Dailyreporters: OMG! I cant believe this is happening . Seriously the photos taken below have sparked outrage online! Why would someone strip young women to their underwear in public, just to punish for late-coming?
Here’s what Song wrote on Facebook;
‘Only in Africa will you see this type of nonsense. Student stri*ped unclad and flogged as part of school punishment. I really don’t care what they did but this is totally unacceptable. And it’s so funny why these grown a*s students allowed themselves to be punished in this manner.’
According to close reports from Cameroonians who shared the photos online, the awful incident took place at a public school in Baham in the Western region of Cameroon recently. Photos below;
^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^ Cameroon is a country that has militarised her citizens who have seen a lot of lawlessness under Paul Biya the President, that is partly why a sick male teacher can strip his female students halfnaked.
Nothing will come out of it except there is a global campaign in which French citizens are also involved in because that country's leadership licks the boot of France like some other Francophone countries do!
2horsePOWER: In spite of the Nigerian music industry being historically male-dominated, these ground-breaking female musicians paved the way for more women to rule in music. Here are some of Nigeria’s outstanding legendary women musicians !
SALAWA ABENI Salawa Abeni, an Ijebu-born singer, began her career in Waka music when she released her debut album, ‘Late General Murtala Ramat Mohammed,’ in 1976 and sold over a million copies. She was crowned “Queen of Waka music,” by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi in 1992.
^^^^^^^ Classic list of the top 11! Fills me with an intense nostalgia.
Lesgupnigeria: There is no doubt agricbusiness venture is very profitable but you will needs proper guidance and mentoring to succeed especially if you are starting your business for the first time, having little or no knowledge about the business of agriculture. money have been made and money have been lost. The thin line between money made and money lost can be the difference about what you know and your capability. I am an incurable learner who is curious to know more and improve my capacity because the more I know, the more success I will have. I have always believe in on-the-farm training where real practical work are being carried out and participant performance can be tracked and mistakes can be easily corrected. I will not be doing it alone. i am partnering with a very successful farmer, the CEO of Oladire Farms, Mr Ayoola Oladire with over 20 years of experience in farming business. The aim of the Free Agribusiness Coaching is to create Millionaires through agribusiness and I am sure if you are able to learn and do on your farmland what you will learn practically, the sky is the beginning for you. To qualify, you must have interest in farming, you should have a farmland or about to and be ready to start making use of it by next season. Due to our busy schedules,We are starting with 50 people and will be restricted to South west for now. You can drop your email and phone number on this thread and you will be contacted or you send it to yusuffgbenga@gmail.com join the whatsapp agribusiness coaching group 08164628081. *Modified* To accomodate more people,we are increasing the number to 100 people. So hurry before the opportunity closes.
fiveloaves: Success in Agribusiness, like every other venture in life cannot be achieved by knowledge/information alone. The knowledge must be developed into practical skills.
Knowledge is information acquired through Reading, watching, listening, touching, etc. Skills, on the other hand refers to the ability to apply knowledge to specific situations. Skills are developed through practice.Simply put, knowledge is theoretical and skills are practical.
Nigeria is the only part of the world where people want to attend 2 days’ seminar, buy an e-book and hope to achieve success in agribusiness. Don’t be deceived! it is not going to work! You don’t learn any trade of business like that. There must be apprenticeship to get the right skills required to be successful in agribusiness.
Modern apprenticeship programs provide both on-the-job training and classroom instruction; Apprentices usually start by taking on simple tasks and progress to more complex tasks as time goes on.This is the kind of training I advocate for in agribusiness. Not e-books and 2-3 days seminars!
I am a catfish farming entrepreneur. I raise market size catfish for consumption. If you want to train under me, it will take you nothing less than a month If you are available to come to the farm every day. If want to run a weekend program (Saturday and Sunday), you will spend 2 months (8 weekends).
I don’t give e books. You write your notes as I teach. We don’t have classrooms, apprentice sit on a bench under banana trees taking note as they listen to the instructor in the farm.
Farming is very practical. You can only learn it as such!
Agumbaa: Video shows mammoth crowd welcome Overall leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Anambra on Friday.
This event which held at Learning Field Omagba Phase 2, Onitsha had an innumerable number of Biafrans who chanted different songs, to support their Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and also to pass a message that "No Election" will be held in Anambra state.
UzuegbuProsper: ABUJA-THE Police high command has dismissed report of alleged disappearance or death of billionaire kidnapper, Chukwuduneme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, in its custody. EVANS It said contrary to the report, the kidnapper was not only firmly in its custody hale and hearty but also was very much assisting it in its ongoing investigation of alleged crimes he perpetrated while holding sway in his profession.
Reacting to the report following enquiry from newsmen, Weekend, in Abuja, Force Headquarters, through its spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, insisted that Evans never vanished from its custody nor died as being rumoured. But Moshood described those peddling the rumour as mischief makers who were only out to tarnish the hard earned image of the Nigerian Police not only in crime fighting but also prevention as well as investigation.
Reminded that the story was in one of the conventional media platforms already, Mr. Moshood responded: “The people are just mischievous. Evans did not vanish, Evans is still in police custody and we are making progress in the investigation.”
He added: “You know we have a warrant from the court to keep him for three month and we are in the first month. Evans did not vanish.” When told that there was another information that the recently arrested kidnapper had been transferred to Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer said:”I don’t know, if you have that kind of information, why are you calling me again to say Evans vanished? ”
Informed that an online platform had carried a story to that effect, Moshood said:”It is unfortunate that the online has become a comedian centre since nobody has given report that Evans has vanished.”
