Impossible!

On that performance plus the goal, man is not even third-choice.
Haha naso eagles get striker reach.

I can bet it with you with continue good performance in bundesliga Awoniyi will get his call.

I think Onuachu is painting Belgium red but failed to do the same with eagles

My man Osimehn assistant is open for grab and don't rule Awoniyi out or any performing striker.

Common man this is bundesliga, scoring four goals so far is a good development for the young man.

For sure I will also rather pick 10 epl 12 bundesliga 15 French league over a 20 goal Belgium scorer ,I will even pick a 7 Laliga goal scorer

But please where are the goal scorer in these league you mentioned ? We no even get 5 goal scorer from these leagues self

You don’t neee to rate Belgium league as the league you even mentioned are ahead of them

The only player I will gladly pick ahead of onachu is victor osimhen
Picking Onuachu after Osimehn is not the issue but do we keep on inviting misfiring Onuachu based on his club performances.

He has been given the opportunities and still yet failed to grab any, hope you remember that Onuachu was ahead of Osimehn at last afcon, have not seen any striker who enjoys this privileged...Nwakaeme a match,no call up again,Kayode few minutes,no call up again.

In my previous posts,i brought some critical analysis on how Westerhoff sample his players, club performance doesn't do it alone but player performance in GWG

My point is simple,Onuachu am seeing is not better that Iheanacho in GWG if Osimehn is not available

But our strikers in the EPL, Bundesliga and French leagues aren't getting the said goals, we don't have many there as well. In the 2000s we had Martins, Yakubu, Kanu and so many others in top sides and were doing well. In the 80s and 90s many Nigerian players weren't in England, Germany or Italy. In the 90s we had Efan Ekoku who was excellent in the premier league but was largely disappointing in the eagles. Akpoborie hardly got games for us but was great during his playing days in Germany. At that time we had players that can deliver equally unlike now where Asides Osimhen we can't guarantee that any of our strikers can score.
I got your point and you analysis was damn good but Rohr is just the issue.

This talented team is going to waste under Rohr and it would be very painful.

I will pick Onuachu who has been getting more game time and scoring for his clubside over Iheanacho who has less minutes this season and goals, it's not like Iheanacho has been excellent since for the eagles in the last few games for us. The era you mentioned in the 90s we had strikers that can deliver then unlike now, even in the mid 2000s we had Patrick Ogunsoto and Tosin Dosunmu scoring for fun in Belgium but couldn't break into the national team.
A good gaffer will picked Onuachu but highly intelligent gaffer who know much about Nigeria national team will never pick Onuachu over Kelechi Iheanacho(reason why Rohr is failing)......with Rohr player like Siasia will not make US 94 squad,Owubokiri or Obiku would have been is preferred choice based on their club form.

Rohr just need to know his players and give us results.

Onuachu has been awful in eagles colour and the last time we reckoned with Belgium based players was in the late 80s and 90s.

I will rather pick 10 goals EPL scorer,12 bundesliga goals scorer,15 French league goalsscorer over 20 goals Belgium league scorer.

I don't rate the Belgium league though my opinion.

Onuachu is currently the highest scoring Nigerian striker this season and like I said earlier it will be highly unfair for him to be dropped from the national team, our striking department lacks depth and it was evident in the second leg game against Sierra Leone when we knew Osimhen wouldn't be playing, this is largely due to to fact that Rohr in his squad lists players like Chukwueze, Iwobi, Simon and Musa as forwards. We need to scout for more players that can fit the CF role, nevertheless Onuachu should still be getting call ups to the national because has more minutes than a lot of our strikers and more goals for his team in a decent league.
Rohr is just the issue here

Richard Owubokiri was the highest goal scorer in the whole Europe, even before he achieved the feat,Owubokiri was damn decent in front of goal.He got invited against South Africa and had a goal but after that Westerhoff refused to extend another invitation to him.. question afterwards was WHY and Westerhoff said Owubokiri was not better than Yekini,Siasia and Amokachie.

Mike Obiku was doing it well with Feyenord, this was a club that was slugging it out with great Ajax of then but guessed what,we have better national team players than him.He cannot benched Yekjni,Amokachie and Siasia.

Onuachu has failed to replicate club form in national team.Who is Onuachu for us to change our style of play to that of Genk...are we playing Napoli style to accommodate Victor Osimehn?NO.National team is a place to show that you are ready at any given opportunity.

