The civil war that Nigeria won with the help of Britain, Russia, Egypt and millions of Dollars in Arab league money. Some victory indeed. The same war with Boko Haram that Nigeria needs Cameroon, Niger, America and now Colombia to get anywhere.


All the civil war did was bring Nigeria under Northern domination. Ojukwu was fighting to free his people while all others were fighting to be slaves of the North in the name of Lord Lugards "one Nigeria"

Ibos have the most debilitating and shameful form of inferiority complex! Is it by force that he must be ibo? Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh is an Ika man from Abavoh. Even the name of the king of the Ika people is Ikechukwu. This is all one needs to know if they are wondering if Ika people are Igbo or not. One thing I do know, when we Igbos get Biafra, not one inch of Delta-Igboland will be conceded to Nigeria.

Your post has some errors. Ojukwu never went to Sandhust, he went to Eton officer cadet college England. Another thing is this assumption that Ojukwu entered the Army because he wanted to one day sieze power. Ojukwu only joined the army when his father used his influence to frustrate Ojukwu out his his new posting to Calabar as a district officer. I also don't know where you got this idea that Ojukwus father, Sir Louis Ojukwu had any doubt that Ojukwu was his son. Have you seen pictures of both men? Ojukwu was a carbon copy of his father. It is also untrue that Ojukwu was abandoned by his father. What happend was that Ojukwus father initially left Ojukwu in the North with his monther while he worked in Lagos, it wasn't until Ojukwus father became financially strong that he sent for them. Many men still leave their kids in one part of the country to work some where else, even to this day.


One Last thing, the title of this thread is misleading. You should have said you were writing about Ojukwu and not Biafra. Biafra was never about Ojukwu. Biafra was about the right of the Igbos and certain minorities in the south of Nigeria forming their own country out of the British fabrication called Nigeria. A right they still have to this day.

I and most Igbos love Ojukwu for one reason. He fought for our freedom. Win or lose isn't as important as the fact that at least fought when all others like Awolowo decided to become a$$ lickers to Gowon.

There is no such thing as Nigerian banks, Nigerian school or hospitals. What you have are banks, Schools and hospitals who offer their to anybody regardles of what colour of passport you hold as long as you have money. TheIt no such thing as Nigerian money, what you have is Nigerian legal tender which open to anybody to use, be it Nigerian, Biafran or Cameroonian. As for the statehood you talk about, we already achieved once before and held it for 3 years. Biafrans don't have to brag about a statehood something they have already done in the past. As for the Yorubas breaking out of Nigeria,not only is this not possible, they don't even have the sense of self determination to even start breaking out in the first place. As for the so called SS, a geographical term Abacha came up with that is not even recognised in the constitution, not only are SS Igbos going with their Igbo brothers into Biafra, most of the non SS Igbos are tired of Nigeria. SS is not a people but a collection of ethnic groups. Go and educate your self, you have a lot to learn.

The problem is that you are looking at Okorocha and Nigeria from the point of view of a Nigerian. I'm looking at Okorocha and Nigeria from the point of view of a Biafran. We will never be able to see the same thing.

South-Africa was one of the last countries to get its independence from white minority rule in the 90's. Look at South-Africa today. If South-Africa stands still, Nigeria will not catch up in 20 years. I think that had the colonial masters stayed on, Nigeria would have been far more developed for 2 main reasons. Ethnic bigotry abd sectionalism which holds Nigeria today would not have been a major issue. Also, Africans have proved not to be effective abd disciplined administrators as the White man. Zik, Awolowo and all the other nationalists who fought for independence wanted self rule for Nigeria but I doubt if any of them ever wondered if Nigeria could work as a nation. We have had 55 years to know the answer to that question

How can I be patriotic to Nigeria when I believe in Biafra far more than I believe in Nigeria?

I will commend Okorocha on his philanthropic gestures. Any man who uses his own personal wealth to better the lives of others deserves recognition. However, when it comes to politics, Rochas is a crafty snake. The man is a traitor to his people and a bad example of a leader. Rochas can be praised and adored in the north but cannot command the same in his own homeland. The man more Hausa than Igbo,infact, he speaks far better Hausa than Igbo. The man can prance around his northern friends for now but if history has thought us anything, it is that the North use eventually dump their southern friends. And when this eventually happens to "Okorohausa" and he runs back to us in the east, that's when we Igbos will show him what we do to traitors and sabotures.