He further clarified: “Evans did not vanish, vanish into where? Is it evaporation we call it or what? Evans is still in police custody; he is hale and healthy and he has been assisting the police further in their investigation. So, he is in police custody.”
Recall that a media organization (Not Vanguard), had reported Saturday, that Evans, Nigeria’s infamous billionaire kidnapper, was no longer in the media glare unlike the past few weeks, thus fuelling speculations that he’s escaped, or dead.
^^^^^^ A section of the media are in fact fuelling a lot of mass hysteria on this issue. The Press Council in Nigeria has to start fining any media house that publishes FAKE NEWS from now on!
Hash86: Unfortunately, many people consider respect for the rules of etiquette as something shameful, considering it a feature of classy aesthetes who are removed from real life. On the contrary, following these rules make someone looks responsible, wise and gain more respect from people around him. In fact, the basic rules of etiquette are pretty simple. It’s a culture of speech, common courtesy, neat appearance, and control over your emotions . Here you are presented with the 25 etiquette rules, which every self-respecting person should know.
1. If you say, ’I invite you,’ that means you pay. You may say, ’Let’s go to a restaurant,’ and in this case, everyone pays for themselves. If a man offers to pay for a woman, she can agree.
2. Never pay a visit without a calling first. If someone came to see you without warning, you might be wearing a bathrobe and hair curlers! One British lady liked to say that when uninvited guests showed up on her doorstep, she always put shoes on, and grabbed a hat and an umbrella. If she liked the person, she exclaimed, ’I just got home!’ If not, she sighed and said, ’Ah, what a pity, I was just on my way out.’
3. Don’t put your phone on the table in public. By doing so, you show how important a role this device plays in your life, how bored you are of what’s happening, and that at any moment you’re ready to stop a useless conversation and once again check your Instagram feed, answer an important call, or try new levels in candy crush.
4. Don’t invite a girl on a date if you’re going to be texting all the evening or you have an important chart that evening. It makes you look less caring, a phone addicted or a busy bee sort of which is less romantic.
5. A man never carries a woman’s handbag. However, he can take her coat to carry it to the cloakroom.
6. If you’re walking along with someone and your companion greets a person you don’t know, you should also greet them.
7. Most people believe that the only proper way of eating sushi is using chopsticks. However, this really depends. Men, unlike women, can eat sushi with their hands.
8. Your shoes should always be clean. Usually it's the point where people assess the completeness of your dressing, if they found any fault over there they regard your dressing incomplete no matter how expensive or fashionable it is
9. Avoid meaningless talk on the phone or else people will start regarding your calls less serious and even not picking your calls. If you are boring and need someone to talk to, it’s better you go and meet with them in person.
10. If someone offends you(especially someone of low level), you shouldn’t return the favor or raise your voice to the person who insulted you. Don’t sink to their level. Just smile and leave the ill-mannered company.
11. A man should always walk on a woman’s left-hand side. Military men are the only exception, because they should be ready to salute.
12. Drivers should remember that puddle-splashing of passers-by is an amoral behavior.
13. Nine things should be kept secret: age, wealth, family quarrels, religion, medical problems, love affairs, gifts, honor, and disgrace.
14. In the cinema, theatre, or concert hall, you should move to your seat facing those sitting. A man goes first.
15. A man should never touch a woman without her permission. This means that it is unacceptable to: hold her hand, touch her during a conversation, and push her or take her hand above the elbow (unless a man is helping her to get into or out of a car, or cross the street).
16. If someone calls to you rudely (’You there!’), you shouldn’t answer. Be a model of good etiquette and polite social manners.
17. The golden rule when using perfume is moderation. If you can still smell your perfume in the evening, everyone else is already tired of it.
18. A well-bred man will always show proper respect to a woman.
19. In a woman’s presence, men may only smoke with her permission.
20. Whoever you are — a company director, an academician, an elderly person, or a student — when you enter a room you should be the first person to greet everyone there.
21. Respect the privacy of correspondence. Parents shouldn’t read their children’s letters. Couples should show the same respect for each other. Сhecking someone’s pockets in search of love notes, letters, and other things is extremely rude.
22. Don’t try to chase fashion. It’s better to wear nice, even if not fashionable than look awful in a brand-new suit.
23. If you’re forgiven after you’ve apologized, don’t touch the offensive subject again just to say you’re sorry. You should try to avoid such mistakes in the future.
24. Avoid laughing and talking too loudly, as well as staring at people — it’s insulting.
25. Don’t forget to thank your loved ones, relatives, and friends. They help you not because they have to. It’s their desire. Appreciate them.
As Jack Nicholson, an American actor, said: ’I think much of decency. How to pass a plate. Not to shout from one room to another. Not to open a closed door without knocking. Let a lady pass. The aim of these endless simple rules is to make life better. I pay close attention to my manners. Etiquette matters. It’s a simple and comprehensible language of mutual respect.’ Let’s respect each other!
lordhugo: ‘Snail experts’ who tell you to construct a pen, buy snails from their own farms , feed them with paw-paw leaves or a ‘super formulated feed’ , allow each parent snail lay anywhere from 20-400 eggs 5-6 times a year, achieve 100% hatch-ability so you can have 1,000,000 baby snails (one million) snails worth N200,000,000 (one million dollars) in an 12 additional months is simply not being practical.
These conditions can only be met in a scientific laboratory with huge funds allocated. Guess what? You do not have a lab neither do you have money to waste. (because such a venture if ever done will be for scientific ends and definitely not for personal profits).
