Where you there to confirm if the killers are truely herdsmen? And on what level can you confirm the words killer herdsmen. If you can answer this you have answered the questions you asked me.
And if you come and claim it what what you read online how do you know it is true Don't be silly. The people whose houses were burnt and whose loved ones were killed, came out openly to confirm that their assailants were killer herdsmen. Members of Middle-Belt communities that were attacked also openly stated this, to the public. Security agencies have also confirmed this, times without number. Were you living on Mars, when they did so? Do you know how many people on NL have relatives in the affected communities? Or haven't you been reading the newspapers? These are first-hand eye-witness accounts. Miyetti Allah has also openly recognised that some of the carnage was carried out as retaliation for their cattle that was rustled. ANNTV: A gas pipeline in Ilara near Ogijo area of Ogun State exploded on Sunday night.
Eyewitnesses say the explosion occurred at about 10:00 pm on Sunday and rescue officials are still battling to put out the fire.
Sources reported that the pipeline had been attacked by suspected vandals who left the valve open after stealing petroleum products from it last week.
The area has, however, been cordoned off by the police to avoid loss of lives.
The incident comes just days after a fuel-laden tanker exploded on Otedola Bridge along the Berger axis of Lagos, killing at least 9 people and burning at least 54 vehicles.

At least in Adeboyes response you can see he commented by praying to God for the violence to talk. If Oyedepo is annointed like he claims. Then he should Go and beg God. This is is no longer about any religion. Go and find out it is about tribe and land. So i only see him instigating more violence. But if you feel he has done the right thing no wahala you are entitled to your opinion. But i can assure you of one thing war is a disaster Oyedepo too, is advocating prayer. Didn't you see him praying that God should execute vengeance against the terrorists and killer herdsmen? There is nothing like begging God in this case, as the Bible is already very clear about what God wants from his followers. Even self-defence is entrenched in the Scriptures, and Christians need to follow through. There is no Northern or Middle-Belt Christian who has lost friends, families and loved ones to these terrorists, that will fault Oyedepo for his stand. This nonsense just has to stop. When Goliath rose up against the children of Israel in the bible, why did David bring out his sling to attack him and cut him down? Was David not defending his people? Why didn't the priests ask the children of Israel to submit to Goliath and refuse to think about defending themselves? |

majekdom2: the problem with your likes is they are quick to quote people out of context because they lack understanding and deep reasoning skills. You want to argue Rwanda is advancing faster than Nigeria. My point is simply Rwanda of yesterday has a functioning plant and attracting investors by the day whilst Nigeria of old isn’t still regarded as the poorest nation in the world. As for the data, google is your friend on how Rwanda’s has advanced. I do not need any sloth sayer to tell me the plant will perform going by kagame’s Record! Again, you are limiting blockchain to bitcoin. There was no where I mentioned bitcoin. I mentioned blockchain technology. Google what blockchain technology is and you will see it is beyond bitcoin. Read and understand people’s post before you show your ignorance. I am talking blockchain not bitcoin and yes it is new. Is that a reason why Nigeria should wait and not tap into it the opportunities it presents? What info and regulation? Why are other nations embracing it fast? Oga you are limited by how far you can see. Next time before you mention someone, make sure you have read and understood the post. Check through my first post on this thread, I advised graduates to learn skills in data science as it’s sought for all over the world. So what’s your statement about solution on . Go back up and read my post. You are just the regular ignoramus who is quick to display folly online. Nigeria is a consumer economy even to the toothpick level.... you no get sense to understand wetin I dey talk here. 60 years of oil production but no functioning refineries, no stable power and you are defending mediocrity. My solution to the problem discussed in the thread is up there as for Nigeria, I have none. Rwanda has a functioning plant and are attracting investors, so bloo'dy what? Are the car assembly plants in Nigeria not functional in your own view? Where is the evidence that Rwanda's car assembly plant will operate at full capacity? Or what kind of illogical comparison is this oozing from you? Oya, hop unto a plane to Rwanda and settle there. Nobody cares. It will be good riddance to one less myopic joker like you. You mentioned Blockchain in your previous post and I responded accordingly. Bringing up bitcoin & blockchain again now, is an attempt to digress and split hairs, in a silly manner. Both are relatively new, and those involved in the trade or industry, have to drive its acceptance and awareness among the public. It has little to with those outside their circles. Instead of wailing, ranting and lamenting cluelessly online, why don't you seek knowledge about the field and enlighten others? I attended a seminar last week on bitcoin & blockchain technology, put together by a young firm who had reaped rewards from those who invested in it. The owners are actively driving the trade, and not coming on to NL to wail about lack of info., on the subject. The young man who developed Paga, as well as the bright guy who set up Interswitch are Nigerians like you and I. They did not go online to fling silly insults around or compare Rwanda to Nigeria, before they got to work and developed systems and applications, that transformed the digital payment space in the country. Now apart from flinging insults around like a mentally challenged toddler, what else are you good at? Anyway, thank God everyone can read, and they can all see how ignorant and clueless you truly are. |

