autojosh: The 2017 Mazda Vision Concept represents Mazda’s design vision for next-generation models; a more matured expression applies a Japanese aesthetic to achieve more elegant and premium styling. The exterior features a “one motion” form that exudes a sense of speed and the interior combines three-dimensional depth with a strong longitudinal axis to create a relaxed space that maintains a sense of speed.
It was unveiled at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show in Japan and the design will be used in upcoming models.. We used to love Mazda cars in Nigeria but something went wrong. Well, can this new design make Nigerians fall in love with Mazda again?
See more photos below and tell us what you feel about the ride. For me, that front fascia is everything.
Acidosis: I don't judge or rate people based on their level of classroom education.
Some YouTube Channels are way better than an entire public university in Nigeria.
^^^^^^^ You're absolutely correct!
Larry King, the iconic Sonny Okosun, Patrick Doyle etc, are some of the millions of people who never had Uni degrees but carved a nitch for themselves as professionals in their fields of endeavors.
Online education is also available for continuous education at no cost for the benefit of all via YouTube Education and more...
phintohlar: Why not, i know weda na me tell God when i dey come world say na ssce holder i wan marry. Sanyeri (a yoruba actor) isn't educated but married a unilag graduate.
^^^^^^ The guy went to school and has native intelligence.
The iconic Larry King of "Larry King Live" never went to a University, the iconic Sunny Okosuns never went beyond primary school but you would never know because of the quality of education then and he was very fluent in English with good diction.
I can give more examples of people who are primary school or secondary school graduates, but I'll stop here!
pocohantas: It's no news that our Nigerian men travel far and wide. In the course of their sojourns, love happens. I bring you 10 of such unions that stand out to me.
1)The Ethiopian Bride: A Nigerian man simply identified as Ajayi wedded his Ethiopian bride in the US. Aren't they lovely?
2) The one that couldn't wait to share the News: Social media went agog, when this young man shared pictures of him and his "oyibo" bride. The 32yrs old man from Ondo state was heard sharing the news over the phone, "Ba mi dupe luwo oluwa ooo.. Mo ti fe oyinbo, jesu seun" (Help me thank God, I've married a white).
3)The older the berry, the sweeter the juice: I've always heard older women tend to make better lovers. The word older must be subjective, as this young man took it a step further.
5)Love Knows No Religion. Yes, this was proven when Collins married his muslim girlfriend in Jasin District in Melaka, Malaysia. They had their family and friends in attendance. It was a simple ceremony.
6)Warri No Dey Carry Last . This Warri musician, Iwereboy Ama was quick to join the trend, Warri no dey carry last at all...ask Efe. His friends all look like they can't wait to hook an oyibo bride too.
7) A Foreign Investment. When former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomole married his Cape Verde wife, Iara Forte, Nigerians were quick to call him out. Dino Melaye went as far as attacking him for not patronising made-in-Nigeria-women.
The foreign wife who is better than most Naija girls: Adebiyi Muizz got married to Susan Smith in 2015. Recently he granted an interview, where he was reported saying she is better than most Nigerian girls. That must be based on experience.
10) The Nigerian man with a good foreign exchange value. It started with her sliding into his DM, now the rest is history. They are not yet married, but have been together for 6yrs and planning their wedding soon.
Techpaded: In collaboration with a software company, the Computer and Allied Product Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN), a trade association of Ikeja Computer Village market traders, has developed a web portal which enables the tracking of stolen phones.
All traders are expected to register every buyer who purchases any item from them (especially mobile phones) on the web portal.
Mr. Adeniyi Ojikutu, the CAPDAN President, said: “In the event that a mobile phone was stolen and returned to the market for sale, the trader could quickly log on to the portal to verify if the phone was stolen. If verified that it was a stolen phone, the trader would quickly alert the real owner and the police would be invited for necessary prosecution."
Spacelord360: Its all about upgrades, and recently the word goes with Google as they introduce a faster, more affordable system of searching the internet.
Who dont like it fast…..
We all know how it feels browsing with a slow device.
And the worst feeling browsing with low internet connection ( like Glo in my area ).
