PoliticsRe: Nigerian Man Outsmarts FG, Asking For N48m To Sell Domain Names For “nigerian Ai by LaudableXX: 4:20pm On Jul 21, 2018
MrRabbi:
A Smart Nigerian has created a domain name around the new National carrier and is now asking for N48m.

The Federal government unveiled Nigeria’s carrier, ‘Nigerian Air’, in London recently. However, it failed to acquire a website for the carrier before it launched.

Nigerian Twitter username with the handle @misteradeyemi, said a Nigerian has outsmarted the government and bought all available options.

See what he wrote below:

The Federal Government were stupid enough to unveil the new National Carrier without securing domain names. Well, someone was smart enough to buy all possible options.
He will not even get 48 kobo. When there are so many different acronyms, that govt can use to create a website for the new airline? Yeye man.....

Total rubbish! The court would not ask if her name was called or not if she decides to sue. She gave the age of the girl involved, the comments made by the woman in question and the procedure in terms of operation carried out, What other proof do you think the court would ask for if the said woman goes on to sue? What she did what a breach of confidentiality, she had no right to discuss specifics about any medical case brought to her. undecided
No judge will entertain such a frivolous case. sad Names were not mentioned, and identities were not disclosed....so why waste the court's time? huh And what reputational damage was caused to the patient? On admission forms, there are little clauses inserted in fine print, that sometimes state that a patient's medical case can be reviewed by other external parties, for purposes of education or further treatment. If the patient signed off on one of those forms, she has no case. Any lawyer that takes up such a case, just wants to fleece the patient, because he would lose big time, in court!

The best economist who know anything about airline business will advise you to steer clear of the flag carrier business.

Etihad for instance has no business existing in the first place and the only reason for it's existence are the petro-dollars that are behind it and the Abi Dhabi economy. Without it, it will collapse. Emirates is big enough to satisfy the two.

Abu Dhabi is simply copying everything Dubai does.

Turkish Airlines might be a truly profitable airline (though I don't it's profits or balance sheet). It's home market of Turkey welcomes 20m tourist yearly.

Great to hear that a few African national carriers are holding their own.

That changes nothing.

Flag carriers are unnecessary especially in a cut throat business like that of private airlines.

Political factors cloud the activities of flag carriers.

How does a flag carrier downsize for instance? One call will end the cost pruning exercise! The unions will let the world know that Nigerian Air is sacking workers and allowing them to suffer with their children.

It's tough running them as pure business. The cost of being a flag carrier is very high.
Oga, please stop saying what you do not know. sad There are flag carriers that are privately run with minimal govt shares or interference, and still thrive by making huge profits for their owners. sad Air France is the flag carrier of France, just like British Airways (BA) is the flag carrier of the United Kingdom and the largest airline in Britain, based on fleet size. Air Canada is the flag carrier and largest airline of Canada, by fleet size and passengers carried. South African Airways (SAA) is the flag carrier airline for the Republic of South Africa. Japan Airlines Limited (JAL), is the flag carrier airline of Japan and the second largest in the country. How have all these airlines, been run as pure businesses, churning out profit? huh

There are many flag carriers with private equity, and negligble govt shareholding. Most of the worlds major airlines are also flag carriers.

Being a flag carrier, does not mean an airline has to be badly run or unprofitable. undecided Please go and check what it means to be a 'flag carrier.' Kindly do not confuse it, with what it means to be a govt-owned airline. They are 2 very different things. And some flag carrier airlines have downsized in the past, or cut costs. So any new one that wants to do the same things, has abundant international examples, they can draw upon.

As for Etihad Airways, if its operations are being buoyed up by petro dollars, then the management has done a good job of making it operate really well. undecided There are airlines that are well-funded, but run badly. Nigeria earns petrodollars too, but what have we done in the aviation industry, with our own funds?

justt:
Firstly, I can see there's love in your heart for your husband as you said he's a good man and so you will want the issues on ground worked out; that's good and commendable.

You see my advice here will not be based on sentiments or on popular opinions but on the words of God. If indeed you are a Christian, please be always guided by the word.