Do you even know the people who historically shaped international diplomacy? Would you know how Mitternich, castlereagh or Hardenberg and others helped to lay the foundation for modern diplomacy, without checking Google? Certainly not.
You're talking of reciprocity as if every country can use it effectively. USA is about to deport 7,000 Ghanians, how many Americans can Ghana deport in reciprocation? If USA decides to deport 25,000 Nigerians today, how many Americans can Nigeria deport in reply? Use your head.
So if you know that the point of appendix pain/incision is McBurney's point does it mean you know anything about doing appendectomy? Or if you just know that DNA can be amplified, does it mean you the first or last thing about doing PCR?
You're happing on Diplomacy 101, what of 202 to 606? You think mundane and basic kindergarten stuff is what diplomacy is all about/ That you even need google to prove "reciprocity" means you either have very little real life experience or exposure. All I see is sour grapes. Someone furious about being screened carefully at airports but not interested in how we caused it ourselves. You cannot have Abacha loot billions, 419 everywhere, prostitution, many hanged in Asia for drugs yearly and not expect people to be suspicious. The world is not fair. Deal with it.
You cannot do things that re-enforce stereotypes and prejudices knowing how biased the world already is. It is your duty to be good ambassadors so that over time things will improve. Far Easterners faced similar stuff but they rose above it. Even 0.5 % of bad eggs is enough to ruin reputation.
As regard Albania, have you been to any of those countries you mentioned? I visited two those countries among others in former East Block soon after end of cold war to see for myself. Poland were Warsaw Pact was signed is now part of EU. Russia could not stop Latvia or Lithuania that were formerly part of USSR joining EU. Any country in Eastern Europe that makes enough economic, social, democratic and human rights progress can join EU. Even Ukraine!
Talking of "lecturing" is rich from you. Can you even teach kindergarten kids in a country with proper regulations? May be at Auntie Gbemi Nursery School in Bariga or Mushin. Again, I will reply as long as I want.

Even though I'm a born again Christian, i think Oyedepo is mad and beginning to sound like a terrorist. Instead of Christians to set up organizations to defend their interests like MURIC is doing for Muslims this man is calling for self defense. How are we sure the killers are fulani herdsmen in the first place when ISIS has found their way into Nigeria?
Arrest oyedepo now before war begins May God deal severely with you a thousand times over, for that illogical statement. If you are a Northern or Middle-Belt Christian, that has ever lost family and friends to the killer herdsmen and their mayhem, you will never utter such rubbish. Is it not inside the same Bible that Christians read, that David asked God to wreak vengeance upon his enemies in the Psalms? Oyedepo called for self-defence, and asked God to judge the killers, by exacting vengeance against them. Self-defence means that when you are under attack, or in danger of being attacked, you defend & protect yourself. Oyedepo never asked Christians to take the law into their hands. Did he ask his fellow Christians to start witch-hunting the killer herdsmen or to become the aggressors? Please kindly stop defending rubbish....it is not compulsory to talk. |

I will not mention Turkey because you might claim religion is the reason.
Which country has not faced near bankruptcy at some point? But you wouldn't know why Greece ended up in a dilemma after a massive growth compared to 30 years earlier.
I will stop commenting when I want. It is a free forum.
You gain respect by how your country treats you. If a country treats its people like poo, foreign countries will do same. Oga, you really need to educate yourself when it comes to the world of international politics, so that you can realise it is an intricate game played by countries to derive the highest gain, that feeds their own interests. It would take ages to lecture you about the politics playing out in the case of Albania, Armenia, Moldova, & Serbia - due to the stronghold Russia has on those countries within that region, and its constant face-off with other Western nations. I am glad you understand that Turkey's issue is more religious than political. Some Arab countries have oppressive regimes and their citizens have quite limited freedoms, (in fact they treat them like poo) yet they are actively courted by the West for various reasons ranging from strategic, to economic to political ones. Now for the umpteenth time, when are you going to get off my mentions? You can continue commenting without quoting me, or is that too hard for you to do, simply because you are obsessed with wanting lesser developed countries to worship citizens with Western passports?

