Blyss: The problem with temps is that they usually eventually turn into more slums, and obviously the governor is trying to avoid such taking place, so the real issue is that these people need to return to their own states and villages and the gov. should possibly provide the means for that to take place. Why is no one seeing nutyn wrong in a govt waking up one day & sending a bulldozer straight to a slum without prior notice nor adequate plans for the relocation of those to be affected? Of course they wnt matter now, but wen it comes to solicit for their votes they'll surely matter. |

my only regrets so far frm d comments i've seen so far on this thread are frm those screaming 'go to your village'.these people u r asking to go to their villages are actually being chased out from their village but because we all already have that mentality that only aliens stay in slums in lagos, it dsnt matter hw they get treated. a responsible government does not jst go demolishing settlements without notification or even b4 relocating or compensating them.i for one dnt condone slums but for all it mataz those guys are humans & nt animals. |
Omo_Tier1: I hope you watched the Olympics in London on your screen and you probably was shouting high heaven when Usain bolt bolted away in that final? Do you know how many people were evicted for that Olympic park to be built? Those that couldn't meet the compensation requirement were relocated soonest to much less desirable place because the government wanted to rejuvenate that part of East London using the Olympic as a trigger. From the much i've gathered, there were no alternatives given to them nor relocation, neither were they given prior notice b4 the demolition which is my point. That is why the group SERAP(not sure i got the name right) is suing d govt on their behalf.i actually saw the group's press briefing on channels y'day. |
GARRI (x7):its easy to say that when its nt u dt is in their position. If you made any research about the area in question or its people, you wld have known that the people being displaced are traditional lagosians who wia initially relocated to this present area when the FG took over their initial settlement to build the national theatre. Now i ask u, which village do u want them to go to? Why are we overtly insensitive to the plight of others in this country? These people in question were NOT even given notice b4 there settlement were demolished.during d press conference whch SERAP or so did, a young man said his admission letter & his travel docs wia all lost there as he never knew b4 hand of the demolision.dont say its good because u were nt affected, tomorrow it might get to u. |
ypzilanti: Dear President: Next stop, Borno.jst cldnt help laughng @ dis |
any other thing except accepting that the security was not up to the task is acceptable i guess. What happened to all those RRS guys that speed about in pairs on bikes, shldnt a place as strategic as LASU have some of them around there? I bet they are only good in pursuing traffic offenders that wld yield money. Oga BRF lets blame the gun makers & d bullet makers too, after that we should ban vehicles & houses(kidnappers use those too) |
Demdem:Thanx but no thanx. change is constant & should be embraced by all but next time my dear try adding 'positive change' to that cos you cant pour same wine in a new bottle & expect a change in taste. Till apc presents their candidates, i'ld restrain from further discussions on this with you lest u brand me a hater & bigot for daring to engage you. |
Demdem: and is the desire to grab power away from the killer party not a good deed that should be supported by all sane minds? am sure u are impressed with their acheivements so far since 1999Going by ur theory, one should accept a wolf in sheep's clothing after all it used to be a wolf & not anymore right? I'ld rather keep enduring with the devils that have already unmasked themselves in the pdp than gamble with some power hungry 'angels' that have been running from party to party just to gain that power, cos their own betrayal wld be worse felt. |
Similarly, human rights activist and Chairman, Egalitarian Mission of Africa, Mr. Kayode Ajulo, also described the formation of the APC as a “marriage of strange bedfellows”, which would definitely fail. Ajulo, in an interview with journalists in Akure, alleged that the interest of the promoters of the merger was not broad-based. He said, “They were in the merger only to wrestle power from the incumbent President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and return it to the North. “No merger has succeeded in the history of Nigerian politics because the past exercises were not based on ideology; they were meant to pursue a specific agenda at a particular time but fizzled away whenever it was not realisable.” He said the fact that the current effort was not targeted at achieving a common goal made it more complicated. He, therefore, predicted that it would not last. He recalled the proposed effort made during preparation for the last presidential election that produced Jonathan. Ajulo said attempts made by the Congress for Political Change and the Action Congress of Nigeria failed because of individual interests. Just what i've always maintained. Only a minute few of our politicians have/pursue ideologies, they only run after selfish dreams in their quest for power.hope rochas will remember this statement when he'll be denied the position he's been running after in APC which i believe he will be. Atiku once had regrets for his statements wen he was in ACN |
