@OP, your story reminds me of another story I know of. A certain widow frequently visited a divorced male relative of mine. When she comes, she packs food items from his house. Her children attended schools where school fees were like 150k per term. She wasn't working. It was suspicious, but we didn't talk. Then one day, she came to complain to a relative that she can't sell her body for money. She had asked him for school fees for one of her kids and apparently, he asked for sex in return.

I didn't buy her story one bit. My response was, Madam, why are you always coming here? Did he force you to come? Is he responsible for your children now? You know he is in a relationship, so why do you come when his girlfriend is not around? If he asked for sex, you can say no, afterall, he didn't force you. And why leave your kids in schools you can't afford, only to turn around to blame others for your inability to pay school fees?

I forgot to mention that I told the people around that there are women who are willing to come to my house because of the food, the chicken and all.

When I bought the biggest vitaform for N95,000, there was a girl who came just because of that foam, the first day I bought it.

Where I am staying, there are so many girls in hotels around, tall, fair/dark and beautiful girls whom people pay as low as N2,000 to have sex with.

If I were that pressed, would I give a divorced woman N20,000 just to have sex with her?

I would have rather paid at most N5,000 to sleep with a more beautiful and young girl than pay N20,000 for a divorced woman with kids.

My neighbor use to bring a girl and spent the night with her, after which he would pay her as low as N5,000 according to what he told me.

To have sex is not even costly.

Although I am not into sex stuff.

Maybe the reason I don't like sex much is that it is cheap and easy to get it. We don't like what is common and cheap.

A 27 year old divorced woman with 3 kids came to me to borrow N20,000 to add and pay house rent.

I told her I would give her money in a few weeks time when I get the money.

Last week, she came back from her nursery school teaching job and right from the door of my room, she started shouting " I cannot sell my body for money"

I asked her what happened and she claimed men wanted to sleep with her to give her the N20,000.

I consoled her and told her that some men like giving women such condition before they can help the women.

She answered that if I am among such men who sleep with women before helping them, I should tell her so she could forget about coming to me.

I said that I am not among such men and that I would give her the money when I get it.

She thanked me and left.

I have a male neighbor whom the woman has been having sex with. It was the male neighbor who advised her to come to me because he is not working.

That my male neighbor started giving me attitude. He answered my greetings grudgingly.

I wanted to stop greeting him.

But then I observed that my next yard female neighbors also did the same. They stopped answering my greetings. That divorced woman is living with/near those female neighbors. Other males around were still friendly with me, except my next door male neighbor whom the woman has been having sex with.

So i asked my male neighbor what the problem was because he and the females around were giving me attitude.

He said nothing at first.

Later, he said in a friendly manner that I should have respected myself and not asked the woman for sex, because when he started having sex with the woman, it was she who initiated the move, and not him.

He opened up to me that the woman has been telling people that I wanted to sleep with her for the money.

I was so shocked and ran to go and meet the woman, but he held me and said that the woman strongly warned him not to confront me if he wanted her to continue visiting him.

I told him the true situation of things and he said I should forget everything because she is "just a woman".

I wasn't having any of this, so I confronted her in the front of her female friends in her room.

She answered that she believed we misunderstood ourselves. She said am I not a man? Why must what I heard bother me.

Some males around said I should forget it because the society has given women weapon against men which is rape/sexual assault allegations, because even if women are lying against men, people would still believe the women.

They said that the best a man should do is to hope he is not falsely accused by a woman because there is nothing he can say that anyone would believe him.

Because the society believes a man always wants to have sex with every woman, therefore every accusation from women would be immediately believed.

I answered them that even if a person is a chronic thief who is well known as a thief, he would not keep quiet and just accept it when he is accused of stealing what he did not steal. He would shout and defend himself.

At least let them accused him of what he stole and not what he didn't steal.

They say I am a man and it is nothing to a man if a woman accused him of wanting to sleep with her. One girl there was telling me that there was nothing wrong in a man wanting to sleep with any woman. That there is nothing to be ashamed of as a man, if you have a desire to sleep with any woman.

Can you imagine that?

I believe the society should form a group to cater for men also.

So many black men were falsely accused by white women and were killed because no one cares for the male gender. You cannot just accept false accusations because you believe it is nothing since you are a man. What if you end up losing your life, freedom or happiness because of it?

