Awolowo lost because Zoning did not begin at 2007 but 1979. OBJ felt it would have being a miscarraiage of Justice to pass the power to a Yoruba MAN after his shot-gun tenure in 1979. .Zoning unfortunately is fully ingrained in OBJ's DNA |

If I am a lover of fur which some really wealthy women are, that white fur coat worn in that shot by Alek would have nailed for me. The contrast of the color of that fur and her skin tone is extraordinary, it really showcased the beauty of that garment. If a white lady or light skinned black woman had worn it, the effect would not have being the same. |
Mr VP you are meant to be redudant that is what VP is about!!!! abi , see me see trouble oh ![]() |
A regime that lies that they have completed a project should not blame contractors handling the project to also lie that they have finiish and need their balance. That is all I can say.! ![]() |
VP is a useless post historically and Precedentedly, even in the USA, they are just a spear tyre. I remember Jonthan's first public engagement, I think it was under 20 or is it 17 world cup final in Abuja in Oct or Nov 09, when I SAW him I said to myself where the hell has this man been. Sambo accepted the job knowing the limitations and chores, basically that job is a non-job except the President wants you to be seen and heard. He should just hold his side and be obedient, otherwise whoever the President endorses from the North would be the next President and nothing the VP can do about it. ![]() If I were the VP, I keep my trap shut. Let Ngozi carry go joor. ![]() |
I think in modelling, the model is not to meant to be seen ideally rather the cloth is the centre of attention. if someone like omo sexy wears a costume people would be looking at her big hips rather than the cloth. Hence why models are extremely thin, the clothes they are modelling just hangs off their bodies. Someone mentioned walking hanger, that person is right, that is what models are 'walking hanger'. |
I think there is a link between Okada and poverty. In the 70's and 80's when the country was doing well despite the deplorable infrastructure there was no 'Okada' all over the place. It became an unsightful and ugly phenomenon in the 90's and 00's. Obviously in the 90's and 00's our people became poorer, due to IBB's FAILED Structural adjustment policies in the 80's and Abacha's pariah regime in the 90's, hence the great migration of skilled hands from Nigeria. There is definately a correlation between poverty and Okada. We are poorer today, hence this shambolic way of transport. ![]() |
When the dredging gets to Baro Niger State 500 odd km from the sea, then I would know they have done well. Until then na wait and see. Baro by rail to Abuja is less than 100 km. It would be phenomenon feat if they can achieve that. |
even though it can be gratifying to the entreprenuer when subsidy is removed, but leaving N1.00 trillion Naira in the hands of Jonathan and his co-drunken sailors is like leaving a " loaded gun in the hands of a toddler" whilst showing the toddler that if he presses the trigger a " loud" baaang would be heard. This govement is a goverment of journey-men, but I would wish they proof me wrong. ![]() |
Look . . . . I'm a pragmatist.Good to be pragmatist, at least we share somthing in common and that is as far it goes thus!! ![]() I try and look towards the positives and speak from experience.I would say you should look towards the failings of Goverment but then I would allow Okada to operate untill such a time "Fashola's Trains start rolling" This rudimentary and unsphisticated form of transport has its benefits. That mode of transport have created more limbless men and women than the war in Afganistan, I don't see any benefits other than a close shave with the grim-ripper. I am sure if every Okada man and woman recount their ordeals and near death exeprince to you, I am sure it would just be too voluminious for you to read through it. Although it pays the bill, many a okada man and woman would quit if they find something better. Riding those bikes without helmet is like going to a war front everyday and praying you would come out un-scathed Speaking from experience - there are many a place/destination/location that you cant get to without Okada because of our bad roads and bad infrastructure. The classic reason the Lagos State Goverment keeps on given us would not be applicable here, I guess(it is a federal road hence why the road was not fixed)all interior roads, inner, inner suburbs roads no matter how remote it is, is within the purvey of Lagos State Goverment. Fashola has no excuse here. Also there are certain cities (e.g Lagos) that are suceptible to traffic jams and gridlock - environments where 'Okada' operate more efficiently that conventional transport. There is what is called 'Gridlocked Management' if applied meaningfully can unravel a lot, there is no excuse for motorcyle taxis. This is a lame excuse. Why is New York City or London not Gridlocked the citizens of these cities are wealthy, they have more cars in those cities than Lagos yet they are not gridlocked. Like I said earlier on, I shall let the Lagos Govermet off the hook until all those trains start rolling otherwise no excuse. The day when we have good roads, and sound town planning is the day Okada can go - until then they are very much desired in Nigeria. That day would never come because the best Governor in Nigeria is failing to provide decent motorable roads in the remote areas and suburbs of lagos. That day is an illusion, it ain't happening soon mate .I own veihicles, can employ drivers but still utilise their services from time to time due to the reasons cited above. You live in a failed city 'transport wise', until those wrongs are corrected your desire to continue jumping behind those death wish bike riders is yours alone and entirely. Okada drivers simply fill a gap between demand and supply - Poverty doesn't come into the equation.Okada fills the gap of failure. Unfortunately the resoluteness of Nigerians at living under any condition no matter how de-tasteful and unplatable is legendary, we are really a nation of idioooots ruled by fools. ![]() |
