Fela died at 58 and Tuface is just 42 so what makes you think he has avoided death which we will all face?
Never ever dare to compare Fela and Tuface. Haba no need for comparison, Fela and Tuface are wide apart, respect to Abami eda but tuale to Tubaba too. Oh Fela dead at 58 but i pray that Tuface we live longer coz Fela die a premature death of AIDS.If not for AIDS BABA 70 would still be around I don't know may be u know much about FELA but I can tell u that I know much about him.My uncle live with Fela for some years before he was forced out of Kalakuta republic. We need to rehabilitate him from drugs. Truly Abami sing against corruption and injustices but did u know corruption, injustices, theft, rape, drugs, talk of any social vices reigned supremely in FELA abode. Please ask those who know Kalakuta republic very well. Even Femi Kuti at a time could'nt cope with his Father's lifestyle. Pls don't let me continue coz i hold Fela in a very high esteem. |

Mujtahida: I hear cranks in that Mikel - Onazi - Ndidi combo and this is not a criticism of any of the players mentioned but there's just something not well oiled about their combination. I'd love to see what Iwobi - Mikel - Ndidi would feel like. Ndidi /Ogu can sub Mikel and Etebo can sub Iwobi. Agbo/Agu can sub Onazi. Rohr w not touch that combo for now coz they have not let him down. Honestly i want to see Ndidi-Mikel-Iwobj and see how things goes in d midfield. But so far Ndidi-Onazi-Mikel are doing well. |

Can Tuface stand ordinary one week in jail? Under democratic rule he can't even lead common protest with the masses in his support and ready. Fela didn't even fear the military regime or cared how many times you will jail him.
He was ready to die if that will save Nigeria. Life dey sweet Tuface cos if those soldiers show am ordinary koboko he will deny being Tuface. Truly an extra ordinary Legend but better pray that your life should not be like FELA |

Joebie: Modified And it does not necessarily mean Omeruo did better than Ekong. Two different matches, different scenarios. The attacking threat Ekong faced MAY not have necessitated him having that much tackles, clearances and interceptions. The comparison will be only fair if they are both teammates as Center Backs and played in the same match. So yes, Omeruo had a a higher rating, but his rating is not relative to Ekong's or any other player's for that matter who played in a different match. Are u saying whoscored's rating doesn't matter coz they normally have team of d week and with this rating i thought Omeruo get better chance than Ekong in team of d week with d ratings, just asking |

Joebie: TURKEY: Super Lig - Round 9
https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/32993Aminu.jpg Whoscored Nigerian Super Lig Player of the Week | Aminu Umar
Antalyaspor 2-1 Kasimpasa
Samuel Eto'o (Antalyaspor) got whoscored's MOTM recognition in the expense of Kenneth Omeruo. Omeruo looked rather sluggish and could have been more effective in preventing Antalyaspor's goals. However, the Super Eagles standby center-back came out in top 5 for successful tackles (3). He made 7 clearances, 3 interceptions and was dribbled once. +Stats Rating: 7.21
Sivasspor 0-0 Bursaspor
Super Eagles defensive midfielder, Mikel Agu was not as impressive as he was in his previous outing for Bursaspor. He lasted for the entire duration and was yellow carded in the 59th minute. But in terms of pass success rate, Agu made Whoscored's top 5, with 43 accurate passes from 48 attempted - the second best for players who put in a full shift. Agu also came tops in successful tackles of 4, but was dispossessed twice. +Stats Rating: 7.02
Teammate, William Troost-Ekong also lasted the entire encounter, and did well at the back, with a total of 56 touches to keep the home team quiet for the duration of the match. King-Kong, as he is called by club fans, was impressive with 5 clearances and achieved 100% success in tackles attempted. +Stats Rating: 7.14
Silvasspor and Super Eagles left back, Elderson Echiejile is still out due injury. +Stats Rating: N/A
Osmanlispor 3-0 Karabukspor
Dream Team VI forward, Aminu Umar, worked another full shift as a left attacking midfielder for Osmanlispor. Aminu was rated highly for his all-round contribution in helping his side earn an impressive home win. Umar made 36 accurate passes from 42 attempted, 3 of which were key passes in the build up to the goals scored. +Stats Rating: 7.29
Osmanlispor's manager, Irfan Buz, did not give Raheem Lawal a chance to come on. +Stats Rating : N/A
Yeni Malatyaspor 1-0 Trabzonspor Sincere Seth and teammates benefited from an own goal to steal the maximum points in front of their home fans. Seth did not get the nod from the bench, after a dismal debut showing in the previous round. +Stats Rating : N/A
Azubuike Okechukwu was conspicuously missing from Yeni's matchday squad for the second consecutive time. The 20-year-old Dream Team VI defensive midfielder last played for Yeni on the 1st of October, when he was pulled off in the 44th minute of their 1-1 draw with Patrick Eze's Konyaspor. +Stats Rating: N/A
Kayeserispor 2-1 Konyaspor
Imoh Ezekiel was a 46th minute sub-in for Konyaspor. He was cautioned 3 minutes after regulation time. It was all tie in top 5 for aerial duels won (3), with Ezekiel getting a mention. Ezekiel also managed to take a total of 2 shots for the considerable short time he spent on the pitch, one of which was on target. +Stats Rating: 6.04
24-year-old Konyaspor forward, Patrick Friday Eze, was not listed for the encounter. Eze has been impressive for the Anatollian Eagle since his move from the Emirates. He has scored twice in the 197 minutes he has logged in the Super Lig. He also has an assist to his name in the Europa League. +Stats Rating: N/A Pls what can u say on Omeruo rating coz ANZ said he was sluggish and still get good rating even better than Ekong. |

