writerights: I have studied on three campuses in this country. I have visited a couple of others too. I have to tell you that schooling anywhere outside Lagos is really really a terrible idea I won't ever try again. The student-lecturer relationship I see here in Unilag is alien to Nigerian schools TBH. Students dictate almost everything which includes: tests' dates, exam time table adjustment, classes and many more. The freedom is just too much it took me long to blend with. You may really have to school in Lagos to understand but as for me, if I can't obtain a masters degree in Lagos, it's definitely outside the country or nowhere else. I really won't go to those villages where sad lecturers would mess up my life with their archaic orientation. Oga, it depends on the course, dept, and faculty where you studied in Unilag. In some depts, lecturers have an easy going relationship with students. In other depts, your lecturers are mini-gods, who must not be crossed. Their word is law. Students can't dictate shishi. I remember going for lectures at 6:45 a.m on a Sunday morning during my undergraduate days in Unilag, because one lecturer who had travelled abroad for the better part of the semester, suddenly realised that exams were at the door, and he hadn't taught us half of what was in the syllabus for the year. Dem no born you well, make you no show face for di class. It was a compulsory 4-unit course, and on top of that, he had a habit of arranging impromptu tests, in order to set a trap for students who failed to show up. |

If it happens Lagos will to a great extent loose their IGR. Up till now, all other sea ports in the SE and SS are none functional Yet there is a port in Onne right within the SS zone, that importers from different zones are using to import and export goods from Nigeria. Why didn't Lagos stop the operation of Onne port?

HeyCorleone: When the environment isn't friendly to breed legit businesses.
The current socio-economic milieu of Nigeria is one that would inevitably breed such ills of which internet fraud is a part.
Some people go into Yahoo to get capital to start a business. So? 'The environment isn't friendly to breed legit business,' is just a pathetic excuse used by fraudsters, to justify their nefarious activities. There are still tons of people who are running legit businesses, on a small-scale basis, to feed themselves and their families without dipping their hands into crime. A few have succeeded in even growing such businesses, into greater levels. Yahoo boys engage in their criminal 419 activities out of sheer greed, and not because they want to start a business. They want flashy things, big rides, houses, champagne parties at clubs, balling etc in a hurry, that is why many of them log on to such stuff, and even go as far as doing rituals or sacrifices under the guise of yahoo plus, to make more money. May they all die a slow, painful death and may their ill-gotten wealth go up in flames! |

CioAngels: They call it my career can never suffer for anything, so the innocent toddlers should suffer for the mother's career to grow. The woman who gave birth to the child, is obviously a single mother as no husband was mentioned in the story. This means she is solely responsible for the welfare of her baby. So she needs to work, in order to earn income to survive and feed that baby. However, next time she should take both baby and nanny along with her on her trip, or arrange for a trusted female relative who has been properly screened, to take care of her baby. If her mum is still alive, she needs to call on her mum for help, in such cases. All I can see here, is that she needs to put in place a good home support and care system, for her child. Women have to work to take care of their kids. If she sits at home with the baby, who will feed her and the child? |

majorbravo: This is why I say Nigerian kids needs re-orientation. It is not by feeding them in school that they would become leaders of tomorrow. There are many youths today in University that are worse criminals than those that never saw the four walls of a university or school. What are we teaching our youth? They prefer to scam people than seek work. How do you even employ someone that is more interested in robbing your company than making it grow? I no know say you sef see am. In fact, I just weak. And these criminal minds were raised by one human being called a 'father' or 'mother,' somewhere. When I was growing up, it was a crime for you to bring home something that did not belong to you. After you were made to return it, you were flogged and panel-beaten severely, for even thinking about it in the first place, or even allowing someone else's property to find its way into your hands, bag, or possession. Today, these kids not only defraud people, but glorify such acts and are hailed by their peers. May God punish them well-well and dismantle their ill-gotten gains, in one fell swoop! |

I did a lot of findings in my state and neighbouring states, never record one personal building owned by a Hausa person. Dangote owns a really beautiful house in Victoria Island in Lagos. So does Alhaji Isyaku Rabiu, of the old IRS Airlines. There are several Hausas and Fulanis with great houses in Lagos, but they do NOT make noise about it. Their houses look very simple on the outside, but on the inside you will discover an interior, fit for a king! |

It's not fair alluding that I'm ignorant of what I'm selling, I do know what I'm doing. Go through my threads. Thanks If you were not ignorant of what you were selling, you would have asked for the specifications of the laptop she wanted, and endeavoured to provide one that had those specs for her, instead of pushing her in the direction of a laptop that had just a feminine colour. My colleague is an ardent programmer, multimedia editor and gamer, and she will never choose a laptop based on its colour, but on the specs she requires. |
