PoliticsRe: "Muhammadu Buhari Toying With Jonathan’s Gentility" – Ijaw Youths by Kirigidi(m): 6:51pm On Oct 26, 2017
HungerBAD:
And what can Jonathan do?

Herein lies the problem with Nigeria and that is tribalism, and this is bad.

I have repeatedly said it that the problem of Nigeria is not corruption, religion, bad governance or such. The number one problem is tribal and ethnic affiliation.

Everything in Nigeria is looked at from a tribal view. Nigeria has had plenty of Presidents, some corrupt and some not too corrupt.

But when Goodluck Jonathan came into the picture, even the Webster dictionary was forced to re-define the term " Corruption"

That the Government of President Buhari did not file corruption cases against Jonathan, his wife, PDP as a political party, thousands of Jonathan's hangers on and enablers is perplexing to me.

That a toothless bulldog like the IYC is suddenly talking and supporting Goodluck Jonathan , when even the corrupt Jonathan did not develop any part of Bayelsa as the Deputy Governor,Governnor,Vice-president and President is enough to show that the leadership of the IYC is a disgrace, and they should be overhauled.

I have started my gradual withdrawal of support for President Buhari,And the APC as a political party, for the simple reason that the fight against corruption that made me support them, is now a joke.

Goodluck Jonathan And his wife, just like the corrupt people inside APC now should be arrested and tried for crimes against Nigeria.

And the Government should not forget to pick up Obasanjo and Atiku along the way too. They got Nigeria into this mess collectively.
You should first call for the arrest of IBB who misruled and stole during his regime but refused to appear before Oputa Panel.

I don't know if its exposure that Nigerians don't have (no offence) or we just like deceiving ourselves but the way we throw the word "manufacture" loosely is just worrying.I am not looking down at what they are doing and trying to achieve but lets be honest with ourselves that's the only way we can move forward and develop.

All this companies in Nigeria into auto business, all do "ASSEMBLY". The parts are already produced and manufactured in other countries and they are imported into Nigeria for "ASSEMBLY", it's not a bad thing, man must start from somewhere but say it as it is.
Tell them ooo! But tribalism will not allow some people to accept the truth even when it obviously stares at them. Rather they will see your fact as an attack on their tribesmen.

PoliticsRe: Urhobo-pandef Wants New Delta State by Kirigidi(m):
fratermathy:
I have always advocated for an Urhobo State, no more, no less. The idea of sharing states with other ethnicities is not productive in a nation like Nigeria where ethnocentrism reigns supreme.

Our leaders need to see things from a better perspective. There's no point sharing a state with Itsekiris (who don't mean us well as this thread even shows), Ijaws (who already have their own state) and I daresay Isoko (whose political machinations do not align with ours to a large extent).
The present so called Urhobo leaders seem to lack foresight. They haven't still learn from the past when they misused opportunities they had to improve the political fortunes of Urhobo. And yet again they are demanding for a New Delta State instead of them fighting for a homogeneous Urhobo State. Urhobo leaders should engage in self-examination and review this kind of outdated politics they've been playing over the years. Urhobo should have by now have their own homogeneous state.

The best way to end all these calls for secession and state creation is to restructure the country and make every state autonomous.
That was a shameful agitation, because at the end of the day Delta North which is minority in present Delta State will then emerged as a full state [proposed Anioma] with 3 senators, whereas Urhobo who are the majority in present Delta State will end up still sharing a state [proposed New Delta] with other tribes and will have just one or two senators. Is that progress? Urhobo alone with its abundant human and natural resources is large enough and even overdue to have a state of her own. Urhobo landmass [approx. 5000 sq.km] alone is bigger than that of present Lagos State [3345 sq.km] and Anambra State [4844 sq. km]. Urhobo need to wake up and take their rightful place in Nigeria [progress]!

