please I need advice from all parents and Educators and parents on Nairanland. today I just realized my 3years old son cant even read Letters A to F talk less of A to Z but can read Figure 1 to 10, I am seriously worried.
I don't stay at home except for weekends as I am working outside my state, but due to the curfew I find my way back home yesterday so I was able to discover this problem in the early hours of today.
I know the mother is trying cos I have seen different live videos where she was teaching him and working on his assignment, most times I pity the boy so much because of the beating from his mum alone makes me sick but I can't really complain since I know is for his own good and I know how stressful it is for a mother with 2 kids to manage her time and all that....
I called his teacher immediately and she told me my son will be going to Nursery class when the present term is over due to his age, sadly she didn't say things I expect to hear from her so I told her I will visit the school once the curfew is over, I need explanation, is private school that bad these days ? my son can't even write 2 and 3
I have bought Video CD, bought many play book materials containing letters and figures displayed boldly, I bought counting and so on when he was 2 years so i expect a better result by now.
pls sir and ma, I need help on how to guide this boy to learn better, what should I do and how should I go about it.
Note: any time I am home, I always go through his books, assignments and read his school rhymes for him.
pls Help

Mbdovey: So, I got talking with a senior friend about challenges most new migrat faced in Canada and US. After several discussion, this got my attention. According to her, it's very difficult to get married or come in contact with a prospective life partner. As most Nigerian's single ladies are over age but no husband. How true is the above statement? Are there most Nigerian's single ladies than single men? As a single Nigerian in Canada or US, is it really difficult finding a life partner (a Nigerian partner to be precise)?
Is it adviseable to get married to a Nigerian partner before going, what if the marriage fail due to long distance?
What's the possibility of seeing more black (Nigerians) to mingle?
What part has large number of Nigerians?
Because it's good to plan every aspect of one's life.

Pope22: It was a black Monday when 6 armed men stormed a young guy's barbing saloon in Amugu, Nsukka local Enugu state close to University of Nigeria, Nsukka and killed him. His name is Kelechi Onah from Owerre Ezeorba in Udenu local government, Enugu state.
An eye witnesses said about 6 strange men were seen loitering with 2 bikes around the area between the hours of 3-4pm on Monday 15th June 2020. Nobody knew they were assassins who were busy monitoring the area to know when to strike. It was after some minutes they entered the guy's shop and shot the guy at close range while barbing one of the assassins who pretended to come to barb his hair, mounted their bikes and zoomed off including the one he was barbing who also mounted the bike with them.
Thank God for the women who were around the shop that heard the gun shot and also saw when the men zoomed off and started shouting and alerted some men around who started chasing them. The armed assassins on noticing that the men were catching up on them, dropped their bikes and ran in different directions. Police was alerted as they were chasing the assassins and with the help of the Police, they were able to catch one of them who happened to be the one he was barbing with blood on all over his shirt. He was taken to the Police station and later confessed to be one of the assassins.
The case has been transfered to Enugu for further investigation on the order of Udenu local government chairman..Hon. Solomon Onah
Where was your country or your great grandfather country? Everyone in this country except the tribal people came from somewhere not long ago and get naturalized. Do you know that over 10 Million red Indians, the original owner of the country called America were killed by the America founding fathers to lord over this land. Read about your history and stop looking stupid over your ignorance.
how many Nigerians has been killed by the police in united state ?

