The problem has never been generating 6000mw but transmitting it. Nigeria can generate 16000mw but can never wheel more than 3500mw. Genco is privately owned, distribution is privately owned but transmission (weakest link) is owned by the government. I'm not saying discos and gencos don't have their own problems but the biggest problem with the power chain is with the transmission owned by the federal government.