The Fulanis may be too hot for the Hausas but not for us the people of the Niger-Delta. We did not know the Hausa/Fulanis neither had we fought any war with them until the British brought us together in one country. We had never been defeated in battles. So don't jump into conclusion. Let me tell you, the reason why many southerners refrain themselves from violence and revenge is because of their Christian Faith which is against violence, and not that they are afraid. If we should put aside religion and come out to match violence with violence, I tell you the Fulanis won't be able to withstand it. For your information I'm not Igbo and I'm not clamouring for Biafra. But I'm just trying to correct that wrong impression that Hausa/Fulani have monopoly of violence or they are stronger than other Nigerians! They are not.

Referendum is NOT war you dirty corrupt old useless man, it is a legitimate right as enshrined in the UN charter of 2007, The zoo government shouldn't have signed it if it were against their constitution. We know you say this not because you love your fellow ijaw but because of your pocket. A 90 year old shameless man still grubbing money like a 10 year old kid, tufiakwa. Rubbish. You guys should understand my anger, I know very well from NK's comments that if real actions to reform Nigeria begins, he and IPOB will want to be part of that change, to proffere solutions and new ideas to reform or restructure the country, but as for now, you cannot expect them to drop the agitation for Biafra when there is absolutely NOTHING going on. But these old hags like Edwin Clark is too short sighted to understand, all he knows is money, money and more money, shamelessly gallivating here and there for free money and small girls.
Don't get me wrong, I respect my elders, but if an idol misbehaves, the people will show to it the wood from which it was carved. Also, if an elder misbehaves, people will talk to him with baskets covering their heads.
Call for referendum without war [with reference to secession] can work in the Western World, but not so easily in Africa. There is no where in Africa where there have been successful secession without bitter wars. That is why I laugh when I see IPOB with this their present approach thinking that one day Nigeria will grant them Biafra. In that case IPOB may have to wait for hundreds of years because Nigeria is not ready to grant them Biafra. IPOB is likely wasting their time and efforts with their present approach. Nigeria is not Europe and there is no referendum in our constitution. The only likely way they can achieve Biafra is through use of force, or if they can successfully defeat Nigeria in armed conflicts.

The question is where are they from now? Have you read about Obatala, father of the Igbo nation before?

Are they from Ile Ife?

According to history Obatala was the title of the pre-existing kings of the Igbo nation in Ile Ife. These were the Igbos whose king (Obatala Oreluere), Queen Moremi married. They are today’s Anioma/Lucumi people, and an ancient civilization in their own right.

The Anioma roots go way back to the Nri area of Igboland, from where they started an ilu to the Ife area (today’s Yorubaland).

After the Moremi affair, the headquarters of the Anioma/Lukumi nation became the Onitsha and Iseleukwu kingdoms.

Other notable Anioma kingdoms include, but are not limited to:
•Olukwumi- named after the old Lukumi/ Ife/ Uhe kingdom/empire of the Igbos.

•Oguta (Imo State)-which retained the ancient Obatala title of ‘ Obi Osere Igbo’ . The Osere is in charge of the Owu festival of Oguta.

•Ogbaland, which preserves the Obatala’s Ife title of Oba Igbo, through their king’s Oba title.

•Onitsha Ugbo, which is a nostalgic combination of the words ‘Orisha’ and ‘Ugbo’.

Ezechima, who was the last Igbo titular prince in Benin as well as Crown Prince of the Igbos of Ife, retained some Benin titles as a result of a peace treaty with Ogiso Owodo, the last Ogiso of Benin.

