sorry to divert this thread to raise this point, but what u and some other africans do really annoy me, you know he is referring to nigeria so y do you call it afrcia instead of nigeriahuhwhen you use africa in the place of the actual country - it makes africa seem to be a country instead of the wide diverse continent it is, i get annoyed when non- africans refer to africa as if it a country- and most times they r ignorant and do not know otherwise so it really pisses me off that we africans are equally as dumb for doing the same thing, instead of saying i went to ghana you will see someone saying i went to africa?? angry huh isnt that dumb africa is a continent but it is these stoopid behaviours that makes stoopid people think so, no one says i went to europe when they tell you i went to jand, or i went to paris, etc etc, biko, lets correct this type of behaviour
I totally understand your feeling on this matter!! Wow! Thought I was the only one. It really gets under my skin. Let the non-Africans do it, but when Africans do it, it feeds ignorance. But from what I've noticed, those that usually do this are the ones who have totally lost their identities, and that's why they end up looking at Africa the same way non-Africans do . . . as a country grin

Yes, the chosen one. Too many crows and chicken biscuits running around here and Pendo and I have been destined to create this lovechild, the chosen one, the real dimepiece, who will bring balance back to this world full of chicken biscuits. You see, Pendo is currently acting like she "don't" know what time it is. But its all lovely. Destiny is destiny. I will allow her to go to mexico and marry that cowleg (whoever he is). She'll come home to the REAL MEAL soon grin . . . . . the original prince of wine-n-dine himself. The father of the chosen one grin

^^If you tell people that they say you are old fashioned. Sex is just that sex like animals. nothing emotional. But making love is a totally different thing because your whole being is involved not only the sex organs. It therefore bothers me when I hear a woman breaking off with a guy today and tomorrow shes in bed with another. They are just Being Intimate and using it a cure for broken heart. It's using the guy.

There's some people who say they get over somebody so fast. For others it could take 5 or more years to overcome.
But either way. Those who hop like grasshoppers do so cz they fear being soo alone. They are used to men's company they just cant do without a man.
Its like an obsession.
That's why I mentioned earlier that they live in denial. These are the same type of women who will now claim they are independent.

Well, if old fashioned is how I would be labelled, then so be it. I look at it as true maturity and strength. It's the strong person who looks inward and is comfortable with peace and happiness on their own, than depending on another being for it. To me, intimacy w/out connection is just another means to achieve an orgasm (if that even happens). It's a false sense of filling a void. But then again, what do I know, I'm old fashioned smiley

Amen to that - I have never understood women who are quick to spread their thighs for a new man - I just never could get the philosophy behind it.  Your own sense of Self-worth should prevent your allowing man after man after man from sampling your delectables.

Also - if too many to count can announce to others how many moles you have and their exact location - I would be humiliated.  Also, sharing yourself sexually is sacred - can make a person feel like they have touched heaven - so to make the act of sex,  so "unspecial" by having it with this one, that one and the other one.  Is just a huge turn-off.

I had a female friend (more than one) who would break up with a guy on Tuesday morning and be underneath a new guy Tuesday evening or Wednesday (the next day) - I just get stunned looking at it.  There are many women (too numerous to count) that do believe to get over a man - they should get under a new one.

I always wondered when it would kick in to women and men that sex,  doesn't make a relationship and it definitely doesn't make you forget about a person you were with,  if anything it should make you remember the person you were with, me personally, if not enough time has elapsed between the end of one relationship and the start of another relationship - I would be in serious trouble because I would be thinking about the other guy while I was with the new guy - that is ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS I can't use a guy to get over a previous guy.

I need some space and separation time to focus on myself and to work through the previous relationship so I am mentally healthy enough to focus on a new relationship and on the new guy.  I don't want to find myself comparing the new guy with the previous guy.  Time has to elapse so I am not comparing or missing him.
Honestly, I think this thought process is the same for many women, but they would rather live in denial and quickly jump under the new man just to make this statement that they have moved on. Sad truth is that all they do is compare the old to the new, whether vocally or implicitly, but always do. Why? Because they never took time out to reflect and recoup. And what you said about sharing your body being sacred is so on point! Many of these women who jump from bed to bed with no time out don't realize that they deplete themselves in the process, over time. But you know, same goes for men too. Maturity has made me view sex differently. I see it as sharing yourself with another person and yes it is a sacred thing for those who don't do the casual sex thing, that is.

Thanks, bro , I think huge part of that comes from being brought up in a one-parent family (mom) so I know how important it is to get it right.

At this moment, if there is one thing I am sure very of, it's that she is the ONE. She knows my standpoint on the issue of moving back to Nigeria and I think she's up for it,  but you never know,
I was brought up in a one-parent home too (mom). Ok, this is deep. Seriously, kido. You are on the right track and I really commend you for that. We share the same mentality about wanting to get things right. For me, I've always wanted to give to the woman I end up with, everything that my mom missed out on in her failed marriage. Stay true to who you are and don't ever let the bad women change you.

Impressive.

"Thanks bro,  I really think she is IT. To honest, my initial plan before coming here was to get my degrees, move to Nigeria, get a job and settle down with a working class lady. This just kind of happened and I think I love her too much to opt out. Also, it's the longest relationship that I ever had and I know it sounds silly but I don't really want to be with someone for 3 or more years and not end up marrying her "
--------------

You are quite mature for a youngster your age kido. Most in your age group are busy trying to make the guiness book of records for how much punee they've plugged. Hope this lady appreciates you and doesn't mess things up for the good ones. We don't want you coming back on NL becoming one of these bitter bashers like the many that plague the site. You think she would be willing to move back to Naij and settle there with you? You know this is a very important issue.

I understand how you feel about betraying your race. And there's nothing wrong with inter-racial marriage but it is very difficult mainly because of external interference. If she makes you happy and sings your heart's song, I say go for it kid. But please erase from your mind that you should ever go to your village and marry. The only men that do this are cowardly men who are looking for a servant for a wife and not a REAL woman.

Shy one says:
I have never been one to jump from person to person - I always allow for separation time between any relationship - you can't focus or bring your "ultimate talents" to a new relationship if you just left a previous one a few weeks or even months earlier.

There are so many that make this mistake of thinking the best way to get over a man is to get under a new one. Problem is, they never really do. They just carry their baggage onto the new one. Always good to take time out, recoup, smell the roses and invest in yourself. This way, you don't depend on anyone but yourself for your happiness.

I agree with you on having a zero-tolerance approach when dealing with those that run stupid games. It is truly a waster of time, energy and other resources.
