Evergreen123: What does it take to understand that yorubas don't know how to speak English.Hahaha..... chai! Your comments show that you have not even taken a tour round the entire South-Eastern villages before jumping to your strange conclusion. Oga, talk is cheap. Provide proof. Please take a trip to each of the villages in the entire South-East, and interview all the villagers/residents in those districts, on their ability to speak English. Next step, conduct a census on how many people in the South-west (excluding Lagos) can speak English, properly. ![]() When you have completed this exercise, plot the results from both zones into a chart, along with the methodology used in arriving at the hypotheses highlighted in your statement above. Then let us see this comparison in black & white. Perhaps it would serve as empirical evidence to support your strange assertions. Maybe, then we would believe you. ![]() My next door neighbours can barely speak two sentences in English, yet they are from Abagana. The couple that lives in the house opposite mine are from Akure, yet they speak perfect English, with correct phonetics. Well, what do I know, maybe their village is located inside Lagos, since according to you "yorubas don't know how to speak English." Well, since am not Yoruba, I will let the Yoruba people reply you. Na wetin concern me inside dis matter, sef? ![]() Abeg, make I siddon dey look. ![]() This drama is getting more interesting with the unsubstantiated statements, weird exaggerations & fallacy being peddled on this thread. |
Evergreen123: U brought these on yourselves and now u are playing victim.Erm .... you conducted a census or a survey, to compare spoken English skills among people in all communities located within the South East and the South West, then you plotted a Gantt chart (or was it a pie chart) in order to find out those who could express themselves better in English? Hmmn.... wonders will never end!! I am laughing in ...... Chinese! LWMKMD! ![]() |
Ikengawo: Otherwise you can't look at Enugu, Imo, Calabar, and Rivers and say you're looking at a 'poorer' region of nigeria. We have our Aba and Onitcha which look atrocious, but their still more productive than any city in nigeria their size by far and large.Hmmnnn..... I thought Calabar & Rivers belong to the South-South, and not the South-East? Why are you lumping these cities with the South-East? Or am I missing something here? ![]() Ikengawo: We Igbos want our states to be better, but we're not going to pretend as if we're living in Ekiti, Kogi, Oyo and the rest because these places still house villages of people that can't speak english and live in thatch and mud dwellings. Though the east doesn't have a Lagos, it has, as a whole, surpassed this level of primitive development which no other region in nigeria as a whole can say it has done.Bros, make una no take laugh kill person for here. So every single occupant of every village in the South East, can speak English? So there are no mud houses or thatched huts in any of the South East villages from Abakaliki to Ogbaru? Chei! I guess people see things differently afterall. ![]() Bros, listen. Every single region in Nigeria (including the South-East) has one or more villages with houses that have thatched roofs and mud bricks. Our political leaders have underdeveloped most of our rural areas. Just go round the villages in your area and check what is going on! |
cKaiser: Those trying to link this to Tinubu, Well this serves as a lesson, Fayose is more like Tinubu in outlook and grassroot. While Fayemi and Fashola are similar (technocrats)Er, you forgot that part of the reasons the Ekiti voted against Fayemi was because of Tinubu's overbearing attitude in the APC which the Ekiti people disliked. They felt Tinubu would be calling the shots indirectly in Ekiti through Fayemi, if he was re-elected. Apart from that, I tend to belive most of what you wrote in your post. Populist figures tend to command a greater following among the electorate, than the technocrats. |
The cybertribalists have started again...with their pathetic rants of "my town is finer than yours'." While others are busy contributing innovative ideas on other threads, some one here feels the only type of contribution he can make is to start attacking towns, villages and communities in different parts of Nigeria. It shows how shallow some people are. ! Abeg, make I siddon look... ![]() |
Our doctors have gone on strike again! Jobless people... ![]() |
DeLaRue: ofcourse. ever heard of an Ibo man go to China and India to knowingly import sub-standard, and even fatal drugs (medication). Never!I am laughing in ..... Greek! You just said .."If you can't trust an Ibo man, who can you trust" .... really Are you serious about this? Here was I, thinking that the good, bad & ugly exist in every tribe & every district. Abeg, make I siddon look. I think it explains why there are no law courts in the South-East. ![]() |
folahann: Yes, he made a lot of enemies with his strict policies. Not only teachers, civil servants too. Students also complain of high tuition fee. All these worked against him but not to the extent of losing by that margin.Ekiti people voted against Fayemi for the following reasons: a). He increased tuition fees by a huge margin which cost him the affection of Ekiti students (just like what Fashola is now doing in LASU); b). He introduced an assessment programme for teachers which they claimed was biased and not objective - this again cost him the affection of Ekiti teachers; ![]() c). He alienated the civil service workers by implementing certain policies that worked against their interest; d). The Ekiti people felt Fayemi was ruling under the over-bearing shadow of Ashiwaju Tinubu and they did not want Tinubu's long arms dictating the pace of events in Ekiti all the way from Lagos, where Ashiwaju has made it a habit to impose his unwanted "candidates" on the people. ![]() Now, Ekiti is primarily a civil service state with no industries. When a governor alienates the students, teachers and civil servants - who would be left to vote for him? ![]() It wasn't so much a vote for Fayose (who has very little to offer the state, judging from his antecedents), it was more of a vote against Fayemi. Fayose just happened to be the lucky recipient of the people's disenchantment with the incumbent. |