THE ACTUAL PLACE LEGENDARY ERI CAME FROM. I have voiced it out several times to Igbo people that the origin of their ancestral ERI is not Israel, rather it lies in the ancient AKA KINGDOM of the OGISO DYNASTY. Eri originated from the ancient Aka Kingdom during the reigns of the Ogisos. AKA was an ancient kingdom ruled by kings known as OGISO with capital in ancient UDO. I have facts to prove that ERI originated from AKA KINGDOM! First, Eri was a legendary high priest during the OGISO era and featured in EDOID folklore and stories. Eri was so popular in Udo that the inhabitants of ancient Aka Kingdom regarded him as an entity with supernatural powers. ERI was even deified, and up til date EDOID tribes such as Bini, Ishan, Etsako, Urhobo-Isoko, Owan, etc still name children after him: e.g. Erido, Ehigie, Erimowo, Erinyoja, Ehime, etc. NOTE that Bini and Ishan pronounce ERI as EHI, while Urhobo and Isoko pronounce ERI as ERI. HOW ERI GOT TO IGBOLAND. Following the collapse of the OGISO DYNASTY in about 900AD, there was widespread chaos, crises and insecurity throughout the kingdom and these prompted the inhabitants of Udo and environs to flee in different directions or migrated elsewhere in search of peace and comfort. Among the people that possibly left UDO was "ERI". ERI and his group first migrated northeast-ward, and reached Igalaland after crossing the River Niger. ERI later moved southward with his party into Igboland where he settled permanently. In remembrance of his ancient homeland of AKA KINGDOM, ERI named his first settlement in Igboland as "ERI-AKA" which he established in the Anambra River valley in Aguleri. ERI married two women who bore him children who together with their descendants in the course of history founded the various Umueri communities. Just as ERI named his first settlement [ERI-AKA] after his origin AKA, so also his son AGULU named his first settlement [AGULU-ERI] after his father/origin ERI. Secondly, ERI upon crossing the great river Anambra and been an EDOID man named the river "Ameobala" [in Edoid languages: ame=water, obala=blood/reddish] meaning "reddish waters" due to the reddish/yellowish collour of the Anambra river. The Edoid name "Ameobala" was later corrupted to "Omabala". Do you know that the confluence of Omambala and Ezu rivers was named "Agbanabo" by ERI, which in EDOID languages means "joined branches" or "meeting point". Does "Agbanabo" has a meaning relating to river confluence in Igbo language? Thirdly, as customary of AKA ancient culture, when a deified figure in the rank of ERI died a sacred tree called "Oghriki" in Edoid languages was usually planted to mark the grave. Coincidentally, ERI's grave was marked by the same sacred Oghriki tree at ERI-AKA. And surprisingly, the same Edoid name "Oghriki" was retained but only slightly corrupted as "Ogilisi" by Igbo speakers who found it difficult to pronounce the Edoid word Oghriki. Fourthly, the earliest form of organised society/ leadership set up by ERI's descendants was known as "IME-IDUU KINGDOM" which in EDOID languages can be interpreted to mean "Descendants of Iduu Kingdom" [Ime=descendants/ family, Iduu=alternative name for UDO]. NOTE that "IDUU" is another name [alternative name] for ancient Udo town the capital of AKA KINGDOM during the OGISO DYNASTY. According to Onwuejeogwu [1981], history has it that Aguleri was given a royal sceptre [staff] by his father Eri to become the king and spiritual ruler of "Ime Iduu" Kingdom. If I may ask, why the choice of the name "IDUU" by ERI? Is it just by mere coincidence that ERI named his kingdom after "Udo" the ancient capital of Aka Kingdom? Fifthly, oral Nri traditions described ERI as a "Sky Being" which is very similar to traditions of origin commonly held during the OGISOS era in UDO. In fact, the title "OGISO" means "King of the Sky", and EDOID traditions widely believed that the Ogisos "descended from the Sky". In addition, the period presented as the time of ERI's migration to Igboland sharply coincided with the period of the collapse of the OGISO DYNASTY when people moved from ancient UDO in different directions to settle elsewhere, and Eri is possibly one of the prominent figures who left to establish themselves in other places. To further buttress my argument that ERI originated from ancient AKA KINGDOM, there exist several places and geographical features still bearing EDOID names in the territories settled by Eri's descendants. Such Edoid names include "Udo", "Ogodo" stream and hill, "Odanduli" stream, etc. Even some members of Eri's entourage and descendants bore Edoid names such as "Iguedo", "Iru", "Dabawor", etc. There is also a place called "Oraeri" in Anambra State which in Edoid languages means "Eri's shrine or temple". It may interest you to know that the Benin Kingdom is just a successor kingdom to the ancient AKA Kingdom. In other words, AKA KINGDOM existed before BENIN KINGDOM. AKA KINGDOM was ruled by the OGISO DYNASTY with capital at UDO. It was only after the fall of AKA KINGDOM that a new kingdom emerged under a new name [BENIN KINGDOM], new dynasty [OBA DYNASTY] and also, a new capital [IGODOMIGODO/ BENIN].No one knows for sure when the first Ogisos started ruling or when the Aka Kingdom was founded. But what was known is that the kingdom existed for several centuries until its final collapse in about 900AD. AKA kingdom attracted people of diverse origins to settle within its territories because of peace and protection offered by the OGISOS, and also because it was the only notable organised kingdom in the whole of that region as at that time. It may also be of interest for you to know that the OGISO Kings of ancient AKA KINGDOM crowned personalities whom they sent to various lands to establish their own kingdoms. For example the kingship in Onitsha Kingdom and Agbor Kingdom were founded during the Ogiso Dynasty, and not during the subsequent Oba Dynasty [Benin Kingdom] as erroneously claimed by some writers. That is why Onitsha is proudly referred to as Onitsha "Ado na Idu", in firm remembrance of ancient "UDO" town [also known as Idu] the seat of power of the OGISOS of AKA KINGDOM. Ndi Igbo need to visit their history in order to discover/ unravel their true origin.