Majority of the cars on Nigerian roads are imported , simple. its not about having this or that,, I never said you did not have it. How many are working at full capacity. Are we supposed to be importing used cars from abroad? if those plants are working at full capacity, wont the level of unemployment reduce by a good number. The steel factory, how about refineries and many I cant even remember now. @ bolded, just as I expected, limited knowledge in the topic but yet we go show say we sabi. read about the whats happening in Kenya and South Africa as it concerns blockchain... these are African countries I mentioned . You are there saying new but nations have start up solving problems using block chain already. Block chain is nit just a bout crypto.. this still new mentality is why Nigeria is always late to the party. what IT skills are you talking? App development? many apps developed that dont have a problem they are solving. you are not a developing country, you are an underdeveloped country. Again, the problem wih Nigeria is not skills. The problem with Nigeria is are are a big 'cosumer' and dumping ground economy. You see...it is people like you that are the cause of many of our problems in Nigeria. You talk and operate from a faulty premise, and when people try to enlighten you, you start forming Einstein, when in fact you know nothing. In your previous post, you were touting the fact that Rwanda had a car assembly plant, in your bid to sneer quietly at Nigeria. I pointed out that it was not a new thing, because Nigeria also had car assembly plants. What is mediocre about pointing that out? Do you have any data to suggest that the Rwanda car assembly plant is operating at a higher capacity than the ones in Nigeria? So what are you whining about? Next you went on to wail about the lack of info on Bitcoin. I pointed out the fact, that it was a new technology worldwide ( not just in Naija), and as such info on it, was limited. Even though it is new, different people have organised seminars and workshops on it, locally. i still attended one last week. One reason why it is not gaining ground in Nigeria, is the lack of regulation & info, because people are sceptical to put their money into things that they do not understand, especially if it is unregulated. Do you expect govt to now come and educate people about it? No, the private sector & its' businessmen who want to make money out of it, should bear that burden. Finally, you decided to rant about Nigeria being a consumer nation. Yes, we are a consumer nation. All the big nations in the world are consumer nations, including the US which consumes tons of goods and services, annually. The only difference is that they have a manufacturing base and superior infrastructure. Now, instead of wailing about what a consumer nation we are, an enlightened and intelligent person would proffer solutions on how to develop & strengthen Nigeria's manufacturing base, and improve its infrastructure, while aligning its domestic economic policies in a way that would stimulate growth of industries, MSMEs, and the logistics network to boost its manufacturing and distribution capacities. In Nigeria, we cannot afford to continue developing apps that do not solve pressing problems. We must develop technologies that address public needs, and boost developmental efforts. I don't know why this is so difficult for you to understand. Nigerians have an abundance of skills in certain areas, while they lack certain skills in other areas. Now, if you are going to embark on another thoughtless rant, please get off my mentions. I do not have time to engage those with miniscule brains, today. |

So it does not occur to you that in a country whole villages are eliminated by herdsmen while their leaders sing and dance at Eagle Square, not country will respect leaders or citizens from such a country? Or a country where their president go abroad and say the country is corrupt and its youth are lazy?
Respect and value yourself through deed and actions and everyone will respect you.
Chinese and Japanese were derided as little yellow monkeys just decades ago by Westerns. They got their acts together and now have massive respect worldwide. Nobody owes you any respect. You have to earn it.
I saw Eastern Europeans being delayed at borders just 20 years ago. Now they are mostly part of EU.
The point remains Nigerians came to be treated with suspicion everywhere as the economy and country went down, making millions travel anyhow and some doing all kinds of things for money. Some have been terrible ambassadors causing increased hostility. Only us can change it positively. Not reciprocation due to dogma. Flashing colonial mentality card will not cut it because we depend on oyinbo for almost everything. Be self sufficient first. Drive innoson, use made in Nigeria goods only. Oga stop it...you are the one who still does not get it. Every country, relates with the rest of the world based on its' own enlightened self-interest, and whatever best suits the interests of its citizens. Only a stupid country with no sense, will allow its citizens to be treated like mini-criminals by another country, while it treats the citizens of that other country, like royalty simply because it wants to curry some misplaced favour with them. It has nothing to do with how wealthy a particular country is, or isn't. It is called Diplomacy 101. Ask any good student of international relations. The citizens of Eastern Europe got a free pass to travel to most parts of the West, because their countries joined the European Union (EU) which promoted free movement to a large extent, among its members, not because their countries became rich overnight. The EU as a continental bloc, also signed agreements with other regional blocs to promote trade, defence and migration agreements which benefited its member states and their citizens. The whole arrangement had very little to do with how prosperous such nations were...it was more about how strategic those countries were, and also about promoting a common interest, on a continental level. Greece is almost bankrupt today, but its citizens are not treated like the dregs of the world, are they? Now please for the last time, kindly get off my mentions....if you do not mind. |

