Oyinbo with their Yahoo Yahoo sense. Make their students pay school fee and then later shut the campus when the going get tough... Na only Nigerians FBI know... No one is a saint!
Muleriders:
Same here. SAU Students will be back to campus for fall 2020 from August 11.

We have also been briefed on the compulsory nose cover policy. "No face mask/shield, no entry into lecture halls"

The fate of international students coming in now lies with the sooner opening of embassies.

Make una stay there. Many immigrantion laws that has been adjusted under gee. When Trump finally complete his 8 years in white house, America immigration would never remain as it use to be before he became the president.
TWoods:
Not true. Trump cannot ban the H1B visa simply because it is a law, passed by congress [Immigration and Nationality Act, section 101(a)(15)(H)]. Only Congress can reverse a law, a president can only tinker around it by issuing executive orders or via Agency regulations (these do not change the law but seek to interpret it as congress intended).

Secondly, it is untrue that America absolutely needs the H1B visa. The H1B visa as we know it came to being in 1990. Companies like Apple, Microsoft, Oracle, HP were already in existence. America had already invented the internet, made it to the moon and was the world's most powerful economy. The idea that America needs the H1B is completely overblown and does not concur with reality.
CareerRe: My Dilemma As Contract Staff In A Bank by klawaaa: 6:06pm On Jun 24, 2020
My advice for you is to do all within your reach to plan leave that job for better things in life. You can even go back to school and earn more degree. If you are a graduate, there are lots of opportunities for scholarships for graduate programs abroad. Please save your youthful age and go for something more rewarding. Time in life is the most valuable asset which when missused can never be regained!

A degree as D-pharm would definitely open a great lots of opportunities for you in the state. Many in social sciences and other professions do it. So your best best is to look into such as soon as possible. If you are in the state already you should know how things go as per hustling. Try look for menial jobs such as a career giver and the likes. You can as well search for location that the cost of schooling is not too high. Please don't leave school for hustling because if you wanna make it legit in the western world, it is your certificate that can really open such doors.

It still amazes me how the lady would marry such an old man. Its unnatural for a young lady to fall in love with an old man with wives already

I guess its because the man is rich, well, she has inspired me to hustle till I become a billionaire.
Just to show stupid girls that you don't need to marry someone because of money, because you can also make such money yourself.

I belong to the billionaire squad, this would be my speech when asked how I became a billionaire.

So annoying that girls would do that shit because of money

To the ladies...
1. You don't need to wish marrying a president, you can also be a president
2. You don't need wishing to date a celebrity like davido, you can become richer and more popular
3. You don't need to wish dating Otedola, you can be richer
4. You don't need wishing to marry a doc, you can be better
Infact, its ridiculing wishing to be with someone and worshiping them because of money when nature has given everyone the chance to be one.

Parents...
Teach your children financial literacy
Teach your sisters financial independence

Let us lift each other up from poverty and poverty mindset, 70% of Nigerians are not just poor but live with a poverty mindset.

You don't need to talk as if you know it all. I have gotten some scholarships home and abroad with less effort i may say but what i notice is that people stopped believing in their God's given potentials. I am not a good article writer but i do win scholarships even with those that require essay writing. What I do is just to associate myself with liked-minded dude and all the rest is easy. The fact that you never gotten several of those scholarships does not really mean that they are not accessible! Try to learn and unlearn alot in life. Many came to the same America on a full ride scholarship and have gotten better life better than that all this B1/B2 Visa and Akata things to get PAPERS. They complete their programs on Scholarship and the same green card many of the people in the state do all sort of things to get were granted to them by company with good wages package and many of those people in this category are not as smart as one can think but what makes the difference is the amount/type of information at their disposal. You don't need to talk as if you know it all!
pDudd:
That dude said it was very easy to get scholarships and that scholarships were abundant everywhere. I called him a clown because that isn't true. Yes, there are plenty of scholarships but most of these scholarships have several/numerous strings attached to them. Several of those attached strings are usually not attainable by the average Joe on the streets. When I was in school, I applied for several scholarships but I only got 1 and that was because I was top in my class.