A fundamental problem I noticed in your family from your narrative is that you are not one! A Christian home is never divided. It's already a failure that both of you have things separately - this is mine and that's is yours already pointed out that there's a problem except you're talking about bra and underwears but with properties, NO! God already made you one, don't divide yourselves with things.

Now, what should do? Well, maybe this may not be an appropriate question since there are many options as some had even suggested. The proper question should be, what would God want me to do? A major problem with believers today, including pastors, is that we only hear the word, some even preach but we don't allow it to rule or direct our lives!

I believe and will suggest you submit to your husband just as the Bible commands. "Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their OWN HUSBAND IN EVERYTHING" (Eph 5:24, NKJV, emphasis mine).

Please don't misunderstand me. I value and appreciate women and will in no way subjugate them, not even with the Holy Bible. I quoted the reference above because I believe every aspect of a believer's life should be directed by God's word.
You are just quoting Bible for them, without giving them sound advice or solutions on how to resolve the issue. Both of them should forgive each other, communicate properly and change the title deeds of the house to joint ownership of Mr & Mrs. End of story.

In medical meetings, I can always discuss patients by giving bogus names and aliases without being held liable. For example, Patient X was admitted on so and so date with history of so and so. A third party will not know the particular person. How can I breach confidentiality if the third party doesn't have an idea of who I am referring to?
OK, in this particular case, do you know the mother and child in question just from the limited data the doctor provided? Even if the mother 'thinks' it is her daughter that is being discussed, she has no proof because she cannot say with all confidence that the there was no other case similar to her daughter's.
Ah, thank you, o! shocked That is what I have been trying to tell him since. Still, he keeps arguing blindly, and insisting one confidential information has been breached. If the patient's medical examination took place in a govt-owned teaching hospital, where a consultant surrounded by different medical students, would take turns in poking and prodding the patient, what kind of 'confidentiality' would he be talking about here? Would the patient's confidentiality be breached, by the doctor discussing the patient's medical history, with his students, or by the doctor showing slides of the operation at an healthcare conference, without showing the patient's face or mentioning her identity?

Well sluggards would rather prefer to live in denial and adhere to stupid rantings of insecure, misogynist, men with over bloated egos. A real man would obtain valid proof of his wives adulterous affairs and not acting on childish impulses. I have seen women who have the worst tongues on the planet, who literally spit fire but you would not believe how gentle and submissive they are when their husbands who are real men are around, because real men treat their women right. Its only an insecure fool that would drag properties with his wife and sees her as a competition because he comes from a poor background and she's well off. And after slaving for the family all she gets in return is to be thrown out empty handed, while the alofrate runs around town with scores of women, Unfortunately for him the plan backfired. This is what happens when women get married to little boys who think they can now keep a family, after sighting the first strand of pubic hair. But you wouldn't know that would you?

Ideally, yes. But the "street" or "road" in front of the bookshop house, as it is today, does not qualify as a "Marina".
Oga, that stretch was originally a Marina. Even after building houses there, the area has not been renamed by any local govt or state govt. So why do we like causing confusion over such things? It remains 'Marina.' Only goodness knows where you got your own map from, which classifies Marina as a 'road.' And Bookshop House at CMS is not located on the Marina, it is firmly part of Broad Street. In fact, it is at the intersection of Broad Street and Odunlami Street, in Lagos Island. Check your map for the location of Bookshop house. It was govt that named that area as Broad Street, in the '70s.

Reading comments from some folks here, I now appreciate the extent of healing the family system needs. Where is love, submission, sacrifice, tolerance etc that used to be the hallmark of marriages. Why wouldn't the type of families we have these days be the breeding place of criminals that are now everywhere defrauding people and doing all kinds of money rituals.
Oga, take it easy. undecided You cannot go around accusing people of coming from broken homes, simply because their views are different from your own. The "love, submission, sacrifice, tolerance etc that used to be the hallmark of marriages," which you spoke about, have been relegated to the back burner, because they do not make sound men the way they used to, in the past. shocked

Once upon a time, you had honest, hardworking, straight-forward, disciplined, respectful, tolerant and visionary men in the society, who would go the extra mile to take care of their wives and families. They handled their homes with understanding, while treating their wives with respect. And you had open, trusting, caring, truthful, patient and well-mannered women who put their families' interests, first. Today, you have selfish, cunning, self-centred, dishonest men who are just after their own pockets, and see women as wh'ores, baby mamas etc, that they can pull a fast one upon. And the women? huh There are many of them who are too busy forming vain slay mamas, fashionistas and groupies all over the place, instead of taking their destinies in their own hands.

