At What Age Did You Stop Trusting People? by lecturer50(m): 12:59pm On Aug 21
When I was teaching in secondary school, there was an elderly teacher who told me he does not trust or believe anyone.

He said that one day, I would come to a point where I will truly discover that human beings cannot be trusted.

One day, I wanted to buy a goat, and a fellow teacher asked me to give him the money for the goat, so that in the evening he would bring me his goat.

I wanted to give him the money, but the elderly teacher asked me not to give because no one can be trusted.

I asked the man to take me to where his goat was. But it turned out that there was no goat. The man just wanted to dupe me.

So the elderly teacher was right concerning the man.

I discovered that anything someone said, anything someone did, the elderly teacher always said it was false/fake, and I always discovered that he was always right.

It seems that at a certain age,a person always comes to the point where he or she can no longer trust people.

I have discovered also that whatever elderly people say concerning people is always true.

Elderly people always doubt people's statement and actions and it always turned out that they were right.

During the US-Iraqi war, when Sadaam Hussein told his country he was leaving Iraq to prepare and get more support for his army, all the elderly men who were in my area said he wanted to run away, but the young men said he actually wanted to go and get more support for his army.

Later events showed the elders were right.

At what age did you stop trusting people?

I decided to bring this topic up because sometimes it is when someone has been seriously duped/cheated, that is when he or she will stop trusting people.

My uncle is a case study.

He was the manager of a bank.

He so much trusted women because he believed that women cannot lie, cheat,or do evil.

Women were observing him.

Anything you do, people are observing you, people are weighing you to see your weakness so that they can cheat you

One day,a woman went to get loan from my uncle's bank.

The loan was in millions of naira.

Because of the trust he had for women,he gave it to her without collateral.

The woman ran away with the money.

Till today, the woman is no where to be seen.

There was no collateral that the bank could take in place of the money.

Now, the case is in court.

If found guilty, my uncle could spend some years in jail.

He has also lost his job, and it is affecting us all because he used to give my mother money when he was still the bank manager.

Now he can no longer trust people, even women.

Our prayer is that what will make you stop trusting people would not be as bad as my uncle's case.

At age 16, in SS 1.

It was our assistant class captain. She was my close friend then. A very gentle and quiet fellow. I used to think we are all the same until one day, something dropped from her bag. It was a pack of pills. I didn't know what it was. So the just covered it up with some likes.

Later, someone brought it out of her bag and we checked, it was pregnancy prevention pills. shocked..

Another time, this same girl went and disclosed something we discussed about someone to the person. Since then, I cut off from her and stopped trusting people.

Now, I don't trust any body. no matter who you are.

Re: At What Age Did You Stop Trusting People? by Goodlyhrt(m): 8:52pm On Aug 21
I read it from books since junior high never to trust anybody.

My parents even. You see humans are basically helpless in this life like you can't really blame humans here. We want to get out of an uncomfortable situation fast and we are limited for choice and time is not on our side so we will find the easiest means to get out of it.

So the thing is I take it as it comes sometimes I might try to prove myself wrong by trusting someone a lil bit, most times they fail, sometimes it works out.

Just that humans can't really surprise me in anyway.

My advice for everyone. There is no free thing in this life, ever! No unconditional love, no free meal and no free affection. Humans wouldn't come to you if you have nothing.

So work hard to be successful and learn to be happy on your own.

Good for them but let her not start complaining tomorrow when the guy begins to take her for granted.

I wish them well.
But if a man proposed to a woman, why doesn't she take him for granted because he was the one who proposed?

If a woman does not take the man for granted because he proposed, why are you so sure that the man would take her for granted because she was the one who proposed?

The truth is that everyone is different. You cannot use one person's attitude to judge everyone.

For instance I know so many women that would playfully slap a man on the back, maybe because they enjoy doing so.

But I met one lady who likes slapping a man's buttocks.

She so much like such and trust men na, they also like doing so to her as well.

I don't know how she came to like such a thing, but that is what she likes doing.

We cannot use few people to generalize all people.

That is the truth.

Most things you hear on Nairaland are not true.

Sometimes a man would pretend to be a woman and sometimes a woman would pretend to be a man and would bring a complete fake story to see how people would react.

Some people would lose their mood and start vexing over a completely false and fake story.

I pity those who believe everything they hear in Nairaland.

The heart of people is very deceptive and cunning.

To trust someone these days is very risky.

Trust anyone at your own risk.

RomanceTo Marry Many Husbands At The Same Time Is The Easiest Thing To Do On Earth by lecturer50(op):
From my experience with men so far,if a woman can build 3 houses and then announce that she wants to get married to 3 men at the same time, with the promise that each man would be given a house,

and that she would be the head of the family, visiting each husband in turn,

so many men would apply to be married to her, not minding the fact that they would be all married to the same woman.

Of course, I know, many men would deny this.

But I know men very well and I have seen a lot of things to know that the easiest thing for a woman to do is to marry more than one man.

Men would almost never admit it openly, but they know I am saying the truth.

