Yes he would make a good Governor. I see him in the mould of Soludo but with an entertaining streak rather than economics. We need to start voting Godfatherless individuals so that they can perform. Fashola despite the hindrance coming from his Godfather he is trying but he can and should do better. |
Let us remember to be good Christians and Muslims. The bible says he who calls his brother a fool would not be spared the inferno of hell. I am sure some of us coming on sites like this are clergy men or even mullahs in our day jobs, elders in churches and mosque, yet when someone utters something unpleasant against our tribes or town’s man we starting effing off our mouth like a rattle gun. I tell you people decease from such subversive sins, a sin is a sin in the eyes of God. Hiding under the anonymity of the internet would not save you. |
http://nigerianmailonline.com/police-okada-riders-clash-in-lagos Typical Naija City, everything just scatter-scatter, truly it looks Nigeria really Jaga-Jaga!!! ![]() |
http://www.followtheboat.com/2010/02/08/asmara-the-capital-city-in-the-clouds/ Asmara capital city of Eritea poor city, poor country, but looks good, unlike the ubiquitous ‘okada filled’ roads of Nigerian Cities. |
There are some countries poorer than Nigeria, that would not allow okada or even that also despicable thing called 'keke' ply their streets. The only reasons why it is allowed in Nigeria is because the bastaaaards ruling us know they steal 95% of our commonwealth and "man must wack now" if you ban those terrible eyesore na wahala be that for the ruling class. ![]() |
We have done well at National Level Presidential elections, Gubnatorial level, National Assemmbly and State Assemmbly levels. It is time to tackle this ugly spectacle at LG level. It is a disgrace, we should abhor this embarrassing sham if we truely belief in democracy. Pass this Task to Jega, afterall what is Jega doing at the moment. ![]() |
I am glad we are all seeing what some of us deduced long ago. Bless youThe system needs to be re-jigged. This one where states governments are the organiser, umpire and judge and jury is not on, otherwise we are wasting our time. Same thing happens in PDP, ANPP and Labour party states. So don’t blame ACN. |
We would never have a free and fair election in our LG Levels as long as the organiser, the umpire, and the judge & jury of such exercise remains in the hands of the State Government. I can remember Ohakim’s sham LG elections 2 months b4 the Gubernatorial elections, PDP cleared all the LG areas, then came elections proper Rochas won comprehensively, whose is fooling who then? The recently just concluded LG elections in Lagos State are yet another sham. How long would our people continue to bear this miscarriage of justice perpetuated in the name of democracy? ![]() The bottom-line is dollar bills, The LG funds today is more or less a pseudo-state fund, whereby the Governor of the state deducts ¾ of the money thereby passing only a paltry sum which in most cases amounts or equates to the total concurrent expenditure of the LG, obviously most Governors would not forget to give some ‘jara’ or a bit on top for the LG Chairmen and his Counsellors hence why today all 774 LG has being an abysmal failure. Enugu State has recently pencilled N500 million to be spent on their own LG elections exercise, they might as well pour that money down the drain for all we care the results as we all know would be 100% predictable. Any thing short off PDP clearing the roost in that election would be a misnomer and an aberration in our present landscape. ![]() |
I don't blame the french French woman kidnapped from Kenya by Somali gunmen earlier this month has died, say French officials. Diplomats said they were told of Marie Dedieu's death by contacts through whom they had been negotiating her release. The exact date and circumstances of her death are not known, but her poor health and the fact medication had been withheld had led to fears this "tragic outcome was highly likely", they said. Mrs Dedieu, 66, was one of four Westerners recently taken from Kenya. In September, Briton David Tebbutt was killed and his wife Judith abducted from a luxury resort of Kiwayu on the Kenyan coast. Earlier this month, two female Spanish aid workers with the charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) were seized from the Dadaab refugee camp near the Kenya-Somalia border. All three kidnapped women are still missing. Continue reading the main story Analysis Will Ross East Africa correspondent -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sadly this news has not come as a great surprise to people who knew Marie Dedieu in Lamu. She had been spending the European winters there for several years and her friends say she was in very poor health with cancer and a heart condition making daily medicine a necessity. If as the French foreign ministry suggests she was