Very pathetic reasoning. . . The more 'Okada's' a nation has equates to increased poverty.I would not call it pathetic reason, in fact it is not a reason associated with me becos from time memorial I have always been at the forefront and an ardent Supporter of those macrbe men on bikes. It is an observation more or less, obvioulsy if all these other nations that are sound economically don't have them are you telling me their public transport system are up to scartch. I was told by a Ghanian that some people wanted to start something similar in ACCRA, the authorities frowned on it and that ended the romance between the poor in Ghana and their 'Okada' dream. So there must be something fundermentally wrong that most emerging economies in Africa would never want their countries to be associated with this rudimentary, unsohisticated form of transport despite the clear evidence and advantage associated with this trade, it is obvious the poor kind of secure some livlihood whilst plying this trade. My veiw is the whole modality smacks of backwardness, illetracy, disjointed and loopsided development, anarchy and chaos in the system and in Governance in general. There is some pariahness to it, I am particular not proud of all those motor cycyles milling around a traffic light ready to go in a jiffy when the light turns green. I see it as a basic unimaginative latent development one or a nation worth her salt should not be associated with or proud off despite the advantages. |
I noticed some countries in Africa doing well economic wise do not have 'Okada' or Motor Cycle Taxis. Ghana next door to us do no have them, Kenya too, most of those Southern Africa Countries like Botswana, Namibia, and SA and North Afica Countries like Libya, Egypet , Morrocco, Tunisia and Algeria too don't have them. Is their a correlation between this unregulated way of public transport and poverty, why is our goverment closing their eyes to this eye sore and menace in our society, although they provide jobs to the poor and the down and trodden. Could it be because the prevalence affords the down and trodden at least some basics of life, like a 3 square meal one of the fundermentals of life. I must confess, in a 'buka' in Ibadan I have seen an 'okada' man dismount off his bike and come into the ''buka' for a quick bite. I was more than intrested in what he would buy, he asked the madam, just give me the usual, I was wondering to myself what could that be. But within 10 minutes the man was served with 3 wraps if 'eba' and no meat, 'eba' in Ibadan is N10.00 a wrap(in fact Ibadan remains one the cheapest cities in Nigeria) so this gentleman had his lunch spending just N30.00, I said no wonder why people in this country would never fight for a revolution despite the despicable theft associated with their leaders, most down and trodden can afford the minimum basics of life. A Hungry nation would take up arms and derobe their leaders. Like Umaru Dikko once quoted, " Nigerians are not yet Hungry, I have never seen Nigerians scavenging for food in rubbish dumps". Now I can see clearly why any call for a revolution and there have been numerous clarion call for a revolution 'is dead on arrival'. ![]() But back to Topic b4 I was destratcted is there a correlation between levels of Poverty in a nation and 'Okada' Riders, just wondering!!! ![]() |
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ e be like say 'okada' man would be making $1.00 per passanger after subsidy has being removed, so in a day if they carried 100 passengers that is $100 dollars a day!!!!(100X200 being the new exchange rate come Jan 2012 =N20,000.00 a day) ![]() |
Knowall. After they have collected 99p from every £1.00 you spend on the pumps. Na wetin you go use go NHS Hospital, if na your car you are given it back to the state. If public transport the clutches of the treasury is well enmeshed within the pricing structure of a ticket, so no way, no way u would give the system back something. A friend once told me if you put £100.000 in your suit case and try to bring it in, the custom men would not ask you any question, because that money would be spent in their economy so they turn a blind eye, but you try taking that money out, na that day you go know say oyinbo man eye tear for money!. ![]() |
WHAT Stops a President from supervising a project they believe in. For example what is wrong in how some state Governors visit road projects or other projects in their domain first hand by going to the site to inspect and ascertain what has being done. What stops the President from following suit, following his dreams, policies, and directives to its logical conclusion which site visitation affords him, albeit imporomptu it would give the head-man a clearer picture of what's gwan. Rather than sit his fat arse in Aso Rock expecting some low special adviser to furnish him with a lotta bullshiit. If I was President I shall go on a site visits. |