alexleo: If your brain works well you should know that what we ve been saying is that some of your practices are ungodly, sinful and misleading. If your brain is working well you should ve known that its the same reason that i wrote here that could have made pope to resign so as to have a genuine reconciliation with God in order to make heaven.( My thougts as i said). Stop being foolish with this your catholic defence. It wont help you (if you truly desire to make heaven).and if your brain really works well as you claim, you should've known that u didnt make a single sense from the trash u dumped here all in an attempt to open a thread. guess u've been to hell b4 & back which explains how you got to know the requirements for one making hell fire. & whateva happened to 'don't judge, especially annointed men of God' mr na me holy pass others? Deluded fellow |
fkaz: @op GGT is not by force, if any governor later realise that, GGT has no economic important to it citizen.labaran shld look somewhere else instead of crying of betryal. D article yet made it clearer that it is nt by force, as any governor can opt out. What it doesnt support is that same governor should not blackmail the tour as 'ill conceived' & d likes when the same governor was consenting party to the tour ab-initio. |
Its very painful when some supposedly 'respected' journalists make themselves willing tools in the hands of some biz men for some businesses gone sour. It doesnt require a genuis to know that this article is about wale babalakin & the writer knowing nigerians fully well had to lace it up with tribal thorns so he can win enough sympathisers to their side. babalakin is having probs with the min of wrks, he's havng probs with efcc, he's hvng probs with UK gvt, yet the writer singled out the aviation ministry cos its headed by an igbo & he knows anything ethnic can sell easily in nigeria(wonder if he'd tried saying the UK gvt is on an ethnic war against the yorubas how far that would have gone). My only pain is the few who decided to tow this line & have been screaming YES more than the writer, goes ahead to show how irredeemable most of us are. Shame on dele, & shame on the few who are solidly behind him for this thrash spewn hia. |
Mazi_Omenuko: Izukwu is rooting for the RSM: that's cool.'m rooting for the camp commandant(but it won't be funny oo). Wonder why u keep gettng caught @ the wrong places by the wrong persons(hope u've not forgotten the chapel issue) |
Mazi_Omenuko: Any other guess? Who is rooting for the platoon commandant himself?i can see u don't like urself one bit. hope d weird one doesnt end up loosing his most prized possesion; his joystick. |
@OP; in as much as ur story is one sided but i myt be able to deduce some things from it. Just maybe owing to the fact that he was once badly hurt in d past myt explain he's lack of trust & insecurity which he's being exhibiting towards u & truly, u have not being helpng issues. Ur puttng off ur fone makes him gt on his toes d more & arouses more suspicion from him as he'll see dt as an act of some1 tryng desperately to kip some thngs secret. As for the two of u, u may have to act more transparently if U guys r 2 wrk if nt, u myt as well take a bow nw cos frm d way i c it, d bulk of d sacrifice is left on u, he myt come arnd but it will take tym so if u dnt hve sch tym, beta u move on now. |
Let me get this straight, u kept ur pole dance/lap dance/n.ude dance (or wateva u choose to call it) a secret from him & wen he does bump into u, u want an apology from him? Just how far are u willing to kip acting this funny? |
meteorxtra: @kross thank u jare..funny the way pple just comment at times too many shallow pple and reading nl from nokia 3310 mtcheww...it was noted that he declared what he was carrying..where was it written it was confirmed he stole it..kettle call pot black nonsenseMy bro, that is why we'ld continue experiencing the 'aluu' treatment cos our people are only good in joining the chorus without even bothering to find out what it is actually about. do u think this respectable prof will tow the line of lawfullness next tym after this much disgrace? I dnt think so. |
some people just comment on issues based on hear say without being objective or even applying intelligence.was he really caught? Someone who is working with the private sector and is going for a private biz, acts as the law requires of him and declares the amount of money he's carrying on him only for some cheap popularity seeker to come tell journalists he was referred to efcc cos of the amount involved. From wia i come from, a thief on the run cannot willingly come present himself to the authorities as one. For clarity sake & for the sake of those who dnt understand wat they've read, the prof is not an academic he's a director in a private O&G coy & he's bn dia for yrs. A clear conscience fears no accusation & dt xplains y he declared his cash as required by the law. Those looting us are looting us blue black & we r hia tryng to pull down the innocent & genuine few, Grow up peeps |
