Politics › Re: No More Strike - Tinubu Assures Varsity Students by lavylilly: 12:13pm On Mar 01, 2023 |
I am looking at the data coming from INEC; most things do not make sense. The statistical ambivalence is mind blowing. Take Ikeja local government, Obi scored 30,004 votes; Tinubu scored 21,276 votes and Atiku 2,280 votes. Ikeja is the capital of Lagos State and the local government area where Tinubu voted.
But move a border to Ikeja, the numbers move at multiples. Then move to Adamawa State, the homestate of Atiku, Obi does well. Then in Rivers State, Obi has no records. Obi wins in ex-president Jonathan’s polling unit but that was it there. Then Atiku does a really remarkable job in Osun.
I am also concerned that INEC does not really have any update on Southeast when some states in SW are largely done. Is it a network problem or what? Abia and Enugu are zero; why?
This is going to the wire; pity political scientists; no one would have predicted the heterogeneity we're seeing. (Please follow me here for updates |

Dear Colleagues,
To what extent do you go just to put down your colleagues because you only want to be the Star🌟 in the team?
You have a team discussion and a member of the team shares an idea with you during an Executive meeting you go there and tell the idea as if you initiated the idea. This has got to stop.
Managers keep saying a particular employee is not performing as expected and you keep quiet in such meetings knowing you steal all their ideas and take glory for their work because of your lack of competence. You need to do better.
We have turned the office into our village town hall meeting where we tear ourselves down just to prove we are better than others.
This is something we find in every organization that nobody wants to talk about and employees struggle through their stay and get their employment terminated, meanwhile there is someone who will never let them shine.
Only one employee wants to shine and if another employee is shining more than them, hell will let loose because they will go to any length to ensure they own every spotlight, you need to change if you fall into this category.
Your colleagues made a mistake and instead of you to call them privately and teach them how to do it better, you wait till there is a general meeting to point this out in front of everyone, you need to come out of yourself as the world does not revolve around you.
Shine in your space and let others shine in their space.
Recently a recruiter reached out to me that he has been trying to close a particular role 8 times but all the candidates keep turning down the offer making him start all over again, he has a KPI and a Time to hire rate that he is appraised by same with every employee. He did not know why the candidates kept turning down the offer when they get to the client's office. But the funny thing is when they turn down the offer, they all sent a similar email, he kept wondering why as something seemed off with this.
Not knowing his colleagues will find a way to get the details of the candidates and tell them not to take an offer given to them because the client's organization is bad. The 8th candidate during the interview mentioned that someone called her and told her not to take an offer from the company, and asked the client why are they so bad, the client was shocked to hear this and pressed further, he got the contact of the person calling all the candidates not to take an offer and they found out it was the colleague of this said, Recruiter.
He did it so his colleagues will be seen as incompetent and then he will be applauded for closing various roles while the others struggle to close up one.
We are stars in our space, live in your space and be content with it. Do not try to put your colleagues down because they are shining better than you.

marcelbli: I don't think you have stated what I believe should be the most important consideration here; Is this a job you want to make a career out of? Or is it just to 'hold body'. Second, what is the prospect for progression within the company? (this may even be the biggest consideration).
Judging from only the information you have stated here; Option C may be the best for you as they seem to be the better structured. A big downside here is that you will be removing yourself from mainstream business circles and won't be able to quickly respond to better job opportunities.
However, you are not only considering for yourself as you are a family man. Things like how ur current housing situation will be impacted, your wife's employability as a result of the change and ur kid's schooling are all very weighty things you have to consider.
Goodluck with your choice. |

Cazzim: I will soon be relocating to Lagos, please can anyone tell me how expensive it is to rent apartment in Lagos, my office is in ikoyi and, I don't want to stay to far from my office, and how is life in Lagos like the traffic and all. base on things I do hear about Lagos am worried already, I will be very grateful for any advise about life in Lagos, please don't mind my English You either stay in Ibeju-lekki axis or Iyana Oworo but budget about 300k annually for rental for self contained (the size of the apartment will be very small) don't make the mistake of staying in Lekki Phase 1 or 2, house rent na die. A survey co ducted by Nigeria Stats says 67.3 % of people working on the island stay on the mainland, places like Bariga, Ketu, Berger, Ikotun, Ikorodu, Mile 2, Mushin to mention a few In respect to traffic, be ready to be in traffic for hours and wake up as early as 5:00am if you stay on the island (Ibeju-lekki) but 6:00am if you will be residing in Iyana oworo. As regards island we have the Ikoyi, VI and Oniru, the water there is better than the ones in Lekki, Maruwa, Ikate, some parts of Ibeju-lekki and VGC. Food is very expensive ensure the jobs pays above 250k so as to "survive" the Island. The following eats into your salary Food Transportation (especially raining season) Rent Your social vices Last bullet: Save save and save |