denied access to the life saving medicine, her death was tantamount to murder. If the pursuit of a hefty ransom payment was the motive for the kidnapping then taking somebody in poor health who was also severely disabled seems a strange choice. It is not clear who was holding her. In lawless Somalia, al-Shabab, pirate gangs and bandits are all possible candidates. When money is the goal the groups also co-operate with each other. The Kenyan government is likely to portray Mrs Dedieu's death as another reason to justify the incursion into Somalia to fight al-Shabab. But analysts say there is no concrete proof that al-Shabab was behind the recent kidnappings and the group has denied any involvement in them. Mrs Dedieu, who was a wheelchair-user and had to take regular medication for cancer and heart problems, had lived part-time in Kenya since the 1990s. She was taken from her beachfront home on the small island of Manda in the Lamu archipelago on 1 October by an armed gang. Officials confirmed she had been taken by sea to Somalia and that the kidnappers did not take her wheelchair or medication with them. In a statement, the French foreign ministry expressed its "indignation at the total lack of humanity and the cruelty shown by the kidnappers of our compatriot". It demanded that those responsible be brought to justice. Kenya troops The Kenyan government said Mrs Dedieu died in the captivity of Somalia's militant Islamist group, al-Shabab. |
That man should have being overpowered by his inner caucus and given a lethal dose of a strong tranquiliser to calm him down. That man was definitely living in a cuckoo world. How do one explain that strange military strategy of deliberately’ boxing oneself’ into a corner’ in Sirte. That decision to go to Sirte and fight to the last man is nothing more than a grand delusion in the eyes of a maniac. I would have expected Saif el Islam to have made arrangement for his father to be ‘sectioned’ and carried out of Libya. I thought the boy had a Phd. another “ odenson” or ‘fool’ like father like son? ![]() Gaddafi’s demise is one self infliction the most foolish of men would not think of doing let alone a leader of a whole nation. One can always fight another day no matter the circumstances. I am afraid Gaddafi is one of the last buffoons to be taken out, I don’t pity buffoons, they are who they are, bumbling fools who goes on a 3 hour rhetoric’s of self praise, the world is a better place without these kind of human beings. He was not brave at all, he was senile and has lost his marbles completely. How many of us in our right sense would follow a run away patient from ‘Aro’(Nigerians prime psychiatric hospital) on a senseless misadventure in Sirte without having heads examined. ![]() |
Where is the proof that this man cried. Seeing they say is believing until I see it, it remains a rumour that belongs to Iya Basira's beer parlour? But Ojukwu's cowardice is very well documented for posterity. |
Hearsay essay. Null and void. You think a man who would put pen into paper and voice out his displeasure would rely on hear-say, go and read through the article, even the Governor's 100 days orchestrated achievment is very un-inspiring. Why did he cancel a fly-over billed for Owerri? (Thank God GEJ is sending a bill to the National Assembly where all projects started by a Governor or President must be continued by the predecessor. This one of the greatest drain on our resources in Nigeria. |
is good to get articles like this.it is dangerous when there is no criticism of some kind. The guy is no Ohakim man, according to him he and his group started the Okoracha chorus on the internet which later became a mutation if you read the article well. Okorochas actually copied or plagurized the groups manifestoes as his, it shows how shallow(Okoracha) the guy is, he had better step up or he would be shown the door, obviously with this kind of criticticsim doors to 'Aso Rock' would definately be shut on Rochas face, we don't want another mediocre in 'Aso Rock'. ![]() |
One can vote on self-recognition. Nothing wrong in a national figure voting without his voters card provided his name is on the list of registered voters. I would be suprised if anyone says they don't know or recognise Tinubu. ![]() |