oshozondii: COMMUNITY POLICING TAKES OFF IN LAGOS, AS GOVERNOR @jidesanwoolu INAUGURATES OPERATIONS TEAMS
… Gov: ‘Initiative’ll Address Shortcomings Of Existing Policing Model’
… New Approach To Shift Focus To Proactive Law Enforcement, Says IGP
Lagos State has taken an audacious step towards improving security in all communities across the State, with the inauguration of State Community Policing Advisory Committee (SCPAC) and its operations arm, State Community Policing Committee (SCPC).
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, inaugurated members of the two committees at a ceremony held at the State House in Alausa, pointing out that the event marked a turning point in the Government’s deliberate effort to re-strategise and rethink the security architecture using Community Policing Initiative as proposed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Muhammed Abubakar Adamu. @ElkanaBala @PoliceNG
The security initiative, the Governor said, is long overdue, adding that the reform is being implemented with the objective to address inadequacies of the current policing model, which, he said, had failed to engage members of local communities and neighbourhoods in knowledge sharing and intelligence gathering that could help in nipping crimes in the bud.
SCPAC, which is co-chaired by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, and chairman of Council of Obas and Chiefs in Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, will be the custodian of the initiative and it is to maintain highest level of oversight on community policing in the State.
SCPAC, on the other hand, will be responsible for managing and coordinating the State-level operations of the community policing programme, and it will, among other functions, help identify security threats in communities and work with the police and the Community Police Officers (CPOs) in evolving appropriate strategies for addressing them.
I met him while I was serving, he was nice and the only friend I had, I served in a village. While we were serving he doesn’t give me much, I practically kinda fed him cause he was always in my place. He had a roommate and I didn’t. Before he gives me any money we always had issues, not like he doesn’t hv to give. He just doesn’t want to. I don’t even ask for much.
After service we continued dating, he had no job so I told him to get a teaching job he said never ever, he rather follow he’s friends up and down , I kept quite watching what his plans maybe, I hv never asked him for a dim since we finished service mid last year, got a teaching job so taking care of myself.
My birthday would be coming up, his just passed, I told him that I would be expecting some cash on my birthday. We talked today and he’s telling me he spent all he’s money for he’s birthday, that if money comes he will send but right now he has no money, placing me on the probability table, so I said u couldn’t keep the one u would send me, he said people were buying drinks and buying drinks and he couldn’t tell them to stop. Am like are u serious ? I had to remind him that my birthday is few days away and he started saying he won’t be able to send anything. I told him without him doing the needful that there is no us.
Am tired, he has no vision, No focus , no aim , he depends on his friends and it's annoying. I think about he’s future more than he does , he’s always in the present. He’s making me feel like a bad person that he would make it. I hope he makes it but the relationship is so draining and I am 100% faithful to someone with no sense of reasoning. He’s Saying I am dating someone that’s why I want to leave him. He isn’t even addressing the issue we hv on ground .
Thoughts??
go get urself a job and be independent , a boyfriend is not ATM. I hate to hear word stingy,
It all started Last week When a neighbor next to my apartment died without nobody noticing for 2 days until she started smelling. We didn't actually suspect that it was from her room until someone came looking for her because she wasn't answering her phone, which was still ringing inside and the door was locked from the inside that was how we knew she was dead, already swollen because the last time we saw was Sunday night and we didn't know untill Tuesday that she was dead.
All this happened last week. Later that Tueday family and friends with police came to evacuate her corpse. No foul play or any struggle seems she died in her sleep. She was young and a very playful lady and lively. She is 36 years old single mother and she lives.
So the haunting started 2 days later. The First one happened around 2am, My girlfriend said she saw someone looking like standing by the door outside just staring straight at her, there was no light and the window was open, so when she pointed torch light she saw nothing but when she switch the torch light, she saw the shadow of the same person. That really scared shit out of me because she later told me in the morning.
The second was last night. Someone was banging seriously on the toilet window because it's an iron window. The banging continue for almost 3hours. It was double banging as if someone was knocking hard. I doubt it was someone when I try I check I couldn't find anyone there, few minute later the banging continue till around 4.30am when mosque call out for prayer. And I could here some here some sound like someone walking in the next room where she died, no one was home. Her sister refuse to sleep in the room so it was locked.
Please help, how can I get rid of this unwanted disturbances. I don't know what to do. This last night scare me to the bone. The funniest thing. No one heard this banging except me. The other neighbors have different theory.
Anyone experience this kind of thing before? How did you handle it?
go and look for YI camera. A camera that u can monitor on ur phone, so u can get her recorded lol
I will be 30 years in a few months and I have never felt so much unease as I do right now. I work with one of the federal parastatals and I am currently on level 10 going to 12 next year. I have a Master degree athough it is not exactly relevant to my current job.
The problem is that my organisation uses the Ministry salary structure and my monthly net is below 80k even as a level 10 staff.
I am not married and I am academically inclined. Asides having a Master degree, I have over 8 professional certifications.
I have been trying to clinch a transfer of service to a better parastatal where the remuneration is better and where my knowledge/experiences as a science graduate will be better appreciated but it has been a bit difficult.
However, just before the COVID-19 episode in Nigeria, I got the right link for a transfer of service to a better parastatal but the process got stalled with the COVID-19 palaver.
I have 4 siblings who are Canadian citizens and they have been on my neck to migrate. I never took the calls seriously until this lockdown period. My siblings are arguing about the uncertainty of the Nigerian economy post-covid and advising me to seize this opportunity to migrate and start a new career over there?
My question therefore, "is it wise to stay back since I have gone quite far in my public service career and just wait for the opportunity to transfer my service to a better paying federal parastatal OR do I migrate to Canada and start a new career?
Your honest inputs will be highly appreciated. Thanks!
@CrazyMan @1forall Please I need your help in pushing this forward for a wider view. Thank you.