So you don't know that Ojukwu consulted the minorities of the Niger-Delta before declaring Biafra? Have you heard about the Eastern Nigeria consultative assembly? After Ken Saro Wiwa,Adaka Boro and David Ejoor fought to return your precious Niger-Delta back to "Hausa/Fulani control", what happened? Adaka and Ken were murdered and David Ejoor was unceremoniously kicked out of the army and retired while the Oil and gas wealth was stolen. Real sweet. Ken led his people into slavery.

Ojukwu was fighting to free him and other minorities of what is now known as the Niger-Delta from Northern Nigerian Hausa-Fulani hegemony, while he was fighting to return to 'one Nigeria'. What happened later? Nigeria then won the war and took all the resources of the Niger-Delta people and dumped toxic waste from Oil exploration on their lands. When Ken Saro Wiwa protested, they hanged him. Ken Saro Wiwa along with other misguided Niger-Deltans like Adaka Boro thought the Igbo man was the problem. By the time they learnt who the real enemy was, death was knocking at the door. Ken Saro Wiwa was a foolish man

If it was a civilised country, it would have been automatic sack for the military personnel, doesn't matter if he has the rank of a field marshal. But we talking about Nigeria so................

The sense of self determination of a Yoruba man ends in regionalism, infact, I'm even surprised that it is as high as that. The Yoruba man is not yet mentally sophisticated enough to seek his own country or Oduduwa Republic, not even in a 100 years time.

Nigeria is a 55 year old failed British experiment. Not all endeavours will succeed despite best intentions. Marriages fail, businesses fail, partnerships fail. Let us all come together and admit that Nigeria has failed as a nation and that it is time for us to dismantle this British contraption and negotiate a peaceful withdrawal from each other.

We Igbos are more than ready for independence from Nigeria. In reality, Igbos would rather pull out of Nigeria peacefully through a referendum as has been done in other civilised countries like Czecoslovakia,Indonasia and Britain. Unfortunately, Nigeria is not a civilised country and the Government does not understand conflict resolution. We were all made Nigerians by Lord Lugard, we simply ask for the independence we enjoyed before Lugard came. It is our own shame as Africans if we resort to killing each just to uphold the 'whitemans idea' called Nigeria. But should war come, it will be bloody, and at the end of it, there is no way Nigeria will be able to come back together because there will be nothing to come back to except pure hatred. How can we be killing each other in the millions and keep telling each other we are one Nigeria?

Both men where at the Aiport with Ojukwu the day he flew out. Ojukwu even inspected a guard of honour in full military uniform. If you were waiting for Ojukwu to stay back and be captured or killed over a war that had already ended, keep waiting. These Fulani men are openl brandishing AK47's which we all have seen. There nothing that can be done against them in the south. The only solution to the Fulanis is the declaration of Biafra. Within one month of the declaration of Biafra, there will not be one single Fulani in the SE/SS area as they will all be sent back to the north with their Cows and any of them who comes back will only have themselves to blame

I heard that they, along with the Badagry people and the Eguns are the original owners of Lagos. The Yorubas merely defeated them and claimed Lagos. But I can't substantiate anything so don't quote me.

The Aworis constitute a huge proportion of Lagos Indigeneship, from Badagry to Lagos Island, isheri, Ikeja, Ajah to Ibeju Lekki, they are the original settlers of those towns, the Eguns and Aworis are the major indigenes of Lagos, because of their numerical disadvantage successive administrations have often neglected them both in appointments and elective offices, this is very unfair, i implore Ambode to redress this great anomaly.

This is one reason i will never support regionalism in Nigeria, i prefer true federalism based on states, Regionalism will simply turn we Eguns and Aworis to slaves in our land, because we don't have a huge population does not mean we should be treated like conquered slaves in our own land.

Unfortunately, true federalism is not based on states, it is based on regions. I don't think you know that under a regional system, Aworis might get their own province but under this unitary system, the best they can hope for is to be part of a local Government.
