If you are not trying to throw punch...why are you assuming I was rejected by sterling..claiming I can't get into ivy league schools I dont have to apply to a school to have an objetive view about its unfair entry requirements...its called having a view...theres nothing like throwing a pity party here.. Oh the bolded were you hurting? Move on mate and go get doing what needs to be done. You sometimes or would in the future put your kids in for extra lessons, on about things they learnt in school, if and when you do that won't mean you are stupid or your kids are not good at the supposed subjects, is you wanting best for them and them standing unmatched with their pairs. So are the universities.. they want the best even if the are not in top 100. |

advanceDNA: If you don't see that Nigerians and nations where education is taught in english are being massively exploited with IELTS in the name of requirement...then you either don't think i this direction or you are just an asslicker of white men... U mentioned that it is used to weed out the lazy ones...like seriously ....ielts is what will determine who is lazy among nigerian students.?? What is this one saying??
To top it all up...ability to speak and understand English expires after 2 years...and u don't see anything wrong with this nor do you see it as exploitation but a requirement....i say it again...u either don't think or you are just an asslicker
The many of institutions in UK waving this ielts requirement.. are they stupid.??..many of them are top 10 in UK and top 100 in the world.... sterling doesn't even have good ranking and is forming requirements My dear friend, I will give you a friendly advise and a patriotic one thats if you would listen. Rather than stay here and call me names, you would be better showing you ain't lazy and a dedicated prospective student, by either taking the exams or proof you should have that requirements waived. If you can't provide either you are just lazy and not dedicated to your purpose of travel. If a university have no reputation and you apply to them to go study there, how are you being wise, knowing well you would be paying loads of funds to this university? I don't get how the university is stupid? Like you want to part with your funds to a stupid entity? And you don't realize what that means to you parting with the funds? And because you stand no chance of gaining admission to the top universities you go for the less reputable universities still get bounced, yet am an asslicker? You hold a proff. degree in nonsense name calling and shallow depth of reasoning Don't get go doing what should be done. Keep flirting with delays on NL |

advanceDNA: It's their loss...at the end of the day schools need money to stay operational unless they get regular donations...
Nigerians can go to other schools that accept more than a decade of being taught in English as enough proof of english Lang proficiency ....
What's even more annoying is saying proficiency in English expires... Ta with is their loss and they need your monies to stay operational arguments. Not everyone enjoy term and services on Amazon for shopping but Jeff Bozos is madly rich. Not everyone drives a telsa yet Elon musk is richest. In a business not everyone would buy your products, however your duty to maintain high quality is on the producer, which most customers want when making a purchase.. If Nigerians don't apply to the school other countries would and have great community there and at the end, loss of Nigerians to grow in that community whilst noting they may grow in other communities. So everyone got something to loose Beyond English proficiency requirements being used to access a prospective student's depth in English it is also used to weed out lazy students and non dedicated students, because those who won't provide such or reasons why such requirements should be waived end up not having an admission. Every school loves students who will get admission, take up the offer, report for studies and excel, so not just money money money thingy you want to come here and type for me to buy. |

bola01234: They so stupid I swear down Really? But you must proof your efficiency or else you won't secure an admissions. So where does this stupidity gets to end? It's just simple university requirements, even back home you take jamb, some university you still have to take another exams to get in, or seek admissions in other schools that don't require that if you don't want to take another exams after having taken jamb. |

nwaogukings03: I saw Lagos to London flights by Royal Air Maroc on skyscanner.net that are 30-50k cheaper than the price quoted at their office in Lagos. The travel agents are Travelstat, Travel2be and Travelgenio. They all seem to accept payment in Naira; the fare prices were quoted in Naira on their own site. Please who knows how reliable these travel agents are? Do they really give genuine air tickets that are recognized and confirmed by Royal Air Maroc? I know they have issues with cancellation and change of details on the flight ticket, but aside from these, do they have other problems? If you paid for a ticket and hold any doubts, you can easily confirm the authenticity on the carrier's website. |

iamleye: Hello everyone, please I have few questions I need clarification.
My brother was banned from the UK for submitting fake documents in February 2012.
Apparently an agent he contracted messed him up and that resulted in the ban.
February 2022 made it 10 years he was ban and he is trying to apply again by himself. Now this is my questions?
1. Will he disclose the ban? Since it is 10 years already.
2. Will he need an health insurance for the duration of stay?
3. Is hotel booking sufficient for proof of where he will stay in the UK?
Thank you all as I await your positive response. But wait, you guys should allow these agents rest init...... Always the agent messed up, wasn't aware, like the wrongs always starts and ends with the agents... Ignorance is SIN.. it isnt in the bible for no reason that my people perish for lack of knowledge..... 1. If he encounters such question and it states within the last 10 years, he would have to disclose it... just to add it is safer to disclose such either ways during the application and be clean on events. 2. No. UKVI does not require travel insurance for standard visa application, as such that is optional. 3. Yes. That is sufficient. |

claremont: A racist policy. If a Ukrainian came by boat from France, would they send the Ukrainian to Rwanda? Why is it just black and brown people they send to Rwanda?!
I and many immigrants in the UK are economic migrants. The only difference between us and the refugees crossing the channel is simply sheer luck. We were lucky to come in via the boat of university migration, and we were lucky to have the funds to pay tuition fees, visa etc.
If a book was written about the sheer hypocrisy of a small minority of black and brown people speaking/acting against black and brown refugees escaping their countries to seek a better life in the UK, that book will be a best seller. If they sent a black/brown person to middle east or other continent, you would still have had complaints that they are sending a brother/sister to war zone to die a war they never signed up for or maybe say modern day slavery, they decided to send to an African country yet still racism. |

