Apart from rice, he has supported many other backward integration policies such as cotton. I am not a fan of his as I believe the market should be allowed to pick winners and not the government. Jonathan, a young man of his late fifties subdued the greatest uprising in Nigeria since the civil war. He invested heavily in human resource. Also Africa shook the very day he handed over to his opponent in the 2015 elections. He certainly had his faults but his faults do not make him a failure. Mankind is such that, they tend to observe the worst you did that the best you did. As for Muhammad Buhari, he's a very great leader on how he has managed to keep Nigeria as one despite challenges arising since 2015. That man is a mentor to me, he has always been a fatherly figure in this country. He has had his failures but that does not make him a failure. I was born into a family of educated elites, I wouldn't hesitate to let you know that my dad is a Chartered accountant with over 20 yrs of experience, I also have some feats I have achieved but I would hesitate to disclose them on an open platform like this. In the simplest explanation budgets are plans for spending resources on different sectors in a society or for a single individual. So before criticizing Nigeria for her low budgets you have to analyze what Nigeria needs to spend her resources on. With a population of over 150 million you should expect Nigeria to defend her Territorial intergrity with large amounts of money, spend huge on health care, education and internal policing. That's exactly what Nigeria is doing but it is at minimal level. Budgets require funding and as a matter of fact Nigeria has been borrowing to fund her budgets since 2017. That money for huge investments is not there. Militants has vowed not to permit max. oil exploration. Previous leaders failed to establish adequate mining in the Northern part of the country making the North look parasitic. Under PMB, Nigeria earned her highest from mining so the simple reason we don't have big budgets is that we don't have big funding. Then insecurity added to our problems. If our landmass is adequately utilized, then we would earn big on it, imagine solar farms in the deserts of the North, we would be exporters of electricity but there's no funding and security for that.
Imagine coal plants in Enugu or factories where we extract ammonical liquor,coal tar and coal gas from coal. All these are possibilities we are yet to explore and you wish to jeopardize this nice dreams for an imagination? Look the population of a society says a lot about it. Population is power. Imagine invading China. What we need is not a break up but a democratic revolution. Such a revolution would be led by the likes of Gov. Charles Soludo, Gov. El-rufai, Gov. A. A Sule, Gov. Sanwo-Olu. Remember the South Sudan experience. States of Homogenous ethnicities are not the best solution.
4. I am very sure, that tribes are not going to be turning against themselves soon because Nigeria remains a unifying factor for all aggrieved tribes. Nigeria makes a Fulani man have the guts to sell his cows in the South East, Nigeria makes an Igbo man send his son to go and learn work in Kaduna. Should this bond called Nigeria break, either minority tribes in daughter states would turn against majority tribes in the same state or daughter states would invade each other.

So an administration that inherited no debts as at 2010, had over $36b ECA account, over $ 40b reserve and crude selling at over $100 still managed to plunge the govt into debts of over $11b as at 2015, was borrowing to pay salary from Feb 2015 till he left in May and depleted the ECA to $1b, the reserve to the minimum withdrawal amount of about $28b and YET LEFT NO NOTABLE INFRASTRUCURE is what you call a sucessful administration? So with crude selling at all time high between 2010 and July 2014 yet Jonathan managed to get into debt before leaving office 9 months later and yet he performed well in your opinion? Who caused the situation that necessitated paying states bailout money by Buhari? I understand your good intentions but they are naive as you can see. Jonathan was a colossal failure in capital letters. As for Buhari my father served him in the past and we knew he wasnt the religious bigot some tried to paint him. The crusades was a response to the spread of Islam in Europe, nothing more. The same thing the Hindus did in India against Pakistan.