The best you can do is to maximize your profits using my simple methods of cheap and practical secrets which coupled with best practices and application of good quality control will reward you more often than not. These are ‘little secrets’ which will give you ‘big results’.
I have compiled it in a fun way from A-Z and it will hopefully raise up more owners of profitable snaileries in Nigeria , Africa and the world at large.
SO, lets read A,B, C - the snail way!
Achatina is a genus of medium-sized to very large, air-breathing, tropical land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Achatinidae. There are some 200 species of Achatinidae in Sub-Saharan Africa. Some species are kept as terrarium (just a fancy name for an aquarium without water ; LOL) animals due to their size and colourful shells. For the purposes of snail farming however, we will concern ourselves with only the three species of that genus that is commercial , marketable and of course profitable. They are Achatina achatina Linnaeus, Achatina marginata and their younger brother – Achatina Fulica.
Breeder snails are the patriarchs and matriarchs (even though snails are hermaphrodites) of your prospective snail farm. Snails are “highly reproductive”! . these breeders are 12-24 months old snails who possesses the required qualities needed to start, sustain and “successfulize” your snail venture. Logical characteristics include shell health, age, species, source location, stress factors present in capturing and transporting as well as your own size of farm (estimated), location of farm and type of housing to implement. I always suggest sourcing mature adult snails from deep in the forests rather than farms. Farms are a good way but not really the best because the forest snails have had a natural life and are usually more hardy. Snails from farms have had too much contact from ‘snail slime’ from the snail trails of other snails in the farm and this significantly reduces their fertility and overall immunity to diseases. (Snails from farms are spoilt kids.Check out ‘Density Matters‘) . The only place you shouldn’t buy snails though are your city markets. Live snails from such markets are usually stressed and are best for eating. Yummy!
Calcium is the single most important factor in the feeding of any snail venture. Why? Simple. Low calcium intake will slow the growth rate and cause the shells to be thinner. Calcium may be set out in a feeding dish or trough so the snails can eat it at will. Food is only one calcium source. Snails may eat paint or attack walls of buildings seeking calcium, and they also will eat dirt. I use two cheap calcium sources in all my farms. One from the green outer leaves of cabbage (you do not pay for this. It is freely available in any fruit/vegetable market in Nigeria). They will even beg you to help them carry the ‘dirty’!
“An experiment was carried out to assess the growth performance of African Giant Land Snail Achatina achatina fed with three natural feedstuff; pawpaw fruit, pawpaw leaves and cabbage leaves. A total of 24 growing snails of approximately one year old were used for the study. These were randomly divided into six groups and then allotted into the three experimental diets, arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) order. Dry matter intakes of feed being served every other days, weight gain and size increase of snails were assessed fortnightly. The results showed that pawpaw leaf is higher in protein than cabbage leaf and pawpaw fruit.
However, cabbage leaf contains some essential mineral elements, which are useful in body building than the other two feedstuffs. It also showed that snails fed with cabbage leaves had the highest dry matter intake and weight gain of 14.2 and 18.6 g, respectively. Highest shell length and circumference increase of 0.3 and 0.6 cm were obtained in pawpaw fruit and pawpaw leaf respectively. Although there was no significance difference (p > 0.05) in the weight gain of snails fed with pawpaw fruit and cabbage leaves, cabbage leaf seems to be richer in protein and other essential mineral elements than pawpaw fruit. It was therefore concluded that cabbage leaf could serve as a good substitute for pawpaw fruit and leaves, which hitherto were known as the preferred natural feedstuff of snails.” That was the abstract of a research paper by 4 professor level experts from the Federal college of forestry Jericho , Ibadan. I saw it since 2009 and I have applied it successfully.
The other cheap but effective calcium source is broken rock fragments of limestone. Just place them as ‘Licking stones’ in pens or the habitat where you plan to house your snails. Find them easily in stores where poultry feeds are sold or just take a hike to the hills of Okpella in Edo, Nkalagu in Ebonyi, Obajana in Kogi or mfanmosing in cross river and load sacks of it for you. Good Calcium Supply, Bigger Healthier Snails.
Density matters! Instead of wondering what brought Physics into snail farming, proper use of space can determine if your snail venture is successful or not. Why have plenty of snails in a confined space or little snails in a wide enclosure. One issue as I mentioned in ‘Breeder Snails’ is the fact that density affects the growth and breeding capacity of snails. High density populations tend to grow slowly, develop into smaller adults, and lay fewer clutches of eggs and fewer eggs per clutch. If the snails are very densely packed, they may not breed at all. The accumulating slime suppresses reproduction. Other disadvantages of high density are the high rates of parasitism and ease of transmission of diseases.
Snails tend not to breed when packed too densely or when the slime in the pen accumulates too much. The slime apparently works like a pheromone and suppresses reproduction. On the other hand, snails in groups of about 100 seem to breed better than when only a few snails are confined together. Perhaps they have more potential mates from which to choose. Snails in a densely populated area grow more slowly even when food is abundant, and they also have a higher mortality rate. These snails then become smaller adults who lay fewer clutches of eggs, have fewer eggs per clutch, and the eggs have a lower hatch rate. Smaller adult snails sell for less. Dwarfing is quite common in snail farming and is attributable mainly to rearing conditions rather than heredity factors. Crowding snails is false economy Think of about 20 Mature snails per square meter.( Infact, Per cube meter as they tend to climb). 40/Sq3 for medium snails and 80-100/Sq3 for baby snails. Density matters!