CultureRe: The History Of Ikwerre People by Kirigidi(m): 8:17pm On Aug 03, 2017
chrisxxx:
THE HISTORY OF IKWERRE PEOPLE.

Majority of the Ikwerre settlements have their roots traceable from the old Benin Empire.” Iwhnurọhna people descended from the ancient Bini Kingdom. The name of the grand ancestor is Akalaka. Their relations in Rivers State are Ekpeye and Ogba people. The reigning Oba of Benin when Akalaka, the ancestor of Ihruọha (later called Iwhnurọhna) fled was Oba Ewuare (Ogwaro). Akalaka, a member of the Benin royal family, fled in the 13th century on allegation of plotting assassination of the Oba. He died in 1462. Iwhnurọhna his third son settled east of the Sombrero River by 1538 AD, as detailed below.
Chief N.M.T. Solomon (2004), native of Ikodu Ubie in Ekpeyeland, in his narrative draws heavily from the now authenticated written historical records delivered by various informed sources including “Eketu (Weber) of
Ubeta, assumed to have lived for over two hundred (200) years as the oldest man in all Ekpeye, Ogba and Iwhnurọhna (or Ikwerre), at that time (and) was asked to narrate the history and customs of Ekpeye people” as unfolded in his lifetime. Here is what he said, which has been validated by the accounts of the current generation through responses to our questionnaires and direct interviews thereby increasing our level of confidence on the data: Ekpeye, born in Benin, was the first of the three sons of Akalaka. While in Ndoni, he married a second wife to gain the love and favour of the people. The new wife gave birth to a son, which he named Ogba. Akalaka was still in Ndoni when his first wife, the mother of Ekpeye, gave birth to his third son called Ihruoha (Ikwerre). Similar historical fact by J.N. Olise (1971) averred that: “Akalaka, a member of the Benin royal family, fled with his wife from Benin to Ndoni, a community located close to the
River Niger, to save the life of his new born baby (Ekpeye)… While at Ndoni, Akalaka took a second wife. … Akalaka had two sons, Ekpeye – born to him by his Benin wife, and Ogba – born to him by his Ndoni wife. According to F.E. Otuwarikpo (1994): "After the death of Akalaka in 1462 AD, his two sons, Ekpeye and Ogba had conflict, which compelled Ogba, the younger son, to move northwards where he founded Ohiakwo (Obigwe) and settled with his family. Ekpeye who remained at Ula-Ubie had seven sons – Ubie, Akoh, Upata, Igbuduya, Ekpe, Awala and Asa. The last three sons – Ekpe, Awala and Asa crossed to the other side of Sombreiro River (present day Ikwerreland and
settled there since 1538 AD.” He added that: “Ekpe migrated to present day Rumuekpe and spread through Elele (Alimini), Ndele, Wezina (ogbakiri) Rumuji and part of Ibaa. Awala migrated to present day Isiokpo …” Amadi-Nna (1993) also said Akalaka migrated with his half brother called Ochichi from the area of Benin Empire.
Ochichi sons were Ele (Omerele, now Elele), Elu (Elumuoha, now Omerelu), Egbe (Egbeda) and Mini (Alimini, Isiokpo). The crucial point here, which is of great importance in tracing the joint origin of the ancestors of the Old Ahoada Division (in the Governor Diete-Spiff administration), is the mention of the number of children that AkaIaka had namely: Ekpeye, Ogba and Ihru ọ ha (Ikwerre). It is noteworthy that the pedigree and name of Ikwerre people, Iwhnurọhna, obviously took its root from this original name – Ihruọha. Chief Solomon therefore establishes a very vital historical link, which has been missing in literature on Ikwerre origin that would assume more significance in the discourses of Ikwerre genealogy in the future – the fact that Akalaka was the direct father of Ihru ọha (Ikwerre). Iwhnurọhna, in Ikwerre parlance, means the face of the community (town, city or village). Nigerian colonial history records that the name "Ikwerre"
was given by the colonial administration when they wanted to acquire the Rebisi waterfront to build the wharf. Using an Ibo interpreter to talk to the illiterate Rebisi (Port Harcourt) chiefs, they asked them: Would you permit us to use the waterfront to build the wharf for ships to berth? And they answered: AKWERULEM , meaning - "We have agreed."
