FG Suspends Adeboye's Helicopter From Flying:


The Federal Government through the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has suspended a private chopper belonging to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

It was learnt that the aircraft, AgustaWestland AW139 chopper, with registration number 5N-EAA, was grounded at the Lagos Airport, and suspended from flying over two weeks ago, following the expiration of some of its papers and spare parts.


According to the aviation officials, the suspension was said would also allow the regulator to conduct vital safety checks on its safety-critical components, especially some spare parts that are due for replacement.

It will be recalled that Adeboye, a week ago, had called for drastic action against corrupt practices in all facets of Nigeria, after he revealed that he arrived late for a meeting because someone wanted a bribe before he could be given permission to fly his chopper.

In his words, he did:


“Something must be done about corruption in this nation. All I can say is that I’m this late because somebody wanted a bribe. And you know if you’re expecting a bribe from me, you have to wait forever.

The aviation official was said to have been contacted to give approval for the use of the airspace by Adeboye at that time.


As a result, many diverse reactions have continued to trail the development, with many saying there might be more to the suspension of the renowned man of God's chopper

Four military men at Eleme Petrochemical gate, Porth Harcourt, Rivers State have killed a police inspector, Hosea Yakubu.

According to information gathered, the police, Hosea Yakubu was beaten to a pulp last week Sunday by the soldiers attached to the company, for driving against traffic.

A brother to the deceased officer said the deceased and two other officers were returning from normal patrol duties, as a result of traffic along Eleme, they chose to drive against traffic.

This incident led to heated argument, and the military personnel who was not on uniform slapping the police driver.

After Yakubu was slapped, he alighted from his vehicle and challenged him, the other soldiers then joined their colleague and the whole issue turned into a serious fight.

Yakubu's brother added that one of the soldiers took a heavy wood and used it to hit Yakubu on his head, and then he fell down and couldn't move.

He was later rushed to the hospital, after 24 hours on admission, he gave up the ghost.