That feeling where you almost smash your device to the wall if that can at least cause a change, or go to sleep as early as a chicken.

The 'Black Magic' singer showed off the overused nightgown and a new set of undies from bfyne that can set a man soul on fire.

stayreal: If you truly know the history of Nigeria. Many people over the last 100 years immigrated from Sierre Leone, Liberia, Brazil to Lagos and their decendants today forgot their origin and today and are being classified as Yorubas through cultural assimilation. That is what will happen to some Igbos in the next decades as many will completely forget their origin and become Lagosians in which they will be called Yorubas.
^^^^^^^^^^^ @Stayreal
Those people who came back to Lagos Island or Abeokuta from Cuba, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Liberia and Sierra Leone are Yoruba people who were taken away as captives aboard slave ships. These people or their children came back home after the abolition of slavery before 1900 and after 1900.
The first Nigerian millionaire, Candido DaRocha was born in 1859 in Bahia, Salvador in Brazil to a father of Ijesa origin and also a Yoruba mother who were both taken into slavery in Brazil.
Esan DaRocha came back to Nigeria with his wife and 4 children who included Candido DaRocha. Several other Yoruba families also came back from Brazil and became very rich and influential in the Lagos Colony and in the Yoruba interior of Egba, Ijesa, Oyo, Ekiti where most of them came from originally.
The Alakija family also came back from Brazil but their patriarch dumped the Brazilian Surname and adopted the Yoruba family name of Alakija.
A few Jamaican railway engineers were brought by the British and they settled in the West Indian railway quarters in Yaba, Lagos. Mrs.Hilda Adefarasin is one of the children of the Jamaican railway engineers and she was a senior nurse of Jamaican origin who got married to Justice Adefarasin who was the Attorney General of Lagos State in the 1970s government of Brig. Gen. Mobolaji Johnson who was the first Governor of Lagos State. The Jamaican example above was an exception.
scholes0: Exactly. I remember when I used to view EQG’s wiki article and there was nothing like Igbo in it. Now some people have edited it and included Igbo there under the “others” category. I am not saying it is wrong though- but then, how true is it as well. Sketchy things will always look somehow sketchy- and to be sincere with you this looks sketchy.
Yorubas in Benin and Togo is well documented, Efiks in Cameroon is well documented, Hausa in Niger isn’t even a question- why is the Igbo in EQG one just being discussed IN 2017 if it is a long established fact?
What do you have to say about the aecond entry I posted from joshua project?
^^^^^^^ @Scholes0
The Joshua Project entry is MORE CREDIBLE than the so-called Wikipedia.
It is a fact that in the 1960s, a large number of Nigerians and other foreign nationals were deported from Equatorial Guinea and it affected many ethnic groups from Nigeria. Nigerian movie producer and icon, Zeb Ejiro's Isoko family from Delta State was one of them and he shared this in a Saturday Punch article this year(2017), and his family that was prosperous in Equatorial Guinea lost everything (cocoa farms etc) and had to relocate to Ajegunle, Lagos State.
If there are Ibos in that country, they went there as a result of migration in the post-1900 period. They are NOT indigenous to that country at all! Ibos are only truely indigenous to Nigeria regardless of the naturalisation in other countries.
Also during the slave trade, I read from credible historical materials/archives that the British Naval Squadrons actually escorted some intercepted slave schooners (ships) to discharge the rescued human cargo in Fernando Po or Freetown in Sierra Leone. An example was Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther who was rescued aboard a Portuguese slave ship off the coast of West Africa and liberated by the British Navy in Freetown.
These rescued Africans came from several ethnic groups with the Yoruba and Congolese/ Angola region producing the largest figures towards the 1850s.
ibibiofirstlady: The Kogi State Governor, Mr. Yahaya Bello and his wife, Mrs Aminat Bello, have earned more accolades from Nigerians than they would have from any election.
Hundreds of guests at the HAYAT Foundation Launch Dinner on October 4, 2017 were impressed at the State Executive and his pretty wife as they showed off their son, who is physically challenged and suffers from Cerebral Palsy. The Hayat Foundation is an initiative of the First Lady with the objective of addressing the needs of Special and other less privileged kids.