wrong war, the 3000 African soldiers bogged down and surrounded by Al-Shabab Fighters needs a super power to help them push those militias out of Somalia that is the right war and the right fight. |
For every 10pence petrol or diesel you buy in the UK, the Treasury gets 9 pence in tax. Taxation is the holy grail of national revenue, Lagos by harmonising her Tax potentials have seen their revenue surge upwards. Subssidy is a communist and socialist policy. |
When the established upper class start becoming uncomfortable bemoaning against the new nouveau riche, probably it is time to listen or perhaps sit on the fence and watch old money fight new money. First it was Rotimi William’s First Son-Ladi, he wants all looters killed, death Penalty without any remission, now it is Gabriel Onosode(if I am not mistaken, I think he was once a minister for IBB and a top dog of one of those old generation Banks) he cannot fathom or care to know where all these riff-raff and sons of a ‘nobody’ are coming from, but they seem to be the new stakeholders in the Nigerian enterprise, could it be that these old moneyed men are envious of this new classless brigands who seem to be running everything from oil and gas to the banks to telecoms. ![]() |
please, what has scarcity got to do with subsidy? I could not find their relationship. If you have a commodity that sells for N10.00 in Nigeria, but when you take it across the border to Chad, Niger, Benin and Cameroon they would buy it from you for N50.00, who are you likely to sell your product to. Sikena, finito ![]() |
You don’t have to be ingenious to know that the removal of subsidy is Good and it sets a level playing field for all countries? It is either we are in ECOWAS or not? If we have decided to remain in ECOWAS then, it makes sense to do away with subsidy otherwise, what sense does it make if a man fills a trailer laden with our Petrol for N69.00 only for him to pick and choose any of the surrounding border country to sell his cheap oil at a super-duper killer price in Niger, Chad, Benin and Cameroon. Sometimes the product is sold for treble if not four or five times the price they bought it for. Has Nigerians really sat down at least for once and asked a simple pertinent question, “ why do we have fuel scarcity regularly and most of our neighbours never seem to have” I think the removal of this subsidy is long overdue. |
What is incredible about a Senator who our country has decided to pay $1 million dollars a year buying a chick a $60,000.00 car. I beg Mr Poster you need to have your head examined. If na you nko. ![]() |
my younger brother works with amnesty he has abt 100milla in his acct he is just 27@wereperi "opari" - e don finish now, need I say more, 27 year old with 100 million and that is a small boy how much more the big fries. |
Read the letter from a fellow Niger Delatan Like yourself, no worry na una time now ![]() lol. Which Abuja? The one i live in?> Dear Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi: We write to voice our displeasure with the recent award of contracts by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Rivers State. |
I was told by a friend our friends from the creeks are the new nouveau riche. If you see a Bentley, Porsche , Ferrari or a Rolls Royce on the streets of Abuja chances are they belong to one of those boys working for the Ministry of Niger Delta or NDDC. Billionaires amongst this new rich boys is two a penny, obviously with that trend established it is no wonder all roads in the federation has fallen apart. |
If that be the case, then my Uncle Justin only misappropriated and mismanaged the state funds entrusted to him, but on a more serious note, this is the third day running that he has had no access to poon-tang, which is a violation of his fundamental human right to bone willing wenches. There is nothing on the ground to suggest OBJ has committed grand larceny, having said that Mr OGD, is like a man that won the lottery, from a Rolls Royce Parked in his London home, to the Emperor Bokassa type majestic building in Sagamu, not forgetting the Gateway Hotels that where concessionised to friends and close associates in the name of Private Public Partnership. We should forgive him for those wives he kept bleeping on the side, his exploits were well known and legendary, so was the associated anguish the husbands went through when he was the head's man in that state, but what happened to the shares he inherited that belong to the state and what of his insatiable land grab, which he kept plodding in a haste as if he was a man on a mission to proof something, obviously that something I can only guess is in his convoluted sick mind, that man needs to be locked up in a mental hospital and the key thrown away. |
I find Nigerian Pidgin English very interesting when spoken and listened to, but reading it is like reading Greek, hence the essence of standardisation. I think it would do us all a lot of good if we can stick to standard English spelling when typing in 'Pidgin' . It makes reading pidgin stories, notes, comments and any rejoinders more understandable and easy on the eye. That should be one standard we should imbibe in and cultivate if we want others to read our stores otherwise we might as well be talking to the hand or a brick-wall. What do you guys think? ![]() Meanwhile look at this example below For example I would prefer “Where you they go”? Instead of “ Where u dey go” – Which means Where are you going in standard English. |
this one na rumour, like that korea denial, I suppose. ![]() |