Escargot simply means snail meant for consumption usually in Europe and particularly in France, Spain and Portugal. For this backyard farming purposes, I will restrict it to farming, harvesting, processing and marketing of well packagaed snails. You have to get to the ‘escargot level’ if you are ready to fully exploit the goldmine that is snail farming. It is not really expensive to start. As little as having 100 mature snails laid freely by 5 breeders can start off your snail empire. Instead of selling to the market woman who would price and haggle, just harvest your snails, clean them hygienically and store raw in a freezer. Now you can have a better price from your road side ‘frozen chicken and fish store’ , a neighbour or even a hotel or fast-food chain. 100 pieces x 250-400Naira in 6-8months.Do the maths for 1000 pieces when all you need is 50 metres square (5metres by 10metres piece of land) I smell money! I promised to bare ‘every secret’ in snail farming.
Bigger escargot operations can rake in Millions from exporting to Europe, Asia and of course U.S.A. The U.S.A is a goldmine as the government banned ‘Live’ snails from being imported. Our African brothers need snail in that country no be small since no Giant African Snail farm can exist legally. You can even do what I call stock market trading in snails. I simply buy small to medium sized snails from the forests at a very cheap rate in the rainy season (we are in one at the moment but it will soon end so take action now and put them in my ‘snail bank’ for 6 months). With a mix of expertise not unrelated to cheap/quality feeds and complete snail care you can sell in the dry season 4-6 months later and make 4-5 times gross profits. (Take into account initial capital, feeding costs ). Example buy 1000 snails at N50 and sell for N250 after ‘Banking’ them. More preferable is you harvest, clean and market yourself. This stock market is surer than sure.
Feeding is the single most important factor in snail farming. Snails are easy to feed, they will feed on nearly every organic food source that is non-toxic, not hairy/waxy including leaves, fruits, vegetables, tubers and household wastes (that contain no Table Salt (NaCl). Common food sources include fruits and veggies like banana, melon, cabbage, carrot, pawpaw, lettuce, cucumber, potato, pumpkin, plantain etc. Some people formulate special feeds for snails but you have to outweigh the cons with the pro. Why buy when you can have it all natural and next to free? Think of cheaper sources! Fruit markets, gardens and even the bush behind your house. The type of housing and the scope of your farm will ultimately determine your source and type of feeds. In that respect, contact me. Consultancy is not expensive.
Unless your snail farm is of the very extensive type, you will have to provide your snails with some or all the food they need for good development. This will require efforts on your part in growing or collecting snail food, or cash for buying it. Therefore, you must know what snails eat and what they need. Smaller snails will prefer juicer feed sources while adult snails can eat hardier feeds and will sometimes eat soil substrate to enrich its calcium source.
Calcium as I mentioned earlier is plentiful in some sources. I used to peel off the outside leaves of the cabbage until I read that the outer leaves have as much as 80% more calcium (40mg/kg and 70mg/kg) than the inside leaves. I also wait until the last minute to cut the cabbage, as exposure to the air causes loss of vitamin C. Not forgetting the calcium/magnesium balance needed in feeds as too much magnesium will prevent calcium absorption which creates growth problems. There are plenty secrets indeed!
This is just the start of a revolution.... join the train and know what G-Z holds..... Existing farmers are welcome to share ideas.
Snail farming is a slow but stable way of making money. I can however maximise your margins by integrating mixed organic farming into the mix.

NaijaTechGuy: The future is seemingly becoming more of a sci-fi movie. Nevertheless, each invention is taking a vital step in shaping our world. In this post I'll be listing out 7 innovations that will ultimately shape and revolutionize the future as we know it.
1. Artificial Intelligence Artificial Intelligence is one of the key innovation that'll change how we use our smartphones and computers. In ATMs of the future, you'll be able to withdraw cash by simply communicating verbally with the machine. Security will be top notch. I'm guessing it's going to be Iris scanning that'll will be the next level of security. Apart from use of A.I in banks it can basically do almost everything for you with IOT (Internet Of Things) .
These IOT devices can indefinitely change your life. You could ask the robots in your home to clean up the house, wash your clothes and do almost everything you request. It's just a matter of time. I do hope the Japanese scientists don't get to finish up the sex-robots else we'll be seeing another sexuality coming up soon - "The Robosexuals". It's weird enough that people are already doing things with animals and people of the same sex now we'll be seeing humans and machines. A.I is quite broad so I can't possibly cover everything under it. Oh well.. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
2. Virtual Reality Virtual reality is the next big thing. Companies like Samsung, HTC, Sony and Facebook are already competing to be the king of virtual reality in the world. Virtual reality will ultimately change how we watch movies and TV shows. Imagine you're watching a horror movie with a VR headset. I'm pretty sure that the level of horror would be at an almost realistic level unlike when you're just watching it on the TV screen. It'll also change gaming as well. The only thing I'm scared of is that VR maybe used as a weapon of war. You may just buy a war game to play without knowing that your actions are being replicated by a machine in one country. Every person you take down in the game is actually murdered in real life. Hopefully VR won't move towards that direction.
3. Chatbots Chatbots may be the end of customer care service. These bots are getting quite intelligent and smarter as everyday goes by. I've tried creating a Chatbot and trust me with the available tools, the bot was able to perform specific tasks and respond to certain queries.
Chatbots may replace customer care agents as they would probably be able to respond to queries very quickly without compromise. There'll be nothing like an employee replying badly to you when you call them on phone but this may actually turn out to be one of the worst innovations if it actually replaces humans. Our smartphones are already making us text more and talk less. Chatbots will even make us text more and talk to machines more.