Sentiment apart, whom will you picked between Onuachu and Iheanacho to lead eagles attack in the absence of Osimehn?

Philosopher1979:
HOW NIGERIAN LEAGUE CAN IMPROVE

The Nff and government should make it a law that no
Nigerian footballer should leave Nigeria before the age of 28.
Most of our best footballers go through football academies and leave without even playing in the nigerian league
The few good ones in our league leave after a few years or even months.

Imagine if Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Obinna Nwobodo, Keneth Omeruo, Peter Etebo etc were in Enyimba
They would win many international trophies in African football.
This law should be in place for 15 years.
Also our local clubs should patronize football academies for players.
If there is a law players cant leave before 28, football academies will be forced to sell there players to Nigerian clubs
and not European agents to make money

This measure should be put in place until our league can stand on its on.
Hmmm, you are a real philosopher but guess what it can't work. The country is in a mess, not only in sports but every sector.

When the leaders of football in the country take football seriously. Improve the pay and welfare packages, improve the stadia and viewing structure, pay workers and improve transportation etc. Then there would be no need to force players to stay.

If not you can't stop players from having better lives. The system is rotten down here. Let the nff and sports ministry start by stopping corruption and looting going on there first.
Thank you,in early 80s how many players travel out for lucrative career?the pay then was okay cos exchange rate with dollar was damn good.I don't expect player like Segun Odegbami to end his career in Nigeria league but can we get it right again,i doubt it.

Stephen Keshi ( Anderlecht)was the first Nigerian to play in any European cup final.

Some guys here are naturally stup!d, I swear. Onauchu has been given more than enough minutes in the National Team, and yet, he's unable to prove himself. And some people are still carried away because of the cheap goals he scores.
Rohr is not getting it right in his player invitation. It is not compulsory to invite Onuachu.

I remember Westerhoff and I can say he will never invite Onuachu....Mike Obiku was doing well for Feyenord but Westerhoff believed in Samson Siasia... Richard Owubokiri was the highest goal scorer in the whole Europe but Yekini was there doing the needful...Chris Ohenhen was damn good in La Liga but Amokachie was doing well.... Finidi George was home based doing it at the right side and Westerhoff wasn't interested in Tijani Babangida who was Europe based....Amuneke with Zamalek benching Ikpeba the prince of Monaco.

I know Rohr would have failed with US 94 Nigeria team based on his philosophy, playing in higher league determine your invitation but sometimes it doesn't work in national team football.

Honestly with Iheanacho do we need Onuachu as back up to Osimehn?NO... really surprised seeing Iheanacho dropped for Onuachu (Afcon 2019)

Better league or not Kayode and Simy are better strikers than Onuachu.

Modified....Kai nobody is stupid here,my man let always calm down. This is a thread for football discourses and our love for eagles brought us here.Respect.

akpoguma has been decent, better than those on the bench, it's because he plays right back that's why people are blinded to his performance. Keeping ebuehi and aina on the bench is detrimental to their performance. But defensively akpoguma has shown that he is better than they both. If ekong and akpoguma and balogun and the rest can be fighting for the cb it'll be good for ebuehi and aina.
Akpogunma better than Ebuehi and Aina defensively?my man haba,so soon you forgot Sierra Leone four goals.

But Rohr can't drop Ekong because he is vice captain.. He can't drop Ajayi because he currently plays at a higher level than Omeruo and he sees him as a makeshift DM.. That leaves Awaziem and Omeruo..and again,he sees Awaziem as a makeshift RB..

We need to free up that defense and as it stands, Omeruo and Collins appear to be the most vulnerable
I got your point and I can tell you that this is the reason why Rohr will never achieve anything with Nigeria team.

Pls go and watch our World cup and Afcon matches and tell me why Omeruo should be dropped.

Ekong is overrated in Super eagles and I can tell you that Ajayi is no where near Omeruo when we talk of eagles forget EPL .

If I have my way I want to see Balogun and Awaziem doing it.

Yes..we need to free space...And Omeruo is down the pecking order .
But of course,Rohr doesn't have balls to drop anybody so he keeps inviting 10 defenders and 3 midfielders..

Keep telling yourself you don't want Omeruo dropped to free space, then attack Rohr for leaving the midfield thin
My man I will pick Omeruo over Ekong and Ajayi though my opinion.