What the white-man was hearing was "Ikwerre," so he recorded it in the official gazette that the IKWERRE PEOPLE have agreed for the colonial administration to build the Wharf. And since it was the official record of government,
the name Ikwerre became the name of the Iwhnurohna people in all official documentations till date. Similar cases of Anglicization of native names in the Niger Delta region by the colonial administration are Benin for Bini, Okrika for Wakrike, Degema for Udekema, Abonnema for Obonoma, Brass for Gbara sni, Bonny for Ibani, Pepple for Perekule, Ahoada for Ehuda, etc. Even so, “… there were dissenting voices, … who believed
that Ikwerre origins lay outside Igbo land, … in the Benin Kingdom of old. It is, therefore, obvious that the interminable debate about Ikwerre origins and migrations including the repudiation of the Igbo tradition is not a phenomenon of the post-civil war period. The controversy, as it were, is not necessarily the product of the present political realities wherein groups which hitherto were seen to have cultural affinities now find themselves in different states or administrative systems.” -- K.O. Amadi (1993).
The Ogbakor Ikwerre Convention, a cultural organization of Ikwerre people, in a paper presented to the Human Rights Violation Commission headed by Rtd. Justice Chukwudifu Oputa on 10 October 2001, said: “Ikwerre ethnic nationality is not and has never been a sub-group of any other tribe in Nigeria including Ndi-Igbo. There is no doubt that the advent of the British and later regionalization put Ndi-Igbo at the helm of affairs in then Eastern Nigeria. This brought Ndi-Igbo into Ikwerre land. In course of time, the Igbo took advantage of their position in the then Eastern Regional Government to (forcefully and illegally) grab land in Ikwerre and occupy political positions such as the mayor of Port Harcourt. In the process, Ikwerre along with other minority groups were marginalized and driven to the background.”
Professor Godwin Tasie noted that in 1913 the Rt Rev Herbert Tugwell, the Anglican Bishop on the Niger, undertook an experimentation tour of Ikwerre towns and villages assumed to be Ibo-speaking to test the Union Ibo Bible Nso being introduced in Iboland. "Tugwell discovered
from the tests he carried out that although the Ikwerre were often regarded as Ibo… the Union Ibo Bible translation, surprisingly, was not easily understood by the Ikwerre." This is obviously why Igbo vernacular was compulsorily introduced and taught in all schools in
Ikwerreland before the Nigerian Civil War to the assimilation (i.e. destruction) of the Ikwere language.
This also obviously led to the Rumuomasi Declaration in 1965. " … in their meeting at Rumuomasi in 1965 the Ikwerre had, under the umbrella of a highly promising new
body that was to get the Ikwerre together as a people of new and clearer vision, they had declared themselves as a people of the distinct identity of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality
- not Ibo, not Ijo, not anything else but Ikwerre, Iwhnurọhna. This was the historic Rumuomasi Declaration of 1965 (G.O.M. Tasie, 2000). The full implication is that Ikwerre people began to assert themselves forcefully as an ethnic nationality of their own and not Ibos or Ijos, and efforts were made to revert to the original Ikwerre names for families, villages, communities and landmarks. For instance, there was the change from Umuola to Rumuola ,Umuoro to Rumuoro , Umukrushi to Rumuokwurusi , just to name a few.
The name "Iwhuruohna" if it should be interpreted in Edoid languages means "talented/ skilled people". In Urhobo-Isoko language for instance, the term "skilled men/ people" can be written as "Iwhoiruohna". There is strong likelihood that Ikwerre [/b]people actually migrated from [b]Benin land because there are evidences to prove it. Among these evidences is the claim by Evwreni and Ewhe clans of Urhobo-Isoko that they migrated from Elele in Rivers State as a result of some issues with their Etche kinsmen.