In as much as a few people in the current administration in Imo State would want to make people in the Ohakim's administration particularly, personal non grantees in our such orchestrated efforts will be met with stiff resistance. There are reasons why this is so. Interestingly, supporters of Rochas Okorocha have reportedly grown disenchanted with him because of a perceived lack of performance and betrayal of trust. Similarly, some people who supported Rochas are having regrets simply because Rochas, who they thought to be their messiah, is performing below expectations. In all sectors of the economy, some of governors supporters admit that he is not equal to the task. They are of the view that though Rochas was successful in running Rochas Foundation, he was not prepared to govern or manage a much larger economy like Imo. Also, some believe that they were lied to as a means to garner their support. Others, who are dithering, aroue that they are unsure if Okorocha will be able to perform given more time. While some of these people see 'rescue mission' mantra an unhinged pelt for the governor others seem unfettered in their criticism of Okorocha. One of such persons, who did not shy away from expressing his feelings about the governor is Prof. Herbert Emenike Nwankwo, a Systems Engineer and Planner. Ironically, Prof. Nwankwo wrote profusely on the internet demonizing Ohakim while campaigning for Rochas Okorocha as he heralded the mirage called “rescue mission”. Today, Prof. Nwankwo has turned against Rochas for what he termed as 'betrayal and failure'. Nwankwo said, “Rochas left the people's boat to sink once he became entrusted with the power of life and death. He betrayed the people's trust when he jumped ship in search of personal glory. Nwankwo added, “It was obvious from day one that the Rochas Team lacked direction. Recall how they started their campaign with nothing in the form of agenda but were rescued by the propaganda mounted by the Diaspora Igbo for Good Governance (DIGG-USA) when we came up with a manifesto they copied and posted on the internet.” Still, the glum tone of their voices and looks on their faces testify to their utter disappointment. Reading what former Rochas Okorocha's supporters have been writing to discredit him seems disquieting for someone who has been in office for less than 250 days. It is unbelievable to see how fast the exhilaration has turned into exhaustion and exasperation. Apparently, these individuals rejected Okorocha's assertion that he had done a lot in office. “I will tell you within the first 100 days I have done a lot,” Okorocha emphasized in his recent newspaper interview touting his accomplishments. In his own defence, the governor said, as reported in the Daily Sun, “I am not on training. I already know what I want to do for the state. I have a clear vision, on what I want to do and there is no way Rochas can be classified as an un-performing governor. And I tell you proudly that I will perform.” Prof. Nwankwo concludes that Okorocha does not have the capacity to perform. He now sees Rochas as habitué of overseas, while the state seems to be on fire, Herbert rebutted, “Ladies and gentle men, an emperor without clothes. The Daily Sun attributed the following to Governor Rochas Okorocha: “Within 100 days, we are building a hero square like the Eagle Square. Within 100 days the Oguta Wonder Lake, which became an abracadabra during the last administration, we changed the name to Oguta Lake of Pleasure, that place is receiving the best structure since inception. Within 100 days we have introduced Imo College of Advanced Professional Studies. Within 100 days, Concorde Hotel has been completely. There is no concrete evidence to authenticate Okorocha's claims. The cursory look at the decisions and policies of governor Okorocha's administration reveals a conundrum marinated with incoherent political philosophy. Most often, Nigerian leaders lack ideology and policy directions needed for substantive policy considerations. For instance, what was the policy consideration for dissolving the leadership of 27 Local Government Areas? One can only see a political consideration. The decision to dissolve the LGAs has the political insiders laughing to the bank while the Imo masses seethe in penury. Also, what is the policy consideration for abandoning the flyover project in Owerri? The stoppage of this capital project sent some Imo citizens to the unemployment line with enormous economic consequences. Who can tell Imo the economic and social rationale behind the governor's suspension of the 10,000 jobs created by the immediate past administration? What is the policy consideration for changing Oguta Wonder Lake to Oguta Lake of Pleasure? Irrational policies produce irrational results. This is seemingly the phenomenon in the current administration in Imo. Though some people may take pride in defending Okorocha's policies for some reasons, others are loath to defend him. | People, such as Prof. Herbert Nwankwo, does not conceal his. So far, there seems to be no antidote to the governors problems. As a result, Okorocha's popular support is quickly waning. Ohakim's political stock is rising because of his perceived strong leadership while in office and other untold deeds not yet known to many people. Even in the face of a gigantic mountain of opposition at every turn, Ohakim was compassionate as he steadily and meticulously committed to the interest of the Igbo at heart by ensuring that the Southeast was not left out in federal projects. He worked hard to convince the federal