Blonchilli: Yes they do and it has nothing to do with circles. The girls you see running around G-boys, the ones you see jumping from one guy to the other and taxing them for bills, the one we see who after marriage sits at home and expects the husband to pay their bills. Maybe the word average was not proper but a large number of women today do not want to work. And by the way over 60 percent of the shops these women run are paid by their husbands, boyfriends, sugar daddies, runs or they just sell provisions and sit idle in the shop gisting. I'm not generalizing, but that's what we see daily. I have sisters and a mother who do not depend on a man and their husbands for their livelihood. So it's not about hearsay or circles, they are still hardworking women but the lazy ones are more than the strong ones What is the population of women in Nigeria that you have met, that led you to make such sweeping illogical conclusions? Guy, you do not know what you are saying. I have worked with UN-funded programmes for a variety of agencies, and I can tell you that Nigerian women are some of the most hard-working people, you can ever see. Women are said to make up about 49.34 % of the current 180 million population of Nigeria in 2016, according to the World Bank. So which dirty research or study did you conduct, to discover that the lazy ones are more than the hardworking ones? When, where and how did you arrive at this infantile conclusion? Those you claim have shops set up for them by men or sugar daddies are very much in the minority in the urban centres. How many men, are barely coping and managing to put body and soul together, that they would splurge out cash to set up shops, for all the women they know? The average Naija man would most likely date 6 or 7 women over a period of 5 years or more, so how many shops is he going to open for each one? Most women I know, took small loans from their cooperative societies, or women's associations to set up their shops, while others saved their little funds over a period of time from their trading activities, in order to be able to rent a shop. So stop feeling embittered and envious of their successes. Even the uneducated ones in the villages go to the farms to cultivate agricultural products, and also trade in open markets to sell various commodities. Please stop using your miniscule schoolboy experience to judge majority of hardworking Naija women who struggle to put food on their tables, each day. Maybe you come from a community where women laze away, doing nothing. It is not the same thing, in the remaining 774 local government areas, in Nigeria. You need to step out a bit more, and educate yourself. |

eyinjuege: Majority of those ranting and talking on here have little experience about real life. Many are still doing mama/papa thank you and are still being fed by their parents. Majority are unmarried, and have no thoughts of getting married soon because they're not working. The married ones won't type all these funny stuff, as they know what their wives are bringing to the table, and know how she has been providing and making them look good to the world. I have always said this and will say it again. Nigerian women are one of the most hardworking women out there, and are an asset to any man. Especially abroad, they are more respected than their men who are mostly seen as just loudmouths and are considered a joke by other Africans and even non Africans. Nigerian women are strong and resilient. Able to easily adapt to situations around them. Majority are assets. Thank you. You have said it all. |

majekdom2: you would have made sense if you posted links to these skills or mentioned the skills themselves. The problem with Nigeria is not skills availability. This is a country with close to 200 million people. We are a consumer economy hence the product is finished before it gets here. The tech you mentioned is still the end product part of it that gets here. You will find sales jobs paying peanuts everywhere.. most businesses are looking to sell these "finished product" that have got no market really. Aside this, we are not embracing technology as fast as we should. The world is talking blockchain, IoT but you can barely find these discussions around in Nigeria. Volkswagen has launched a plant in Rwanda, this means automobile skills will sell.. no more imports from Dubai. If you visit SA, you ll find SA produced cars you find on their road.. BMW has a great market there. In Nigeria, we import cars.. we have mechanics not automobile technicians. I will advice any recent graduate to acquire skills in Data science. These are in hot demand now and in a short time it will extend to Nigeria. However, it is important your skill is certified and globally recognised. In Nigeria, we also have car assembly plants, just like the car assembly plant launched in Rwanda. At the last count, we had the Toyota assembly plant in Lagos, the Innoson assembly plant in Nnewi, the Peugeot assembly plant in Kaduna and the Volkswagen Automobile Group auto assembly factory on Badagry Expressway, Lagos. Stallion Group also assembles Nissan, Hyundai, Ashok-Leyland and IVECO vehicle brands at the same factory. CIG Motors has also started its car assembly plant for Chinese-branded vehicles called GAC in Ojota Lagos, Nigeria. Blockchain is still a new cryptocurrency technology even in many parts of the world, so it isn't something that can just gain traction easily here. What are the local regulatory policies guiding the trading of bitcoin? None. ITC skills are important because of its wide applications. But I would advise any young person to think of deploying such skills to worthwhile projects, that actually solve a need. I do not want to see another app for streaming music or videos. We already have enough apps, doing that. Instead, an app promoting healthcare delivery services and agricultural supply chain systems, would make sense in a developing country like our own. |