IpobExposed:
Kanu to visit the historic ‘Ohianwehi forest’ revered as ‘forest of life’ by Igbo tradition.
“This forest is believed to be the place the first burnt offering was offered by the Jewish Igbo ancestors when they migrated from Israel more than 2,000 years ago.”

Any Igbo in the house? Please what's the meaning of "Ohianwehi" in Igbo language? I'm asking because it sounds like an Edoid word. In Edoid language, forest of life can be written as "Omianwehi" [Umianhwa-ehi] or "Omianweri" [Umianhwa-eri]. In Edoid language like Urhobo-Isoko, "Umianhwa" or "Omianhwa" means "bushes" especially one at the extreme end of a community/ village in which any quarter established around there is also called by same name. On the other hand, "Eri" or "Ehi" means "spirit" or "life". Just want to learn more. No insult.

[s]you cannot disgrace your family as they are the exemplary manifestation of irrelevancy.

Aren't you an urhobo? The people every parent in Warri warn their children not to associate with ?

Damn even in my days in Dom domingos collage and Nana primary school you people were avoided like leprosy.

Demented tribe who are as despicable as open sewage.

Petty stealing, deve-collection, prostitution, cheap marriages, fatherless children, polygamy, idle-worshiping, uneducated youths and tribalism are the hallmark of urhobos!

Swear on the life of your unborn seed your father is married to only your mother. Swear with your first child that your direct family doesn't have more than one male with multiple wives and children from outside!

After I have whipped you savagely and your parental disses aren't as stinging as mine, you are trying to a t descent. Son of a dirty dick-hunter!

[s]Warri an oil city like portharcourt cannot even be compared developmentally to Benin, Kaduna, Onitsha, Enugu, Calabar all because a tribe called urhobo who are a parish to herself and her neighbours just won't develop.

Few itsekiri quarters in Warri are ok structurally, even Oguwangwe. All the dingy shacks and squalid quarters in Warri belong to the starch and owo eaters.

A useless tribe who still worship igbe collectively in 2017. Go to uruwhonru, eku, Enehren, jakpa, alll your idles and shrine are still there in full display.

Demon-possessed blood suckers. I wonder the idiot past governors doing dibble lanes in Okere road, Okumagba layout, estate area when all the buildings there belonging to urhobos are still carrying sinz roofing of 1960, pre-civil war.

Urhobos are the cancer in the body of delta state. And your family, like every other urhobo family are more malignant than mosquitoes to the health of delta people.

Uncultured vagabonds who eat starch meant for clothes as stable food.

Idiots!

You're a waste of blood and tissue. And the life of one street dog has more societal value than the life of all urhobo vagabonds, half of whom came from broken , polygamous homes.

Child of cheap fúck.