Men are so ashamed to rise up and defend the male gender. But women always group together to defend a woman who is abused by a man.

Men would rather defend the female gender.

But know that if you are ashamed to defend a follow man against a woman who wants to destroy him, when your time comes, no one would defend you.

What goes around comes around.

Don't think that you are safe when other men are not safe.

Don't think that if a woman accused a man falsely and the man is being imprisoned or killed, that you cannot be a victim tommorow.

Most Federal Universities in Nigeria,depending on the department would prefer to admit an applicant into Ph.D who has at least 1 publication from an MSc.
However,progressing from proposal to first seminar does not compulsorily demand that you publish an article.Your Supervisor is a major determinant here,his/her views matter!

On the question of order of names on a published work: This greatly depends on the Journal. Read the Author's Guide to understand how each Journal stipulates 'name arrangement'.
In support of Wip7's earlier submission, all the names on a published work are all considered as Authors of such work!

Like the phone number I am using has a password with which I alone can transfer money from my first bank account to someone.

How they were able to know that password is baffling.

It means that it is very risky to lose your phone or your line.

I’m not familiar with the system or the levels you described. Publication is optional for a master's program, as far as I know. While in a PhD school where I studied overseas, you must have at least 1 or 2 reputable publications before you may graduate, not by level or seminar.

No. That isn't what it means at all! The authors of the published paper are all listed in the paper. However, the sequence of names is determined by the university and most organizations, with the first author being the primary author, followed by the second, and so on. It also matters who is the corresponding author. In a nutshell, all names in a published paper are the authors.

While studying, any credible publications bearing your name are taken into account, regardless of the number of names in the article or the order in which they are listed. Several universities, on the other hand, prohibit two authors from using the same paper for the same purpose. For example, author A uses the same paper to graduate, and author B uses the same paper to graduate as well.

Please I want to verify something here.

If you are doing Masters or PhD, it is expected that you publish your work before you progress to the next level.

Maybe you need to publish 1 journal to progress from proposal to first seminar.

So, if you put your supervisor's name first and then your own name second, it means your supervisor is the author of the journal.

Will it still count as journal to progress to the next level?

Please those who are in the system should enlighten me.

Yes.So many Nigerians are totally fraudulent.

Where I am living, there's one boy whom I had been giving money for feeding because he always told me he had not been eating food.

Recently, I discovered he had a family who has been feeding him but he always came to me lying about hunger and collecting money from me.

My neighbor and his sister always collect money from me because they claim they have not been paid salaries for months.

Recently, I met their co-worker who told me they have been paid salaries monthly and they have never been owed for any month.

My observation over the years is that most Nigerians would always try to cheat you if there is opportunity.

It is not a one day observation.

Most people who always ask me for money, claiming they don't have money, it is either they are lying about not getting money or they want to use the money for something different from what they are claiming they want to use it for.

Also most Nigerians would not hesitate to cheat you when you do business or interaction with them. I speak from years of experience.

But till the house was pulled down and replaced by modern house,I had never taken a look at what were inside the house.

Before civilization came to Nigeria, what type of bed did our ancestors sleep on.

I am asking this because I read in Things Fall Apart that Okonkwo used to sleep on his bamboo bed.

What type of bed could our ancestors have slept on that would be comfortable.

I know they couldn't have been sleeping on the floor because of the risk of ants or insects bite.

Hmm... this is why i have and will continue to have an issue with our Muslim brothers, burying their dead, immediately they die. Hear this guys, there's every possibility that, not everyone who died, & was/is buried by our Muslim brothers actually died. Perhaps some of them were actually "sleeping". I have come in peace.

From what I heard in the north, if someone dies and the news have spread that the person is dead, and people have come to sympathize with the family, any attempt to wake up will be met with instant execution.

What I mean is that if you are a northern nigerian Muslim and you die, if you wake up again after people thought you have died, someone around would use dagger or knife to kill you.

It is believed that no man can die and live again until during the judgement day.

So any attempt to live again after dying would not be permitted so that the scripture should not be mocked.

Because they believe it is a mockery of the scripture which says no one can live two times before the judgement day.

That is why they don't believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again.

It is against their religion.