@OP, to think that ur greed(yes! It was ur greed, cos for every scam or fraud, a party must exhibit greed for it to occur) placed u in this position and u're still claiming smart is pathetic. As smart as u claim, someone used bulk sms to send u an sms with customsng id, sent u an email with a yahoo account yet u were not smart enough to knw it was scam, rather u showed how high ur IQ & smartness is by paying him 100k to check his authenticity & then withholding ur house address, wat a dumb way to play detective. You even went ahead to slander seun & NL as if it was them that referred u to him. Now Anybody who doesn't sympathise with u is a crew member of d scam squad, i pity ur sorry self, plz go lick ur wound alone. If u really have a case, u can find ur way to the police station asides that keep whining. |
~Bluetooth:For a long time 've really tried to keep away from the tribal & religous wars being perpetuated on this forum but this ur senseless post was the last straw that broke that silence for me. As daft as u are, u couldnt react to the verifiable facts that the COAS used in answering the issues at hand, including 3 people being promoted from same state not even geopolitical zone(i guess federal character should be raised as long as it benefits only some 'born to rule few') nor did u read wen he was made to serve under his junior(that one is also acceptable as long as he is an igbo, i suppose), what the hell is wrong with ur grey matter or hve they all bn usurped by ur bigotry? Plz i'ld rather u act maturedly when issues like this is being raised & don't go around posting jst for the sake of having access to the internet. Thanks |
in other words, the great prophet is hinting his congregation that he'll gladly receive such gift if they so want to give. The truth is that men of God had long lost the real calling of their work. They've long ceased being missionaries & now pride themselves as shepherds who luks afta d already converted sheep. Now i ask myself, if the early missionaries that brought religion to us & even lived with us, despite d huge cultural & religous barriers that existed then(some lost their lives even in the process) had waited till they were given the gifts of PJs, guess we'll b strtng nw 2 tlk abt religion.so plz i'ld luv 2 knw incase of nxt tym, hw exactly PJs would aid in spreading the gospel(xcpt mayb d gospel of prosperity whch is what many of them preach now) |
Mazi_Omenuko: :'ve always being an ardent follower, right from the previous diary to this one but i guess u had 2 burst my stealth mode. Thanks for always making people think 'm crazy when i laugh out loud whilst reading ur stories in their midst, u've got some good talent. |
and some people still see this as a tribal issue, in their words;'ibo people and pride & luv for money'. If keshi is igbo, i cnt be more proud of him for this singular act, when shuaibu was twice dealt the sack blow after his efforts he couldn't do nutyn about it & nigerians with their ever existent amnesia choose to forget.keshi simply does not want such treatment & like some one said, there are a million others that can take over from him, just lets pray we dont have to wait for 160years this time to near the trophy again.some idiot even went on to say that NFF's booking of return ticket before match was right to cut down cost & expenses of their continued stay when they had nutyn more doing there, & i pose this question to that idiot; why are the eagles still in SA since sunday's finals? What happened to cutting expenses? When it happens to others, its normal in nigeria, but when it happens to our kit & kin its victimization.Even if keshi lost this afcon i wldnt hve wanted more from him than to continue, SAF is being honoured today as one of the best the world over and no one asked how long he tried in manchester utd before finally gettng it right. Bunch of unreasonable fellows in abundance in NL |
imarena: Dear Mr Stephen Keshi- To whom BRAIN is given, COMMON SENSE is expected!mehn! u just took ma move |
it pains me to the marrows when i read some very sorry responses people post here. What has pride get to do with this? Even if he's proud he rightly earned it! How long did nigeria wait for this trophy and how many coaches did they try? They finally get someone and get to type his dismissal letter even when he's still in the competition and actually went ahead to book their return flight and you expect him to 'party' with u? Does anyone here even know the extent that move would have gone to demoralise the players? NFF wanted some1 to build a team yet he wont be given the space. One thing i like about the man is his boldness, he should leave and never to come back, wheneva & if ever nigeria wants to build a team we'll know. Lest i forget, nigeria is not worth being patriotic, cos there is definitely nutyn to show for it; u'ld either be labelled religous or ethnic bigot, or even outrightly called unqualified. Project nigeria is a failed one! |