blueto: IMikel was removed against Cameroon that Onazi was able to go forward to assist Iheanacho's goal. So don't always expect to see the best of Ndidi when Mikel and Onazi are also on the pitch playing a midfield combo. That is why I want to see what Ndidi-Mikel-Iwobi combo will look like. I disagreed,Onazi almost had d same assist against Zambia with d presence of Mikel on d field. It took d intervention of Zambia CB to intercept d pass,it could have been our first goal,it was a weak pass for Ighalo. |

blueto: It has to do with the presence of Mikel and Onazi in same midfield. Just like you don't feel much of Aguero and Dybala's impacts when Messi is also on the pitch. Did you notice that it was when Onazi was removed from the game against Senegal that we starting seeing the best of Ndidi? Even for Onazi, it was when Mikel was removed against Algeria that he threw that great pass to Musa that resulted to the third goal, and also when Mikel was removed against Cameroon that Onazi was able to go forward to assist Iheanacho's goal. So don't always expect to see the best of Ndidi when Mikel and Onazi are also on the pitch playing a midfield combo. That is why I want to see what Ndidi-Mikel-Iwobi combo will look like. Mikel-Onazi limits Ndidi performance?also Mikel-Ndidi limits Onazi performance? Then why are we always complaining that d removal of Mikel always destabilise d team rhythm. Now u want Rohr to try Mikel--Ndidi-Iwobi and we still have Ndidi-Iwobi limits Mikel. I don't think there should be excuse for non performance and so far Ndidi is doing well, super eagles is not Leicester city. There is nothing like removal of one player give other room to perform better, football is not like that,u just have to be at your peak whenever you are on d field irrespective of who is in d team. Mikel-Onazi-Ndidi is working for now coz d result is there for us to see, though good to feel Mikel-Ndidi-Iwobi combo. |

Like, I had to Google half the team to know who they were and let's not even consider the clubs these people played for. It was a poor team through and through.
I was even angry Sunday Mba didn't make the team, it was a proper case of monkey dey work, baboon come chop.
I'm glad this team is doing well so far, however, I must warn Ror that these coming months will be the most trying period of his coaching career because THEY will come. Agents, players, the press, hell, family members even...and everyone will be trying to secure a slot, he will be toasted heavily and he will need a strength of mind to overcome the pressure and swim with half of this current team. Especially agents |

Goke7: truth is personal sentiments can never be avoided even all of us here, we all have our personal bias against one person or the other. if am a boss in an organisation and someone whose father did my own father evil in their days is about to get an appointment in the organisation and I then have influence to make a decision on that person's appointment, it will take God the father, Son and Holy Spirit for that person to get that job. We are all humans, we just have to make sure it doesn't affect things much but such things do happen. Even in different teams across the world, we often marvel with some coach's decision when it's obvious there is no footballing reason for such decisions. True talk. |