4.Wearables There are already a couple of wearables in the market and so far they've been nothing less than amazing. There are wearables that let women know when they're going to be pregnant, wearables that help people monitor sleep, wearables that monitor your health status and more. I'd say wearables will impact the health sector more than any other sector of the world.
Ultimately wearables will be able to tell you when it's time to take your drugs and even suggest particular drugs based on the analysis it gets after checking your body condition and status. In terms of security, it may be used to track criminals. I'm already typing like I'm writing a sci-fi movie . Let's be real here, if I had told you in 1987 though I wasn't even existing by then.. That there'll be cars that drive themselves, you'll probably suggest that I go to a psychiatrist to get myself checked. So no matter how impossible this seems, it's very possible.
5. Drones
Drones are also one of the new tech trends. In future, Drones might help you cover entire events and programs saving you the cost of calling a photographer or camera man. The major problem with Drones I've seen so far is that the battery's don't last more than a couple of hours but before then I hope it'll be fixed. Drones can also help deliver products effectively. It could be delivering blood samples to doctors or even delivering products you ordered. Although, I'm quite skeptical about using drones when ordering from Jumia in the future.
I might just order a device to be delivered to Lekki and probably while the drone is flying over Ojuelegba one Agbero brings down the drone. It won't be funny seriously. Well I do hope the Drones can fly at a high altitude to avoid occurrences like that.
6. Web Assembly. Javascript has been constantly accused of making websites slow but Web assembly aims to change all that. Web Assembly is a faster way of rendering websites on browsers. WebAssembly is a highly touted effort that not only is set to run web apps in the browser at near-native speeds but also allow for other languages to be used for browser programming beyond Javascript WebAssembly provides fast load times for large codes and high performance. This will enable developers to bring functionality and experiences to the web that might have otherwise been gated on JavaScript. Since WebAssembly can be used as a library from JavaScript, JavaScript developers can utilize WebAssembly's performance through libraries and frameworks.
7. Live Streaming
Live streaming is already available and we've seen how it connects us with our favorite celebrities. Now imagine combining live streaming in VR. You would be able to be in the same place with the person live streaming the video in VR. There are a lot of possibilities once live streaming is involved. You could join a live conference from the comfort of your home, attend a live lecture from anywhere in the world. Live Streaming will ultimately change how we connect with people.
That's my top 7 list of things that'll change the future. Did I miss anything? please use the comment box. I'd love to know what you think

Lesgupnigeria: Marketing is one of the important things to consider when venturing into agribusiness.I have always say that you can sell any Agric products but at what price? Is the price profitable or not? I consider my market first before farming any crop;I asked myself questions before starting any venture, how do I sell my produce? Whom should I sell to?and at what price? which I believe you should ask yourself as well before starting. This is very important in any agribusiness venture. That's why I only specialise in crops that have good market for its uptake when produced. Different crop have different market chain and you should be well versed with in it.The way you will sell plantain is different from cassava or watermelon. Different crop with different market. Plantain as one of my favourite crop is highly lucrative if you are able to get your sales right. There are 2 ways you can sell your plantain in Nigeria. 1.Through the local markets- Mile12,ikorodu ,ketu markets e.t.c 2.Selling to companies processing flour and chips The first way is not only unreliable, its not all that profitable. You are going to be taken advantage of using the first way and this is majorly where 95% of farmers used to sell their plantain. This market is subjected to supply and demand; that is if you have many farmers bringing plantain to the market, the prices falls rapidly and vice versa. The only time the market price is high and not subjected to the law of demand and supply is during August of every year but the question is Am I going to wait till every August each year to make money?
The truth is that the processing companies have the capacity to process but the quality of the quantities of what they need is the challenge. Most plantain farmers are not producing the quality these companies need and the farmers are forced to sell at the local market where they are taken advantage of. The companies i partner with in selling my plantain demand from us to produce the plantain variety that have the characteristics of what they need. This is because most of the other varieties reduces the quality of their plantain flour.
Selling to the processing companies requires that you know what they need before producing it. Thats why I can be confident of ready made market for my plantain farm, those I am currently managing their farm and those that already have the Giant French horn variety on their farm.
I am also currently working with a plantain flour company of 20T/day capacity to get more local farmers to cultivate more of the plantain to improve their income This is the best way to sell profitably your plantain.

AutoReportNG: Prior to the question earlier raised here about Uber business and how to go about it, we decided to do a post The Cons and Pros of Uber Business in Nigeria.
For those of you who have no idea what UBER was, a quick update.
Uber works via an app which you download onto your smartphone and then input your credit card details.
You can book an Uber taxi at any time of the day or night via the app, which provides details as to how long it will take for the Uber to reach you. You can even watch the taxi coming towards you on a screen. And possibly one of the best parts about Uber is that you don’t need to have any cash on you to pay for the trip as it’s automatically deducted from your credit card via the app.
Now, anyone can own an Uber taxi and anyone can become an Uber taxi driver. It has effectively democratized taxi ownership, you could say. So the question is, should you invest in owning an Uber taxi or maybe even more than one?
We will highlight some PROs and CONs of the business to all who may have interest in the business. Uber has been in the news lately particularly in the area of drivers, kidnapping, robbery etc. we are not looking into that areas for now, we are concerned about the variability of the business and its profitability. UBER business is very profitable for drivers in Lagos and Abuja been the urban city. Lagos with a population of about 18million people and with the kind of transportation in the city, you are in for a good cash.