government to include the Southeast its programmes. It is pertinent to note that the initial Nigerian Gas Master Plan bypassed the entire Southeast. But Ohakim intervened and convinced the National Economic Council on the need to include the Southeast in the Master Plan. As a result of his intervention, the Presidency reconstituted a new National Economic Council Committee on Nigerian Gas Master Plan. This committee recommended that the Nigerian Gas Master Plan should also run through Southeast touching Owerri, Onitsha, and other Southeast cities. The Presidency and the National Economic Council approved the committee's recommendation. What would have become of Southeast if Ohakim had not intervened? Again, the initial plan of the Trans Nigerian Railway Line running North-Lagos-South South-Edo-Delta-Akwa Ibom-Cross River-Adamawa and back to North did not touch any Southeastern city. Realizing the economic implications to the zone, Ohakim worked diligently to revise the plan, which now runs through Owerri, Umuahia, Onitsha, as well as incorporating the old Enugu rail line. Ohakim never publicized his activities; he never sought any accolade for what he was doing for the entire Igbo. The fuss about the security vote, which was heralded by the current administration, was really a distraction from Okorocha's lack of focus. Security vote during Ohakim's era was never more than N2 billion. The budget containing this amount of money had already been signed to law. However, it was changed to N6 billion for Okorocha to reduce it to N2.5 billion. This was a clear political deception aimed at not achieving an economic policy outcome. PRESIDENT-IN-WAITINGI hear say GEJ's primary job is to make sure everywhere in ASO ROCK is spanking clean for PRESIDENT-IN-WAITING |
bet you know more states CPC won. Not so?CPC won more than 12 states in the North during Presidenctial elections, not Gubernitorial elections I am sure Kaduna, Adamawa and Kogi States they were robbed. |
lame duck already!! |
Please stop creating silly threads especially after the claims you made for SWITCHING SIDES last minute during the last election.I switched side becos I felt we have to give GEJ a chance, but now that he has proven that the Presidency is out of his depth and his too shy to resign I have no choice but to renew my love with my first CHOICE which is BB. I know ex Soldier Buhari and Fiery Pastor Bakare would be able to stand the heat in the kitchen. |
With due respect, this is an extraordinarily foolish and entirely worthless post.Becos u belong to a similar group who were in d doldrums not until the early 70’s if not for education, Urobhos use to work in my Grand Father’s cocoa farm in Ondo Town as indenture labourers. The middlebelters should feel proud of how far they have gone and that is thanks to education. Hopefully the Hausa/Fulani can borrow a leaf from their brethrens experience. |
In fact the middle belters sef don they open eyes finish, I saw some lady in some bar in London and she told me she was from Markurdi. I said to myself so you people don they travel, surely I don tay for jand oh Naija don change, when I was in Naija na only soldier Agatu people they do but now civilisation has spread all over the middle belt states of Kogi, Benue, Plateau and Southern Kaduna(there is woman from S.Kaduna in my church and she is a businesswoman extraordinary, even S.Kaduna don they travel well well. Those are the wonders of education. Meanwhile Hausa/Fulani are still roaming all over the countryside with cows leaving a life their forefathers lived in the 1920’s in 2011. |
Campaign don start oh, Buhari should just forget that court case against Jo-Boy, let the boy do his time, 2015 is CPC to loose, just look at the way PDP dey harass Tinubu, Tinubu would be a fool to fall into bed with Jo-boy and his fellow drunken sailors. |
Great Redeemer, at least $1 Trillion assets of stolen wealth including IBB’s hilltop mansion(that mansion would be turned into a museum of corruption and the excesses of our past leaders) would be recovered within the first month in Office. What else do are people want after that. |
BB would rule Naija wether we like it or not, as long as CPC hold on to their states and placate Tinubu, Fashola would be in our corner, then like a Tsunami they would clear all the votes. Politics is about compromise. |
Are these the people that will compete with the Chime, Rochas, Amechi, and may perhaps fashola of these world? Those people have a chance, if ACN is going for Shekarau who spent N10 bILLION OF Kano State money as down payments for hotels in and around Kano City. Shekarau is not a credible material. I would urge all the Progressives, Fashola, Chime, Rochas, Duke fall in line behind Buhari and we would have a very strong oppostition. Moreover Rochas should give his state atleast 8 years of progress, the others have all done or are doing their second term. |