Icon4s: In what context?
Efan Ekoku was even rated by many to be better than Yekini.
The debate then was Yekini/Efan. Owubokiri was making waves but not much highly rated by the coaching crew. I disagreed, did u remember Chidi Nwanu nearly missed d WC despite having a wonderful season at Anderlecht. Remember it took d intervention of goalkeeper trainer before Rufai could make Afcon team. If Westerhoff had his way players like Peter Rufai,Chidi Nwanu w not make US 94 squad but it was glaring Chidi Nwanu was needed after Afcon As u said Yekini was far better even Amokachie, Siasia are better than Owubokiri but not Efan Ekoku i watched in Norwich and against Zaire. Efan Ekoku made d team solely on Kojo Williams who happened to.be Westerhoff close ally. Did u realised John Fashanu nearly made d team after he refused to play for Nigeria, then Chief Akinwumi recommended him but Kojo Williams block him and used Dudu Orumen to paint Fashanu black through his sport show. It was later discovered there was terrible family scandal between Fashanu and Kojo's Father SB Williams. If not for that Fashanu w make US 94 team. My man a lot are happening behind d scene when it comes to players selection even with foreign coach. If I may ask icon4s can u explain how Aaron Samuel came into reckoning before Cameroon match. |

Goke7: Agreed! Thanks Goke,i read most of your comments on how to avoid d past mistakes we made during preparation for WC and during d WC,ranging from changing of coach, administrative lapses, tactical issues, disunity in d team etc. Well said but from my own opinion i w only make reference to US 94 team if i have d opportunity of advising this present team, cos they share a lot of things in common. Clemens Westerhoff enjoyed d total support of Nigeria fans just like Rohr is having today, also Westerhoff had d backing of football administrators then even to d presidency. I remember Alex Akinyele got sacked as d sport minister for going on air to criticised Westerhoff especially Keshi after we secured our qualification in Algiers.Same thing can be said of Rohr, having d backing of NFF to d extent he doesn't complain much about his salary payment. US 94 yeam got everything right till they reach WC,started well and qualified from d group to 2nd round, fans were happy to see a wonderful team but before Italy match a lot of things happened that caused distraction to d team. Disunity,we heard a lot of rumours that some players gang up against Yekini which i did'nt believe, generally Yekini was poor at US 94.A brawl really occurred between Siasia and Olishe and it really affected d team against Italy coz some players believe Westerhoff should not have take side.Due to d brawl Siasia was dropped from d team against Italy. Disunity among players must be avoided in this present team.Unity is d key to success in any team and thank God d bond in this present team is awesome. Players selection,we should be careful with our players selection, d best should be picked and d bench must be strong.During preparation to US 94 Westerhoff make sure all positions were well covered up. Despite winning Afcon,Westerhoff was'nt satisfied with his CB coz Keshi has lost form due to knee injury and Uche Okafor was a suspect, this paved way for unwanted Chidi Nwanu to make d team. Also Ugbade was dropped for Emenalo, one of d best tactical decision by Clemens Westerhoff coz Iroha couldn't finish our first match and ruled out of WC due to injury I believe US94 team should serve as an example to this team.Rohr should fix d grey area is having issues and no sentiments should override his judgements on any players, remember sentiments override Westerhoff judgment regards Siasia brawl with Olishe and it affected our match plan against Italy. |