VULCAN: Does it mean that this person didnt read that the foreigners have ALREADY PAID and gotten a visa before they left their shores. Some people are just so desperate to defend this govt that they can't even comprehend information. Does it mean that this person above did not read and understand, that the $90 USD biometric visa-on-arrival fee applies to those seeking a visa on arrival, while those with already valid visas from Nigerian embassies in their home countries, were only charged a $20 USD processing fee? Some folks are just desperate to ridicule everyone they meet online, that they cannot comprehend information.

AreaFada2: This mentality you expressed here is keeping Nigeria in the dark. Look, within a generation, Chinese have moved from unwanted immigrants to those highly desired as tourists. That even UK that is outside Schengen is collaborating with Schengen countries to include UK in Schengen visas specially for the Chinese! Any credible tourist country gets concessions from destination countries/ Most Nigerian over-stayers abroad go on visitors/tourists. Trying to form reciprocation when you are clearly in a position of weakness, from where you cannot win. Use your head.
Nobody inflicted any hardship on Nigerians. Bad governance that created poverty did. When our economy was better, we needed no visa to many countries. Newly rich countries in Far East Asia are getting visa waiver with Western countries. Fix your economy & people will not see you as potential economic migrants. Oga, na God I take beg you.... instead of trying slavishly to promote colonial mentality, kindly depart from my mentions. In diplomatic circles, there is something called the law of reciprocity. A country cannot treat me and my fellow citizens like crap or horsesh*it, simply because I hold a green passport, and then expect me and my own immigration services to treat them like royalty, because they carry a foreign passport. The law of reciprocity applies. As I speak, Botswana citizens do not need a visa to go to the UK, for visits that do not extend beyond 90 days. If I stand in a foreign immigration queue with a fellow African from Botswana, my passport would be scrutinised as if it was contraband, while the other chap gets ushered in, with a smile and a wave. Yet you are making it seem I must grin and bear it, while I kiss the arse of the citizens of such foreign countries? Nah... Until the economy of my country is fixed, citizens of such foreign Western countries should NOT expect deference or any royal treatment from my own country. No be by force! It is silly to think I should kow-tow to you because you are visiting my land as a foreign citizen, while your own nation treats my citizens, like dung. |
Business › Re: Smes Urged To Embrace Digital Transformation by LaudableXX: 4:05am On Jun 28, 2018 |
actiondrilling: Dell EMC, a global technology solution provider has advised chief executive officers (CEOs) of large enterprise companies as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to align their operational processes with digital transformation, while ensuring that technology drives their entire business activities.
Country Manager, Dell EMC Nigeria, Mr. Travers Nicholas, who gave the advice during an interview with Akelicious in Lagos, warned that unless organisations align their businesses with current digital transformation, they would find it extremely difficult to remain in business in today’s digital era where competition drives businesses.
“My candid advice to all CEOs, business owners, small or large, is that digital transformation is the next frontier. Technology is no longer focused only on Information Technology (IT) department as cost centre, because technology itself is now the cost centre and data is no longer something that organisations need to worry about because data is the new currency. http://www.akelicious.net/2018/06/smes-urged-to-embrace-digital.html These Dell chaps are just using style to advertise their goods and services. But before buying a Dell product, I would opt for an HP product. HP has more after-sales service centres than Dell does, within Nigeria. And their spare parts can easily be found. Not only that, if you place an order for HP products from abroad, it arrives in Nigeria much faster than similar Dell equipment. Finally sha, you bloggers will not enter heaven. No be curse. Instead of saying that Dell is using strategy to market its products, your headline was that SMEs should embrace digital transformation. May God forgive you for masking the core intention of this piece. |
