According to what is written on CIC's website, to get points for "two or more certificates", one of the certificates should be a three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree...
You finished work here babe, then over finished with the other post with evidence. Great stuff.

Yes! WES evaluated @Tolurigs, @Bimpsy99 and Gustalnov's National Diploma's certificates as "2 years diploma". @Beyunce evaluated her BSc and National Diploma's certificate also and she got points for two or more certificates (She got her COPR last year)
God bless you richly for this post and many others you've put out here. You're truly a Star, may you continue to Glitter.

Sadly, like Elfmann recently said, many of those that are supposed to benefit will just not read. Someone will still come 2/3 pages from now and ask this same question you've done much to compile evidence for.

Good we have evidence of four cases in one post.

Bro,

No need for specious argument, in maths if x is less than 1500 it is written as x<1500.

X is a variable from 1-1499.999999999999999. That being said that listening and reading are purely objective and standardised. Writing and speaking has input from humans and it is subject to subjectivity in appraisal.

More importantly, You don't even know if you got it right because 39 is still a band 9 so there is a possibility you got it right and I got it wrong. I don't know

What I know is ; I couldn't have missed more than 1 question and all this argument will not increase crs or land an ITA
The call for more input was solely to educate future test takers just in case a similar case reoccurs.

However, in reading, only 40 gives band 9 and only 39 gives band 8.5. So, for you to have scored 9, means you got all 40 questions right.

For talk2jt who scored 8.5, we are not sure which question she missed, could be the question in discussion or another. But if we have informed discussion on this type of question, others might just benefit as well.

I got a 9 and I wrote 1500. The signal here is less than and mostly answers in reading are copy and paste
Grammarians and mathematicians should comann put mouth in this matter o. If passage says less than X, then X should automatically be ruled out as maximum. My thought.

Hi guys,

For those that wrote the GT exam on 30th September 2017 and scored 9. I'm really curious about a particular question. The passage said they only ship parcels less than $1500 and the question asked what is the maximum amount that can be shipped. I wrote $1499. You know how they say you shouldn't change the text in the passage. I scored 8.5 so I don't know exactly which question I missed but I really wanna know the answer to that particular question. Thank you.
The question looks tricky but imagine someone else writing $1499.99 That's still technically less than 1500 and more than your choice. If the instruction was two words and or a number, i'd jejely go with Less Than $1500. If it's however one word or a number. $1499.99 will be my answer.

I know. I'm already set for another test. I was just surprised with my speaking result.
The speaking result has a way of surprising test takers.

On another case, you might consider leaving out practicing for few days but focus more on exam tips. Please take time to review tips shared on this thread. If your result is a true reflection of your ability (for the IELTS), you need a considerable effort in the remaining three sections. GlitteringStar among a host of others shared quite a number, her tips might be long to read but you will benefit a lot.

Then also try check out tips on Youtube and other sites mentioned, be careful for you will see a lot of videos, many might not be what you need but if you come by a good video, you will know. You might take clue for sites to visit from the tips shared.

I understand! Trust me, I do cos I've experienced it too. Try to relax and take your mind off it at least for today. Do not be discouraged. Stay focused on the end goal.

If you are very sure that you performed well, apply for a remark. But, I will also advise you to register for a new test as plan B. I wish you the best! smiley
Great advice here. One might be cash trapped to re-register but if you by chance (without forgetting preparation) get the desired score, from personal experience, I can tell you will forget the 68k. If the concern is POF isn't complete, trust that 68k will find its way back to POF when the time comes, if its however on a general case, the extra 68k expended would still not stop the journey.

10 weeks waiting on remark is very long and a daunting wait at that, that's if the remark comes back within the 10 weeks sef.

Please does anyone know how long this program will last?

I just got employed in a good company - where I get professional experiences related to my field of study with good pay. And something tells me I should grow a bit in this company before relocating. But then again, I don't know how long this is gonna last.

Anyone help please.
I believe you've received well thought out responses.

Pursue the PR while you're still at your job. Not sure one can tell how long it will take from the very first step to expiration of your visa if eventually stamped but to be conservative, say a year. That's you having one more year at your job to decide to leave or not. Even after that, like Hephgirl suggested, you can still do short landing and return to your job giving you more time to acquire your professional experience.

To tell how long the Express Entry will be open, that will be quite tasking.

Thanks for your response. I have both pension and gratuity accounts with the fund. I will leave the pension and focus on the gratuity which will be 100% available at exit.
Great, but please let your PFA provide a supporting letter to collaborate the bolded. You can use the pensions as well, we have known cases of those that used pension and have their PPR/CoPR by now.

Also, in case where you have multiple sources of POF. It's encouraged that you do a cover letter detailing all sources - this is to avoid the VO ignoring some of the POF as it was discussed earlier today. Three cases came to light.

