately my hand touched her shoulder she started shouting continuously that I want to rape her, that she will deal with me; in fact that I will get sacked. At first I told her my intention, but she wouldn’t hear me, I then resorted to pleading, I even knelt down begging her that it wasn’t my intention to rape or grab her. She couldn’t stand my talks and pleading, she called the boss immediately telling her that I want to rape her. We narrated everything to the boss, (a lawyer), when she returned. After hearing from us she said she has stayed with her maid for couple of years, thus she trust her, and it may be true that I wanted to rape her or lure her for sex. She couldn’t see my explanation, pleadings and even crying. She said she has two options; either to call police for me or to sack me. That’s how she later sacked me that day.

I have been devastated and depressed since that day, not because of the sack but the allegation and accusation that was not even on my mind. The worst is that as an introvert I have no one to talk to, I am damn down.

Notes: 1. I have no intention of raping, grabbing or having sex with her
2. I will not be so stupid to rape or have sex with the housemaid in the office knowing that the boss will come at any time

there are lots of them moving around freely and the govt is just watching. on December in this same surulere, a madman close to love garden in surulere popularly known as ndubuisi created a huge fire with lots of used tyres. the fire almost burnt cars and buildings. it happened at midnight and fire service personnel had to rush to put out the fire yet till now he is still roaming around setting small fires to every object he picks up on the streets.

People cried while others clutched pictures of the late commander. Mourners passed his coffin over their heads and "death to America" chants were heard.
His daughter Zeinab Soleimani warned the US it faces a "dark day" for the killing. "Crazy Trump, don't think that everything is over with my father's martyrdom," she said.

But in a statement, Iran said it would no longer observe limitations on its capacity for enrichment, the level of enrichment, the stock of enriched material, or research and development.
Three European parties to the deal - Germany, France and the UK - urged Iran to abide by its terms.

Following warnings from Iran, Mr Trump said that the US would respond in the event of retaliation for Soleimani's death, "perhaps in a disproportionate manner".

President Trump also threatened severe sanctions against Iraq if US troops left.
"We have a very extraordinarily expensive air base that's there. It cost billions of dollars to build. We're not leaving unless they pay us back for it," he told reporters.
