ThatFairGuy1:
These are Yorubas that can contest and win the election. Tinubu, Osinbajo, Fashola, Aregbesola, Fayemi, Gbajabiamila, Amosun.
To say who'll vote Yorubas is just a misplaced statement, it's much more befitting for you people. Go all over the internet and see how your brothers are insulting all and sundry in Nigeria. You think there won't be any implication of such behaviour?

Haven't said that, You know SW is MUCH MORE SELLABLE THAN SE.
Our voting strength is firstly an advantage to us THAN YOU EASTERNERS.
Second, The three Northern States will vote Yoruba candidate over Igbos.
We'll gerner 40-45% votes from SS. Even in Ebonyi and Cross Rivers State, we'll gerner votes to some reasonable extent.

About Lawan, a friend won't support his friend when he knows his friend is going to a dead end.

Also, he'll prioritize his own ambition over KALU'S. He won't betray Tinubu that HELPED HIM IN HIS CURRENT POSITION. He's even the first person to start canvassing for Tinubu (Yoruba) presidency since last year.

One thing your are not still Understanding is, we're not doubting the fact that the 2023 presidential ticket of APC is for Yorubas. TAKE NOTE.

TWO BROTHER CONTRIBUTED MONEY TO BUY A BICYCLE, THE FIRST HAS RODE UNDER THE WATCHOUT OF THE SECOND. IT'S NOW THE TURN OF THE SECOND TO RIDE, THOSE THAT CASTIGATED THEM FROM INCEPTION OF THE CONTRIBUTION ARE NOW WILLING TO RIDE BEFORE THE SECOND BROTHER. Even the first brother won't accept.
Surf the internet now, those who're Even campaigning for Tinubu are majorly Hausas and not Yorubas.

LASTLY, APC will never give their ticket to Easterners, it's Political harakiri. Even PDP won't despite the Easterners contribution to the party What they can get is VP slot. WE DON SEE UNA FINISH
Greedy man from the South West. You have had your 8 years with Obasanjo in this 21 years of democratic dispensation. The South South has had 4 years, the South East has had zero. Yet in 2023, you are coming for another term when the two other zones in the South have not yet equaled the 8 years you already had.

But this thread is an eyeopener for you? Your eye has already long opened and closed to the 8 years of Obasanjo, its now opening to another 8 years of Tinubu

These people keep make me laugh. The Northerners keep saying "Igbos should build bridges", "Igbos should reach out", "Igbos should work for Presidency"

But despite Fulani herdsmen slaughtering people across Nigeria, they saw nothing wrong in electing a Fulani man President in 2015 and 2019

When it comes to an Igbo man becoming President of Nigeria, Nigerians will write long list of what Igbos must do.

But when it comes to a Fulani man becoming President, not only will there be no list, the fact that they are killing people everywhere wont even matter

The problem with you people is ignorance.

Bukola was born in England so he was born with British citizenship, he had no choice in the matter, he did not voluntarily acquire citizenship of another country, he did not swear allegiance to Britain. Ngozi deliberately chose to become an American citizen and in doing so she swore allegiance to America. It is part of the process.

It is there in sections 66,107,137 and 182 of the constitution.

Section 66 provides for disqualification from seeking election into the National Assembly (House of Representatives and Senate); Section 107 provides for similar situations in for the House of Assembly; Section 137 provides for the President and Section 182 provides for the Governors. In all cases it is the 1st item in the list of things that disqualify a candidate.

For example, Section 107 provide thus:

(1) No person shall be qualified for election to a House of Assembly if –

(a). Subject to the provisions of Section 28 of this Constitution, he has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a country other than Nigeria or, except in such cases as may be prescribed by the National Assembly, has made a declaration of allegiance to such a country;

The process for voloutary acquisition of US citizenship requires swearing of allegiance.

The difference between Saraki and Ngozi is the word “voluntary”.

She cant even become a minister again according to section 144. (5) which states

"No person shall be appointed as a Minister of the Government of the Federation unless he is qualified for election as a member of the House of Representatives."

Basically, you people are carrying fight for someone who has turned her back on Nigeria.....Quite frankly, i dont blame her.
Lets just assume everything above is correct. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has already served Nigeria in various capacities. I doubt if she is one of those still running around with their CV's in Abuja, looking for ministerial positions.

When it comes to President of Nigeria, her chances of getting to that position are next to zero, same as any of her fellow Igbo

The point is that, just like Tunde Ednut, most Northerners and Yorubas do not trust Igbos with power because they believe it will lead to the break up of Nigeria

What they never bothered to tell anyone is why they are so scared about the break up of Nigeria? Why do they want to be in one country with people they do not trust with power?

Remove Okonjo Iweala's name. Now that she has voluntarily taken up American citizenship, she can no longer contest to be a senator, governor or president in Nigeria.
So you dont know that Bukola Saraki was holding British/ Nigerian citizenship when he was Governor and Senate President?

Let me give you free information.

OBJ successfully blemished Atiku as a corrupt person. OBJ himself is just as dirty in my personal opinion but...Northerners would ALWAYS see Atiku in that light.

Igbos were NEVER forgiven for the 1966 coup in the North. Sample 100 people randomly in the North... if you get more than 20% who would vote for an Igbo, I owe you money.

Seeing an Igbo on the ticket is a no-go area for an average Northerner.

I personally feel it's unfair but that's the brutal bitter reality.
Thats why PDP should field a Northerner and an Igbo man as vice- President. There is no point PDP fielding an Igbo man in 2023 if it will result in certain loss. Northerners will never vote an Igbo man to be President of Nigeria

This means ORJI UZO KALU is the only man in the whole Southeast. Yes, he doesn't stand a chance but I respect him for having the balls to come out.