He didn't tell the full story on how he got those scholarships. He makes it sound so easy. Well, if it was so easy, I won't have any student loans to repay back.

Daz all

I am someone who have been a great opportunist of scholarship and I really understand your perspective. Please you can open a new thread on that... definitely it gonna be a great resource for some people. NEVER STOP SPEAKING FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN BECAUSE EVERYONE HAVE THERE OWN INSIGHTS!

Marriage is never an accomplishment!
HeavenlyCherub:
Honestly I think you have good points in your paragraphs. I agree that as women we shouldn’t single out every man who isn’t walking in their purpose at that given time. However I would never advise anyone to settle.

Some of the financially challenged/student men who come to the US, a very large percentage have taken advantage of good women all in the name of love. I can only use myself as an example. I have dated guys who weren’t stable financially so I can only try help my fellow sisters.

Man 1: Yoruba guy - I dated him for 5 years. Great guy however refused to self improve. He did yahoo. I found out about it and tried to make him stop and do legit as I wouldn’t want our foundation built on potential blood money. He refused a legit job and informed me he knew “the life he wanted for himself and 9 to 5 was not it.” This is because he was consumed by lifestyle and driving range rovers and a Porsche’s. I stuck with him for love but I refused to marry him or his proposal as he didn’t believe in taking care of a woman. He was very selfish (during the course of a 5 year relationship this man never gave me any assistance for upkeep - mind you I didn’t need his money as I do very well for myself but every woman wants their man to be able to support and provide in small ways. This shows me you’re stable and can support our family should we hit hard times. He would always ask me why I need money and what I do with the money I earn. $10 to buy a panty he could not even do, but he stayed embellished in Gucci, LV and Prada. He also had a baby on me and begged me to raise the child with him if it was his after dna...I was scared toput myself in that position as a time when I have to depend on him will come and he would not man up as he should so I broke it off. He proposed I said no. . No way I can submit to a man like that?..

Man 2: was an international student, the devil himself in human form, they say respect them, support them and let them reach goals.. this guy I supported financially for months, paved a way for him to get his paperwork.. loved and supported. He was nice at first but when we started dating he started changing. Abusing me for not giving 5k usd and not wanting to marry him for green card... I thank God for protecting me from that one chance. He is the biggest regret and bad mistake I ever made in my life. So disheartening you support someone and they physically, verbally abuse you and blame you for the wrong going on in their life... read my story on my profile from 2 years ago for more context Note: I myself am not perfect and I’m constantly working on self improving and strengthening my bond with Christ. I’m big on giving advice to others so they won’t repeat the same mistakes I have made.

My aunt always told me never to date down. Never settle and I did. All the women waiting...wait for Gods time don’t force or rush things because you want to get married. You will end up with someone who puts baggage on you and breaks you emotionally, physically, financially etc. Let Go and Let God. If it’s his will for your life it will be. Don’t leave worse off then you started.

I also have a friend she married someone coming straight from naija. They lived as man and wife 3 years. He got his green card and went back to Nigeria to marry his real girlfriend.

I truly dislike when men put down women like this post. Marriage is not an accomplishment. It will be nice to find a compatible companion but sister- you are enough as you are. Don’t let anyone rush you. Some are happy but many more want to get out of the marriage you are rushing to. Be wise and Let God lead.

Pray for God to give you discernment. Marriage is life and that’s a long journey. Don’t end up with the wrong person because of societal pressure and advice from OP above. I have said my own

Express entry in 2014! Get your fact correctly before posting things here...
Abuleoshi:
I have read the holier than thou replies and I am not surprised one bit.
People are talking of visa renewal blah blah like you told them you plan to renew your American visa after child birth or you are scared of a Visa denial?
Nairaland saints fail to understand that priorities differ. Your priority was/is birthing in America for a "better future and more opportunities" for you child.
For those talking of visa renewal, someone was denied American Visa severally when he was living in Nigeria. The guy moved to Canada with express entry in 2014. He got his Canadian Citizenship this year, with his Canadian passport, he can travel to same America without a visa. So make una calm down, life does not end with not being able to renew your American visa. As I always say on this thread, there are lots of places to visit for vacation and shopping if America no gree give you visa!