A journey of a 1000 miles starts with the first step. Zambia has just chosen a corruptless leader of 70 years, age should not be a factor in Nigeria. Boko Haram I am sure would be History if we have these 2 crusaders in Power. So boys and girls, ladies and Gentlemen, the first step has being taken. |
If we get the BB Campaing rolling now, by 2015 it would be a tsunami, Jonathan would be forced to play his card, he said he would not run in the next election,(I don't believe him) the only way to find out if he is telling the truth is to force his hand early, he would not have any option than to come out. Don't even mention Sambo, I swear that man lost in Kaduna State they just used Goverment Magic over the results in that state. If Buhari can run come 2015, I urge him too, this time there would be no incumbent to run against him and Sambo is a non-starter. Even if he is President for just 3 months(the man looks fitter than some politicians in their early 50's anyway I think he can go on for a long while) those bastard loooters In Power need to cough out every penny that they have stolen and thereafter spend a long, long spell in the gallows. He should also run with corruptless, no nonsense Bakare, that way we can be guranteed some 8 or even 16 years of corruption free nation and nolmacy in the first time of our dimmed history. Bankole has shown us some of the youths are more corrupt than some old idealist, I rather have Metursella(the oldest man in the bible was said to live for 900 years) than some young nimwit. Jonathan just commot for way come 2015, that election no concern you oh!. |

single term is a no brainer and a misnomer politically. Only a dumb nation would implement such a dumb policy! ![]() |
better standard of living for their people). You mean for their families surely not people. |
Where will the money to finance free education come from? Most of the core-Northern states generate very little money. Strangely, at the time I was in school, Unity school students from those areas got very hefty federal govt student and travel allowances to encourage them to go to school. Several states further augmented those allowances with provision allowances and other rubbish; these monies were paid directly to the students, so needless to say, they were always well watered. The allowances mentioned above are aside from the much lower Jamb cutoff marks required by the quota system for people from these areas, yet they remain educationally disadvantaged, so quite clearly the problem lies elsewhere. The levels of illiteracy in the core-North is a cultural issue that cannot be fixed with free educationIf the chap in Gombe can steal 52 billion, I am sure if he lower his threshold a little bit, there would be something substantial left for a free education programme. What of Yuguda getting rid of some of those 900 Special Assistant and Personal Assistant that would free some funds. |
Awolowo did as far back as 1955, 56 years ago, Fayemi proclaimed it when he was sworn in as a Governor, so did Aregbesola, Rochas, Godwin Akpabio and a few others. Why are the Northern Governors running away from this invaluable responsibility and empowerment that would not only raise the wealth levels of each state in the North but can also lead into innovative ideas on how things should be done and how they can be applied effectively. Are these Governors deliberately making their people poor and malnourished for their own selfish interest?, or how else do we explain the last Governor of Gombe State’s action who purportedly spent as much as N1.9 billion on supposedly printing a million Dictionary for the state, so did the wording of the contract says but in fact only 100,000 Dictionary was printed, surely the learned citizens of the state, if they were educated, empowered and enlightened enough would have questioned the rationale behind this fake contract and false publication, if they were clued on they would have been baying for his blood if he was found wanton. No Northern Governor should be voted into power if they cannot guarantee free education up to senior secondary school levels. Sending toddlers to school should not and never be a Federal duty in any Federal Republic. If our Feds take up such a duty it would not only be a daunting task but it would be a new outlay for siphoning money out of the Federation account, the establishment of such an agency would have created another hydrant monster like NNPC that would not achieve anything good at the end of the day. Allowing a wholly central Government to overtly control funding of disadvantage kids in Northern Nigeria would be an administrative disaster and a nightmare that would leave nothing to be desired. The whole exercise would be like pouring water into a basket, men and women who want to be Governors in the North should tie their ambitions and manifestoes to this cardinal point of providing free education up to SSC Levels or no show. ![]() |