Requirements of Drivers
* Drivers Licence: this can be obtained from the FRSC. * Lagos state drivers institute ID card: this can be obtained from the Lagos State Drivers Institute. * Background check: this is carried out after the driver has been accepted and has completed the training. It costs ₦20,000 but can be paid in 5 installments of ₦4,000 each. It is a check Uber carries out with the police, which demonstrates that you have no criminal convictions or charges against your name, and is for the safety of passengers. * Contract agreement between the driver and the owner, this is if you are not the owner of the car you are driving.
In order to become an UberX driver, you must:
1. Have a newer, 4-door vehicle that passes any required state inspection, 2. You must be able to provide proof of insurance, 3. You must have a clean driving record, and 4. You must pass a criminal background check.
Once approved, you download the Uber Partner app to your Android or iPhone, turn it on, and start accepting riders.
Pros of uber driving
Ultimate flexibility An Uber driver can work as much or as little as they want. The phone/application can be turned on at any time to work and turned off just as eaily. Thus the driver creates their own schedule on the fly.
No boss overseeing Although there is a manager for the drivers and sometimes they do give suggestions or pass on critique, for the most part there is no boss saying what to do and when. A driver is on their own prerogative to go where they please when they please. A drivers boss at times can be more the passengers. A driver has to maintain a 4.5 or above rating to not be cut from driving. While riders can get bossy at times, the good thing is it's not long before they are dropped off. The driver rates the passengers as well.
Meeting new people There are people using Uber around town for all kinds of reasons. You might find there is a general demographic; but you will encounter all types of people of all ages using Uber to get around. Every person that gets in the drivers car creates an opportunity for social interaction.
Seeing new things As people go to different places for different reasons you will get to see neighborhoods you didn't know about, hear of new events you didn't know were going on, and become more aware of the city that you drive in.
Listening to music or news while you work Not all jobs allow a worker to listen to the stereo while they work. Although a driver should be conscious of what sounds might disturb a rider, generally listening to the stereo is admissible.
Free Time Nothing makes a family man more happy than having time for his wife and kids. With Uber, you can decide to work at any time you wish to work, you can visit your kids at school, your wife at her shop and even attend to family issues that may require your attention.
Disadvantages of Uber Driving
Work/fares can be slow when you want them to be busy There can be times when a driver wants to be taking fares and making money but the requets are low or there are too many drivers compared to passengers. It can be frustrating to want to work and be on-call but not be getting any.
An ineffective rating system Customers rate a driver 1 to 5 stars, and unfortunately for drivers, a 4 star average is failing and being terminated.
No interaction with fellow employees While it can be great to be working solo, at times a driver might want to communicate with other drivers. Uber doesn't provide a way for Drivers to interact.
Little recognition from the management/boss The higher ups at Uber don't do much to recognize good performance of their drivers. You either are doing fine, or you are getting cut. In addition an individual drivers opinion or request can be very minute to the management.
Wear and tear on car Drivers are responsible for all car expenses. This can add up to significant added depreciation and maintenance/repairs on a vehicle.
Seeing different characteristics of people Drunk people can also be totally obnoxious and unreasonable. A lot of people take transportation to avoid drinking and driving. Although we sincerely believe that is the right thing to do, being ridiculously belligerent is not. Take for example club goers at Quilox, and those night crawlers.

smackimorn: Google Maps users will soon be able to broadcast their movements to friends and family — the latest test of how much privacy people are willing to sacrifice in an era of rampant sharing.
The location-monitoring feature will begin rolling out Wednesday in an update to the Google Maps mobile app, which is already installed on most of the world's smartphones. It will also be available on personal computers.
Google believes the new tool will be a more convenient way for people to let someone know where they are without having to text or call them. The Mountain View, California, company has set up the controls so individuals can decide with whom they want to share their whereabouts and for how long — anywhere from a few minutes to indefinitely.
But location sharing in one of the world's most popular apps could cause friction in marriages and other relationships if one partner demands to know where the other is at all times. Similar tensions could arise if parents insist their teenagers turn on the location-sharing option before they go out.
It could also be turned into a way to stalk someone entangled in an abusive relationship, warned Ruth Glenn, executive director for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. "It has the potential to be another tool in an abuser's toolkit," she said.
Similar tracking is already available on other apps; Glympse, founded by former Microsoft employees, has offered this function for years. Although it isn't as wide-ranging, Apple also offers a tracking option called "Find My Friends" on its iPhone, iPad and Watch.
That's one of the reasons Google isn't expecting a lot of complaints about adding the option to Maps, especially since everyone can decide when to turn it on and who can monitor them.
"We don't feel like we are changing the game," said Jen Fitzpatrick, Google's vice president of maps.
Maps users will be able to activate the location-sharing feature by tapping a button near the search bar and then picking a person from their contact list to text with the information. If the recipient doesn't have the Google Maps app on their phone, it will text them a link to open the location on the map in a browser.
The settings also allow users to determine how long their movements can be tracked each time a location is shared. If no time limit is selected, Google will periodically send people email reminders that they're still sharing their location, a step that Glenn said may help anyone who didn't know an abusive partner was still following them.

Markfemi2: I'm not saying they are lost I mean their accent I served in Kogi Okun I toured kabba odo ere egbe I know a lot Your mad for saying 80-20 more like 99-1
^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ @Markfemi,
@ AdeizaPaul is Ebira from Kogi and he is absolutely correct about the over 80% of Ilorin indigenes voting in a referendum to join their kith and kin in the West. Of course he gave an average of 80-20 and it will be more than 90% based on my post just directly above this recent post of mine. He was actually referring to Ilorin.