The First Family attracted the admiration of all as they doted on the boy who is a split image of his dad. All dressed in the same attire, the boy, who is on the wheel-chair was the cynosure of eyes throughout the duration of the event. Governor Bello also proved to be a romantic husband as he openly showered his wife with love which she responded to—they hugged, they kissed and held hands.
Present at the event, which was broadcast live to millions of Nigerians were, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, (who was absent and delivered her message via a video) Hon, Minister of Labour Chief Chris Ngige, Chief Dele Momodu Representative from Mrs Aisha Buhari, Representative from United Nation and other prominent Nigerians. Entertainers present were AY comedian, Timi Dakolo, and a host of others.
However, speaking in an interview, Aminat Bello encouraged parents with Special needs not to give up. According to her, no matter the challenges, the stigmatization and discrimination encountered, with a good education and adequate care for children with special needs, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Joshua project on its part says there are 36,000 Igbos in all Equatorial Guinea (Bioko plus the Mainland) in 2017, ranking fourth after Fang (545,000), Bubi/Fernandian (63,000), and Yoruba (72,000)

sarrki: The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday passed the bill which makes the teaching of Yoruba language compulsory in schools in the state into law.
The passage of the bill was sequel to the bill successfully scaling through the third reading on the floor of the House.
The bill, among others, makes the teaching of Yoruba language compulsory in all schools in the state, both in private and public schools, by including it as a core subject at all levels.
State-owned tertiary institutions are also mandated by it to incorporate the use of the language as a course unit into their General Nigeria Studies (GNS).
The bill indicates a fine of N500,000 for a corporate offender while any shool in the state which fails to comply with the law faces closure and a fine of N250,000.
The bill was finally passed on Thursday with the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, ordering the Clerk of the House, Mr Azeez Sanni, to send a clean draft copy of the bill to the state Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode for his assent.
^^^^^^^^^ Nice! But they should use multimedia strategies to teach students based on immersion technique. This is the main method used to teach French language successfully!
Nigerian gospel star, Benita Okojie who warmed her way into the heart of many at a tender age is heavily pregnant and has shared a shot of her growing bump on her social page.

NEHLIVE: A video making the rounds shows a young slim lady who stripped to her panties in front of a hotel in Abuja. She was said to have put on the act with the hope of embarrassing the client over money matters. Here are screenshots from the now viral Instagram video...
^^^^^ Later on she will present herself to a gullible man somewhere as a potential wife material... Men should carry out due diligence before marrying a new wife.
naptu2: Nigerian boogie. There's another song (by Jide Obi) that should be with these two, but I can't remember the name of that song.
I can still see the Gold de Kanterbrau mugs dancing.
Konquest might be interested in this.
^^^^^^^^^ @naptu2 Thanks for the YouTube links of Jide Obi and Kris Okotie. Kill Me With Love" is still the best song from Jide Obi in my opinion.
I just got to find out early today online that the iconic Bunny Mack passed on in London on 11th July, 2015. I was deeply stunned! "Let Me Love You" will remain evergreen in our hearts.
Also another inspirational musician of the 70s/early 80s by the name William Onyeabor who sang "When the Going is Smooth and Good" - his last music release in 1985, passed on in Enugu on 16th January, 2017!
Have a great weekend Naptu!
I'll keep following this thread and post any other iconic 70s/early 80s songs soon.
I'm happy to see how everyone's crying for the "common" tomato. Most people (wey get sense) will start preparing for next year by either farming, gardening, or preserving.
My first thread was on very cheap farming but here's another for preserving our darling tomato when it becomes cheap again.
With this method, one can store fresh tomato paste for over a year but guaranteed 1 year, that's if everything's done right.
What you need are 1. Tomato 2. Jam jar (it must be the sort you see in the pics....plastics won't work at all)
Step 1. Blend your tomato or take it where it's grinded in bulk (you don't have to squeeze the water out unless it's spoilt)
Step 2 Put the blended tomato in a pot (small or big depending on the amount blended). Boil the tomato till all it's water has evaporated and has become paste (try not to let it burn).
Step 3 Let it cool down. Scope some paste into a jam jar till it's filled up, then seal it properly with its cap.
