Does this word mean anything to you - “a fool at 40, is a fool forever”.

At 40, a man should be able to sort out his affair and life. What has he been doing with 40 years of his life for Pete sake. Marriage does not require so much money, it requires proper planning. I even married late. Give me back my youth age and I won’t make that mistake again. So why waste 40 years of your life?

My father used to tell me every second matters and as each second passes, you can’t get it back even the seconds I’m using to respond to you. So you must effectively plan your life because we live on limited time. Time is actually more precious than money. So what is a man at 40 looking or waiting for to start a family if he is serious about marriage and what is a lady at 30 doing with 30 years of her life and her eggs which is of limited quantity?

Please let’s stop beating about the bush. The difference between a successful individual and another is their ability to plan and manage time. If you are organized, things would certainly go well for you. Like I have previously stated, I wasted my younger adult age pretending I was having fun. I regret them to these day as I have to work extremely hard to cover up. So why would a man at 40 wait so long to understand responsibility and commitment, and a woman too. At 40, a man should be consolidating on his gains as he approaches middle-age where things become more clearer, why start a family at that age - phewww and then struggle with raising a family at middle age and the quarrels that comes with knowing and living with a stranger(often associated with newly weds).

Please if you belong to that category - waste no time and organize yourself and if you are not in that category, don’t wait. Get organize and start your family. Dissociate from friends who think that way - they are never do wells. If you meet elderly ones, they would tell you the same and the reason why is that because they are more experienced.

Parents mount pressure because they know better. Many may not be able to provide valid reasons for their pressure but it gets harder starting a family as you get older than your youth and please don’t subscribe to baby mamas or daddies - that’s the highest level of irresponsibility. The truth is bitter and hard to swallow.

This is my last comment on this and I won’t say anymore. It’s your life, live it as you please. I have got work to do before it gets noon here.

Nothing complex about marriage. If people who act responsibly, we won’t have marital issues. You still find irresponsible people having extra martial affairs even when married. Marriage is what you want it to be. But there is no excuse not to be married or for the guy who said having children out of wedlock is cool, that’s the height of irresponsibility.

What we find now is people who are irresponsible wanting society to accept them for who they are and the choices they make. Please they should go and fix up their lives.

26 is not a bad age to get married. However, at 40, for a man or 30 for a woman, what are you still looking for?

Please cut the crap and stop acting like you don't have an issue. The legal age for a woman to marry is 18. The prescribed aged for a woman to marry according to marriage counselors is 25. You are 13 years past the legal age and 6 years past the admirable age. You need to reevaluate your life to address your issue. Marriage may not be the ultimate goal of life, but we are social animals and we need a companion and likewise, love. Hence, marriage is very important for our human existence and happiness. I am less concerned about who you marry, in view of LGBT rights. Notwithstanding, even LGBTs get married and so not getting married is not an exception or an excuse.

Unmarried people have issues and are irresponsible. Even your friends who are out of marriage left as a result of their irresponsibility. Marriage is tough and for grown-ups, and those who understand what RESPONSIBILITY means. Go and address your issue madam and stop acting like you are normal.

We don't need to beat about the bush on this. A man who is not married at 40 or has never tasted marriage at 40 is useless. A woman who is not married at 30 has issues. There may be exceptions, but the exceptions are those who after realizing their issues decided to address them. We know the truth, please let's stop ignoring it.

It goes beyond spending vacations abroad as not everyone can afford it. However, reading newspapers, being involved in debates; obtaining proper education that stimulates logical reasoning - why, how, what, when - being open-minded are the important traits needed for proper upbringing. If you're looking to hold down your twenty year old girlfriends, then develop yourselves in every way you can and make yourselves worthy. There is no need to scare them into thinking that life ends for a woman at thirty. It doesn't. All the wishing in the world wouldn't make it so.

Evesn though I don't subscribe to Late marriage (on the part of ladies especially), I would still choose a responsible 30yr old lady over a lady in her 20s who will eventually start craving for divorce barely few months into the marriage.

What makes marriages stand the test of time is NOT AGE but maturity, endurance, understanding and long lasting love.

I can't understand how somebody will just wake up and decide to make a decision that would impact a lot of lives negatively. I had a lecturer whom we called Baba Ike during my master's program. The man is an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University. Whenever the man referred to OAU, he always called it University of Ife and refused to call it OAU. That is how strong the bond is. I can't understand why these tribalists keep on seeing the rejection of GEJ's gift as hatred of Yoruba for GEJ. Unilag has alumni from all parts of the country and I can bet that none of them liked the change. The name "Unilag" alone drives thousands of prospective candidates to choose the school as first choice. Why would anyone just wake up one day and rename such a university. It is like renaming University of Nigeria Nsukka to Nnamdi Kanu University. I am sure even sympathizers of Kanu who are alumni of the university will reject such a gift.

When Babangida decided to "honor" Awolowo by renaming University of Ife to Obafemi Awolowo University, there were protests led by notable people such as Wole Soyinka who was a lecturer in the University of Ife at the time. The renaming only succeeded because it happened under military rule where there was little regard for human rights.

The rejection of GEJ's gift was not only a Yoruba thing. There are many alumni of the school (Igbo, Hausa's, Yorubas, Efiks, Ibiobios, etcetera) who vehemently rejected the offer.

What is even the need to change the name of a popular brand when it is not like the brand had failed? GEJ didn't think that well at all. He could have done what Buhari did. Enough of renaming already well established universities. If I can remember well, GEJ created nine Federal universities. Why didn't he name one of them after MKO and let the university grow with the name?

I can't even imagine any useless government trying to rename my Alma mater, University of Ibadan. I will reject such gift even if it is to be renamed after my father.

We wanted MKO to be recognized in every region in Nigeria as a democracy hero not only in South West.
Jonathan renaming Lagos state unitversity to MKO didn’t give us what we wanted so our leaders rejected it. Buhari knows what we wanted and he made it possible. If iPod are not happy about it, third mainland bridge is always open.

GEJ fall my hand for the very first time by trying to rename UNILAG after Abiola. Abiola is a certified thieve and a coup financier who deserved no national recognition or whatsoever. The only thing I admired in IBB, Abacha and OBJ's administration is that they made sure that criminal remained and died in detention. if not that funalis always know how to play on the intelligence of Afonjas buhari wouldn't have commited that national mistake my remembering a gone and forgotten thief. Abiola should get deeper or lost in his grave.

I heard that Buhari was part of the government that killed that criminal in detention that he even praised Abacha and his administration which killed Abiola two weeks before the June 12 gimmick. it is mutually exclusive for Abiola and Abacha to be recognized as heroes even you mighty Soyinka said so. I am sure if UNN (University of Nigeria, Nsukka) was renamed after the great Zik, the Lions and other stakeholders would have rejected such ill advised decision. There was great wisdom in renaming the one in Awka after him.

You're more clueless! So it was the name that got the recognition and not the products!And the same Fayemi renamed 'University of Ado-Ekiti while he was the Gov. Of Ekiti.
