Cmanforall: What if she sues? Moreover, her consent is needed for the operation. Vickygarl: The fact remains that her consent wasn't taken. And trust me, you will not even think of recording if u are faced with a real life scenario. Moreover, the recording itself has to be with the patient's consent. Her consent is not always needed for an operation - if she is incapacitated, unconscious or incapable of making logical decisions. A relative would often be asked to provide the consent needed, in such cases. KoiceReloaded: In a developed world, like USA for example, I believe the woman would have been operated on against her will provided she has a medical insurance and the insurance company gave the go ahead. There's a litigational loophole somewhere in there: She can't sue the hospital because it wasn't their decision, and she can't sue the insurance company because she's bound to them by contract. God bless you, jare. You don talk am finish. |

rabzy: No she is not, JWs do CS and take all medicine except blood. The Bible said the life is in the blood and it is something sacred to God and should not be eaten. JWs don't eat blood sausages or trapped animals and don't take blood transfusions for the same reasons. But they don't wait around to die believing that the blood will come by miracle, rather they have championed bloodless surgery and alternatives to blood transfusions. And they gone to great lengths to educate doctors and hospitals all over the world about these options and many leading scholars, professors and top hospitals are already going the way of bloodless surgery or reducing the amount of transfusions to do to the barest minimum. Not all JWs are knowledgeable. My former room mate at uni, was a JW who died to a refusal to take a blood transfusion, after he was rushed to the health centre. There was no Haemacel or whatever they call it at that time, and his PCV had dropped really low. It was a needless death, which happened several years ago. |

Hotzone: Illiteracy is the inability to use ur brain. A woman was hit by stray bullet and was rushed to fmc so Doctor demanded for blood but the husband refused any transfusion but bros, I suddenly lifted the man away as doctor directed and he did the surgery after transfusion and the woman survived. Still waiting for my award as life saver! God bless you, o jare. May you live long! If I was the doctor of that pregnant woman, I would do the CS despite her objections, simply to ensure that she survived. I would make sure everything was recorded, in case she wants to kick up a fuss afterwards. |

InspireWealthB: Have you contacted their customer care over this issue? Yes, they dribbled me back & forth and asked me to come back again. Who has time for such rubbish? If they deduct the charges of the second card which was deactivated, from my account - I will report them to CBN Customer Complaints Unit, using the Public Complaints Form. I don't have time for nonsense..... |

docadams: As beautiful as such a place may be it will definitely be blighted by one of the often recurring setback of misplaced priority and wrong location of projects. If in doubt read about DELSUTH, Oghara. established by Ibori. YoungFr: you're very correct, I was shocked when I went to Otefe and saw such a beautiful structure in such location where only few can locate, it's just so shameful such stranded hospital is in a death location docadams: In 2011, when the accreditation team of West African Postgraduate Medical College went there for assessment, I was stupefied at the surprise displayed by members of the team at what was on display. At the end, the leader of the team made one solemn remark:a place that cannot sustain itself and whose services are beyond the reach of the local populace cannot survive. They, however proffered solutions, of course not binding. Nothing is wrong with the location. The only problem is the lack of proper access roads, trained staff, adequate funding and infrastructure, to enable patients access its facilities, and support the hospital's growth. Most tertiary hospitals in the past, were often built on the outskirts of the town or the city, where there was a huge expanse of land, so that adequate space for future expansion could be secured. Patients and sick people will always go to where they can find adequate medical treatment to relieve their condition, regardless of how far the place is located. I have seen patients leave Warri, and come to Lagos for medical treatment. Others have left Ughelli to go to Abuja and Port-harcourt, just to receive specialised medical care. There are young doctors that spend over 2 years looking for hospitals to accept them for internship, in this Nigeria. Some even have to travel to different states, before they can get a medical care facility, to accept them. The challenges of finding internship slots in Nigeria, is huge. No location is too far, to site a hospital. Many of such locations later became a beehive of activities, as development efforts grew in that direction, and people moved closer to the location of such hospitals, to work, live and study. The presence of such medical facilities, also gave rise to additional commercial activities. You would find small scale businesses like chemists, cleaning & laundry services, eateries or restaurants, medical supplies etc being set up around such hospitals by private individuals, to provide services to patients and workers who patronise the hospital. Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) was set up in 1962 in an area called Idi-Araba, on the outskirts of a poor neighbourhood called Mushin in Lagos, in 1962. Idi-Araba was like a village then, sandwiched between a very bushy settlement. Each time it rained, the road leading to the hospital got flooded, and became like a mini-river. My uncles were medical interns in the hospital at that time, and they saw first-hand, how the whole place developed. With time, several small businesses sprung up in the vicinity of the town, and today development has caught up with the area, and it is now firmly in the centre of town. Cost of property in that area, now runs into millions. |

kingthreat: Who da fuk is Lola that i take glory in tarnishing her image? Did Paul not say a woman was the cause of the problem with his brother as at then? Or shey na your mama be the woman behind their problem? Don't quote me to say rubbish You see yourself? A simple question was asked, and you had to go off ranting like someone who had rabies. Paul said it was a woman that caused their fight, according to you. Did he mention Lola's name specifically? How do you even know he was not lying? Only those who lack respect for their own mothers, would make references to someone else's moum. Anyway, thanks for letting us know that "na your mama be the woman behind their problem...", like you said.

Agadsman: In Nigeria once you are from a humble background and you are young and rich you will be viewed by many as either a yahoo guy or a ritualist, don't just know why. So riches is meant to be for the old abi.
Back to the topic, bros which kind of light shined on you that you cannot disclose. Make your source of wealth known so that you won't be tagged a negative name. If you are from a humble background, and you landed into sudden wealth as a young man, you should be able to disclose how you made that leap in an honest manner. Did you engage in legit business? What type of business was it, and how exactly did it fetch you the millions? That way, people can check & verify if your testimony is real or fake. Or did you cheat, kill or steal to make those millions? |