All the other so-called men should just steal their wives' gowns and run away... as usual undecided
This not about victory or defeat, this is about the reality on the ground. There are many power blocs that will never vote an Igbo man. The only way an Igbo man can be president of Nigeria is if the two man parties, APC and PDP, field Igbo presidential candidates. Any other thing is waste of time. If an Igbo man cannot be President in 2023, then let Atiku be President and Obi be vice- President. No 2 position is better than no position

Remakable how this thread turned into a question of if the South East will succeed.

OP, the question of which area will succeed if Nigeria will break up is not necessary. What matters is that everybody will survive, we all survived when there was no Nigeria

The people will do well are those who have vision, capacity and foresight. No amount of Oil and gas will make people without these qualities to go far.

PoliticsENUGU ATTACK: Unarmed People Killed Under South-east Govs’ Watch— IPOB by kingzizzy(op): 2:16pm On Sep 04, 2020
Following last Sunday’s clash between suspected members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Enugu, Publicity Secretary of the group, Mr. Emma Powerful, in this interview, insists that those killed were unarmed people performing morning exercise, saying South-East governors are more interested in 2023 politics than condemning the incident.

The South-East Senate caucus, Ohanaeze Youths and the Association of South-East Town Unions, ASETU, have called for a judicial panel of inquiry into last Sunday’s alleged killings in Emene, Enugu State. Where does IPoB stand on this

The demand for a judicial panel of inquiry into the Enugu massacre of unarmed IPoB members is a step in the right direction.
But it is one thing to make a demand, and another to heed the demand. It is up to Enugu State government to have the courage to do the needful.

We will be surprised if the governor can dare the leadership in Abuja and set up a panel to unravel the truth of what happened in Enugu on the fateful day for the world to see how our members were massacred in broad daylight by security operatives without any provocation.

Since 2015, security agents have continued their killing spree against peaceful agitators. But all those involved in this one must face the consequences of their action. IPoB has the right to self-defence, and it is our fundamental right to defend ourselves and our land.

All terrorist herdsmen and Boko Haram terrorists in our land must know that we are ready for them. We are warning those giving cover and support to these terrorists ravaging Southern Kaduna and Judeo-Christian Biafrans, that this land won’t contain us with them no matter what they do to deceive the gullible minds.

The South-East governors appear to be silent on the matter…

We are not worried about the silence of governors, senators and other politicians in Igboland because their actions prove that they are part of those planning to cede our ancestral land to outsiders.

We are not banking on them because we know their selfish political interest is paramount to them than the freedom of their people. Their allegiance is to their masters

Some of them have been promised the vice presidential ticket in 2023. That is why they are ready to do anything to actualise such selfish ambitions. They are ready to trade their people for political appointments. The governors have nothing to do or say because they are compromised.

Since it is now obvious to all of us that those who call themselves our leaders are not true leaders, we should be ready to take our destiny in our hands. We say to our people, fear not for our victory shall come in no distant future, and any Igbo blood lost in this epic struggle will be requited manifold.

We are aware that some so-called leaders and commercial Biafra agitators in our land are secretly strategising with our enemies. But one thing is certain, they will regret their actions.

With the alleged Enugu killings suggesting that security agents may keep going after IPOB events, are you going to change your strategies?

Since the formation of IPOB, security agencies have been going after our members, but the one in Emene, Enugu State, on August 23, shows it must stop. That we are a peaceful movement fighting for the peaceful restoration of Biafra does not mean we are cowards

Yes, we have no guns and ammunition, but in the mind of our people is the greatest weapon—The will to be free from domination and terror. We will succeed.

We have the will to survive and the will to build one of the greatest nations on earth. The world would note that the black race can do something unimaginable.

Security agencies keep saying they were attacked by IPOB members? How true is that?

Does such a claim sound logical? How can unarmed persons who came for morning exercise disarm and kill heavily-armed security agents? Does it sound believable?

They have been lying, but the world knows the truth. IPoB, unlike the Nigerian security agencies, does not thrive in propaganda. We speak the truth because we are children of light.

We are not armed and have never killed anyone. Maybe the reason security agents fleeing from Boko Haram and terrorists in the North are slaughtering us like fowls without any provocation is that we are non-violent.

Instead of confronting the terrorists wreaking havoc on both the security forces in the North and ordinary citizens, the Nigerian Army, police and sister-agencies prefer killing peaceful and unarmed Biafra agitators. But enough is enough.

PoliticsWhat Nnamdi Kanu Said About Restructuring Nigeria by kingzizzy(op): 8:41am On Sep 04, 2020
IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, commented on restructuring in tweets. He said:

The human HEART can never be restructured. What destroyed #Nigeria is not it’s structure but the DERANGED hearts of the men who administered the structure. Soviet Union was restructured mega times. It failed. It’s FALL was therefore inevitable. Same fate awaits Nigeria, soon!

Nigeria has crossed the rubicon. Neither Restructuring, nor #IgboPresidency will undo the FINAL damage done by a lying terroristic #Fulani lunatic fringe that lacks the capacity for coexistence. If you want to remain with then, fine. #Biafra is already on its way out.

DSS has no business shooting unarmed citizens

You now want to make it look like the IPOBs are violent by issuing such notice

What you did was wrong

You should have unleashed your aggression on the terrorists in the North instead of killing innocent citizens

May their blood forever hunt all of you involved in thing their lives. Amen!
The DSS just went to where people were having meeting and started shooting unarmed people.

But one good thing came out of all this. Most of the residents of Enugu are now totally against the security forces. The standing of IPOB amongst the general populace in Enugu has risen dramatically while the security forces are now seen as murderers in uniform

Another good thing that came out if this is that many Igbos now believe that the killings have ethnic undertone. They now believe that the security forces are dominated by a section of the country that is using the the proscription of IPOB as an excuse to kill Igbo youths