Interestingly, Ebiras and Igalas and Idomas also have "Ade" as a prefix in their names just like Yorubas do. An Igala name is Adejo, just like Ebira has Adeiza.
9jakool: I also agree that Lokoja is an Oworo town, especially judging by how it's mainly sorrounded by other Oworo settlements. Lokoja is surrounded to the North and West by Oworo people and to the East by the Niger river. The only border that's neither an Oworo nor a geographical border is the Southern border which is Ebira.
The Igala claim to the Lokoja is futile as the Igala actually largely settled on the Eastern bank of the Niger. The closest areas to Lokoja across the Niger is occupied by Bassa-komo, Bassa-Nge, and Ebira Koto peoples in Bassa lga, which is the local government area directly east of Lokoja. There are no Igala lgas that border Lokoja lga at all.
I think the weakest claim to the city is the one by Hausas. The obvious reason is because Hausaland in Nigeria is limited to the core north and Lokoja does not form a contiguous border with Hausaland. Also the name Lokoja phonetically is odd in Hausa. In the Hausa language, the open "O" found in LOkOja is absent in Hausa language; the "O" in Hausa is more closed and similar to the "O" in Ocean.
Anyways, I believe the Okun can stand alone as a state. The population of Okunland in Kogi state as of now should be between 1-1.5 million. If you also include Okun(Yagba) towns in Kwara like Eruku and Koro as well as other Okun towns in Northeastern Ekiti state like Aiyede, Itapaji, etc and I think(i don't know) to an extent to the border parts of Akoko Ondo; then an inclusive Okun state can have a population that approaches 2 million. I think this is enough for a state. Size is also not a problem because as of now, the Okunland in Kogi alone is larger than Ekiti state and it's comparable in size to Osun state and that's not including the Okun territories outside of Kogi.
^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ I read from the historical books that Loke Oja [Lokoja] was purchased by the British for administrative use before 1900 and was the site where liberated African slaves where set free.
The reason why many Yoruba towns were incorporated into the old Northern Nigeria is because Sir George Goldie said that area and other parts of the Middle Belt were within his area of trading influence. Other British officials like the Governor of the Lagos Colony had suggested that Ilorin and other Yoruba towns should be brought to their kith and kin in the South but George Goldie said the his charter for the Royal Niger Company covered those areas of Yorubaland up to Jebba, Ilorin, Kabba, Lokoja, etc.
Parts of Ondo state used to be in Northern Nigeria, i.e., Akoko axis but people like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR fought to successfully bring those areas of Akoko to be administratively part of the Old Western Region.
The former substantive Governor General of the Gold Coast and the Governor of Nigeria in 1942 - Sir Allan Burns in his book which was very popular for history and administrative use entitled: "History of Nigeria" first published in 1929, clearly stated on Page 33, Chapter 3 [4th Edition - 1948, which I have in my library collection right now] that Ilorin [population: 47,000] is one of the top 10 largest Yoruba towns, and the 10 Yoruba towns are among the top 11 largest towns in Nigeria! Kano a Hausa town being among the 11 largest towns in Nigeria with a population of 89,000 or the 3rd largest after Ibadan [387,000] and Lagos Island [126,000].
There is no need to fight over the ownership of Ilorin as official British documents clearly indicate it is a Yoruba town and today Yoruba is the lingua franca. Even those 2 major lineages with Fulani ancestry in Ilorin are actually mixed Yoruba/Fulani like you have Hausa/Fulani or Bambara/Fulani in Mali, Northern Guinea, etc.
With the use of the British documents and with the aid of the UN, Ilorin, Jebba and indeed the entire 12 out of the 16 LGAs where the Yoruba own will become part of a new Republic when the time is ripe for the final peaceful split of Nigeria like the former Czechoslovakia and the former Soviet Union. No need to fight or kill anyone! It has to be an intellectual battle based on the side of local and international laws. Even those with the 2 so-called Fulani lineages with Yoruba ancestries are also cousins to the Yoruba so can be allowed to live peacefully with the original Ilorin Yoruba indigenes who constitute over 90% of the population in a new Republic of Western Nigeria (or some other name that will not give the Olugbo of Ugboland and his subjects in the oil and gas-rich Ilaje and Ese-Odo a headache like "Oodua" Republic) and a new flag!

0toobong: Most men admit to remaining curious as to what turns a woman on and what specific body parts require the most attention. It is not until several rounds of trial-and-error that men will begin to become aware of what turns their partner on in between the sheets. They then stick to the usual repertoire in the boudoir. Now, Canadian scientists have found a way to eliminate the process altogether by identifying the most erogenous female body parts, based on touch, pressure, and vibration. The recent study is published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
To investigate, the team of Canadian researchers at the University of Montreal recruited 30 women between the ages of 18 and 35. Using light touch, pressure, and vibration, they studied each woman’s clitoris, labia minora, vaginal and anal margins, the lateral breast, areola, and nipple. They were then compared to neutral areas on the body, such as the neck, forearm, and abdomen.
The women were asked to lay under a bed sheet while they stimulated various outer parts of the female body with scientific instruments. The researchers asked the participants to rank their sensitivity to light touch, pressure, and vibration stimulated by the instruments in each area. Stimulation was applied for 1.5 seconds. Then, the researchers waited for five seconds before they asked the women if they felt it.
