When I was a youth corps member in 2006. I bought palm kernel nuts in Eke Avrugo Kogi state where I served and I went to Nsukka to get a lorry to transport it to the refinery in Nsukka but nobody was ready to follow me. They were all complaining of bad road. At the end of the day one man agreed to follow me and he was speaking Igbo to my companion. It was when I got back to Avrugo that my landlady's questioning revealed him as a Yoruba from Osun state. His Yoruba was not very good though.

PoliticsWill Lagos Be Granted More Seats In The House Of Reps?. by lawani(op): 8:30pm On Jan 28, 2025
Will Lagos be granted more seats in the house of representatives?.

According to the NIN registration data, the rest of the SW apart from Lagos is around 118 percent of Lagos population while the SE is around 80 percent of Lagos population and the trend is continuing. It is not because of port because the population of Cotonou is only around one million people. Will Lagos be granted more seats in the house of representatives so that they can have their equity in government?. The only thing Lagos is doing different is collect taxes and being able to pay their bills from their internally generated revenue.

This thread is to focus on the positive attributes and achievements of the major tribes in Nigeria;

The Omoluabis, Lukumis, Anagos (popularly known as the Yorubas) - A very rich culture and history spreading across Western Nigeria, Benin Republic, Togo, parts of Ghana, Brazil, Cuba and the Caribbeans.

Intelligent, accommodating, tolerant.

Gave the gift of IFÁ and Orunmila to the world. A non-discriminatory belief system.

Impeccable fashion state as evident in their local fabrics.

The Hausas

The Fulanis

The Igbos

The Ijaws

Will complete this later today.
Just to add that IFA is a spirit language to communicate with your spirit and other spirits. It uses 256 signs. It is not a belief system. Just a mathematical language. It is scientific

Ojukwu would have had him shot .

Banjo was under immense duress and I am sure that he did not have the complete picture of what was going on and fell for Ojukwu's lies.

It was at Benin that Banjo saw that he made a grave mistake as he detailed how the so-called liberators went about harassing and killing civilians they claimed they came to save from the Fulani.
I don't agree with that. He did not take the commission under duress. I believe he could have politely refused. It was a mistake for him to accept the commission for which he paid with his life.
PoliticsRe: What If Operation Araba Had Fulfilled It's Original Agenda? by lawani(m): 4:10pm On Jan 28, 2025
Another good question is what would have happened if Colonel Banjo had refused the commission to lead the liberation army into the Midwest and west. I am not sure that Colonel Ojukwu would have continued with the plan and Nigeria would have broken up.

States are the most powerful in the Nigerian arrangement. The constitution gives them power over personal income tax. Tell me what is stopping any state from becoming financially independent like Lagos when they have millions of people having income and thousands of high net worth individuals?. What restructuring do they need again?. If there is restructuring Lagos will have to be giving part of her revenue to Abuja

China made more than ten times the 2025 budget of Nigeria from the business interests or profit seeking ventures of the Chinese government in China and all over the world and China is not up to ten times the population of Nigeria. This is a remarkable feat. I am not sure but I think the biggest of these ventures must be the Chinese Energy company that generates and distributes power for the over one billion Chinese.

Scandinavia is a success story and they do up to fifty percent. If the US had universal healthcare, they will also be doing up to that. Everything is copy and paste. No need to reinvent the wheel. In Nigeria, states with tens of billions of dollars of GDP take almost nothing from it.
PoliticsWhat Percentage Of The GDP Should Be Taken Via Taxation? by lawani(op): 7:24pm On Jan 27, 2025
How much of the GDP should the government take via taxes?.

The larger the part of the GDP taken via taxation by the government, the higher the human development index of the country will be. The Scandinavian nations take around fifty percent of their GDP output and they are among, if not the most prosperous nations on Earth as of today. If there is nobody working under the table in a country and taxation encompasses all workers and income earners, then high taxation will not or can not impoverish anybody since the market will adjust to it. Wages as well as prices will be higher but this will not matter since everybody in the country is carried along. It will be as if nobody is paying any tax at all.
Fixing minimum wage and high taxes so that government can have enough funds for education, healthcare, infrastructure, security, investments and etc is the way to go.
I will say rerouting up to fifty percent of the GDP to the center is the way to go.

There are millions of westerners in the East as well. The Yoruba leader in Anambra says there are over 500k in the state alone. Lagos may have over two million Igbos but that is because of the Lagos'high population. The SE is around the size of Oyo state but it is very rich in water resources and can support far more people than Oyo state. It currently supports around 250 percent of Oyo population. Yorubas are also well dispersed within Nigeria. The same is true for all ethnic groups in the country.

Story
Who would have thought that in the 21st century, the United states would team up with Russia, China and India primarily to free the whole world from all kinds of ills like backwardness, inequality, neo imperialism, neo colonialism, religion.and etc. The US made the decision on their own to end all the malaise on Earth and then approached first Russia then China and India with their resolve to use Akin Lawanson to change the whole world. That approach to Russia was in 2000. Since then I have been saved from over thirty assassination attempts starting in 2006 before I even joined social media. I did not know that most of the assailants were after me up till 2023.

BusinessThe Weight Of An Entrepreneur by lawani(op): 2:40pm On Jan 25, 2025
The weight of an entrepreneur.

The weight of a city is the revenue the government can generate from it which is an indicator of the population of workers and consumers in the city. A measure of the weight of a corporation is the number of full time workers on its payroll and this is a better indicator of corporate weight than any other parameter. The financial weight of an entrepreneur is the number of people his or her equity can employ. A person owning ten percent of a 1000 worker company is bigger than someone whose company or sole proprietorship is employing 50 people and the debt to equity ratio of a corporation is also important. A company will not be very competitive product price wise if its debt to equity ratio is very high because it will need to be servicing its debts and that will mean higher prices.
Apart from the number of people the equity of an entrepreneur can employ, a value of an entrepreneur is his or her vision and ability to lead his or her company to profit.
Therefore a good way to size up an entrepreneur is to check how many workers he or she is leading especially if it is a private business.