Any sane child will use whatever money he's earmarked for any project to treat his sick father.
I'm not hear to side any of you but whatever decision you take, remember the kids. I know of a girl whose parents divorced when she was a kid. She was so lively as a kid but after the divorce, she grew up to be so withdrawn and antisocial. School performances dropped.
for the sake of your kids, you both should compromise and shift grounds.
Go back and read her story again. sad She was the first to mention that her husband used his share of the money to treat his sick father, flew him abroad for treatment, and completed his parent's house. Everything the husband narrated here, is what the wife said before in her story. The only thing she omitted was the part, where she suspected him of cheating and abused him, his family & his background. That was what made him tell her to leave the house. Her response to him, was that the documents of the house are in her own name, so she cannot leave her own house. undecided

2. The man has requested for a transfer to another state, without his family. shocked
3. The man has refused to come back home, unless the property papers are transferred solely to his own name alone, which the wife is unwilling to do. She wants the title deeds to reflect joint ownership. The man has refused that option. angry
4. The man has not even considered the possibility of going back home, yet claims he does not want a divorce. huh

In my view, the guy has initiated an action plan for a prolonged separation, which would ultimately lead to a divorce. Such separation under acrimonious terms, is the beginning of the road to the divorce court.... cry

In my view, the wife needs to work on her anger and abusive nature. Such verbal assaults can lead to unsightly incidents. She is talking like a technocrat.
Oga, stop using the word 'most' when talking about airlines. Did you conduct a survey, before coming to this conclusion? huh What about the ones that have succeeded? Qatar Airways has been fully controlled by the Qatari government since July 2013. Isn't it working well? shocked

Etihad Airways is the second national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, and made a profit of US$14 million, by the end of 2011. Since then Etihad has bought a 29.21% stake in Air Berlin (which is Europe's sixth-largest airline), and also bought a 49% stake in the Serbian national carrier called Jat Airways. undecided Etihad airlines is is wholly owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi. Etihad started with a fleet of 22-aircraft to become a global aviation conglomerate, with equity in more than half a dozen international airlines and a fleet of more than 700 aircraft.

What about LOT Polish Airlines which is the flag carrier of Poland that was established in 1928? Currently, the Polish government owns 68% of shares in the airline. It won Global Traveler's "Best Airline in Eastern Europe Award" in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Don't let us talk about Ethiopian Airlines, RwandAir, EgyptAir, Royal Air Maroc or Turkish Airlines that are still holding their own, in the aviation industry. The Republic of Turkey owns a 49.12% interest in Turkish Airlines.

Air France was established in 1933 and until 2004, 44% of Air France was owned by the French govt. But the French authorities later sold 18.4% of their shares in the airline, to now retain just about 20% of the total shareholding. sad

Go back and read then digest what i wrote before rushing to comment.

Of course the level of the care a patient will receive under private HMO will be better because the cost is higher. No argument.

All over the world, there are 2 ways of funding healthcare. Either by taxing the workforce or by citizens paying for health insurance. UK healthcare is funded by tax, US is by buying insurance. What i mean is the coverage from buying insurance is usually inferior to that provided by taxes except you are very rich and can pay a lot.

Am not saying present way health is managed is the best. What i said is having health insurance (NHIS or private) is better than having none
Oga, you are the one that rushes to comment without bothering to read and digest all that has been said. undecided

Look at your recent comment: "What i mean is the coverage from buying insurance is usually inferior to that provided by taxes..." Really? shocked Oga, this statement does not apply to Nigeria. It is the other way round, here. Medical care provided to Nigerians under NHIS cannot be said to be superior, to the one obtained under an insurance plan provided by HMOs.