A group of Canadian scientists tested the most erogenous female body parts to confirm once and for all which spots men should target in the bedroom |Photo courtesy of Shutterstock
The unsurprising findings confirmed our common knowledge and the scientists’ knowledge about the erogenous zones in the female anatomy. When it came to light touch, the neck, forearm, and vaginal margin were ranked the most sensitive area, and the areola was reported the least sensitive. The clitoris and nipple were the most sensitive when it came to pleasure, whereas the lateral breast and abdomen were the least. Lastly, the clitoris and nipple were found to be the most sensitive to vibration. The clitoris, expectedly, was the most sensitive to vibration compared to all the body parts.
Overall, the female genitals were found to be more sensitive to pressure and vibration compared to touch, which the scientists found “interesting” since people enjoy sex and intimacy gadgets, according to Time magazine. The Canadian scientists hope their findings will lead to more satisfying sexual experiences for women since their most erogenous zones are now scientifically proven. They also suggest this can provide useful information for doctors who perform breast augmentation and gender reassignment surgery.
Feet were once thought to have a sensual connection to the genitals due to the concentration of nerve endings in the sole and digits of the foot. However, in a 2013 study, neuroscientists have found it to be the least appealing part of the male and female anatomy when it comes to studying the link between sex and the brain.
So men, stop the toe sucking and licking, and use what scientists have confirmed. They have better equipped you to please your woman.

ChinenyeN: Marcelini, I'm going to tell you the same thing I told Chiwude. That is not how cultural diffusion works. You cannot place constraints on cultural diffusion. It doesn't work like that. Cultural diffusion only requires one thing to happen, that a cultural aspect, idea or practice is adopted from one community to the next. Once that adoption occurs, you have cultural diffusion. How that adoption took place is a separate matter.
Proximity does not define the limits of cultural diffusion. Interaction defines the limits of cultural diffusion, and the interaction need not be direct. For instance, southern Igbo-speaking communities wearing red "cheiftaincy" cap, despite having no direct interaction with Igala who introduced the cap to Nsukka, is an example of cultural diffusion.
Also, if you attempt to place proximity constraints on diffusion from Ijaw to the Imo hinterland, then you should logically place constraints going the opposite direction (from Imo hinterland to Ijaw). Meaning that you and Chiwude are in fact claiming the Ijaw to have learned owu second-hand from southern Igbo-speaking communities. But here's the problem... all the southern Igbo-speaking communities with historical Ijaw interaction credit the Ijaw with the introduction of owu. They do not credit the Isu, Oru East, Njaba, mbaitolu areas, nor do they credit themselves. This means that there is no basis with which to credit "Igbo".
The cultural context presented above invalidates the assertion by you and Chiwude that the Ijaw learned owu from the Igbo. To continue stating such in the face of available, contradictory evidence makes you obstinate to the true historical context of southern Nigeria and it also shows that you know little to nothing about the historical interactions between southern Igbo-speaking communities and their Ijaw-speaking counterparts.
This is one of my main issues with Igbo people. You all are just as bad as the Ijaw when it comes to this. The only difference is that you talk out of ignorance while Ijaw purposefully reauthors the entire story.
^^^^^^^^^ The RED chieftaincy cap was introduced to Nsukka by the Igala... very insightful!
Igalas are indigenous to Enugu and Anambra states as well so the red cap acculturation history is not strange.
King Eyo Honesty; as you can see from the photo, he wore two crowns to show that he was coronated by her majesty The queen of England and the Efik people.

biafranqueen: Obi Okosi I on his instalation, 1913. The Roman Catholic caused drastic discontinuities in Onitsha Kingship tradition, and produced deep schisms in Onitsha community. Obi Okosi refused to perform most of the required Installation rituals (especially “Going to Udo” and receiving the “King’s Ofo), and his very crown for his initial Emergence was provided by the RCM, who moved physically into his new palace grounds. The crown he wore here does hold traditional bird feathers, but also features a prominent fleur-des-lis; he does appear to be holding the traditional horsetail switch of mourning, Otinri. At that time, a very large number of Ndi-Onicha refused to give the new Obi his customary tribute, ridiculing him as “the Book (educational) King” (Eze Akukwo) and “Foreigners’ King” (Eze Oyibo).
robonski15: I had to seek help from other farmers, but every farm I went to I noticed they where all also running at loss.. That was when I decided heading to songhai farms at benin repurblic.. At songhai I learnt all what I was suppose to know concerning fish farming, from how to hatch( spawning) to management, feed formulation and what have u..
I came back full of wisdom and found out what I did and did not do for for the failure of my farm.. First off if you have never started hatching on your own,my brother u have not started yet..so I carefully built my own hatching ponds and with what I learnt I gave it a shot and it was successful, I nurtured them to fingerlings stage and I got over THIRTEEN THOUSAND FINGERLING at my first try..
I selected the best 4000 fingerlings for stocking for the next 5 months and sold the rest.. Dis is one aspect for the failure of fish farmers.. Most hatchery selects the best (shooters)for themselves and sell runts to farmers, And we constantly feed these runts without attaining a reasonable wieght thereby loosing our hard earned money and waste our precious time.. IDENTIFYING RUNTS AS FINGERLINGS
If u still buy fingerlings from other farms please my brother follow the guidelines below so your investment does not go down the drain..
1. Only buy fingerlings from recommended farms, especially those who specialise in the production of fingerlings and juvenile..
2. Runts head seems to be whitish in colour, their body is thinner and is not proportionate in size to the head, they are like unfed children..
3. Buy fingerlings or juveniles only from farms who use male and female fishes (brood stock) equal to or above 1.5kg..