Abdul Adam56: His tribe pls?& i'm supposed to believe that you are actually a human being and not a cow? Imbeciles like you only affirms the truth that project nigeria is irredeemable. Smh |
@ OP; i can only advise u to quit ur job if you can secure another one soon or better still, if u can be self employed, & like someone rightly pointed out, the moment you go to SA with him, you've nailed ur own coffin cos i dont see you ever getting out of the web of things that will follow, cos u might even loose ur own bf & will also brk his family even if nutyn happened btwn u guys there.speaking with his wife as someone suggested might only lead to u clearing urself b4 her, but can bring perpetual animosity from ur boss & u'll definitely end up being victimised by him or even being unfairly dismissed in which case a honorable resignation would have done. As for me, i'ld suggest u remain there, u can even go buy an engagement ring and put on & tell him u & ur bf are already on your marriage plans(might be a perfect reason to avoid the SA trip to enable marriage plans) & i think its high time mr bf gts to knw(that is if he's d understanding type, so he can help u scheme beta).Whicheva path u choose to take, just make sure u apply wisdom. |
manny4life: Ok, if your argument is strictly the economics part of it, you perhaps should have said that, rather I thought you were saying the engineering is impossible that is why I called the three gorges dam. I get the economics part and neither was a saying they should embark on it, I was ONLY disputing claims that Onitsa is a mere river port and doesn't have capacity. I mean, people have stated that in the case Nigeria splits, they have mocked us that we're landlocked, which in reality that's incorrect.my broda, nutyn stands in the way of a determined man. In today's world, there is nothing like 'landlocked'. There are a lot of man made lakes, islands & wat have u, d only difference is the increased cost of doing so. Whoeva raises such a numb reason belongs to the dark ages. |
Lord Naya: @Kross, the river niger was planned to be dredge to a depht of 2.5 meters but the depht of the river in anambra state ranges from 6 to 9 meters before it was dredge. NIWA only dredge some problem areas and remove the water hycient and other river weeds. The oguta lake was not dredged because it dephts already ranges from 7 to 12 metres without it being dredged. The strategic position of Oguta port to the various oil fields and flowstations in imo state and rivers state, the giant $3.5 billion Shell/Chevron gas project assa, Owel and other LPG projects, Oguta bluelake of treasure tourist resort,Imo Power plant, the Big Imo Palm plantation complex with a proposed fertilizer plant and rich agricultural harvest(due to that area being the food basket of Imo state) would trigger up an economic boom and development of Imo state and Nigeria.tnx bro but any port with a draft of less than 10meters, can not handle any vessel of 200m, an average panamax vessel, requires draft of 12m and above. If u are to equate that to the sizes of vessels that the O& G industry uses in transportng products, then u'ld see that not all vessel sizes will be entertained which is why i said the port can act as a hub/gateway with lighter vessels taking cargoes to the deep sea ports for the 'bigger' ones that cant access the river channel |
@Manny4life; My brother i've watched enough of 'modern marvels' to understand where you are looking at(the likes of the panama canal that uses a lock system), don't get me wrong, i am not saying a river port can not entertain, ocean going vessels(port of montreal canada is a river port but on another level altogether with its attendant traffic volume; one of the highest world wide), like wise the ones in the states u cited, & even the ones along the yangtze river in china. The issue is that we can not embark on such a project operating an import based economy. Study the geography of the ports u cited and notice a common trend, there are a lot of bulk cargoes being moved in the area(from mines and the likes). the amount used in constructing the panama canal is nothing compared to the cost they use in maintaining it, but owing to the traffic that uses it, the costs are covered. Get ma drift bro |
Lord Naya: @Kross; The concluded business study of the port by belgium professionals and facilitated by the world bank, declared the port as very viable. As the port is performing some special services to importers who can't wait for the port to be concessioned.I can tell you that we are going to have a long list of intrested biders for the port. The Oguta port is also nearing completion and is expected to have a beehive of activities once it is completed.I never said it is not viable, i only said its not viable in reaction to the fellow who said that the channels could be dredged to allow for ocean going vessels. On the other hand, i did a study on the economic potentials of that river port as part of my MSc work and it myt interest you to know that anambra state is second only to lagos in the volume of imported cargoes destinations(NPA records), as a river port, it has more than enuf untapped potentials but thats just it, it cant act as a sea port, it cnt entertain ocean goin vessels. |