TheGoodJoe: Let me use this opportunity to do a throwback of one of Coach Monday Sinclair's boys.
OWUBOKIRI: NIGERIA’S GOAL-MERCHANT SUPREMO
Former Nigeria international goal scoring legend Richard ‘Ricky’ Owubokiri achieved football immortality when he scored 30 goal in 34 games for Boavista to emerge top scorer in Portugal in 1992 and second highest overall in all of Europe. He was a quintessential goal scorer supreme whose exploits took him to four continents.Owubokiri began his professional education with Nigerian club, Sharks as a schoolboy in 1978 when he joined form Okrika Grammar school in his final year alongside other schoolboys Benji Nzeakor and Rowland Orufe.
Ricky recalled: “At Okrika Grammer School, I was assistant captain games captain and I was always on fire for the school team. I once scored six goals against Government comprehensive secondary school, Borokiri.
“It was through my exploits then that Coach Monday Sinclair gave me an invitation to join the Sharks team. I was able to score because I have always liked training even when I was a child...I would always train and train and train and train till I could train no more. In every profession or endeavour, that should be the guiding principle.”
He made his debut in 1979 and was top scorer in division two in 1980 with 23 goals as they won promotion back to the top flight and also 6 goals as they got to the finals of the Wafu cup losing 1-2 on aggregate to Police of Senegal.
In 1981,Ricky was one of the most feared Strikers in the Nigerian league as he teamed up with Adokiye Amiesimaka and his goals again inspired Sharks who stormed to the Challenge cup Semi-finals with defending champions needing a replay to prevent them from reaching the finals.
He was transferred to ACB of Lagos in 1981 as well as St Gregory’s college, Lagos for his A-levels, same year he would earned his national cap including representing Nigeria at the 1982 African cup of Nations in Libya and would spend just one season before rejoining Sharks in 1983.
Ricky’s return to Sharks co-incided with the arrival of Brazilian coach Luciano Abreu and new strike partner Paul Uzokwe, and with it the introduction to the Brazilian playing style similar to what he learnt from his mentor Monday Sinclair. He would again be top scorer as Sharks narrowly missed promotion that year The deadly striker, precociously gifted and far above his peers in the technical appreciation of the game, was never going to spend too much time in the domestic scene as he became the first Nigerian to play in Brazil when he joined Rio de Janiero club, America in 1983 with the help of Coach Abreu who returned to his native country.
He then moved on to another Brazilian club, Esporte Clube Vitoria when his remarkable 35 goals in his first and only season at the club saw the European fat cats scrambling with their cheque books for his signature.Another thing that comes to mind about Owubokiri was his playing exploits in Brazil in the early eighties. How did he feel playing in Brazil at a time when not many African players did and what was the reaction from other players?
“I was well received because that was a novelty. It had never happened before so people were curious. In one of the first games I played in Rio (a Brazilian Cup game) all the fans were cheering my name. My first touch was a goal.
“It was an assist by my co-striker and I used my movement to beat my marker before thumping a firt time shot into the back of the net. The fans went wild. It was a great for me. I was top scorer in Brazil in 84 (15 golas in 18 games) and 85 (22 goals in 26 matches) alongside Zico, Careca, Socrates, Falcao, Casagrande, Junior, the Argentine goalkeeper, Fillol, Georginho, Dunga, Bebeto, Romario and other legends. It was an importnant moment in my career.
“My worst memory was been left out of the 1994 Fifa World Cup at a time when I was among the best time at the world. My best memory was when I scored 30 goals and became the second top scorer in Europe. No African player has ever done till this day so it is a big record and I thank God because without God, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve.
It was a good moment for me, and my family. “On that performance, I received a recommendation from the Nigeria Football Association to play for the Super Eagles.
“The best coach I worked under was Monday Sinclair, my former coach at Sharks. He believed when I was a 17 year old. Without him, I would never have succeeded as a professional. He is a father, a leader and a motivator...always advising. He was a complete coach and it was unfortunate he never had the opportunity to manage the national team for a long time...he was the perfect coach and a gentleman.
“I also worked under Aimore Moreira (a Brazilian, his brother, Jose Moreira was a former Coach of the Brazil national team) he was directly behind my success in the Brazilian national team.
“He waited for me for two months before signing me. Manuel Jose brought me to Portugal in the best moment in my career. I was scoring from all angles.
Manuel Jose was a highly intelligent coach who knew how to get the best out of me when I was at the peak of my powers.
“They are extremely important in my career and I will be grateful to them all through my career.
“One of the finest moment in my career is in Doha. I won the hearts of the Arabs...I had achieved so much earlier in my career and they expected so much from me. I did not let them down!”
After his sojourn in Brazil, ‘Ricky’ moved to the French Championnat with the Stade Lavallois Mayenne Football Club where he scored 10 goals in the 1986/1987 season. Big guns, Metz were suitably impressed and signed him on for the 1987/1988 season.
Portugal was next for the 1.82 m (5 ft 11 1/2 in) attacker as he went on to enjoy the best years of his professional career with Benfica, Estrela Amadora, Boavista, Vitoria and Belenenses between 1985 and 1995.
Owubokiri scored 81 goals during his time in the Portuguese Super Liga. “I recall a situation when I was in Boavista; the German goalkeeper at the time was Oliver Kahn. A lot of the strikers were scared of him. We (Boavista) were playing against His (Kahn’s) club at the time Karlsruhe in a European game. I scored against Oliver Kahn. I also scored against the French number one at the time, Bats. Even Victor Baia; I scored against him too. It was all down to hard work.
“My best goal was against SS Lazio in the European Cup. We had lost the first leg one-nil and we needed to win the return leg by two clear goals to advance. Before the game, the President of the club (now a Mayor in Portugal) Valentin Loureiro came into the dressing room with a bag filled with hundreds of thousands of pounds. He said the money belonged to us if we qualified by beating Lazio. I scored both goals...the second goal against Lazio was my best goal. The Lazio team had a great defence and the second goal was pure class!
“I received a pass from my Brazilian national team, Marlon Braodao and I feinted spectacularly, selling a dummy to the Lazio defenders and came face to with the goal keeper.
No one (not even me) expected this...I then sent the keeper the wrong way with a cool finish. It was one of the happiest moments in my career. I picked up an injury in that game because of the the move I made leading to the goal.”
He enjoyed stints in Asia in the twilight of his career with Al Arabi (Qatar) where he scored 27 goals in 26 games.
“I was highest goal scorer in Qatar...I scored 27 goals in 26 matches.
“I love Qatar as it was an important moment in my football career. They (the Arabs) called me a funny ame (Gbokiri...whatever that means.....hahahahahaha)...I will be in Doha in April 2012.
“Unfortunately, I won no honours with Nigeria but I played at the 1982 Africa Cup of Nations and was part of the qualifying process for the 1994 World Cup in the United States.
Owubokiri represented Nigeria between 1982 when he played at the African Cup of nations in Libya and 1992; famously becoming the first person to score a goal against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana following their re-admittance into international football in a qualifying game for the 1994 Fifa World Cup.
“My last game for Nigeria was the 1994 World Cup qualifier against the Bafana of South Africa...we won the game 4-0,” he said.
Ricky finished his career in Brazil and has continued to live in Brazil with his wife and kids. He set up the Ricky Soccer Academy and also coached at fluminenese but is now working full-time as a FIFA Agent.
On the kind of contribution he will render towards the development of the game in Nigeria, Ricky has this to say, “I have been active in football as a football. I have been involved in football as an international football agent. I have been doing business in that regard in the middle East, South America and Europe. I want to do more in Nigeria too. My first job will be to enlighten people who manage football in the country. To enlighten the representatives of our football so they can have a responsible and accountable attitude. If we put personal interests on the back seat, we will have a great chance of moving our football forward.”