Are you saying they couldn't use the monies they paid to smugglers for tuition? Like they don't pay the huge sum in bits to this smugglers like most would pay and struggle to do for university studies. What is really racial about a country trying to deter and strangulate an illegal business? What luck is it they have not; if someone going for a university program pays 30,000-35,000 pounds total cost, and another decides to give 50,000 pounds to a smuggler? |

They can afford to pay smugglers thousands to bring them to the UK That's very true, I always thought what they paid to smugglers were peanuts, not until i met a guy from who came from Iraq, he said he paid 50,000 POUNDS STERLING to the smugglers. I was dazed. And now imagine he filled for benefit as he has been around for quite a while and maybe perhaps qualifies for it. Takes this money, buys tobacco and sells to Polish and Romanians. |

nwaogukings03: I know it is not a guarantee for success but I wanna avoid the hassle of looking for a sponsor cos if I add that flight and hotel/dormitory money to the other expenses, then the total expenses (N425k or 780GBP) will be less than 3x the balance i have in the statement of account i wanna present (N1m or 1840GBP). Also the cost of the flight and hotel will increase by 50k or more by the time the visa comes out if success.
what do you think I should do? Buying and paying for hotel accommodation does not spare the fact that the onus is on you. I.e you would still have to explain and demonstrate to the eco how you are able to self or have someone sponsor your trip, stay and return to your home country after your trip to and from the UK. What I think is reaccess your application, put a simple yet genuine application and hope for the best. All the best. |

nwaogukings03: Hello house, please I need your advice. I want to apply for standard Visa to UK (6months single or multiple entry) on 31st April for the purpose of sitting a professional exam in mid June which has been paid in full. I plan to stay 3 full days in London and this excludes the days I fly in (may arrive in London in the evening) and fly out (will likely leave in the morning). I have no travel history.
I would have built my account for 4months starting from Jan to May end and so i want to use a 4months statement of account for the application. There is a small lump sum that came into my account on 1st Jan which i transferred out as investment.
I want to pay for my flight and hotel/dormitory accommodation in full using another account, so that it will remain transport and feeding and miscellaneous. I don't plan to engage in any form of shopping or sight seeing while there.
Current salary is N290K In Jan, Feb, March, i performed an international transaction of N50k I withdrew 20k from the account in 2 separate months.
My account balance will be about N1m (1840GBP) Return Flight - N350k (645GBP) will be booked and paid in full from a different account. Hotel/Dormitory - N35K (65GBP) will be booked and paid in full from a different account.
Expected expenses in London: Feeding for 3days: N15k (30GBP) Transportation for 3days: N10k (20GBP) Miscellaneous: N10k (20GBP)
My questions are: 1. is it acceptable to present just 4months statement of account? 2. Is is acceptable to pay for flight and hotel using a separate account? Do I need to tell them that I have another account with money in it as a proof to show that i can afford to pay for the flight and transportation? will I need to provide the statement of this separate account? 3. Will the ECO add the flight and hotel expenses to the rest of the expenses even though I would have paid for them prior to visa application? 4. Should I start my statement of account from 3rd Jan to avoid explaining that lump sum that came in on 1st Jan or should I go ahead and explain it? how will I prove that the lump sum that came in is my money? 5. The expenses i budgeted, are they reasonable?
Please help me, abeg. If you are going for the bolded you can self sponsor. |

3. The less the number of Nigerian friends you have the better for you. 4. Save, save and save to get a deposit to buy your own house (Mortgage) as all rent is waste and your propert(ies) will serve as a good source of pension and wealth in future.

6. Not sure if you are a man but if you are, NEVER hit a woman.
7. You can go to prison for 8 years if your wife says get up and you say wait till I finish as from the point you carry on regardless, it is called marital rape.
8. Don't drink and drive or drive withouth insurance as if you hav an accident in such circumstances, you will be jailed. Also do not drive if you have been banned from driving.
9. Don't listen to ANY Nigerian who tries to teach you ways to beat the system (e.g fiddle with your electric meter) or make easy money as any easy money comes with a greater than 50% probability that you will end up in jail.

Ray7878: Usually you wait 10 working days before going to TLS, but I have heard of people who went directly within a few working days and picked up their passport. That’s from feedbacks on here though.
From personal experience TLS has a way of sending people away just to reduce their workload on that day. They did the same thing to my wife when she wanted to reschedule her biometrics appt whilst in front of them. They lied to her because they couldn’t be bothered to sit and show her what to do, that delay alone cost her another 17 days before she could reschedule.
When you went to TLS did anyone actually went in to check for you? Did they sit you down, check and saw that your passport isn’t there yet? If they didn’t do that then you shouldn’t have left.
You have the email that says a decision has been made. So I am assuming the decision must have been at least a week working days. A decision has been made doesn't directly translate to travel documents is ready for collection. |

How come some people are getting their passports returned faster than others. If there is really a delay in passport return to nigeria as they claim, is it not supposed to affect all applications from Nigeria? Or are the applications not all reviewed and processed in uk? Can't the same logistics used to bring down those other passports from the uk be used to bring ours as well? I have been waiting for the return of my passport for well over two months now Some applications are not straightforward, thus decision making takes longer as to normal in such cases. Each application is processed on individual basis whilst they work to deliver within normal time-frame. All fingers are not equal, apply that as well, and you have all clarifications you would have needed. Hopefully it ends well and worth the wait, when your travel document is readied for collection. |

Even if you put and you can put in a new application within 24hours of a refusal, as long you have no ban, you would do no wrong in regards to that. Your new application would always be decided on the merits it deserves. |