Please will my gratuity and voluntary savings statement from my company pension trust fund suffice as POF ? Thanks in anticipation.
It is believed that up to 25% of closing balance on your pensions account statement will suffice as support POF. The account statement may be supported with a letter from your PFA starting that up to 25% will be available to you. There's a sample of that letter on this thread posted by Yimiton. You can search through the thread for that letter to have a better understanding.

LOL. Those figures are only for illustrative purposes cool cool cool

Thanks. So it's not problem if my pre and post ITA figures are different.

I forgot to mention that those investments are not in my name as I'm not physically present in Nigeria. So I really can't use them.
Now Hephgirl will yab the sh*t out of you for posing as OBO.

It's not a problem I suppose, and you don't really have to be present in Nigeria to have an account and those investment running in your name though. I recently had a Tbills initiated through email which was even sent to another branch than the account domiciled branch.

In effect, you do not have the 60k since the investments are not in your name and they can't be used. So, you've got to edit that figure to what you can present in your name.

Hi all,

I have a question regarding POF:

Back when I was filling the EE profile, when asked how much I will be bringing to Canada I answered 60k (my actual balance at the time). The issue is now I have invested two-third of the money (Tbill, Eurobond etc) and the cash at hand currently is about 20k (still way more than required 13k). Can I use my current balance as POF? If yes, wouldn't this constitute a misrepresentation?

Thanks
Hephgirl, come ann another OBO ooo grin

To the matter at hand, you can use your investments (the ones you mentioned) as POF. However, post ITA, you can also edit the amount to your comfortable zone. In all, if you intend to stick to the 20K you have now, please edit the amount to reflect 20k.

HI, WHEN WE REMOVE THE WORK EXPERIENCE POST -ITA , DO WE HAVE TO EXPLAIN WHY WE REMOVED ALL OF HIS WORK EXPERIENCE OR NO NEED FOR EXPLANATION AS LONG AS IT IS IN PERSONAL HISTORY.
You really don't need an explanation. PA's even remove without explaining, some replaced their NOC post ITA without explaining.
You may however do what you're comfortable with.

Just did a check now. His AOR was August 4, by then CAD had shot up to N285.51 according to
https://currencies.zone/historic/canadian-dollar/nigerian-naira/august-2017, so I guess it was the current rates at the time the case officer was reviewing his file that was used.
Great. Makes sense now, I missed the AOR part. The N284 used is settled.

Hello Everyone,
I am new to the Nairaland community.
I am the POST ITA stage.
I have a few problems. I hope someone will be kind enough to assist.

1. My husband who is not the main applicant put about 5 places he worked in previously Pre-ita. But Post ITA Would not be able to provide reference letters from two. One because he was a contract staff , and it was a government job they said they dont provide reference letters. The second one he worked for them from the u.k.. That is it was a phone and online job. Should he simply remove these jobs Post ITA, since he was not awarded any points for them.

2. He is currently self employed. what documents will he submit since he can't write himself a reference letter.

3. For proof of funds. We fixed 5m abt 3 weeks pre-ITA from different accounts ...that is we joined funds from account A +B+C ..for a family of three. How do we proof these funds are ours. because scanning the 3 statements over 6 months will be too much to upload. nd we realised 5m is not enough for family of 3. so we have also decided to include funds from a foreign account to make it 5.4 at current rate.

I am the principal applicant.
THANKING YOU ALL IN ADVANCE
1. Since you are the PA, him adding work experience gained outside Canada will add no point, so, you can remove the experience he has no reference letter for or even remove the entire work experience from the work history but state these work experience in his personal history.

2. Similar to 1 above, don't include his self employed work in the work history but state it in personal history.

3. You might want to reconsider to scan all 3 statements, best you cover all loose ends then submit and be worried throughout your application. We've read a case of an applicant who submitted over 70 pages for POF. However, best you also do a cover letter stating what amount is coming from which account and total the funds in your letter. You might also want to top that N5.4m a bit just to have some form of coverage against forex fluctuations and in case the required amount for your family size is topped. N5.4m seems like the required amount at present.

Modified:
3. Do you mean the fix deposit is in one account but you collected money from three accounts? If yes, then just print account statement for the account where you did the fixed deposit. Attach your fix deposit certificate as well.

Hi Nozzel,

I join others in saying you raise a CSE uploading your updated POF as soon as possible. You can also do them a calculation as suggested by Tollu.

To the other issue that caught my attention, I tried checking rate to see if I’d get an idea of what rate they use, maybe close to what we get on Oanda/XE. Going by N1.3 equating to CAD4594, that’s them saying N284 to a CAD! XE’s rate for July 11 surprisingly is N244 to a CAD. Where N284 come take enter? The N284 used seems more like current rate, do you by chance have/know the rate you used when you submitted? Cause I find it hard to believe 284 applies as far back as July.

To All, if it’s present rate used. Do we then assume POF is not locked as at date of submission? It is a scary something oo.
