Many people nowadays (especially the youth) cannot articulate their ideas as well as their grandfather's used to. They can't speak as clearly and with the same confidence.
I suspect even memes are contributing to that decline in oral communication abilities.

A quick observation about modern dating;
Calling now seems to be going out of style. Ppl now prefer to be texted than being called. I personally prefer calling to texting but things are changing at a fast pace.. Some get really nervous to pick a call.. You can get a girl wet for you and make her come over that same day through text alone nowadays, you can also easily set a date through text alone, same girl might not even pick up your phone if you had started with calling.. Times are changing. There are always few exceptions tho..

Here are the main reasons women do not like calling :

- they are dealing with/texting other men. And so, she may be texting 5 of you at the same time and taking a call would disrupt her flow.

- they have sub-par oral communication skills.

- you are just a simp she feast attention on. Why would she waste her energy talking to you when a "k" or "Hi" or "fine" is enough to keep you hooked?

- they want you to "pay" for their voice. Here, "paying" is not necessarily financially. It may also be by giving her a lot more attention or simping harder for her.
