Op, I can't answer all your questions, but here is my take.

1. Ask him about marriage, don't assume anything. You know him better, so you know how to go about it...You could ask him, "What's your take on marriage in general? How many kids would you like to have in future?..." Depending on how he responds, you'll know the rest.

2. Forget about your sister's concern that the guy does not smile. Suppose he marries you, you are the one that will live with him, not your sister. As long as you are ok with his "non-smiling" nature, go on... Your sister sh'd worry about bigger things like: The guy never compromises. He uses begging/crying to get what he wants from you.

3. You say he likes begging and crying when you don't agree with what he wants. Hmm..lemme think
a) We all have our flaws, no one is perfect. Maybe that is his weakness...on second thought
b) Could it be manipulation or emotional blackmail? He knows you don't like making him mad, maybe he does that to make you change your mind.

A guy almost hit her...a year later they met. They became friends, then he asked her to be his girlfriend. He's been buying her gifts ang giving her money.

When her grandma passed away, he gave her 300, 000 because her parents were not in a position to meet burial expenses. He later opened a supermarket for her with 6 staff, but he pays them. He bought her a car. She slept in his house once, but he didn't ask for s*x.

He has not mentioned marriage...Op's sister told her not to marry the man because he never smiles.

All these happened/is happening in Port Harcourt.

OP, Your man is married. His wife is probably in another city or abroad. The fact that his family knows you doesn't mean he can't get "some" when his wife is away.

He's threatening you because he knows if you leave, he will not be gettting regular s*x, and maybe the thought of you doing it with another man is killing him.

If he really loved you, as you say, he'd at least find a way of pleasing you. He could even tell you to do a court marriage, where you just sign papers.

I can't say that I know how or what you feel but I still maintain my stance that leaving him is a bad idea cuz many people are going through worst problems but yours is still solvable.Talk seriously with him on the issue and respect his opinion as well,only then can a solution be carved out.what you want might not be as difficult as you you think,it's just the way you are going about it.

Leaving him is a good idea. The guy has given his stand on the issue. At 38 he's already made up his mind. The 2 of them have different views about marrige. I think if he ended up marrying her (which he won't do), she would be miserable.

It's because of the numerous hazards that men face. Most soldiers in Afganistan, Iraq are men...talk of UN peacekeepers in Congo...

Even the militia like M23 in Congo, LRA in Uganda, the ISIS in Middle East are mostly men.

It's not wise to 'trap' a man with pregnancy...I pity you because if he was not there for you when you were alone he's not going to be there for the baby.

Op moral lessons 2&3 are very good.

Lesson 1 is partly incorrect. Sometimes getting someone to listen to you is therapeutic (am not talking about gossip). It reduces the pain because you think that atleast there's someone that understands you.

Op did you want him to confront the girl while still angry? He could do something crazy...Imagine if he wailed/cried infront of you for a whole hour, what would he have had done had he confronted the girl?

I don't blame them. These militants attack their country then come to hide in this town. If Chad attacks them inside Nigeria and distabilizes them, atleast they'll stop killing innocent civilians.
