We are launching satellites,

Common air balloons and weather stations could have been used. These would have created more jobs, had a greater social impact on the communities and also created small cottage industries.

Instead we "built and launched" satellites that we probably cannot maintain.

I cant believe someone wrote this, shocked , comparing  a SATELITE to air baloons to

We all complain of our beeing backward yet we complain at every sign of progresss,

Politics / Re: Nigerian Police Harassment @ Jibowu Railway Track by KokoBeware: 1:56pm On Aug 19, 2011
To pinkrex,

The point Haboosa is making is simple - The operation of the NP in that place is questionable.

The guy has committed no wrong if there were no signs and he is even in a position to sue NP and NRC in the eventy of any accident. I am bold to say the guy will laugh last if it were in developed world

In a developed world you wouldnt even dream of stopping on a road intersection not to talk of a railway track, and the guy didnt say there was no sign there did he??
Politics / Re: Nigerian Police Harassment @ Jibowu Railway Track by KokoBeware: 1:37pm On Aug 19, 2011
For crying out loud, you stopped on a RAILWAY LINE which is a crime anywhere in the world, its your fault, the fact that you didn't know dosn't make you right, and am sure there would have been a sign there, which as every average Nigerian you ignored,

NNigeria’s President Visits Site of Police Headquarters Bombing
Friday, June 17th, 2011 at 2:10 pm UTC
Posted 2 minutes ago

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has visited the site of what is believed to be the country's first suicide bombing, which killed a police officer and wounded at least seven other people.

After his inspection Friday, the president urged Nigerians not to panic, saying “terrorist attacks” are affecting countries all over the world.

The radical Islamist group Boko Haram claimed responsibility for Thursday's blast outside Nigeria's national police headquarters in Abuja. The explosion was so powerful that it destroyed more than 30 cars.

Authorities blame the group for a string of deadly attacks in Nigeria's north that have targeted police officers, government officials and other authority figures.

Also Thursday, a bomb went off in Nigeria's northeastern Borno state, killing four children. Police said the children were playing nearby when the bomb went off inside a home in the town of Damboa. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Politics / Re: Network Failure Within The City Center During The Presidential Inauguration by KokoBeware: 8:22am On May 30, 2011
^^^ On the day of London bombings, wired (line) service worked. mobile was switched off/jammed.

Yesterday in Abuja, Glo network worked throughout the day with the efficiency it was not hitherto known for. It appears the blocking was restricted to only MTN and Zain. May be based on intelligence report

Thats not true, GLO network was also shut down, Visafone and starcomms were also down,
Politics / Re: Network Failure Within The City Center During The Presidential Inauguration by KokoBeware: 11:32pm On May 29, 2011
They jammed just the radio frequency around eagle square, this also affected Television transmission, (if u noticed NTA hooked up late) , that is why they had to instruct the networks to shut down switches around Abuja, @ least the Inauguration was hitch-free,

NYSC / Re: Which Institution Offers The Highest Salary For Nysc Workers by KokoBeware: 1:13pm On May 23, 2011
@Poster

We will have to assume u ave very loooong legs to carry u into any of this companies, Most of them pay 25-40k for corpers and you will get little or NO experience if you are an engineer, except you wish to work in the call center of which i doubt they employ corpers. CBN pays 30k-no matter how good u are u cant be retained there.

There are smaller companies that pay much more if you have that looong leg use it and go to companies contracting for the big ones, you have a higher probability of being retained there, better pay, and better experience ---if you are good--

Programming / Re: The Story Behind Openvr, The Voters Registration Software by KokoBeware: 3:42pm On May 20, 2011
exactly what was this software able to achieve? Undecided
there was multiple registration (i know some1 who registered on 2 states)
the software and the records was not consulted during the actual voting (my neighbor's brother voted in place of my neighbor)
Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

The software was not meant to fish out multiple registrations at national level, was within a particular state, even if u register in two state on election day how would you move between the states to vote,

Instead of complaining why dont you congratulate the young men that did a good job at least it was done in naija

4. This arrangement shall be in force in Lagos state, F.C.T., Port Harcourt, Kano and Aba in the first instance. The arrangement shall be extended to other parts of the country at a date to be determined by the Bankers Committee.

So, because about 25% of the people in Kenya use EPayment means it is a solution for Nigeria-- it is a solution to be forced on over 70% of Nigerians , why? Why? Why ? Seriously, Why?

I don't think the population in those five places equal 70% of Nigerians, and i think LAgos, FCT, PHC, Kano have the infrastructure to make this work cant say much about Aba though,

No matter how difficult change is, we have to start from somewhere even if it means forcing it down our throats, it definately will not be succesful immediately and there will be hitches, but we all know that we need moves like this to ginger Nigerians, else we will keep doing the same thing for the next 10years and keep saying we dont have the infrastructure,

The infrastructures needed to make this type of policy work do not exist! It will only cause unnecessary pain for the populace! Perhaps, the CBN has plans to give us uninterrupted power supply, 70% nationwide internet/phone network coverage, Adequate consumer protection and education about their rights when the Banks mess up! The uneducated will suffer the most!

Its not CBN that will provide other infrastructure, other sectors -especially the private will wake up and key into opportunities provided by this, trust Nigerians and thier Fire brigade approach, I think its a good move,

Politics / Re: The Trains Are Back! - Where Are The Trains? by KokoBeware: 9:53am On Apr 14, 2011
Are trains in Nigeria designed to operate once in 4 years? This has been the trend since 2007 before elections. I thought this year would be different but I was wrong, because the celebrated re-lunched train operation we had in March 2011 has gone back to its normal state to be re-lunched again in March 2015.

Where do you live?? do u leave by a rail way, or you are just talking, expecting trains to pass by ur bus stop daily,