dgitrader: he has learnt some hard lessions, lets support him and move on, rather than trying to tilt the windmill. if u are an expert, mail seun, even banks, data-security firms and credit card companies suffer similar attacks. long live nairaland.May God bless you for that articulate, mature response. Some people here have never even created a blog before, yet they are the ones busy launching verbal & written missiles against Seun, who has tried his best to keep this site running for almost 10 years. Haba! Naija people and their Ph.d (i.e. pull him down ) mentality. Several Fortune 500 companies have had their websites hacked, over the past few years. Even Zuckerberg of Facebook has his account hacked! What does that tell you? No one is immune or infallible to all the multiple threats out there. ![]() You can only do your best, add as many layers of security as possible, carry out cyber surveillance on a regular basis and pray fervently, that some misguided, twisted, retarded low-life unable to achieve anything worthwhile in his entire existence, does not succeed in tearing the creative hardwork on your social platform to pieces, simply because he lacks the imagination to create something as good as what you have done. Seun, continue to do your best to restore total services on Nairaland. We are praying for your success.... ![]() |
Abeg, make una cut Seun some slack. He has responded via another thread. Kindly check! https://www.nairaland.com/1793151/concerning-catastrophic-loss-valuable-data; |
Dear Seun Osewa, Kindly accept my sympathy for the incident that led to the breakdown of Nairaland. May the perpetrators be caught, disciplined and sent to life imprisonment by Interpol. May their cybercrime against Nairaland turn against them, haunt them and make them commit financial harakiri. ![]() Seun, please remember that what does not kill you, can only make you stronger. May this incident lead to a super-improved Nairaland that will grow more formidable as the years go by. ![]() The hackers have failed and will continue to fail over your life & enterprise. May their warped dreams end in the dustbin & may each of their attempts to make progress in any sphere of their lives turn to futility. ![]() Take a second look at your Disaster Recovery Programme (DRP) and implement a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) that will be tried and tested through regular drills. Put your backup files in a totally different location (preferably with another service provider in a different country). Stay strong. Stand firm. Keep doing what you know how to do best, which is to excel. In times of adversity, the best in you will rise to overcome those difficulties that loom like the Red Sea. ![]() You are in our prayers, Keep the faith - ~ LAUDATE ![]() |
Can you give an indication of price per unit? Also please provide your address for further follow-up. ![]() |

You are not ready to sell these cars, yet. Otherwise, why is it so difficult to post the cost of each car online as well as their respective VIN numbers? ![]() |
philipo pipo: Pls call me......Call you? Why cant you post the info online for everyone to see? Why is there so much secrecy concerning the VIN No? ![]() |
Hello, can it fly for =N=1.6 million? ![]() Please say YES... |

What does University of Lagos have to do with this article? And who on earth is this Ann Coulter that is spewing gibberish about Nigerians? ![]() |
Oluremi Tinubu for Governor of Lagos? GOD FORBID!! ![]() Has anyone bothered to conduct an indepth analysis of her stewardship as a Senator among her constituents? Abeg, make we hear word, jare! |
There are different types of mental illness. Some may be cured through the use of appropriate drugs and therapy (e.g. depression), others may be managed through proper use of medication. ![]() Mental illness such as hallucination, disorientation etc, can also be caused by underlying physical diseases (e.g. inflammation of the brain etc) and if the disease is flushed out of the body using a combined antibiotic or relevant drug regimen, the affected person becomes well again. ![]() There is so much ignorance, hatred, disdain and hypocrisy among Nigerians when it comes to mental health. We need to wake up & learn more about this and take steps to prevent and avert it as well as work with relevant doctors to mange those with mental infirmity. The govt also needs to devote more time, resources & personnel to take care of people with mental heath issues. |
So Ogun State wants to set up a cancer centre. The same state that lacks a functional blood bank !! ![]() Wonders shall never cease.... ![]() |
Bros, can this car go for =N=1.1 million? Kindly confirm. |
Ovamboland:The day Nigerians start earning the same dollar denominated salaries as their American counterparts, then this argument would fly. In Ghana, Botswana & quite a large number of countries, cost of road construction is far less. why don't you use such examples to buttress your points? |
To all those who support the toll gate on Lekki road, may all the roads that lead to each of your respective houses & local governments be tolled in Jesus name. LCC added just one extra lane to each side of the road and have decided to subject Lekki residents to excessive tolling for the next 30 years, with the support of govt. May LCC be awarded the right to toll Western Avenue which was recently reconstructed by Julius Berger, may they be granted the right to also impose tolls on Bourdillon Road in Ikoyi which was also recently rebuilt & upgraded with millions of tax payers money. Can I get an Amen from somebody?? ![]() At =N=120 to =N=150 per trip, if a worker makes an average of 2 trips per day for 30 days, it would amount to a cumulative payment of over =N=100,000 per annum. LCC despite all their propaganda is not offering any sensible discounts to people who make less than 81 trips a month. Fashola's fans should tell him that Lekki residents do not pay less tax than those in other parts of Lagos whose roads have not been tolled. |