Till today i keep on wondering why Owubokiri was dropped by Westerhoff after Bafana Bafana game,i remember we had him,Yekini,Siasia in that match. He scored d first goal,Siasia too and Yekini scored a brace. After that match Westerhoff refused to extend invitation to Owubokiri again just like what is happening to Aluko presently though different scenario. But what surprised me most,Owubokiri was dropped but Efan Ekoku later made d team. |

komekn: Even from far away England I feel the impact of Godfatherism in Nigeria. But that's the tip of the ice- berg because you may find it hard to believe, but Egunje is still at work.
To date Aluko has never been recalled, the way Enyeama was treated is still is baffling. Godfatherism w continue to exist in Nigeria whether we like it or not, though on a reduce rate now with Rohr in charge but i can still tell u some players are getting invitation through Godfatherism. If Aluko cannot get invitation after scoring a brace for Nigeria, beg for answer.I watched Oyekwuru against PSG and i said to myself something is wrong somewhere, also watching Kayode against Deportivo i asked again what hell is going on. |

Icon4s: As if some players are free from criticism.
When Musa went to Leicester and couldn't fit in: 'It is Musa that is not good'. 'Musa has been found out'.
Now Iheanacho has gone there and could not fit in they are looking for his agent and Leicester style to blame. Some blamed Shakespeare and even celebrated his sack as though it will bring better fortunes to Iheanacho.
Chidi Nwakali could not play a single game all season at Diportivo and it was blamed on Racism. Kayode has gone there and is already winning MOTM. The club has suddenly changed from being racist. Good u are coming out to say this, some shield their love players from criticism and descend on others for no reason. |

Icon4s: Does the agent kick the balls for Iheanacho?
Good players go to lowly clubs and change things for the positive. They turn things around irrespective of the club's philosophy or how they play.
You recall when Austin Okocha went to Bolton? He single-handledly took them out of relegation in his first season. Iheanacho's transfer was meant to catapult Leicester back at least into the top half of the league table.
A player the club spent so much on.
Talking about the way the club plays, is it the club that will change their style of play to what suits Iheanacho or it is Iheanacho that will adjust to Leicester's style. Did he not see them play all these seasons before agreeing to terms with them?
I am just worried about his form for Nigeria. Rohr needs to do some thing fast about our striking department. That's it,his form is d issue coz WC is around d corner. |
