^^^^ But that goes to show you what the mainstream defines as beautiful/handsome/good looking etc. A black woman/man has to have some caucasian features before they can be seen as beautiful. I think this same mentallity has even brain-washed our own people. Ask yourselves who are the biggest customers of weave? When that agency told me that, I actually found it funny. Gave up that whole modelling idea a loooong time ago though. It's not for me at all. |
Nice! These Sister definitely represent black to the fullest. Seems like there is this fear of being 100% black especially in the States, where many white people have this false perception of a black woman who wears her hair natural. There are those that carry this misconception that black women who are natural are "too ethnic" and are the "mad angry black woman" type. I personally have experienced this assumption a long time ago when my brother tried to get me into modelling and I took a couple of shots to an agency. They actually said that I am too ethnic-looking and that they were looking for the Shamar Moore type of black man. Black Women have made a covenant with weaves, and it makes me wonder what many of these Sisters who invest so much on this "accessory" would do without their weaves. I find it hard to look at one of these weave-marrying Sisters and compliment her saying "I like your hair." I can't for obvious reasons. Would she be offended if I flat out said "I like your weave?" |
Hey Anonymous. Sister, thanks so much for posting this thread. I am yet to understand how many black women who claim to be "proud of black" invest so much in those nasty accessories called "weaves." I am yet to understand how a black woman can walk around getting "beauty credit" for wearing another woman's hair (of another race, by the way). They might be under the impression that black men prefer that. Personally, I can't stand weave on black women. I think braids are sexy, but to go all out and invest in weaves, along with fake eyes, says to me that a black woman can't be beautiful until she throws in some "caucasian/oriental/other-race" features. Shout out to all my Sisters rocking 100% BLACK. There are brothers, like me, that appreciate you. |
Many women in Naija are still single simply because their woli (so-called pastor, daddy-in-the-lord, etc.) hasn't approved their "potential husbands" yet. The same wolis that came up with the OP's theories. |

Interesting topic. In US politics, those in favor of tribal marriages would be known as conservatives, and those in favor of inter-tribal marriages would be known as liberals. As I've stated once, my FIRST choice would always be Yoruba, but if I'm not able to find a Yoruba woman, then I am open to other ethnic groups. |
@ OP I would NOT ask him out if I were you. You are a woman. It doesn't work that way. Would you also get down on one knee and propose to a man you have feelings for? I would give him "greenlights" here and there, but to actually ask him out? A big NO NO. Be wise. Be a woman. Throw hints at him, he may have been born at night, but he wasn't born last night. He'll figure it out. Once again, my advice to you is "don't ask him out!" Women don't take rejection very well. You can't assume that his answer will be what you want to hear. Some people here say he may be shy and I say if he is too shy to ask you out AFTER 6 LONG YEARS, then you don't need to be with him because he's NOT A MAN! And women don't like punks, no matter how sweet they may be. This advice is coming from a MAN'S perspective and I'm telling you that me, personally, don't find a woman who asks a guy out, sexy. Hints and greenlights are great, but to actually ask a guy out is a turn off. |
@ Poster Sister Roki! Absolutely nothing wrong spending on a "woman." However! I don't spend ish on broke @ss crows as I totally avoid them. . . They turn me off. . . Lights off! |
Justwise!!!!! My manz! Alias the EFCC of Nairaland. . . lol. Maybe this Alex dude is related to Paulfelix (The WHITE American) ![]() |
I'm not against inter-tribal marriage. However, I do notice that there seems to be higher difficulty in marriages between Yorubas and Ndi Igbo. And it's never because of the couple, but because of external interference from the families. And someway, somehow, toxic seeds that are planted, end up growing and choking the marriage. I wouldn't mind marrying an Ndi Igbo sister. But my only concern would be her family. The fact that I'm Yoruba might not give me a hero's welcome. |
Sister Dark! But how? How do you know they are fake? Have you met any offline? Just wondering . . ![]() |

@ ShyOne Kool. |
Shy-One:Is there a masseuse? Roger that Ma'am! They have an onsite masseuse. Don't have to take any shots for Bangkok. And let's not talk about the food in Bangkok. Off the chain. For $15 a day, you will eat yourself into extinction! |
@ ShyOne Sister Shy! Sent you an email. Was a technical engineer when I served in the US Army. Most of the responsibilities and skills learned were transferable to a civilian component. A flight to Bangkok would be about 17 hours. Don't quote me if that factors in the layover. But here's the link to the hotel http://www.lebua.com/en/lebua-at-state-tower/hotel-images/ Good place for a honeymoon ![]() |

I would love that, The pool - the swimming area and jacuzzi area looks similiar to Tina Turner's home. I LOVE THE POOL AREA AT THAT HOTEL. The pool, the bath and the baby grand areas were my favorite of the website.