Step 4 Put the sealed tomato paste in a pot of water till it's completely submerged. Allow the pot of water to reach boiling point, then leave to boil for 10-15 mins (don't worry...it won't break). Take them out of the pot and allow to cool. Put then in cartons and store in a cool dry place. No need for fridge. #Shikenan
PLEASE NOTE: 1. No matter the amount of jam jars you put in the pot of water, MAKE SURE THEY'RE COMPLETELY SUBMERGED BEFORE BOILING.
2. JAM JARS WHICH KNIVES WERE USED TO OPEN THEM WON'T WORK. Only normally opened jam jars would work because they're still air tight.
3.Once you open the jar, use the amount you need then refrigerate.
Feel free to ask questions.
^^^^^^ Nice post. Simple... but functional information.
cocolacec: Berlinda (Mwana) was done in 1984 by Grady Harrell. Not many folks will remember the guy but he was so cool back then. In the video ,his girlfriend turned down his proposal despite memories of good moments together.
Ishilove: Are vinyl albums still being sold? Wow! So do you have like a gramophone to play it on or something?
@Ishilove
My JVC Turntable from the 70s is not functioning again but I still have it.
To listen to those vinyl albums again, I'll have to buy a new one from either Amazon or eBay - and I will do just that. Some of these equipment can still be purchase online along with 60s/70s/80s vinyl albums.
Some of my vinyls have bad scratches on the surface and are due for replacement because they are classics like some of my 1970s Fela and Ofege albums.
Thanks to this thread and YouTube - we can still listen to some of the classic songs again without turntables in the meantime.
PS: I don't blame your dad for having Ofege among his favourites. It shows he has great taste in good music.
PPS: [1] Dapo Olumide [LATER Captain Dapo Olumide, a pilot] is the mixed race former MD of Aero Contrators which he joined in 1982, and Chief Executive Officer at Virgin Nigeria Airways. He is 3rd from the left in the 1st attached picture with afro hair cut.
[2] He is also the 4th from the left in the 2nd attached picture.
[3] The 3rd attached picture is Capt. Dapo Olumide as the Boss at Virgin Nigeria Airways.
Ishilove: I had no idea this guy is not a Nigerian
Yea... Bunny Mack was proudly Sierra Leonian but I also initially thought he was Nigerian. Anyhow Nigerians and Sierra Leonians almost sound alike when talking.

@naptu2 I'm filled with goose bumps and fond memories just listening to "Nobody Fails"! I didn't know that YouTube has these songs uploaded in the achives.
Ofege as a spirit for me will never die. I still have a 40 kobo [U.K. price of 50pence] November 1976, Vol. 71 Nigerian Edition copy of TRUST magazine with their pictures on the front cover which featured a story on how they were having problems with their Music Manager [Mr. Odion Iruobe]/ management at EMI Records over financial matters and they requested for a Range Rover which was not granted after they had mad a lot of money from album sales worth over N500,000 every year [The Nigerian Naira was stronger than the British Pound Sterling in 1976/77 based on the exchange rate].
Ofege Members: Berkley Jones, Dapo Olumide, Felix Inneh, Mike Meme, Melvin Ukachi, Olushoga Benson, Paul Alade
"Nobody Fails" was huge and I remember even as late as 1979/1980 the song with "Whizzy Ilabo" were still being played as if they were freshly made.
Despite being from Sierra Leone, Bunny Mack massively rocked the Nigerian airwaves in the very early 80s along with Kris Okotie and London-born Jide Obi who both finished from UNN. Bunny Mack and Kris Okotie even went on a nation-wide tour together.
Bunny Mack's "Let Me Love You" was massive. I couldn't get enough of it then.
I remember the hugely successful OFEGE [Dapo Olumide who was the former MD of Aero Contractors and his other School Boy Band members from St. Gregory's College, Obalende, Lagos ]. They released the massive albums "Try and Love" in 1973 and "Last of the Origins" in 1976.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Coincidentally, I have a Vinyl Record copy of The Chi-Lites in my music archives of the 70s and 80s. The songs of those days made a lot of sense. They remain evergreen.