To marry 5 husbands at the same time is the easiest thing to do on the earth,if the woman has the means, and makes her intentions known

Of course so many men may deny this, but I know that men are the masters in self deception and because of unnecessary pride, they would never accept some truths.

I have aunt and female relatives that are well to do and I have seen things.

But men, because of pride would never accept this.

Let us assume you are a woman and you have money and you invite a man to your house, cook good food for him and after he has eaten, you then have sex with him.

You treat him like something very precious, hug him from behind and call him "sweetheart".

Let me assume he doesn't have a good phone, you went and bought him an Android phone.

You make him know that you already have a house and that if he marries you, both of you will live in your house and that you will take care of his needs, that you will buy him a car,

I tell you the truth, the whole truth and nothing else but the truth, most men would immediately agree to marry such a woman.

Most men already know that what I am writing is true, although some may deny it out of pride.

Even if you tell him that you will still marry another husband so that they would be 2 husbands in the same house, some men would still agree.

The rate at which men are looking for successful women cannot be overstated.

The rate at which men are looking for successful women cannot be overstated.

Yes.

I once sat with a tall slim Igbo boy.

I think he was very happy for embarking on the journey from Aba to Kano.

He was looking at the mountains, seas and nature as the journey progressed.

As one man came in and began to speak on the importance of drinking petrol (he was marketing his petrol),

the way the boy laughed,eh, every body come join laugh the man so tey, the man come de run.

As the bus stopped for us to buy food and ease ourselves, the boy came and hugged me.

He was really a nice boy and we were closed together throughout the journey, discussing the towns, cities, rivers, mountains and valleys,as the bus passed.

He bought food for me at one point.

I really liked him.

I will not forget that day.

I have not seen him again since then because we didn't exchange numbers.
Generally, people are nicer if they are free from the limitations of their environment, education etc.

That is why people that just finished their BSc or HND and are going for service are always so happy because they are free from the limitations of their education.

Also people who are traveling from a place where they have stayed for years without traveling, they will naturally be happy.

This happiness is what makes them nice.

I remembered when I traveled to another state to write exams.

The exams started late and by the time it finished,it was night.

I couldn't travel back that night.

A lady observed me and asked me if I had a place to stay for the night.

I answered in the negative.

She then took me to her house where I spent the night.

The next morning, I traveled back.

There are really nice people out there.

HealthRe: At 14 Years,i Looked 40, But At 25 Years,i Looked 10.Who Can Explain This? by lecturer50(op):
I forget to mention something.

I have also experienced a situation whereby I was standing with someone.

Before you know it, the person became surprised saying he saw an older man standing where I was, but when he looked again,he saw it was a small boy.

Or some would be very surprised that the small boy they saw a moment ago could look very elderly the next moment.

These things like happening in those days, but presently it has stopped.

In those days,i had been asked this question "Are you a man or are you a boy?" several times.

This used to happen when the person look at me and would be seeing a very small boy one moment, and a very old man the next moment,

or he/she would be seeing an elderly man one moment, and a little boy the next moment.

This normally happened when the person is just meeting me for the first time.

Upon all these,I looked like a 10 year old boy from the age of 20 till the age of 32 before I returned to normal.

As in, in the University, during NYSC, during job interviews,I looked like a mere boy during my 20 to 32 years period.

But the condition has returned to normal.

What I am saying is true.

Some people need evidence.

But even if I should post my 30 years old photos and tell them I was 10 years, those doubters will still say that I am lying, that I am posting my 10 year old photos, claiming that I was 30 years.

Evil speakers will still find a way of discrediting whatever I do to prove myself.

Maybe it has a medical name.

There could be a medical condition that can make it to be so.
Ok.
HealthAt 14 Years,i Looked 40, But At 25 Years,i Looked 10.Who Can Explain This? by lecturer50(op):
When I was 14 years old, people use to think I was above 40 years.

Everywhere I went, they use to call me sir, oga, daddy, etc.

When I got to SS1, people in SS3 were so surprised that a papa could come to school and one of them was asking me why I chose not to go to school when my mates were going to school in those days.

But I was only 15 years.

But surprisingly,by the time I entered University at the age of 22, all those things reversed itself.

I suddenly started looking like a 10 year old boy at the age of 22.

I don't know how to explain it or make people to believe me.

But I am speaking the truth.

In University, some JSS3 boys that use to sell something inside the school, would be saying that I was their age mate. That how come I am in the University.

In my department, everyone said I was the youngest.

I think I was being compensated for those days when I looked way older than my age.

At the age of 24, while still in the University,I applied for a security guard job at Hamilton Guards.

They were looking for security guard to protect globacom mask that was in my compound.

I thought it would be best for me to do the job, since I was living inside the compound where the mask was.

But I was denied the job because they said I was too young to be a security man.

They said I was lying when I said I was 24.

During my NYSC, some girls were teasing me that how come my mom allowed me to go for NYSC, since I was very small.

Now, I have returned to normal.

I no longer look like a small boy, neither do I look old.

I now look my age.

Please who can explain this phenomenon to me?

Was it a medical condition?

What could have caused it?
